The men she’s dated are heartless and cruel, leaving her brokenhearted and alone. She has nothing but nightmares of their behavior to keep her company. She's never going back there. Especially with arrogant orthopedic surgeon, Nicholas Barnes. That delectable divorced doctor is the last thing she needs. He's not interested in getting into another relationship. Why on earth would she give him a second glance? Getting a decent night’s sleep is much more important to her than men anyway. Maybe the sleeping pills her friend has offered will help. That and seeing a therapist.
But what happens when the sleeping pills cause side effects she didn't anticipate? If only she could trust this handsome physician wouldn't break her heart like all of the rest. She'd surely prefer to wake up alongside him versus cold sheets and the mind-bending thoughts of the men in her dreams.
Day after day, Katarina Kelly awakens with more questions. Why is she dressed in clothing which mimics her dreams from the night before? Had the one date she'd allowed with a firefighter in her friends' circle gone worse than she imagined. As she grapples with confusion over her odd dreams and a date she cannot remember, she lets her guard down and becomes more and more enthralled by Nick Barnes. Everything about giving in to him feels as if it could backfire. Or is this just her past with men causing such paranoia? Will this man be there when she needs him or just take what he wants and run? Because odds are good, she's going to need someone by her side when this is all over.

What a roller-coaster of feels this series is. I laughed, and I used almost a whole tissue box, so keep one handy. Kate is a mess. She works a high pressure job where lives depend on her, where she doesn't eat properly, and due to her wrong choices of men, she doesn't sleep properly, suffering nightmares. A friend suggests pills which change her life, she just didn't doesn't know it's going to be for the better at the same time it will be for the worst. Pills, weird dreams that appear to come true, a stalker, and a hot doctor who can't make up his mind all combine to make her life a hot mess. Then a health issue that threatens to send her spiralling into the depths of depression. Her family rallies around her, and the hot doctor becomes her saviour, until her secret comes out. One thing Dr G Nicholas Barnes can't stand is a woman who lies to him. He's already been there and it's not happening again. He won't allow it. But he knows he's lost his heart to Kate. They've done nothing but hurt each other. Nothing can fix that, can it?

I loved Nick and Kat, but I wanted to throw my phone at times. There was a lot of chaos between the two and a lot of ups and downs. I loved watching the two fight their jealousies and all the misconceptions the two had seeing each other out and about with other people. They definitely had a lot of baggage to sort through because they had a lot of the same trust issues with other partners. I loved that Nick was able to step up when Kat really needed him. I also loved the friends and family that these two had/made. It was a long journey that I tended to get frustrated with at times, and some parts just broke my heart, but I loved it.

Absolutely loved this series and I would highly recommend.
Its one hell of a roller coaster ride that will totally mess with your emotions. It had me laughing, crying and wanting throw my kindle across the room.
It's brilliantly written and it will have you gripped by the end of the first chapter of the first book.
Nick and Kat are the main 2 characters in this story both have their insecurities and these books take you through their highs and lows and believe me there lows are really low.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ just don't do this series justice like wise with my review..... read them you will not be disappointed.

slooooooow burn
This is a three book box set and it felt like the story dragged for me. Im not. Fan of the slow burn but when we finally got to the last book it came together. I actually liked the epilogue which was really more of a 4th book based on the size. It moved at a much faster and perfected pace for me.

Good read
Good read with some twists and turns. I really enjoyed the characters and relationships within these books. You can definitely relate to the characters.

amazing!
I started reading Layla not knowing this was a series. I started with bitter rival, and then read Mr. second Best. This trilogy was incredible and perhaps my favorite storyline. I loved learning more about everyone and Kats story of amazing, haunting, lovely, and so real. I devoured these books and hope you never stop writing about these characters!

I absolutely loved this series, I got through it in a couple days. The first book sets the scene and gets into their trust issues. The Second book has some wild stuff occur as well as some heartache, and the 3rd book has some emotional trauma that gets resolved.
