This book was intense. We find out who the imposter is. But it doesn’t end that simple. Great story. Highly recommended

A dark and...kind of screwed up ending to a pretty solid series. What if Batman was real. Which we've seen before. But this Bruce seems especially venerable, getting beaten on, shot, and so on yet he still pushes through with Bruce never giving up like Batman. A nice ending to a nice reveal. A 4 out of 5.

I declare myself to be a committed and devoted Tomlin's fan. I wouldn't need to read anything from him anymore to remain one. I loved practically everything in this story. This is definitely not a conventional batman, here we see a guy who really convinces you that he is deranged, which it's truet to some degree. I don't know if this was intended as an extension of Reeves's Batman but I could almost believe it if it weren't for specific plot details, such as Alfred abandoning Bruce due to his mental disorders and extremely violent behaviour at the school.
Probably I'm not going to be very popular with what I'm going to write but... Batman is vastly more interesting and captivating, at least to an adult audience, when he is treated not as a superhero (equivalent to Superman, Flash or Aquaman blah blah all Bat-family's stuff) but when he is treated as a mentally ill man, a weirdo in a horrible city with bunch of weirdos like him or worse, who had the right circumstances not to end up in Blackgate or Arkham asylum. This plot is amazing, I would never have believed that something so memorable could be done WITHOUT USING A SINGLE iconic villain from comic's gallery. In the best Batman: Ego style, this story knows and respects the importance of its main character and knows that he can sustain an intriguing plot on his own.

Gostei bastante desse universo do Batman como um todo, foi uma leitura cativante e que me prendeu do início ao fim, tanto por sua parte investigativa tanto por seus momentos de diálogos aprofundando os problemas do Bruce e traçando uma dicotomia entre ele e a figura do Batman.
O final não é nada surpreendente, mas dentro do que é proposto é um bom final e corresponde a narrativa desenvolvida. Ainda temos um elemento misterioso que dá indícios de uma possível continuação do Batman nesse universo.
Achei interessante a maneira como retrataram o Batman nesse universo, tentando trazer o herói para algo mais real e como seria se na sociedade em que conhecemos um vigilante atuasse no combate ao crime. Dentro dessa perspectiva, o roteiro desenvolve bem o Bruce e o Batman lidando com suas ações e com as ações do impostor, que refletem na atuação do homem morcego e como o público o vê. A fidelidade do Batman não matar é respeitada, mas esse elemento é o que causa a discussão frente a figura do impostor, que cruza essa linha.
Outro ponto a se destacar é como o arco se encerra, pois ele não traz um "final feliz" em que o herói captura e vence o vilão, isso até acontece, mas o legado e o cenário que o vilão desenvolveu durante a sua atuação acaba complicando a vida do Batman, ao ponto de se refletir se realmente o Batman venceu.

The Batman The Impostor three part run was a fresh take on Batman, Bruce Wayne and Gotham at large. The art and paneling is beyond magnificent and many pages left me sitting in appreciation for extended periods of time as I took in all the subtle details. I cannot express how much I enjoyed the story and presentation in this piece. This is a rendition of Batman I truly hopes gets more stories.

Who is the imposter? Although I predicted who it was, the reveal is pretty satisfying and makes a lot of sense. This final book is fast paced and delivers on everything you want it to: nice character moments (especially with Blair Wong), action, and a satisfying reveal. The only thing I am uncertain about surrounds the motive. Would the criminals be released if the judges who sentenced them were found to be corrupt? That doesn’t make sense to me. Apart from that, the writing and artwork is great throughout.
It’s more than obvious how Matt Reeves was inspired by this book when directing The Batman (2022). It’s great that Mattson Tomlin will be co-writing the sequel with Reeves.

La storia era iniziata bene, ma è diventata banale nel mezzo ed è finita troppo frettolosamente.
La storia, nel complesso, non mi ha preso e mi ha annoiato a tratti.
È banale. Già dalle prime 24 pagine si capisce come finirà e procede senza colpi di scena.
Caratterizzazione dei personaggi quasi nulla.
Qualche seduta di Bruce Wayne dallo psicologo, ripetendo sempre le stesse frasi, non basta per un fumetto che vuole raccontare le prime vicende di Batman.
Dal punto di vista grafico, è eccezionale.
Sorrentino come al solito fa un lavoro pazzesco.
Senza i suoi disegni, avrei messo 2 stelle.

Las piezas se unen, lazos son quebrados y el Impostor se revela
El último tomo de esta historia se siente un poco apurado, y bueno, hay que cerrar la historia, como tambien hay que dejar flancos abiertos, uno nunca sabe cuando se puede renovar una colección
Pero aun así, acotar, o cortar, tramas podría haber sido un buen camino, pero tampoco seamos tan duros con una serie que se mantuvo muy por encima de las expectativas.
Y no solo Tomlin merece reconocimiento, Sorrentino, como siempre, se luce, logrando la atmosfera perfecta.

Un desenlace totalmente coherente con la propuesta y visión de Mattson Tomlin del personaje. Pocas veces podemos ver cómo afectaría realmente su cruzada personal a Bruce Wayne y las consecuencias de ser Batman. Quizás el leit motiv de la miniserie peque de irrelevante, pero la verdadera amenaza de esta historia no es física y proviene directamente de Bruce.
Ahora a esperar a ver cuánto de El Impostor nos encontraremos en The Batman.

Gostei muito como se deu a conclusão do mistério, uma história mais séria e madura, com um foco em investigação bem legal, a arte é incrível e a composição dos quadros é muito boa e muito bem feito, além de criativa, achei interessante essa vertente diferente do Batman, é um Bruce diferente do habitual, também é legal acompanhar o Batman com pouco tempo de carreira e ver ele tendo dificuldades, é uma ótima HQ

Seriously good story but, man, quite morally murky and gritty. This is a cop drama at its heart and it does so with aplomb. You're left feeling sorry for everyone at the end of this but, despite the gloom, you do get a slight bit of hope at the end that Batman is still trying to help people. Not your standard superhero fare but definitely worth a read.

Strong finale, the pacing was a little wonky but the overall arc was perfect. Hopefully Mattson Tomlin writes more comics.
