I do love a great Cinderella troupe and this one ticks all of the boxes for just that, a one night stand with wealthy business man Hunter Waverly leads to consequences and Amelia Lindor makes the decision to be a single mum, but her father has other ideas that end in scandal. Come along for this sizzling journey, do they find love and happiness?
Amelia has never had a one night stand before, she hasn’t found the right man yet, her emotions are all over the place when she meets Hunter and she knows he is the right man, and he is honest and says one night only and it is a night of passion, but when she finds herself pregnant and getting in contact with Hunter is impossible, Amelia becomes a single mum, that is until her father takes it upon himself to cause one of the biggest scandals.
Hunter is wealthy and runs a big company but he and his family have lived a life of scandals thanks to his stepmother and he is doing his best to put it behind him and marry, everything is ready to go when drama happens and now Hunter is doing his best to mute a new scandal and protect the woman who is mother to his daughter.
I loved this story so much, honestly it is filled with beautiful emotions and sizzles with passion as Amelia and Hunter make their way through a mind field of decisions for the future, trying to use their minds and not their hearts, but their hearts will win over and in such a beautiful story, this is one that I would highly recommend, it did leave me smiling.
My thanks to the author for my copy to read and review.
I am so not having any luck with HP's lately. DNF after 1st or 2nd chapter..
This line from the Hero pertaining to the heroine was what finally made me call it quits!
“Zudora, I need a paternity test. Have a nurse meet us at the apartment. Kimi, get everything a two-month-old needs. Leave it in one of the guest rooms. Who has the number for the wedding planner? Let her know that Denis will come back for Amelia’s father and will arrange for his car to follow, but find him a hotel room if he prefers to stay the night. Carina, let me hear what you’ve got so far. No, don’t say that.”
“Say what?” Amelia prompted. She would really love to know what the heck was going on. Had his wedding been called off or merely postponed?
She didn’t ask, not sure she was ready for the answer.
“No. Call it a brief relationship that ended before I met Eden. I want it to be clear I wasn’t involved with her at any time while I was dating Eden.”
Amelia’s breath was punched out of her by that. She blocked out the rest and turned her face to the window.
She had no reason to be surprised or offended, she reminded herself. He had warned her not to come to his room if she expected it to go beyond that night.
---- You’re judging me.”
“No.”
She was, and it annoyed him. Was that why she hadn’t told him he had a kid? Because she was a snob who disdained wealth? In case she hadn’t noticed, she wasn’t his first choice to share parenting, either. ----
“It’s true. And you need to think about that before you spout off to Carina that we’re getting married,” she hurried to add. “It’s one thing for me to privately feel that I’m not good enough for you. It is quite another for you to put me on the front page so everyone else can think it, too.”
“Stop it,” he said curtly.
“Don’t pretend it’s not true, Hunter! What would I bring to a marriage that even comes close to what Eden offered you?”
“Our daughter,” he said sternly. “She outweighs all other considerations. She’s the reason I’m not married to Eden right now.”
“Listen to yourself!” She shot to her feet and took a few agitated steps away before she whirled on him. “You walked away from your wedding for Peyton. Not for me. I’ve said I’ll work with you to have access. That doesn’t mean we have to get married. What would I bring to our marriage besides potential for another child? Because this isn’t Victorian England, Hunter. I need to be wanted for something more than my fertility. We don’t love each other—which you’ve made clear isn’t something you want—so what do I have that you want?”
He started to speak, clacked his teeth together, then abruptly shot to his feet and walked away in the other direction. “Sex. All right?”
She choked out a laugh and waved a helpless hand. “You can get sex from anyone. If that’s all you wanted, you should have married Eden. You could be having sex right now.”
“I don’t want sex with her. I want sex with you.” He shoved his fingers through his hair, leaving it mussed. “I had to tell you not to text me. I was engaged. But if I hadn’t been—”
I'm sure others will like this one, but this reader cannot stand the disrespect the asshole showed heroine in the beginning (and I don't care how much better he may or may not get later on) and how little he thought of her to make her look like she was just a fling to the press so that he is not considered a cheater & save his relationship with OW & his company. it just made me wish I could punch this fictional character in the balls! That's not something I care to read in my fictional reads & especially when asshole characters like this can't seem to stay faithful no matter what the circumstances. Not my cuppa tea.
