Retired police detective Angus Darrow works on a leisurely schedule as a private investigator, sometimes aided by Charlotte Lockwood, an independently wealthy cybersecurity expert. In this novel they help Charlotte's old friend Katrina, who has been swindled out of 20,000 pounds in an online scam. The case soon involves murder as well as fraud.
The two investigators have complementary skill sets and make a good team. Both are divorced and are attracted to each other, though they've chosen not to reveal their feelings.

Excellent addition to the Lockwood and Darrow stories
I’m not trying to damn this book with faoint praise, but reading it was just like watching an episode of Shakespeare and Hathaway (my current favourites of the “cosy mystery” genre on TV). It isn’t challenging, it isn’t nauseating, it’s just nice people solving mysteries, and if that isn’t worth a read, someone should tell Richard Osman!

Brilliant concept and laugh out loud funny. Yes, there’s murder in it too. One of the best cosy mystery series I’ve read in a long time.
Just about to start the third in the series. If you love cosy mysteries with humour added then this is for you.

Well done
Loved the detail and description. As a local person I enjoyed the storyline also the humour. I wonder if it will work out for these two. Looking forward too the rest of the series.

Exe Factor by Suzy Bussell
Charlotte and Angus are after a murderer this time. It all starts with a friend of Charlotte's who has been conned by a crooked investment counselor. It's an exciting mystery at times. I'm looking forward to book number 3.
