Boone and Taryn were kind of always in love with each other. one night in Vegas and a whole lot of liquid courage helped them to get together and married..... But the next morning Taryn kind of fudged it up and left for years. Now they finally get their second chance years later. I must admit it wasn't my type of story 🙈 Taryn seemed selfish, childish and kind of self-centered. Boone was so in love with her and he forgave her far too quickly😳😳 The HEA felt a bit rushed, but that just my opinion 😉 But nonetheless a sweet and romantic story... Not safe(because at least Boone dated others) but with a sweet HEA at the end🥰

Poppy Parkes joins the After I Do multi-author series with The "I Do" Do-Over. A wonderfully-written, engaging and romantic second chance short romance, Boone is swoon-worthy when his childhood best friend returns to Heartwood to get his signature on divorce papers - a marriage that happened in Vegas seven years ago after a drunken night and led to Taryn running scared. But when Taryn lays eyes on her soon-to-be-ex for the first time in years, she is not sure if this is what she really wants. Then nature steps in to remind both Boone and Taryn of what they could have. A fast-paced, short, steamy, second chance romance you won't be able to put down!

Best Friends share a wild night in the city that never sleeps, good storyline with characters that are just begging to be given a second chance. Enjoyed this best friends second chance novella all wrapped up in a bit of drama, regrets and the possibilities of what happens when your life flashes before your eyes. Great ending for this long time coming romance.

This is an OK romance, but it was too short to have as much character development as I like. I knew that it was short when I decided to read it, but I needed more backstory on both Boone and Taryn.

The couple grew up together, and had been best friends for years. They were both in love, but had been afraid to admit it, fearing that it would ruin their friendship. Then they both get drunk in Vegas, and impulsively get married.

Taryn was an idiot the way she ran off the morning after their wedding. She was sure that Boone wouldn't want to really be married to her, so she just left. She should have at least talked to him about it. If she had, she would have discovered that he loved her, and wanted to be married. Then she avoided him for seven years? She was a coward for doing that.

I did like that Boone was a good guy, who still loved Taryn even after what she did. He did forgive her a bit too quickly, though. She should have had to grovel, at least a little.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

"...taking the risk to be with the one you love is always worth it."

The "I Do" Do-Over by Poppy Parkes is the first book of the multi-author After I Do series. This story packs an emotional turmoil punch as it is about what happens when best friends since Kindergarten celebrate their twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas and jump way over the line. But instead of sticking around to sort things out the next morning Taryn wakes up with a huge hangover, a huge fake rock on her finger and decides the only way out of this is to run and never look back, even if Boone's naked butt is a work of art. Seven years later finds Boone running his own construction company in their home town of Heartwood, Montana, and Taryn living in Seattle. It also finds her trying to get a divorce and him being stubborn and basically saying that if she wants one she knows where to find him as he needs to hear it directly from her mouth. So what is a woman to do when all of her future plans hinge on getting those papers signed....she books a flight and shows up at his office door...SURPRISE!!! Both are dug in and seeing each other messes with their heads and hearts, and wakes up a few other parts. Will they finally realize exactly what everyone in the town has known for years, that they belong together forever.

I really loved this book. It is a charming, naughty, funny, emotional, and dirty sexy story. The characters are so right for each other but yet are so afraid to admit exactly how they feel. It will take an incident on the mountain to knock some sense into them and make them willing to finally say outloud what they have harbored in their hearts.

Avalanche that unearths feelings
This book is about Boone and Taryn. They’d been best friends for 15 years, since they were young kids. On their mutual 21st birthdays they took a trip to Vegas together. Both of them had been harbouring feelings of more than just friendship but never acted upon them, worrying about the repercussions to their relationship. However, after many drinks and fun times, they confessed their true feelings for each other and got bed-wed-bed. When Taryn wakes up the next morning, she’s so regretful about what will happen to their close bond that she ups and leaves Boone without talking to him. It’s really quite heart breaking…
Seven years on, and they still haven’t seen each other. But Taryn has been in touch with him through her lawyer, practically begging for a divorce. He has repeatedly refused her this, but has requested a face-to-face before he even considers signing the divorce papers. After all this time apart, will she still feel the same way once she sees him? Memories and true feelings have a funny way of sneaking in when you least expect it.
This was a quick, dramatic and emotional read. I did enjoy the characters, and the friendship their relationship was based on. I felt there could have been more, and it ended too quickly for my liking. Another epilogue would’ve been great. I give this book four and a quarter tattooed stars.

Seven years after one walked away, finally answers.

