The Secret of Light

Rate this book
This book explains the nature of Light and proves the existence of God by methods and standards acceptable to science and religion alike. It lays a spiritual foundation under the material one of science; one upon which the current New Age movement is built.

A century and more ahead of his time, Walter Russell, in The Secret of Light presents a unique Cosmogony, that of a universe in which Creator and Creation are proven to be a seamless, unified whole, and in which the dualism of “mind and matter” disappears.

In revelation of what he terms “natural science,” Russell presents a two-way, magnetic-electric thought-wave universe, cyclic in nature and eternally “creating,” as opposed to the “created, expanding, entropic universe” of current science.

Russell’s philosophy of the science of Being, the invisible world of Cause—the nature of consciousness, knowing, thinking, sensing, inspiration, intuition, energy, and the creative process—and the science of Expressed Being, the visible world of Effect—the nature of light, the wave structure of universal creation, the creation of the elements that make up our visible world, and the cycle nature of life and death— are proven a unified continuum.

The Secret of Light illuminates the many questions regarding the nature of “science and consciousness.” Dr. Francis Trevelyan Miller (LITT.D., LL.D.), Historical Foundations, New York, wrote in 1947 of The Secret of Light,

“I hasten to congratulate you on your epoch-making achievement in giving the world The Secret of Light. In this little volume, with its tremendous magnitude of thought, you have given Science and human knowledge a rebirth—a transmigration from its physical plane to its potential grandeur on the cosmic plane.”

“You have opened the door into the infinite—science must enter. It may hesitate; it may engage in controversy, but it cannot afford to ignore the principles you have established which eventually will revolutionize man’s concept of himself, his world, his universe, and his human problems.”

“You have done for us in the Twentieth Century what Ptolemy, Euclid, Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler did for their earlier centuries. But you have further penetrated all physical barriers and extended your discoveries into definite forms of the infinite law which created our universe and keeps it in operation with mathematical precision through the millions of years.”

“Hitherto, Science while delving into these infinite sources has not attempted to define them. It has left the terminology to the ecclesiastics and theological dialectics. You have the courage and vision to start where they leave off — to explore the creative or spiritual law which motivates everything that exists: principles of far greater import than Einstein’s relativity. I hail you as a forerunner of our New Age of Science.”

Walter Russell was a accomplished sculptor, painter and philosopher who believed that every man has consummate genius within him.
He became known as a natural philosopher and for his unified theory in physics and cosmogony.

He posited that the universe was founded on a unifying principle of rhythmic balanced interchange. This theory is laid out primarily in his books The Secret of Light and The Message of the Divine Iliad.

Russell was a polymath and also proficient in architecture, music, business and ice skating.
He became a professor at the institution he founded with his wife, the University of Science and Philosophy.

It is the Rhythmic balanced interchange between all pairs of opposite expressions which are a fundamental Universal Law of this electric wave Universe. I like how Nikola Tesla appreciated Walter's knowledge claiming that he should "lock in in the Smithsonian for 1000's of years or so till the humanity is ready".

My premise is the man knows itself in its reflection of Life, Light and Love expression. This book is a teaser about our limited understanding despite huge gains in outer knowledge. I loved how the quotes were both mysical and occultist (or a combination of spirituality and science). The main thought of the entire book is the integration of masculine and feminine expression. The book got me thinking about our masculine and feminine beyond gender to include emotional, mental, intuitive or spiritual levels. It covers creation and our subsequent development. The secret is covered up by current mis-perceptions into the nature of electricity. What the book points out is that electricity requires a deeper knowing that only light will reveal. Without deeper understanding our perceptions will continue to be limited. The language is beautiful, direct and penetrating. It awakens us to new meanings that we have overlooked. I would highly recommend this book as a source of visionary explanations in a would that apparently overlooks this.

After reading this book again and again and again, I was hooked. Mr. Walter Russell and I were to be lifelong friends. Fascinating beyond words. He goes a lot further into spiritual matters in his other works, The Message of the Divine Iliad Vol I and II.

Surprised this gets such high ratings. I like the author's presence and tone, but what he says makes no apparent sense. Maybe it's me. Can someone tell me what I'm missing?

The Secret of Light by Walter Russell is a profound and unconventional exploration of reality, consciousness, and the nature of existence. It challenges traditional scientific and spiritual perspectives, proposing that light is the fundamental essence of the universe—both the source and the substance of all creation.

Russell’s writing is dense and poetic, blending metaphysics, physics, and divine intelligence into a unified vision. He presents a universe governed by rhythmic balance, where matter, energy, and consciousness are all manifestations of a single divine principle. His ideas can be complex and abstract, requiring patience, but for those willing to engage, the book offers a transformative perspective on life and creation.

More than just a scientific or philosophical text, The Secret of Light is a call to expand one’s perception beyond the material world. It resonates most with those open to seeing science and spirituality as two sides of the same truth—a truth that is both illuminating and deeply personal.

More, please!

A good portion of the contents of this book has been known to be in a direct fashion, and for quite some time. I receive visual and nonverbal abstract information regularly. I ask the universe questions, and it brings me the answers. However, I do not approach the entire quest from a scientific angle. I visualize the functionality of it in my mind. The part that was unknown to me, is the voidance of opposite forces to a zero value. I love the way, Walter Russell laid out the periodic table, and how he explains the octaves. That gives me so much inspiration and connection with my musical inclinations. Maybe we can manage to teach our very incomplete, should I say, delinquent, senses to learn, better ways of perceive in our so-called reality? It is OK for me to know that we are living in the simulated universe. I think I can learn to play the game, even though I know that it is just make believe!

For me, it doesnt get any better than this. Fittingly i would say this book is holy. So got damn heavy!! I wish it was possible to meet Walter Russel to just be around him haha.

The secret of light explores the nature of reality in divine but simple mathematics, for me, very close to sensations experienceble in meditation, plants, divine gemoetry etc etc.
I had very deep epiphanies in cyclic matters of the non-death nature of our reality. The book is built around the idea that there is the one idea, the unmeasurable rest of "god" which trough duality is divided into the phenomenon of situations, matter etc being generated while being degenerated in divine balance

I would highly recommend this book, i had a really great time with it and wish it wasnt over hehe

Okay, take care

"The Secret of Light" is an Inspirational book that views man as the Universal Self or Absolute Consciousness. Man is not his body or his limited individual consciousness. He, on the contrary, is on a journey to the realization of his true Self which is eternal. This is a process that can take a long period of time until the individual self gradually merges into the Univeral Consciousness. This is a very difficult book that is more geared to those having expertise in physics and related fields; however, most of the central points are well within the realms of the average person. I would highly recommend this book.

Gems throughout. The first half had me enthralled, was a bit more difficult to finish the latter half. That said, reading this certainly changes the way you see yourself and the universe. Incredible to know that insights like those discussed in this book exist, and yet most humans aren’t remotely aware. How beautiful!

I expected a physics book. What I got was an esoteric religious text. I skipped to skim quickly to see if it would ever become anything else, and then gave up.

Light is the left and right hand of God. One of them is the dark light or the absence of. Everything is conditioned inside the wave field by these two opposite forces, which result in a currently Iron based spiral universe. It's the same as Boehme. Everyone seems to say the same thing, and Computer Science came along and confirmed its plausibility.
