The horses of Disney gallop out of their fairy tales—and into our world—in this third adventure in a magical new chapter book series from Kiki Thorpe, the New York Times best–selling author of the Never Girls! Ever since Maddie and her sister, Evie, moved with their family from the big city to a farm called Horsetail Hollow, it’s been one magical adventure after another. A mixed-up wish has been bringing horses from fairy tale worlds to their farm—and the sisters are the only ones who can help them save their happily-ever-afters!
Now, Maddie and Evie have agreed to leave horses in their fairy tales—after all, the fairy tales need them! When Evie’s birthday wish looks like it may not come true, though, the girls find themselves back at the wishing well. They’re looking for Belle, but it’s her horse, Philippe who just might save the day! “An inviting choice for transitional readers who love horses and Disney princess movies.” –Booklist (on Horsetail Hollow #1: Magically Maximus)
I absolutely loved Horsetail Hollow: Fearlessly Philippe! This series just keeps getting more magical, and this book might be my favorite so far.
Maddie and Evie are such easy characters to connect with, and I really enjoyed seeing how much they’ve grown since moving to Horsetail Hollow. Their bond feels real and sweet, especially in this story where Evie’s birthday wish doesn’t go as planned. It added just the right touch of emotion without losing that fun, adventurous feel.
And Philippe completely stole the show for me. I adored getting to see him step into the spotlight instead of just being “Belle’s horse.” He’s brave, loyal, and honestly just so lovable—you can’t help but root for him the whole time.
The mix of fairy tale magic and real-world farm life is still one of my favorite things about this series. It feels cozy, exciting, and a little bit whimsical all at once. Plus, the message about letting things happen the way they’re meant to (even when it’s hard) really stuck with me.
This was such a heartwarming, feel-good read, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Disney, animals, or just a little everyday magic.
I loved the way they interacted with the fairytale in this one!! The addition of new friends for the girls was a nice touch too, I think this one is my fav so far.
Although I do have to say, they may meet the "real" Belle later on through the wishing well but I think revealing what a birthday party princess performer is in a kid's book isn't the best choice imo