I liked this short story. It was entertaining and enjoyable but it was missing something. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. I had a couple of issues with this story. The first was why did Taryn do what she did besides being afraid of messing up their friendship (which she did)? The second thing was the dating. Was it just Boone or did Taryn date during their separation as well? He said that none of those relationships went anywhere but he was still dating. I liked that he wanted her to face him so he could get closure. Taryn seemed very selfish to me. She changed after Boone rescued her and I liked her better then. I liked their happily ever after. I recommend giving this book a chance as you may like it more than I did.

I’m not normally a fan of second chance romance and was nervous about this book but love Heartwood so much I thought I’d give it a try. Boone and Taryn were childhood friends who 7 years early went to Vegas for their birthdays and got married. Taryn was so scared she’d ruined their friendship she left before Boone woke up! Fast forward 7 years and Taryn is filing for divorce but Boone won’t sign without seeing her. They are both still very much in love with each other but both want closure. Taryn’s life is put in danger in an accident and suddenly she realises her awful mistake and doesn’t want to let Boone go, he never wanted to let her go! Beautiful, sweet, second chance romance with lots of love and a beautiful HEA

Boone and Taryn are best friends. They are in Vegas celebrating birthdays and end up getting married. Taryn sneaks out early the next morning as regret sets in. She's tries for years to get Boone to sign divorce papers, but he refuses. Now he wants to see her. Taryn comes to town to see him so they can officially move on. However, nothing goes accordingly to plan. When she gets into an accident it gives Taryn a chance to rethink things. Will Boone give her another chance? Can they get their second chance at love?

This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter and leave you wanting more with the last one. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

The couple: Boone and Taryn

Romance genre: marriage
Series: After I do
Length: 66 pages

Plot: Boone and Taryn had been best friends forever, so seven years prior to our story, they went to Vegas, got drunk, and ended up getting married on a whim. In the morning, Taryn leaves suddenly, overcome by the notion that this will ruin their friendship and destroy everything. She hasn't seen him in seven years, never going back to their town. She sends him divorce papers periodically, so why won't he sign them?

Commentary: I didn't like this one as much as I thought I would, mainly because I didn't understand why the h left and then never contacted him again. She was embarrassed? She was scared he would be mad? So she abandoned her best friend of many years and was really kind of mean about staying away (from the whole town, not just him) and sending him the divorce papers over and over. And I think part of sending him those papers was due to those initial feelings of fear and embarrassment, part of it was that she didn't want him owning any part of her new shop. He held onto hope for a long time, but I thought it was a good idea at the end that he wanted to make sure she wanted to be with him because of him and not because of the adrenaline of the accident.
I also noted that he went on dates while they were separated; I know that's a deal-breaker for some people.

Next book in the series: First Blush: After I Do

Taryn and Boone's tale is a unique second chance story that I did not want to put down and wished I could have read it from start to finish.

Taryn and Boone have been friends since they were young, while celebrating their twenty-first birthday in Vegas, they ended up at a chapel. Fast forward several years, Boone is still heart broken and confused why Taryn left and Taryn is determined to start her life, not married. She returns to town to give Boone the closure he has been wanting only to find her heart she had been hiding.

Yes, there is a bit of drama and some tension that has your guessing on how it will turn out. Amazing read and great start to the series.

This was a unique twist on your typical second chance romance. Boone and Taryn's story was wonderful they were best friends for a long time their 21st birthday in Vegas changes everything. They wind up married but Taryn freaks out and leaves before Boone wakes up. Fast forward 7yrs Boone's still heartbroken and Taryn's mad at him for not signing the divorce papers. He tells her that he won't sign anything without speaking to her first so she comes to town and gets caught in an avalanche. Boone immediately sets out to find her. Will this be the second chance that Boone has been hoping for? You really need to read this wonderful story to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Boone and Taryn were best friends from a young age. They did everything together and always had each other's backs in every aspect, but they had never dated. They even shared the same birthday going to Las Vegas for their twenty-first birthdays. The two of them celebrated the day over the top ending in what Taryn thought was a mistake for their friendship, but Boone was determined to prove otherwise. He was way to stubborn to ever give up on Taryn. You see she was the one for him. A wonderful story of never giving up on the one you love.

Taryn and Boone, the lead characters, have been friends since childhood, enjoying their shared birthday together every year. Then they got married whilst drunk on their 21st and Taryn ran away. When she asks for a divorce, Boone demands she do it in person, hoping to convince her to try again.

This short is story is dual POV. I admit I struggled with this because it was unclear to me what made Taryn run away in the first place. I understood Boone’s choices and actions but Taryn just seemed selfish and childish in her initial actions and I didn’t feel her change of heart was authentic.

