What happens when you fly across an ocean in hopes of finding your fated mate, only to find them in your homeland?
Aleric expected more when he moved across the ocean with his parents. But an empty mountain wasn’t it. When he dreams of a blue-eyed dragon, he sets out to his homeland to rescue who he hopes is his fated mate. After all, he’s listening to his dragon, and he’s never led him astray yet.
Konrad knows not why he and his friends are chained to the walls in the castle that has become his prison, and something is stealing their strength to keep them from breaking free. When an unknown alpha comes to their rescue, Konrad finds not only a savior but a mate as well. But is Aleric willing to give up the new life across the ocean for one in a village?
Aleric and Konrad find themselves not only learning to move on from tragedy but how to love and survive in a completely new place. Konrad has lost everything, and his family line is nothing near what Aleric’s is. Can his mate’s parents accept him when he comes to them with nothing?
Aleric is book one in the Destined Paranormals series. This is the final series in the shared world of the Paranormal Council. Aleric is a fated mate MPREG story with plenty of sexy times and lots of hot dragons.
This book was previously part of the YBBB giveaway. Approximately 30,000 words have been added to the original story.
Aleric is Destined Paranormal book one. I had originally read this when is was part of the YBBB. The author expanded it. I loved it then and love it even more now. There is more back story and clarification. Aleric follows his parents to the mountain they now call home not knowing that he’s find his mate in the place they left. He feels the pull to go back and finds his mate being help captive along with his friends. Loved, loved, loved Konrad and Aleric! I have always loved them but getting their origins was even more! Overall, a fantastic read, well written with pacing that kept me flipping the pages until I was done reading!
The writing on this could be better. It’s very slow and there’s a lot of time spent covering mundane tasks like eating and cleaning. I got a third of the way into it, and the two dragons FINALLY had met and it was just instant agreement that they wanted to be mates.
Clearly other people didn’t mind the pacing, but this one’s just too slow for me
Definitely a stand alone prequel, you didn’t need to know anything from the previous series. There are a lot of unanswered questions though. I liked the characters though after the rescue I found it a little boring.
Geez, having no luck today. My second DNF for the day.
At 30% and the author is taking pages to drop fish, make a fire, realize the fish are far away, get the fish, and on and on.. Could we not say, "My mate cooked the fish?" DNF.
‘Aleric’ was originally released as part of Prolificworks Your Book’s Boyfriend's Boyfriend yearlong giveaway. This version has been expanded to add a lot more background information which I really enjoyed and definitely helped give so much more perspective to the characters.
We enjoy Aleric’s perspective before he and his fathers moved to the mountain, and Konrad’s family dynamic before they meet. We get to experience the early days where it’s just the 4 of them (Aleric, Konrad and his fathers) on the mountain and the family dynamic that plays out. As we have met and enjoyed seeing them pop in and out of the series as background characters and Emmerich and Reinhold’s fathers in their own stories, we get more of the origin story of the dragon family who first settled the mountain at the behest of their goddess. I loved getting a certain story from Rylan which is the first time in all of her paranormal crossover series we get this particular one.
While I enjoyed the YBBB version (and it was literally the first one I read after downloading almost the entire YBBB offering) having an expanded version of ‘Aleric’ really helped fill in some of the gaps that I felt were missing from the original version. It is a great addendum to an already wonderful Paranormal Council Enforcers series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This was very obviously a prequel to a series as this book felt like it was mostly setup for the coming series while having very little of interest with the present couples.
Aleric came with his parents to their new home but he feels compelled to return to Germany and eventually does so. There he finds his mate which gives him hope for his own life and family, but first he has to save his mate and the friends, and also find out what happened to their families.
The part of finding his mate had a lot of build up to very little reward. When the two meet it is all about saving them, which turns out to be really easy and makes it a bit odd that an entire village of dragons was so overrun by humans (though apparently Aleric is larger and stronger than dragons were in their village). Then once they mate they have a lot of unnecessary angst, from issues with living spaces and the figuring out of pregnancy. It all was rather boring and just felt like it was building a group of characters to base a series off of, but wasn't much going on in this book. It doesn't really inspire much need to read the rest of the series either.
This is an expanded version of the original free story. There’s an extra 8 chapters that add a lot more depth to Aleric and Konrad’s story. The first few chapters give further detail on Konrad before and after his captivity. They also give little bit more information on Aleric’s life prior to the move overseas. I enjoyed the original version but this just gives their story more oomph!
Aleric crosses the ocean to find his fated mate Konrad. Circumstances require them to wait a bit before being able to claim each other but when they do it’s gets steamy. After flying back across the ocean they get even more steamy resulting in a pregnancy. Konrad is then introduced to Aleric’s parents and finds himself another family to part of.
I really enjoyed this revamped version of Konrad and Aleric’s origin story, it’s a great set up for the Destined Paranormals series, is easy to read and there’s dragons!
Aleric followed his parents to a new land, yet knew something was missing from his own life. A mate. That emptiness was going to continue to eat at him until fulfilled. The dreams continued to call to Aleric from Germany. Dreams of Konrad would continue to call from his homeland. He ends up not only rescuing his mate, but several other kidnapped omegas that had been taken by humans with nefarious plans. Despite the need to get to know his mate Konrad, Aleric continued to help the other omegas until they were strong enough to fly on their own. While trying to search for their thunder, it was discovered that all the dragons on the mountain were killed. Turns out, this would not be the last time the some of the omega dragons would see one another. Two of them made the trip across the ocean to reunite with Konrad and Aleric. Bringing extra surprises with them.
