Little Bunny is an only child who gets lonely sometimes. One night, he decides he’d rather have a sleepover with a friend than spend one more night alone. Though his friends welcome him one by one, there’s always something that keeps Little Bunny from getting to sleep. Will he ever be able to find a good night’s rest?
I really enjoyed the art of this book. It was reminiscent of illustrations in the books I read growing up. The artist utilized a lovely, cool range of colors, and the pictures often took up the whole page.
Throughout his quest for good sleep, Little Bunny got a little rude in some places, such as shouting at Owl to turn out the lights in his own house. While this isn’t ideal, it could be a good way to talk to your kids about politely addressing situations that are frustrating.
Overall, this is a cute book that could be a fun read when children are having a difficult time getting to sleep.
I received a complimentary copy of this work through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Little Bunny is a single child and loves it most of the time. But one day, he feels lonely. He doesn’t want to sleep on his own. He decides to go to his friend’s place for a sleepover. He moves from one house to another, the squirrel to skunk to porcupine, bear, and owl.
None of the places are comfortable for different reasons. Finally, he gets back home and realizes that his bed is the best place to be.
The story is simple and cute. Little B gives his reason for not being able to sleep at the friends’ places and moves to another. He says please and thank you too. Just one part I didn’t like was when he yells in the owl’s house. You don’t do that, kiddo. But then, he was tired from constantly moving around when he should have been sleeping. Anyway, parents can explain it to the kids.
The illustrations are very well done. The detailing is pretty, and the color scheme sets the tone of the book. Kids will enjoy this one.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and NorthSouth Books and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
Little Bunnys Sleepless Night is an adorable illustrated children's book about a little bunny who can't sleep. He goes to all of his friends asking to sleep at theirs and they all say yes bit little bunny can't sleep - eventually, exhausted, he goes home to his own bed which had never looked so inviting before. This us such an adorable and funny read for children and I loved every page! I couldn't help but giggle at some of the illustrations and the humour within them - children will absolutely love each and every page! I definitely want to get a paper copy of this sweet and humorous read!
Little Bunny's Sleepless Night is such a cute story. I had fun reading it and just loved the adorable illustrations. The illustrations are what brought the story to life. And if you can add sound effects for the C-R-U-N-C-H, the snoring and an Eeeww! for the skunk, even better. It's an entertaining read that is sure to fetch ear to ear smiles to the little listeners. Five delightful stars.
I received a digital ARC from North South Books. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.
Being an insomniac and night owl who's all too familiar with sleepless nights, I didn't hesitate to grab this adorable picture book. What a cute and delightful read! It was exactly the perk-me-up that I needed.
Not only did I enjoy meeting Little Bunny and all his friends, I was also pleasantly surprised by the takeaway (I went into this blind). I loved the art style as well, especially since it reminded me of some of my childhood books and had me feeling nostalgic. Very whimsical, charming and heartwarming indeed.
Thank you to North South Books and Netgalley for an ARC of this book.
My first impression upon seeing the opening pages was that this book looks like one of the old storybooks I had as a kid. Like the Bernstein Bears or Teddy goes to xxx books. I absolutely love the traditional illustrations! Then we get into the story and it's lovely! Perfect amounts of text per page, a wonderful rhythm to it that makes it easy to read (and no big words to stumble over).
Words are good, illustrations are good. Only one last thing to make sure is suitable for a children's book: the plot or purpose of the story. Our poor little lead character, a bunny, is having trouble sleeping alone. So he tries to go to some friends houses to sleep but finds them a little less than ideal. Between quills prickling him, snoring bears, and a stinky skunk; our bunny decides that home, all alone, in his big bed is the best place for him!
Perfect for the transition to a 'big kid' bed for your toddler. Or for any child having trouble staying in their room or on their own bed. I would recommend this one in a heartbeat to anyone raising an only child, or an anxious kiddo when it comes to sleeping. It's perfect in just about every way; just like bunnies bed!
