She’s a librarian who loves steamy romances. He’s a surfer who likes it wet and wild. Will these two finally get it on when their long-held desires bubble to the surface?
CHLOE
I’m a bookworm, which sees me working at the local library to feed my addiction.
Little did I know my life as a librarian was about to be interrupted by something hotter than any of the steamy novels to hand.
But it’s true. Blake Mitchell, my dream guy, is back in town and apparently determined to give me my own wet and wild chapter.
BLAKE
I’ve always loved my life on the road, of chasing the surf, and being free. Of late, though, I’ve been longing for something more permanent, a home of my own.
But they say home is where the heart is, and there’s only one heart I’m interested in. But, thanks to my ‘here today, gone tomorrow’ reputation, my chances of attracting Chloe Henderson’s affections are zero.
And then she shows me the error of my ways, as well as her gorgeous curves, and all is right with my world.
TRIGGER WARNING: In Surf Break, Chloe is bullied. However, with Blake's love she overcomes this, coming out on top in more ways than one. There is definitely an HEA as regards this, as no one should be bullied, ever. As one reviewer put it: "Just love a story where the girl not only gets her happily ever after, but her self worth too. Bravo Ms. Malone - 5-STARS"
If you like your romances short and steamy, you’ll love this series of curvy women, opposites attract romances. They can be read in any order you choose, there’s a guaranteed HEA with no cheating, and no cliffhangers.
Hope's love affair with romance began with a teenage binge-reading marathon through Barbara Cartland's entire collection, before graduating to spicier titles that made her blush and kept her turning pages well past midnight. From schoolgirl crushes and pop star posters covering every inch of her bedroom walls to now, when the walls are pin-free but she only needs to close her eyes to see her ideal man, Hope has always believed in the power of a good love story.
Hope believes everyone deserves love and that heroines come in all shapes and sizes - because real women have curves, attitude, and the power to bring any alpha male to his knees (and while he's down there...) She also likes to believe there's a welcoming town like Coogan's Break for all of us, where the girls love their curves and the guys are hotter than hell, where opposites attract and sparks fly from the very first meeting.
In Hope's world, love is steamy, fast, and utterly irresistible - just the way the best romances should be.
This is a quick, mildly steamy, second chance novelette length read. While I enjoyed the depth of the story, I would have enjoyed it more if the ending would have provided more details than the HFN ending. I suspected if as much depth was added, like how did Blake place in the upcoming surfing competition and did Blake leave for Bali, with 1-2 more chapters then ending would have been a HEA. Even though I was disappointed with the HFN ending, I still would recommend quick & fun Surf Break. Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I also purchased the book / read it with Kindle Unlimited and am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited opinion with my voluntary review.
2.5 stars If you need to read a book to complete a reading challenge, this is one for you. It doesn’t ask you to do anything but read it and let your mind go. It’s a very fast novella with main characters that you’re not sure if you should be rooting for them, on my because you never really a chance to learn them. I don’t think I’ll read more books in this series.
Adorable main characters combined with a well paced story for being a quickie. I'm normally not a fan of novellas (I like a meatier story usually) but I'd read about those two again.
I really enjoyed this short sweet love story. Curvy girls finally getting some love and revenge from the bully just makes it sweeter! Add in the hot Super dude and bam. 💋
