Every leader has a mythos, and Tetrarch Holliday's will be written in blood...

Doc never wanted to be in charge; but now that he is, nothing is going to stop him from protecting the people of the Hidden. As Doc fights to undo all of Mitcham's remaining schemes and free those trapped in Blackwater Prison, it becomes clear that not everyone approves of his leadership. Thankfully, Doc couldn't care less; and he's more than happy to take on anyone who's foolish enough to stand in his way...

Fans of edgy characters look no further! If you're into badass, morally ambiguous, anti-heroes who don't flinch at killing bad guys (and stealing their souls) then this is the series for you! It has the perfect blend of supernatural action, humor, and mystery that you crave.

Hi, I'm M.M. Crumley Your Author Extraordinaire (Also Known as M.M. Boulder)

As M.M. Crumley I write Urban Fantasy books full of supernatural action, nail-biting-mystery and; laugh-out-loud humor. Why? Because stories, myths, and legends have always been a huge part of my life... As a child, I liked nothing better than to lose myself in a world where magic and heroes were part of the fabric of existence.

As my pen name M.M. Boulder I write psychological thrillers and murder mysteries that bring the darker impulses we may not feel completely comfortable with into the light. My stories are full of lies and deaths, but there is always justice. A type of justice that's not afraid to get its hands dirty. I write morally ambiguous characters who are pushed to their limits and take matters into their own hands. In my world getting away with murder has never been so much fun!

No matter what I write every one of my characters are real to me. They exist. They are three-dimensional beings who demand that their stories be told. If I were to turn away from them, they would haunt me; and so I don't. Instead I chase after them and write down everything they say!

I have several series to help you scratch your itch for adventure:
THE HOUSE OF GRAVES Series
THE IMMORTAL DOC HOLLIDAY Series
THE LEGEND OF ANDREW RUFUS Series
JANEY FALKE: SAINT KILLER Series (Coming Soon)

4 You Can't Just Go Around Shoving Bloody Stumps At People Stars

Omens is the seventh book in The Immortal Doc Holliday series by M. M. Crumley.

I'm thankful to finally learn some of Jervis' most closely guarded secrets. It's so desperately saddening how he lost his family. But to see this burden lifter from his shoulders. To travel these pages as he accepts Sami into his life in whatever amount of happiness they may grant each other, has only allowed me to enjoy his presence more. Him and Doc have such an interesting relationship to one another. It tends to play really well alongside what Doc shares with Jury.

I hope we do learn more about the importance of his Throne in the Dreaming. Other than that he somehow built it himself, without intending to? That was a very pointed question regarding the sixty bones that make up its facade.. But it also seems to tie rather well into his shifting mood. Just when he was in a place to accept and hear from those he has loved over the years they always appear. Now whether they are true figments of the people he knew, or just creations of his mind is still a question I would like the answer to.

I wonder what the witches have in store for Doc and his motley crew, next? What the destruction of Blackwater Prison will bring? Whether any of the prisoners have retained any sanity within its confines?

But mostly I can't wait to see where the Baker children take us next. I'm so happy that they've officially joined the family.

This is a fun series, that balances adventure, horror, comedy, and good characters in almost equal measures. I wasn't quite as fond of the 7 book Andrew Rufus detour that the series has taken, but now that I'm back in the Doc books, I'm happy to be here.

I would have give 4 stars, but I think Crumley sometimes wastes time with a little too much snappy dialogue. I love LOVE witty dialogue, but six or seven pages worth gets a little old and I start to skim.

The characters are already so well defined by now, that I think it's unnecessary to lean so hard into using dialogue in this manner.

Onward to the next book! I still recommend this to anyone who likes easy, enjoyable reads, with a new twist on Urban Fantasy.

Doc is still trying to clean up and improve the Hidden but he has a lot to do. He is also still looking for Solomon and that is not easy either.
While Doc is meeting with some new witches, he is drawn into the crossroads and learns a bit more about power as well as ways to get information, something that Solomon wants.
This book gives a lot more about Jervis’s background as it is part of the Solomon problem.
There is lots of action again – Doc really is an efficient killer - , surprises, humour and a bit of mystery.
Per usual, Jury is extremely helpful, his appetite after doing a lot of magic is amazing.
The characters are well written with wonderful interactions.
I’m just loving this series, on to the next book happily.

M.M. Crumley has another great tale!

Doc isn't just a gambler, relying on his luck. For luck is a part of him. It's his Power. He faces yet more adversity, trying to make a terrible situation better. Despite having to kill to live, he has made himself into a paragon of what is Right.

If you like compelling, character driven stories that make you examine your world view in a different light, full of action and adventure, then definitely read this series.

I have read up to this book (number seven) in just under a couple weeks. I love the snark and sarcasm of our main character, Doc. I like the types/uses of magic the author has created in this world, and how it works amongst all characters. Bringing a character from the Old West into a magical, modern day world is a different story idea that definitely captured my attention. I look forward to the nexxt two books as they come out next year!

I love it when a main character’s friendships are expanded with equally enjoyable characters that just round out the whole story. This series has done that in spades. (card pun intended) Just when I thought I couldn’t love this series and the characters more Jervis told Addison a story. ❤️ Every book has been a delight to read.

Absolutely Gorgeous

I've read seven books in this series and usually I start to get bored after five, but this series is absolutely fantastic and it keeps getting better the further I read.

This story was absolutely gorgeous giving us some more information and background on Jervis. Made me adore him

Doc takes on....

This is probably my favorite book in the series so far. Details about Jarvis, Doc being himself and getting some new insights. Of course Doc is still Doc Holliday and not afraid to take on the myriad of obstacles thrown his way.

Excellent series!

I love this series! Flawed but loveable characters, plenty of action and a main character driven by justice. Absolutely excellent!

One complaint: better proofreading and editing is needed. Not a ton of errors, but enough to make me roll my eyes.

I got hooked on the series "Right off the Bat". Been ignoring other series I've been reading. Fast Paced, lots of action and fairly short stories. Easy to read in a few hours in 2 days, OR 1 day (as I've done on a couple of them).

Enjoyed

The series is a joy to read. It's great to be able to read a series just for fun. Even with a few dark spots, on the whole, the stories are upbeat.

There’s almost no time

There’s almost no time for me to write a review. I need to read book 8. This one ended with a real cliffhanger. I don’t think that’s spoiler.

Loved the whole series so far. Can't wait for the other 2 books to come out. Characters are well defined and I found Doc and his companions very endearing. It is interesting to follow the characters as they tackle one issue after the other, coming up with unique strategies along the way. I'm now starting the Andrew Rufus series with high expectations for the same level of character development and adventure.