Safety:
Heroine was a virgin & celibate during separation Hero, even though engaged said that he did not have sex with the OW/Fiancée because "SHE wanted to wait until they got married". So that tells me that he would have definitely had sex with the OW if she let him! NO OM/OW drama. HEA
I am a big Dani Collins fan. Sometimes though, her books are either a hit or a miss for me as this one was.
First of, I LOATHE in my fictional romances when after the MCs meet and have some attraction that one of them (usually the Hero) moves on to other women! I can't tell you how much I detest this theme!
Unfortunately, that is what this Hero did! After having a ONS with heroine, he immediately meets OW at his sister's instigation and gets engaged. Some readers said it was just a business transaction, BUT while we were told he had some issues with his company that required the merger with her company, he also wanted to marry her because she was beautiful, smart & settle down to start a family with her! He made such a big thing about this in the beginning of how the marriage had to go through to the point he treated heroine awful. But then after he tells the OW they couldn't go through the wedding, suddenly the trouble & reason he supposedly was marrying the OW was never mentioned again!
So right away that told me that heroine was not anything special and it was confirmed several times for most half of the book when after realizing she was pregnant with Hero's kid (she had been a virgin), she texts/calls him to give him the news and he tells her that he moved on, is engaged to OW and for her to never text him again. Granted he didn't know she was contacting him because she was pregnant, but he still blew her off!
Then when her Father tells him about the baby, his first thought is how to save the marriage to be & his business. Then he states some really ugly things like how he wants it to be known to the press that he didn't cheat on the OW and that the heroine & him had a short fling before he met the OW. And on and on it went. Heroine kept getting hurt when he treated her as someone he got stuck with and not someone he would choose but she still took him back with no effort because apparently he is that irresistible. Lol!
We are also told towards the end that he & OW didn't have sex because the heroine wanted to wait until they got married. So here again it tells me that HE wanted the sex and most likely pushed for it if not for the OW putting the breaks.
Over & over again, heroine kept seeing how his life would have been much better with the OW such as the beautiful wedding he & she organized, pictures of them all over his homes and a house they/he purchased for them to live & start a life. He really wanted a family with the OW and had no hangups but when the heroine presented him with a ready made one, he kept questioning whether or not he would be a good father! Lol! I hate when authors write this crap! Why are they okay with having kids or marriage with OW but not so much with heroine? Can we stop that please?!
Dani Collins is one of my favourite HP writers. This is why I couldn't rate it less than two, because her writing style, her descriptions of feelings and emotions are really good. After what I read recently this book seems real great literature. Sadly this author has also some of the worst heroes in hp latest. This one had a ons with the virgin heroine, telling her that it couldn't be more than that. The heroine was a virgin and she got pregnant even if they used condoms since, as you all know, hp heroes have magical sperm that neutralized every kind of prevention. The heroine tries to text the hero but he ghost her telling her not to text him again since he's engaged. So she doesn't try to get in touch with him again. Her father though, finds out who's the cad that got his daughter pregnant and decides to turn up on his wedding day. The hero of course stops and annulls the wedding and decides to marry the heroine instead. She might not be his first choice but he's definitely a man who makes the best of what he has so he'll take one bride + one already made daughter all the same. The heroine even if she would have liked at least a man who was enamoured with her, accepts because of the daughter and the gret sex. All is very cool and polite and passionless, and I was so sad. -The situation should have been very angsty but it wasn't. The heroine is not in love with the hero and of course he's not in love with her, and even if she's quite hurt in her pride, she seems to accept the situation with an aplomb and a dignity worth of a queen. Which is quite good for her but not for me because I expected her to be hurt and suffering and he being quite remorseful and ashamed of his behavior. Not this time. He actually chose another woman to be his bride and the mother of his children because she was more suitable and of the same social status, and he didn't even apologize for ghosting her and refusing her texts. I don't call this man a hero. Yes, he didn't behave badly after he finds out he's a dad but I think he's only a coward and a cold fish. He had good sex with the heroine but that was all, I always felt that the heroine was second best, and he was celibate because his