One simple proposition led to a bargain that changed my life.
There's nothing worse than going to a wedding alone, especially when I'm the last remaining Wilde brother in a town determined to see me tied down.
The meddling little old ladies in Sunrise would love nothing more than for me to fall for one of their granddaughters. Trouble is, I'm not the marrying kind. They just can't see it.
But I've got a solution that'll throw them off the scent of single man they've been following. Her name is Clara Barnes, and she's my perfect match. Why? Because the last thing she wants is a husband.
She'll be my date, and I'll be her wingman. What could go wrong?
The Wedding Date Proposition is a 7,000 word prequel novella to The Baby Proposition.
USA Today bestselling author Kim Loraine was raised a Navy brat but spent most of her life growing up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. A proper Washingtonian, she's addicted to coffee, doesn't let a little rain ruin her day, and thinks the sun is a gift from God. When not chasing her three little minions around, Kim spends her time writing, reading, and binge watching Doctor Who.
I absolutely adored this prequel novella to The Baby Proposition. I am sure that Maverick and Clara are going to get themselves into quite the situation before this whole thing ends.
Style: Friends to Lovers Romance Story: 3/5 Enjoyment: 3/5 Dark Level: 0/5 Sexual Level: NONE Triggers: No Violence: No Male: Sexy Series: Prequel Pages: Audio: N/A Kindle Unlimited: Yes
STORY: WHAT I LIKED: This was just a short prequel that introduced us to Maverick and Clara and the continuous weddings that that are attending. This is also where it leads up to the baby proposition.
WHAT WAS SO SO:
SEXUAL CHEMISTRY This prequel had no sex scenes
SECONDARY CHARACTERS: This just had a quick little scene with Maverick’s brothers, Luke and Sutton
OVERALL: Was I entertained? It was ok. Did I like the story? It was ok. Would I read the first books in the series? Yes.
TRIGGERS:
****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.
I love when authors write prequel novellas to get us excited about their new books! That is exactly what Kim Loraine has done with this one.
Mav and Clara are friends, they have been for a long time. Clara is a strong independent woman and doesn’t want to wait for a man to help her with the next stage of her life. But once Mav finds out what she wants to do he gives her an option she couldn’t believe.
This little novella is the perfect appetizer and I can’t wait for the main course!
Maverick and Clara are two friends who decided instead of going stag to all of the upcoming weddings in their towns they would go together. No strings, just friends hanging out together, except when Maverick finds out Clara wants to have a baby he decides he will be the guy to help her. After all, he just wants to be a good friend...right? This is the prequel to the baby proposition and I think it will be even better than this novella.
This was the first book I’ve read by this author and it was a very interesting read. The prequel builds some of the back story between Maverick and Clara as they go to several weddings as each other’s plus one. Clara mentions her desire to have a baby with donor sperm, and Mac volunteers to donate surprising himself and Clara.
Great peek at what's to come in The Baby Proposition between Maverick and Clara! Who know what's going to happen to these friends. Will they become lovers? Love the banter they have and also seeing old friends from previous series. Kim never disappoints!
Ooooo this little sneak peek at Clara and Mav’s story has me so excited! Even with that little bit, there’s no doubt the chemistry is scorching and I just know I going to love their full story even more!
I'm not crazy about novellas or prequels. I'd rather read something that's more in-depth. This one did its job though, piquing my interest about what will happen next. Sounds like things could get really interesting.
Good prequel setup for the story, but not much meat to it as far as character and relationship development, but more like a sneak peek, which will hopefully be remedied in The Baby Proposition.