Please note: I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is an honest and unbiased review.
This is a gorgeous children's book, with beautiful images that children will adore. The characters of the book are so cute - we have little Bunny who is very lonely and he cannot get to sleep, so he tries to sleep with his friends Squirrel, Skunk, Porcupine, Bear, and Owl, but they are all too annoying to sleep with, so he ends up back in his own bed where he feels better.
My daughter and I loved this book, and we recommend it highly!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.
Thank you to NetGalley & North South Books Inc., NorthSouth Books for the opportunity to review this book. My daughter really enjoyed me reading this fun book to her. She loved the illustrations too.
One night little bunny, who is an only child, wakes up and feels very lonely. He cannot get back to sleep so he decides to ask one of his friends if he can stay with him overnight. He hops next door to his friend squirrel. Kind Squirrel, without any hesitation, invites little bunny in and shares his bed with him. The sleepover does not go well due to a crunchy middle of the night snack by his rodent friend. Little bunny is unable to sleep because of the loud crunching sounds and so he heads off to see if Skunk will take him in. Another fiasco with Skunk sends him off to Porcupine, then on to Bear, and finally to Owl's home. Oh my will he ever get some sleep?
Even though his friends graciously invite little Rabbit in and even share their bed with him something always happens to disturb his slumber causing little bunny to pack up his stuffed bunny buddy and head back home.
What awaits him there is just what he needs to finally curl up, drift off and get a wonderful, deep, relaxing sleep at last. AHHHHHH! Can you guess what he discovers?
This delightful book is back in print and is a perfect choice to share at bedtime. It highlights loneliness, acceptance, kindness, friendship and problem solving. The illustrations are enriching and the diverse animal characters are adorable. The final wrap up is... there's no place like home. I love the story and highly recommend it!
Little Bunny's Sleepless Night was about a Little Bunny who feels lonely sleeping alone, and he sets out to find somewhere new to sleep. He starts off with his friend Squirrel, and after being awaken in the middle of the night because of Squirrels midnight snack, Little Bunny leaves to try sleeping at another friends house. Each time Little Bunny falls asleep easily but is then awaken in the middle of the night. Little Bunny still can't find a nice place to sleep without being alone, so finally his friend Owl tells Little Bunny to go home where he belongs. After returning home, Little Bunny can finally get some sleep, and he is too tired to be alone.
I really enjoyed reading Little Bunny's Sleepless Night. The story offered some humor, and I found myself giggling when Little Bunny smelled something gross while staying over at Skunk's house. The book is cute, and I think it would be a great bedtime story for a child of any age who is having a hard time sleeping. Little Bunny goes through so many obstacles to try not to feel lonely, but the only place that was right for him was home in his very own bed. The story seems lengthy, but it really is short and sweet with amazing illustrations covering every single page.
What a unique perspective to share with young readers!!
Little Bunny is having trouble sleeping because he is lonely, so he goes to a few of his friends to stay at their house. At each friend's home he finds something that hinders him from falling asleep. And in the end, he finds “there’s no place like home”. What I found most distinctive about this story is first, the use of manners. Little Bunny tells each friend “thanks for having me but I cant sleep here because” and lets his friends know why he is unable to sleep there. I think it is wonderful to teach children as early as possible to respectfully communicate even if it is something they don’t like or don’t want. Next, I found it very powerful to teach children that it is ok to feel lonely and to learn to accept it. We, as parents, often want to “fix” feelings of boredom, loneliness and even sadness but it is an important life lesson to learn to sit with these emotions and get through them.
A charming tale with a mix of important life lessons—LOVE IT!!
Grateful to have received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley & North South Book Inc.