fiancee asked him to wait until the wedding, not because he couldn't. In a matter of hours he would have ended his celibacy since he wanted ow, even if not as much as the heroine. But she would do. Thanks the f**k. The author miserably failed to make me believe he felt for the heroine much more than he would have liked and this was the reason why he rejected her. Nope, he would have married ow and had sex with her, and children with her in a matter of hours if the heroine's father hadn't come with his explosive piece of news. He had fleeting thoughts about her after they had sex, not enough to stop him from marrying another woman. And not even enough to make him want to see her when she texted him. He thinks she's not his first choice of wife and mother of his children. Worse than most of Lynne Graham old school heroes (that is saying much). The the author would portray him as the Good Guy who wants only what's best for the heroine and his daughter, and he wants to win best papa of the year. Yeah, right. Pull the other one. Soooooo, there he goes in my worst heroes ever bookshelf, and he's definitely one of my less favourite, beta heroes. The heroine is a victim and I would have liked if she was angrier and more resentful and bitchier than she was. She accepted his answer and never complained that he behaved like an uncivilized selfish coward when he asked her not to text him. I wish she had made him feel like shit because he used her as a sex toy and then because he preferred another woman to her. But she didn't. I wish he had felt like shit and had been remorseful and had admitted regretting letting her go since the moment she left the hotel after their night together. I wish he was at least blackmailed and forced to marry ow for very strong reasons, as to save his lil sister's life, or to save the world from WW3. In my romantic world if a hero decides to marry ow is because either he has been deceived and believes the heroine wronged him in an unforgivable way, or he is blackmailed with a situation of life or death. But he wasn't. And I wonder why she settled for so little. Since she had a loving and perfect family, with the best parents ever and the best brother ever. She should have looked for the same and never settle for so little. So I'm utterly unimpressed with his final declaration of love that was IMo too little and definitely too late. Two stars because the writing is very good and because today I'm particularly good.
I don’t understand why some readers were mad at H. Even if I prefer besotted Hs, this one was actually logical and quite politically correct man. That’s why there was no angst though.
I had too much problem with the hero’s behaviour mainly being that he didn’t pursue her after their ONS and was about to get married to another soon enough. Still I went in to the book reading about all his behaviour from other reviews so I wasn’t as livid as I would’ve been.
This was a book of two halves. I hated the first half but enjoyed the second half.
Absolutely loathed the hero at first . He disrespects the heroine so badly at the start and for so long. When we learned about his horrible past, he started to emerge as a much more rounded man and I grew to like him.
Hunter was quite prepared to marry and bed Eden, which showed he didn’t love Amelia, regardless of how he tried to change the narrative later. If Tobias had not interfered - the awful hero would have gone ahead and married Eden.
Another issue which bothered me was the way Amelia constantly covered herself whilst feeding Peyton - even though it was just her and Hunter in the room- as if it was something she should be ashamed of or embarrassed by it. What kind of message is that?
- I usually adore this author’s books. So very disappointing. It seems to me that Mills and Boon have forgotten what romantic fiction is about. The writing is as always 5 stars but initially the hero was a jerk. 2.5 stars

Cinderella's Secret Baby de Dani Collins serie Four Weddings and a Baby libro 1
Argumento:
Amelia and Hunter shared one night of passion. He took her virginity and gave her their daughter Payton. When Amelia's Dad found out Hunter was getting married to someone else, he decided to crash the nuptials before Hunter married someone else.
A spellbinding tale of high society scandal, second chances and illicit passion, Dani Collins’ latest contemporary romance, Cinderella’s Secret Baby, is simply irresistible.
Billionaire Hunter Waverly has never managed to forget innocent waitress Amelia Lindor and the one-night stand they had together some months back. Even though it’s his wedding day and he’s about to marry another woman purely for the sake of convenience, Hunter still finds himself thinking about Amelia – so he is shocked when she turns up before the ceremony holding his love child! Calling off the wedding, Hunter is keen to get to the bottom of this stunning revelation and to get Amelia and his child as far away as possible from the unforgiving glare of his nearest and dearest and the paparazzi. However, just when he thought that there couldn’t be any more surprises in store for him, Amelia pulls the rug out from under him yet again: she doesn’t want him to have anything to do with baby Peyton!
