Such an impossible choice!!
I love when I read the second book in a series, months or even a year later, and all the details of the first story come back to me as I read, simply because it was that memorable. And I especially love when the author cleverly includes necessary details and hints from the first book in an engaging manner that doesn't feel like a brain dump. Such has been my experience with The Chase Runners.
I was glad to revisit Sheila, Willis, and Perryn and to learn the breathtaking outcome of The Chase (in the book of the same name). Of course, what should have resulted in peace and freedom instead opened the door to more turmoil and control by the World Coalition.
I was pleased with the reappearance of one of the characters I thought was long gone and stunned by the results of the choice the story is most likely named after. The Choice was full of surprises whose outcome already has me screaming for the conclusion of the series, to be released November 2022!
As I've been doing a Bible study on our freedom from the curse of the Law, I felt the message of this series - bondage to the "Law" in the society - was especially poignant.
Readers who enjoy dystopian fiction will want to read The Chase Runners...

The Choice is a YA sci-fi dystopian novel by author Bradley Caffee. The Choice is installment two in The Chase Runner series.
WOW, I just can’t get enough of The Chase Runner Series. I hope to see several more installments. In fact, as I was reading, I kept thinking this would make a great movie. I felt Perryn and Willis worked well together as the main characters.
Perryn had been recoded for the 96th time, and now Perryn and Willis were in hiding. The World Coalition has manipulated what has happened. They are lying to the people. Things are chaotic and unsafe.
Wow, what a well-written story. However, the reader will want to read installment #1 first to get the background. I highly recommend The Choice to fans of YA Dystopian.
Mr. Caffee, you have intrigued me again, and I didn’t see that ending coming. I can barely wait for installment #3.

A fast read that isn't afraid to dive deep into the choices these interesting characters make.
The second book in The Chase series goes to a new level!
My favorite character in The Choice is Sheila as she deals with loss, choices of integrity, and the ambition to make her sister proud. Her dynamic relationships with her driver, Penny, Perryn, and Willis were real sweet spots in this story.
Some of the choices Willis makes were hard to take, and made me want to throw the book against the wall a few times. Any story that evokes an emotional response is a serious win. He's a flawed and realistic character.
Perryn takes a backseat during this story. I wish we could know a bit more about her. Hoping that book 3 answers the questions about her character.
The last third of The Choice is incredible and really gets me psyched for what's to come in book 3!

What a crazy world, kind of like the one we're living in now, where the government wants complete control of your life. The Law is Good, or so goes the slogan of the rulers of the world. Jaden won the Chase and he abolished the Law, but the government couldn't let that stand so the runners had to go into hiding. Several come back together with others who don't want to be ruled by a wicked regime and they call themselves The Underground. Together they try to stop some of the evil that the government is plotting. The ending is surprising and I can't wait for the next book!
I gave it four stars simply because I didn't find myself invested in the story. I could easily go on to something else.

The Choice is the second book in the Chase Runner Series. The first book was good and had you wanting to read more, but when The Choice enters into the game you simply cannot put the book down. Continuing with Perryn and Willis' story, it has you captivated from the beginning. Love, hardships, and a many gripping scenes have you finishing the book faster than you would think. Not only is this story simply a large leap of intrigue from the first book, but it also leaves you knowing that book three is going to be just as good if not better as this dystopian tale continues. If you enjoy dystopian fiction and if you've enjoyed The Chase, The Choice is simply a no-brainer must read and should be at the top of your list!

The Choice is an exciting ride! Caffee continues Willis’s story with fun friendships, a fast pace, and great twists. It’s a story that doesn’t hold back. And that ending—wow! Read it!
Would've totally given it five stars if not for two moments that jogged me out of the story. Regardless, I'm excited to finish the series!

An excellent second book in an engaging series. Second books in trilogies are always difficult, as they must arc between books 1 and 3, advancing the story but leaving a cliffhanger, all the while holding the readers' attention and providing a satisfying tale. All of which Mr. Caffee has done admirably.

This action packed sequel to “the Chase” will keep you guessing and on your toes as the adventure continues. Diving deeper into the characters Bradley Caffee continues to thrill in this dystopian world that is so relatable to readers of all ages. Cannot wait to see where book 3 takes us next.

My teenaged son loved this book! He read it, then went back and read the first book "The Chase", and then read "The Choice" once again. He commented he can't wait for the third book to come out.

The Choice is the second in a YA dystopian trilogy about Willis and Perryn, a pair on the run from the Alliance they tried to take down.
Plot: There are lots of things coming together here, so I don't think it was quite as exciting as book one, but the building tension means there's plenty to look forward to in book three.
World-building: For book one we spend most of our time on the training space station, which was fascinating. Book two spends zero time there, which was a little sad, but the development of the Underground world was solid and fun.
Characters: Probably the strongest aspect of the book. Willis and Perryn are great (but TALK PLEASE). Sheila has a tough time of things, and my heart breaks for her. It was good to see more of Kane, and the stuff with Jez (no spoilers!) was twisty in the best way possible. The gradual introduction of other side characters, both mentors and friends, was perfect for rounding out the cast. Looking forward to seeing them come together to win it all in book three!

I received my book on a Friday evening. It was finished by Sunday night! Couldn’t put it down, except I had to look after my family. 😉😂
It’s even better than the first book. Darker, but better! The story has twists I didn’t expect, and kept me hooked.
I’m encouraging my 13yo son to read his series.
How long til the next one?!?!?! Too long!
