Easy to read, but profound

Thank you Shawn for sharing these amazing encounters. I felt like I was caught up with you as you described the third heaven; it's been in my mind a lot recently. So relevant and so wonderful I wish every person in the world would read and understand the beauty of what God has planned for each one of us, as Shawn has outlined here. How amazing is our God!

Shawn Bolz shares a series of encounters he had with the Lord that shaped his thinking and molded what he calls his “spiritual intelligence”.

Spiritual intelligence (SQ) is the ability to connect with a higher power, ask questions about the meaning of life, and experience a connection to the world we live in.

Adam and Eve walked with an inner connection with God. Solomon’s wisdom connected the wisdom of Heaven here on Earth. Bible heroes throughout history, (through various gifts the Lord has given them), have shared with the world their connection with God, whether it’s Esther’s beauty, Solomon’s wisdom, Job’s patience, Moses’ faith, or Paul’s knowledge.

Together, Bolz tries to bring us to the place where we see our spiritual, neurological, psychological, and physical connection with God, so that we can bring to humanity the solutions it needs, whether moral, practical, or even scientific.

To me, Bolz’s book reads a lot like the Book of Ezekiel. Specifically when the Lord pulled the prophet by the hair, and whisked him to Jerusalem. Things you don’t quite understand, but just say, “Amen!” to.

I’m only kidding of course, but the extravagant encounters Bolz had with the Lord were to me both humbling and inspiring. God is no respecter of persons, and what He does with one, He’ll do with anyone. I myself, am looking forward to my next encounter with the Lord!

I find myself skeptical, unsure of what to do with these extravagant stories. Even if I dismiss them as fabricated or otherwise dishonest, I found myself encouraged throughout, and am moved by the depiction of God as trinity, in incomprehensible glory and expressive and delighted love. Shawn's language is evocative.

If Shawn truly encounters the angel of the Lord through visions and dreams such as these, this changes everything. This is a deeply significant book.

I am humbled and awestruck when I consider how God operates so deeply, widely and highly beyond my comprehension. I believe that is true. So, who am I to discount these stories? How am I to discern their veracity? I don't know, so I hold it loosely, and accept the promptings within to righteously fear God's greatness, faithfully adore his kind love, and sow to His Spirit.

So so so hopeful and amazing. Confirms many things i am learning myself right now. You can tell there are parts that are hard to describe in human language but he does a good job of explaining and it is just wonderfully inspiring.

Shawn shares the visions he's had of a maturing church, believers coming into God's heart, plans, wisdom. Shawn reveals the joy of Fater, Son and Spirit over the plans for each of our lives, even though the evil in this world is working to keep us from it. Be encouraged, those who choose to are maturing in the things of God and amazing days are ahead if we can grasp what He is doing!