Taryn and Boone were inseparable since they were kids but one wild night on their twenty-first birthdays changed things. Now, seven years later Taryn is back in town but will it be too late for a second chance. This was an engaging story. You could tell that Taryn and Boone had strong feelings for one another from the start but didn’t want to ruin the friendship incase feelings weren’t reciprocated. Taryn was hardworking but stubborn in thinking it was all a mistake. Boone held strong to his love for Taryn and just wanted the chance to show her he truly loved her. An awesome read as part of this new series. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The "I Do" Do-Over. This was a cute simple love story that tugs at the heart. Boone and Taryn were friends since they were little and treasured their friendship. They go to Las Vegas to celebrate their 21st birthday, and get drunk. They wake up with a big surprise and it leaves Taryn to regret all that they did. She leaves Boone with a whole in his heart. Seven years later she keeps asking for a divorce. When Boone gets ready to give it to her, life takes a turn that may bring them back to each other. This a very good story and has me excited about reading the rest of the After I Do series!!

This is a quick story about a second chance romance of two childhood friends who celebrate their 21st birthday by getting hitched in Vegas, only to separate the next morning for the next seven years. When asking for a divorce Boone forces Taryn to come back to their hometown to ask for it in person. Once there a second chance at love occurs and it's a great story full of love and suspense. Loved the back and forth POV for the story telling.

This is a sweet and emotional friends to lovers/second chance romance. Taryn and Boone have been best friends since they first met. Then they went to Vegas to celebrate their birthday and got hitched......Taryn left Boone there and disappeared, not wanting to ruin everything yet did.. now several years later and wanting a divorce that Boone won't sign unless she comes to town to see him... Plenty of drama and emotion throughout this story. I'm so glad that they worked out their differences to get their HEA.

Taryn and Boone go to Vegas for a fun weekend for their shared twenty first birthdays. The drinking starts and the two end up married, she wakes the next morning and takes off. Leaving Boone with no word except "I'm sorry". Boone has loved Taryn and thought they both wanted the same thing. Seven years later she wants a divorce, he will not sign unless she comes to see him.

When Taryn is caught in an avalanche, will Boone be able to save her? Will they have a second chance?

CUTE SHORT ROMANCE
Poppy Parkes has produced another little gem story. Best friends in a drunken haze wedding Vegas, all loved up until reality hits next morning and Taryn does a runner. Fast forward a few years and Boone is determined she faces him in person rather than letting her get away with continuing distance.
Love is in the air and an avalanche hitting the area is what it takes to get this couple to where there should be.

This was such a cute story. Best Friends go to Vegas for fun and end getting frisky and getting drunk and end up married . She freaks out and leaves before he wakes up . She files for divorce but he won't sign until he speaks to her . It takes 7 years for her to come back . When there were supposed to met up she ends up in a horrible skiing accident and he comes to her rescue . Once she's in the hospital all she's asking for is her husband she realizes she can't live without him .

What a good book

Enjoyed reading Taryn and Boone's love story. They were best friends all through school and for their twenty-first birthdays they want to Vegas. What do people do in Vegas besides gamble, they get drunk and get married. It scared Taryn and she ran away the next morning. Seven years later she wants a divorce but Boone won't sign the papers until they meet in person. Read what happens when she returned. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Written by Cindy :)

Taryn and Boone were such a fun couple to read about. Friends for so long that everyone around them thought they would end up together. The two never thought of one another in a romantic way until the night of their 21st birthday when they went to Vegas and after a few drinks and dancing they find themselves married the next morning. Taryn however, freaks out thinking what happened has ruined their friendship. Best friends can't be anything more is what she believes. So she runs. Boone however, is all in and is heartbroken when he discovers Taryn ran off in the morning. The two do not see each other for 7 years. When they do neither can deny the feelings hey still have for one another. There is a bit of danger when Taryn goes skiing and Boone will do anything to save her. This was a very well told story with a wonderful HEA.

This book is part of the multi-author 'After I Do' series and is set in the world of the Mountain Men of Heartwood, so we get to revisit some familiar characters.

Boone is the perfect book boyfriend and an adorable hero. The jury's out on Taryn though. She didn't behave well towards him at all. Great writing, as always, from Ms Parkes to make you so invested in these characters.

I know this is fiction, but stories about miscommunication, or couples not talking to each other, either make me cry ugly tears or beat the walls in anger. What a waste! The years they could have been together! All that heartbreak! Still, I guess that’s the sign of a really good book 😊 Poppy rarely disappoints and this certainly brings out a myriad of emotions. I just wanted to smack Taryn up the side of her head.

The story still left me bewildered. The MMC clearly loved the FMC and she him, I just don’t understand why she did what she did. She is a big fool and he is a hero. He still loves her even after….

I am just relieved that it’s still a hea for our couple. She just needs a little nudge to realize what she has almost given up.