Cuddle up with your preschooler as you read Little Bunny's Sleepless Night, a charming, beautifully illustrated bedtime story about little bunny’s nighttime adventures. An only bunnychild, he’s lonely and can’t go to sleep so he decides to visit his friends for a sleepover. Squirrel, Skunk, Porcupine, Bear and Owl each let him into their beds but each has a habit that keeps bunny awake. Finally, he goes back home and falls asleep in his own comfortable bed. Little Bunny's Sleepless Night is a sweet, simple story guaranteed to both comfort and delight. 5 stars.
Thank yo to NetGalley, North South Books and Carol Roth for this ARC.
This fun little read may be a little too adventuresome to be the last-thing-at-night book, but whenever you read it will be well appreciated. Little Bunny, with no siblings or anything, gets lonely one night, and so calls on all the friends he can think of in his neighbourhood asking for a sleepover. One by one they all say yes – and then one by one they provide a good excuse for Little Bunny to regret the choice and move on. Until the inevitable. It's a good advert for home comforts, and how what is perfect for someone might be horridly awful for someone else, and it's certainly got the visual appeal to justify a 2022 reprint. Four and a half stars.
This book is what my grandma would always read me when I stayed the night over there and I love this book! The book is cute, and would be a great bedtime story for a child of any age who is having a hard time sleeping. Little Bunny goes through so many obstacles to try not to feel lonely, but the only place that was right for him was home in his very own bed. The illustrations are just perfect for this story and are very sweet. This book has been one of my favorites since I was 4 and still is!
I really love the illustrations. I thought the story was cute, however I wish Little Bunny was much more gracious towards his guests welcoming in his home. While he did say "thank you" he always included the reason he couldn't stay and it didn't sound very polite. And to the owl, he yelled "Put out that light!" I feel there is a better way to teach children how to appreciate being an only child.
A story about a bunny who gets too lonely to sleep alone so he goes around asking his diverse animal neighbors/friends to see if he can sleep with them to feel less lonely. This is a good book for children with no siblings and for children who love stories with animals. The graphics are nostalgic for me and remind me of the Little Critter Collection. A good theme about appreciating what you have.

Little Bunny’s Sleepless Night is a engaging story about being thankful for what you have.
Little bunny couldn’t sleep because he was lonely. So he decides to go sleep at his friend squirrel’s house, but he’s to noisy eating acorns in the night. From there he visits multiple other animal friends before deciding to come back to his own bed.
The illustrations and beautiful and my son thought the story was really funny.
Cute bedtime story for kids. A little sleepy bunny is lonely all alone in his bed so he decides to visit a friend for some sleepover company. But he finds everyone sleeps a bit different and has a hard time trying several friends. He decides to go home to his own bed and is finally able to sleep. The artwork for the book is cute and fun. Reminds me of books I read as a child. The downside for me is that the words don't always flow seamlessly. But still a book I would read to my children.

Little Bunny couldn't sleep because he was so lonely. So he thought maybe he could sleep if he was with a friend. He visited his friends, but at each house there was a problem and he couldn't sleep there. Finally after not being able to sleep at his friend Owl's house, he got some really good advice, There's no place like home! This is a really cute children's book and I have to say my favorite parts had to be the reasons why he couldn't sleep at each house.
The message is wherever you go, whatever you do, nowhere is like home. You might have your challenges at home; the difficulties are everywhere, and, by the way, after searching a lot outside, you will find comfort inside...inside your home. The answer is within you. Apart from this metaphoric interpretation, I think it is captivating for children to follow the bunny adventure and find what they have that is more worthy than what they think others have.
Little bunny is lonely because no one else lives with him and sometimes he gets scared at night. One night he thinks that maybe he would feel less lonely if he had another friend to cuddle with at night. But then he realizes that there are downsides to sharing space as well, including loud sounds and smells!
The cover of this book is what drew me to it. All of the illustrations are so well drawn. This book is perfect for a kids bedtime story. The book is about a bunny that is too lonely to sleep so he goes to all his friends houses hoping to sleep over. In the end he realizes his own be is just perfect.