It had been too late to stop her father from gatecrashing Hunter’s wedding and announcing that he was Peyton’s father. All Amelia wants to do now is to get Peyton home and try and put this nightmare day behind her, but Hunter is not budging. He wants to be a part of Peyton’s life and nobody is going to stop him from being a father to his child – even if it means asking Amelia to be his wife! Marriage to Hunter would allow Amelia the chance to give her daughter the best possible childhood and opportunities beyond her wildest dreams, however, with their incendiary chemistry immediately flaring back to life, it soon becomes clear to Amelia that there might other reasons why she wants to marry Hunter…
There is nothing remotely convenient about their feelings for one another and as their marriage forces them in very close proximity, Hunter and Amelia soon realize that they’ve fallen in love with one another. Will they find the courage to admit how they really feel? Or is their marriage destined to remain a purely convenient arrangement forever?
In Cinderella’s Secret Baby, Dani Collins delivers an intensely emotional, highly sensual and wonderfully enjoyable contemporary romance that sparkles with heat and heart and takes readers on a dramatic journey with a strong, determined and nuanced heroine and a layered, noble and handsome hero it is impossible not to fall in love with.
A captivating romantic tale that is hard to put down, Cinderella’s Secret Baby is the latest must-read novel by Dani Collins.
Cinderella’s Secret Baby began the Four Weddings and A Baby series with a story that wrapped itself around my emotions and never, ever let go until the final page… and frankly, those emotions were not the expected ones for me. But then different readers will view Hunter’s actions in their own way, as every reader actually reads a different story with their own life opinions coloring the characters’ actions. I learned at my grandfather’s knee that while harsh words can be forgiven eventually, they are rarely ever forgotten. And I would not have been able to forget Hunter’s reaction to Amelia or Peyton at the beginning of their story. Yet, that’s me, my own life opinion – you may see this story quite differently and that is perfectly alright.
Amelia’s and Hunter’s one-night stand resulted in an adorable, innocent daughter who Amelia has decided to not tell Hunter about as he is engaged now. In fact, when she did try to tell him he immediately responded with a do not contact me again message even before the words were spoken. So be it then. Amelia would raise their daughter on her own and be completely fine… until her father decided to step in and change everything in the most public, humiliating way.
I gave Cinderella’s Secret Baby a 4 star rating for a couple of reasons. Just because I think the hero is a jerk does not take away from the overall story. And Dani Collins is a go-to author for me, so while I might not agree with a story’s direction – I’m not the one who wrote it, so all I can do is react to the end product. Amelia wasn’t perfect either to be fair to both sides. I kept reading to find redemption for Hunter and eventually did find his version of it.
I really believe that Hunter and Amelia’s story needs to be read because, this is life at times, never perfect, often events hit us out of the blue and we fumble with answers. I also think that this will be a different story as far as reactions go for each reader. This one is complicated and while Hunter isn’t my most loved hero by far, he is realistic in so many ways. Only you can decide what you think of this one. I enjoyed the writing, the passion, and watching a couple work so hard yet so against each other to find their own happy ending… eventually.
I wanted to like it. It was well written and I did feel they had chemistry, however I can't get over the fact that Hunter was minutes away from marrying another woman or that he got engaged less than 5 months after sleeping with Amelia. I would have understood if she disappeared on him and he couldn't find her, however when she tried to tell him about her pregnancy he told her that he was engaged and to never contact him again.
While I hate so many of his actions there were a few things that almost redeemed him in my eyes. - Hunter never slept with his fiancee and the last woman he slept with was Amelia - While he told Amelia that his fiancee wanted to wait til their wedding night to sleep together thus implying that he wanted to sleep with her, however in his own thoughts it was revealed he didn't want to sleep with his fiancee because he was thinking of Amelia. - He was thinking of Amelia just before he was to be married, but that's not that much of a positive because he was still fully planning to marry the other woman
I liked Amelia a lot and it was sad how badly he treated her (pre discovery of baby) and never chose her. When they parted her brother was missing and she was a mess and he never pursued her or checked on her. His attraction to her wasn't stronger than his fears and he never would have chosen her, he only ended up with her because of the baby. He was thinking of her for months and when she reached out to him he squashed that opportunity and once again didn't chose her. In his mind it was the honorable thing to do because he was engaged at that point, but really he chose his fiancee over Amelia. She deserved to be chosen and be put first at least once, I can't think of one time that he did.
Hunter was a good guy on the whole, really good with their daughter and he found Amelia's missing brother. I get that his father and stepmother messed him up which was why he chose to run from Amelia and how she made him feel, so he got engaged to a woman who he felt nothing for. It just makes me view him as a coward and a jerk for how he treated Amelia pre finding out about their daughter.