I can't wait to see what this new mpreg series will bring.

Konrad knows not why he and his friends are chained to the walls in this castle, and something is stealing their strength to keep them from breaking free. Will they ever get out of there? When an unknown alpha comes to their rescue, Konrad finds not only a savior, but mate as well. Aleric is the prequel to the anticipated Paranormal Council Enforcers series. This is a fated mate MPREG story with plenty of sexy times and hot dragons. Aleric and Konrad are dragon mates. Both are male but only one is an alpha. I received this book from the author. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Bjo.
I hadn't realized the author had started this series. So, of course, I had to dive in and get caught up. It's been 11 months since I last read the book Benjamin. Once i was caught up there, i dove into this one. There are so many amazing characters, and it's a bit difficult to recall who all belongs to who and where they fit in. Definitely need some sort of family chart. I mean, I definitely recognize names, but I read so dang much that sometimes a refresher at the beginning would be super helpful. I love that this took us all the way to the beginning of how they came to be at the mountain. Love these two.
I decided to read this series as I have read most of her other work and found them to be decent, if basic stories. Really nice to just relax with. This story is not like the others I have read. Yes, it has the basic character development and a fairly straightforward plot with the same type of internal angst as the others. Yes, it is in the same world - it is filling in the little gaps and questions that surround the other series. What it does not have is interest and I hope it is just this one and not the entire series.
While I quite enjoyed the story, I also thought it needed work. *Sorry! I hate putting stuff like this in comments. However, I did feel it needed more details. Seemed a bit choppy. Pieces missing here and there. Conversations too formal-ish.Would I read more of the series? Probably. Because, oh yes, it has some great potential that I am hoping and looking forward to reading the other characters stories.
3 and a half stars rounded up to 4 because... dragons! And knotting, and fated mates! So, this story was OK. Nothing truly great, but not bad either. It was too much telling, and not showing. I would have loved to know what either was thinking, and going through as they met their fated mate, and how much that affected them personally.
So, as much as I love paranormal romance, this book did not compel me to continue with the rest of the series.
This is Aleric and Konrad’s story. It was nice to have a historical story to give us some backstory for the Paranormal Council Enforcers series. The world and character development are first rate! These two we’re just…sigh. So sweet and loving and the family unit was so warm and wonderful. Gave me all the warm fuzzies I needed right now. This is definitely a a story I will return too when I need a warm comfortable read. Thank you Taylor!
When it was a short story, it set the stage for a whole new part of the Paranormal world. Now expanded to a full-length novel, we get important information to explain things that have been hinted at along the way. Aleric and Konrad's story is very sweet, poignant, and saucy. Even if you've already read all the books in the series, this will help set up the stories that yet to come... bravo, Taylor Rylan... bravo!
This is a paranormal romance, it’s set in Taylor Rylan’s paranormal omegaverse and I’m not sure if you need to read these books in order. This story goes back to the 1700’s when the community on top of the mountain top in Montana first was established. We read about Reinhold’s parents’ love story and how he came to be in the world! It was a very interesting read and I definitely recommend it!
This is a good story about finding your mate. Aleric, an Alpha dragon leaves his parents nest to go find his mate. He finds him being held captive with other dragons. Aleric’s mate is Konrad. This story does not go into detail about why the dragons were being held captive. I hope that comes late. Alaric frees the dragons and then he and Konrad must make some very tough decisions.
No spoilers of any kind included! So all I will say about this book Aleric is I loved it I loved getting lost within its pages, and I’ll leave it at that! So it’s going to be a big HECK YEAH I most definitely will recommend this book to anyone who wanting an awesome story to climb into and totally lose themselves within it!
A great start to what will sure be an amazing series. I loved all these guys, the history and backstory...the character development and side characters too. I enjoyed watching the events unfold and as always love the concept of fated mates and magic--my favorite sub genre. Lots of little questions that I'm hoping get answered in time as the series continues!
Getting this glimpse into how Aleric and Konrad came together is amazing and gives another glimpse into this world. It is always a joy when you get the backstory of a couple and what happened with them in the beginning.
Such a great story! The future holds so many wonderful possibilities and so many questions. But the love between Aleric and Konrad is only full of wonderful possibilities! I am hoping future books show us how Konrad's friends found their mates and hea's. Absolutely loved Aleric's fathers!
I am not sure how I didn’t read this one before I started the rest of the Paranormal Council series. But this one is a stand-alone and can be read as that. We get a peek into the past that is Aleric and his mate. It will be interesting to see who else discovers their cave.
This story serves as a prequel to the Paranormal Council series. An enjoyable tale of the first dragon's on the mountain, as well as the story of how Konrad and Aleric met. The book ends with the birth of Reinhold. Fast, short. Fun.
I love this expanded version of Aleric and Konrad's story! I love reading their story in the original version but I absolutely love getting more info on these two story. Taylor Rylan definitely doesn't disappoint. I can't wait for more stories in this amazing world that has been created.
