Born and raised in Chicago, IL, writing has always been a passion for Jessica Cage. She dabbles in artistic creations of all sorts but at the end of the day, it's the pen that her hand itches to hold. Jessica had never considered following her dream to be a writer because she was told far too often "There is no money in writing." So she chose the path most often traveled. During pregnancy she asked herself an important question. How would she be able to inspire her unborn son to follow his dreams and reach for the stars, if she never had the guts to do it herself? Jessica decided to take a risk and unleash the plethora of characters and their crazy adventurous worlds that had previously existed only in her mind, into the realm of readers. She did this with hopes to inspire not only her son but herself. Inviting the world to tag along on her journey to become the writer she has always wanted to be. She hopes to continue writing and bringing her signature Caged Fantasies to readers everywhere.

I have to first start with the amazing characters. They are dynamic and bold. The stories were brought together so smoothly. The stories being intertwined made for exciting and adventurous events. There was drama and twists. I had to read it twice before I could do this review. Jessica painted a beautiful picture of Novia. I could see the events as I read the words. I am so excited to read Book 2. This was amazing. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

From the first line I was pulled in. I fell into the world of Novia and in love with the characters. Even though the individual stories aren’t long she manages to tell their story fully and made it easy to connect with the characters. I was able to emphasize with each person and experience their journey.
At the end of it all, I was craving for the next book. She connected all the stories to a supreme dragon filled climax and leaves you turning the page for the next chapter.
Loved the diversity of the characters including lgbt+ and non binary but it wasn’t forced or thrown in.
I highly recommend this book/experience of a new world. . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

So I will say I did really enjoy the authors writing style/description etc and the inclusive of more diverse characters.

I didn't feel like the short stories really did the world building justice; as soon as I started to get the character/story it was over. I would have preferred a longer novel first, and then supplement the world with a series of short stories.

I did like how each story somewhat fed into the next story, the first one was the best, and then they just fizzled out afterward.. again it all comes down to not being invested in any of the characters.

I would absolutely read more of this authors work though, I think I would really enjoy a longer novel.

I received this free via booksprout

Things set in motion

A fairy whose impulsively causes major repercussions, a captive vampire finally set free who finds a treasure but is forced to let it go, a witch held captive by her own parent finds freedom only to become permanently captive never to be released, a shadow walker who helped a friend gain moments of happiness to only be punished for this same act then pulled from prison and to go on a journey that will most likely end in death. A peacekeeper who is bound to the traditions of his kind is tasked with preventing war. All of these stories and more come together to set the stage for an epic series taking us through Novia that is filled with danger, suspense, friendships, love, and action.

Great read so far!

I go into books blind because I feel what the characters feel. This book was an amazing read. I feel in love with each character. I thought Remy would be my favorite, but it turns out I still can't choose. This book was so well written. It was a real page turner. I love being on this ride, and honestly, I am in knots trying to figure out what is gonna happen to Gemini. I am impatiently waiting for the next 3 books I ordered. Yes, all 3, no more wondering for me. I recommend this series to anyone who loves a good captivating story with amazing characters ❤️. Jessica Cage is my favorite author. I do not believe this woman would ever disappoint when writing a story.

Wow.....just wow....

Jessica Cage is definitely one of my favorite authors! I was so ready to read this book, and all of the stories were wonderful. I enjoyed the wide variety of characters and each character's story. The stories are all interconnected, and that alone gives me a greater appreciation for the author's mind and creativity. I can't wait to read the next books in the installment.
I know that this dragon queen is about to reek havock!!! Excellent job, Jessica Cage!!

I got this book because I loved watching the author's Tiktok lives. I recommend Tales of Novia for book club, and it was picked for April 2024.
I loved how perfectly the separate stories of characters blended together. This was probably the best book I have read that has multiple stories in one. It was easy to understand and follow the connections. Every decision made by the characters affected the other stories. In many instances, these we unexpected and shocked me in a good way.
I am very happy that I bought Tales of Novia. I am excited to read the rest of the series 🥰

OMG! This book was so good! How one story flowed to another was so good and creative. I like stories that are interconnected that way. The characters was so good and fully fleshed out and although flawed you still root for them. This left me wanting more. I cannot wait until Volume 2 comes out.

I thought that this was a page turner and that each story ended at the sweet spot. I would definitely recommend to this to anybody who loves reading about mythical and magical creatures as they go on adventures, fight dark forces and possibly fall in love. After reading the last chapter I can’t wait to see what is in store for Novia. .

This was the first book I’ve read by Ms. Cage and the only thing I’m mad about is that I didn’t read her books sooner. I follow her on TikTok and have been watching Tales of Novia come to life. The stories weren’t long but they definitely pack a punch. The characters were amazing. The way Ms. Cage described everything made it to where you could visualize it all. I can’t wait to read the entire series and will definitely be purchasing the physics copies!!

I have mixed feelings about this book The world has potential, would be great to see some stories really fleshed out. I didn’t realise it was 3 short stories. They felt unfinished and maybe they will resolve in a later volume in the series.

The book could do with a good edit, even just to clean up typos and standardise tenses within sentences. I thought the world was good, but not sure if I’ll read any more books in this series

Vampires and Daemons and Witches, oh my!

I am loving this style of writing, with the characters, storyline, and don't forget the twists and turns. They say that a good story will take you on an adventure. Well be prepared to do some travelling with the different characters to the many different places that only Jessica Cage can bring to life. I can't wait for Book 2.

A Good Read…

I think this book was a good read… I think the stories in the book let me feeling like it wasn’t giving enough. The stories at the ending felt rushed. I may give book 2 a try but I think I may need to lower my expectations .