How he treated Amelia after they were married wasn't as bothersome to me, because he was good father and husband and treated her well. He was holding back emotionally, but was still present in day to day life. To me it's just the more acceptable way to handle distrust and fear rather than to marry another woman so that he feels nothing. P.

I am glad I didn’t allow myself to be deterred by the early reviewers. I would have missed the pleasure of reading a well written book with great story development. It was a story that wasn’t just about the race to the sexual encounters but which allowed you to get to know the characters, their relationship and their journey. And there was a story around it all.
I think the reviews that painted the H as a mean a**hole and the h as a pushover were totally off. The H had the h on his mind even as he made his way to the altar to marry the other woman. And the story highlights that even though OW had wanted to wait till they were married before going to bed with H, she had brought it up a few times and H had let it slide, something he couldn’t have done with h. The chemistry between the MCs was strong and a reader could tell they were meant to be together.
I do love Dani Collins and this was another well written book.

Emotional drama and top notch sizzle! A dramatic kick off to the Four Weddings and a Baby series from Dani Collins is sure to please those who like turmoil mixed into your romance. Scandal kicks off the story quickly and leads to the confrontation of a lifetime. I enjoyed every minute of their story.
Amelia is sweet and sincere and didn't intend to tell Hunter about their daughter in quite such a public way, but it is what it is and now the pieces have to be picked up and put back together again.
Hunter is determined to be nothing like his parents, so the fact that his wedding day brought such a scene is really unsettling for him.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a surprise baby storyline with heartfelt characters and lots of drama along the way to happily ever after.
This is the 1st book in the series and it was very good. The h and H had met a year earlier, had a one night stand and she became pregnant. The H had become engaged to another woman and informed the h to never contact him again. When her father finds out who is the father, he crashes the wedding and tells the H about the baby. They get married but find obstacles to their HEA but they found love. Great epilogue. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
I enjoyed reading this story! Love how Amelia and Hunter meet and how they end up dealing with the outcome and how love how it ends. I just wish there was more about Ameila"s brother Jasper what he went though. Look forward to reading Hunter friend Remy and Eden book : Wedding Night With the Wrong Billionaire.
A modern day shotgun marriage. One pregnant heroine and one emotion shy hero = A highly engaging story. Plus a little mystery, of one missing brother presumed dead. A fun loving dad and a sister with a secret. You got a lot of interesting things happening in this story so that there is not really any drag time. A well crafted romance from 2022.
Amelia Lindor had a one night stand with the handsome, wealthy Hunter Waverly. It was unforgettable and she was surprised by the fire hot chemistry. She was after all a virgin. Later on she found out she was pregnant. She tried to tell him but she found out that he got engaged so she decided to have the baby and raise her daughter, Payton, on her on with the help of her parents. Hunter decided to marry someone else who would be the perfect trophy wife. Neither loved each other and it was a business arrangement. Amelia’s father found out Hunter was getting married so he went down to the wedding venue and let him know he’s a father. Needless to say, the wedding was called off. Hunter wasn’t that upset about it. He never forgot Amelia after that wonderful night. Things took a turn and he takes Amelia and Payton away from the paparazzi. Will he accept his daughter? Will they marry for their daughter? Is the chemistry still there? Will he forgive Amelia because she didn’t let him know? This couple is wonderful. Hunter doesn’t trust easy. Will he trust her? Will she learn to trust him, too? Loved this story.
Loving the mills and boobs vibe. Another bonkbuster. I liked this one lots, a very easy read and hit all the right spots. Girl meets rich man, one night stand. 18 months later Hee dad stops his wedding with 9 month baby in tow. Thankyou netgalley for this arc in exchange of an honest review.
Absolutely enjoyed this story about Amelia and Hunter. Although they had had a one night stand, both had feelings for each other. A year later they meet up again and that chemistry is as strong as ever and they realised that they had found their happily ever after.
I really like this couple! Their growth to a loving marriage and family was lovely. MMC was rather sweet, while afraid of love. MFC was a great match to him. She’s exactly the kind of wife to open him up to love without fear.
Love this story.. I liked both of the H’s. Amelia was very relatable. I can’t wait for the other stories in this series. Really interested in how Eden and Remy got together!😂😂
