The Rogue Queen was actually the third book I read in Rory McCauley-Hayman’s world, and I really wish I had started with this one first. I originally began with Vampire’s Servant, then read Feral Heart, and only now realized that The Rogue Queen is where it all truly begins. Even reading it out of order, it still completely pulled me in and made me appreciate the series even more.

Rory has a writing style that always draws me into the story. Her characters feel real, the dialogue flows naturally, and she balances action, emotion, romance, and humor in a way that keeps me hooked from beginning to end.

This story follows a young rogue wolf shifter who has spent her life surviving on the fringes, never truly belonging anywhere. When she’s suddenly pulled into something much bigger than herself, secrets begin to unravel and everything she thought she knew about her world is turned upside down. I loved watching her growth—it felt genuine and earned, especially since she doesn’t magically have all the answers right away.

The romance was another highlight for me. It develops naturally alongside the plot instead of taking over, which made it feel more meaningful. The chemistry between the characters was strong, and I found myself just as invested in their relationship as I was in the overall story.

For anyone wondering about spice, I’d rate it around 3.5–4/5. There are definitely some steamy moments, but they’re balanced well with the storyline and never feel overwhelming.

What really made this a five-star read for me was how everything came together. The world-building felt immersive without being confusing, and now that I’ve read other books in the series, I can see how important this one is as the foundation. It honestly made me wish I had started here first.

Rory McCauley-Hayman continues to be one of my favorite paranormal romance authors. No matter what supernatural world she’s writing in, she always creates stories that are engaging, emotional, and hard to put down. If you’re planning to dive into this series, definitely start with The Rogue Queen—you won’t regret it.

When I started this story I wasn't sure how I would like it. It was intriguing but slow for me. Once Bellamy met Lucian though, I was completely hooked. So many amazing characters but Bellamy is probably one of my all time favorites for female leads.

I absolutely loved this book. The characters were well thought out along with the different scenarios the author placed them in. It's truly a captivating story if you allow yourself to get pulled in.

The beginnings of a new supernatural world where everyone is accepted (as long as you aren't evil!) Some totally amazing characters have been created throughout the whole series.

An amazing story with a twist on supernaturals and their natures. Bellamy is a Queen that any one would be glad to have rule over them.

When I started reading this book, I was expecting a regular werewolf romance, but, man, was I wrong....

It's one of the most interesting book I read recently. It has everything, a kick-ass heroine, a hero who is not just an Yes man to the heroine once mated, and a wonderful array of supporting characters that will steal your heart. Definitely a very good read.
