Caveat Emptor

Rate this book
Caveat Emptor is a ghost story in which a living nightmare becomes a symbol of a cathartic pilgrimage for one woman. Diane, her husband, and their two boys buy a home in a New England coastal town. She soon discovers the house is haunted, which pits her against her husband, who does not believe in the afterlife. For Diane, reality and the supernatural merge. She becomes trapped in a world of terror—at sleep, by the cryptic fantasy of her dreams, filled with mysterious symbols; awake, by the horrifying visits of an unknown shade. Suspense builds as the intensity of the visitations increase. Diane’s isolation grows but she realizes the only way to prove her sanity and end the hauntings is to uncover the identity of the spirit and bring it peace. She quickly becomes entangled in a web of deceit and intriguing folklore, unknowingly alerting the killer of her intentions to solve the mystery.
