Whoever invented joint bachelor parties never planned one with their ex.
I should’ve known I couldn’t avoid seeing Hudson Remington again for the rest of my life, especially when we share best friends who are getting married.
Does that mean I’m prepared to run into him? Nope. Not one bit. I am less prepared when my best friend requests he and I plan a joint bachelor party. Of course I’d be stuck with the man who broke my heart. Why would the universe stop at a simple encounter?
It would be a piece of cake if Hudson returned to New York and stopped taking over the streets of our hometown. Instead, he decides it’s time for a walk down memory lane.
I refuse to get caught up in everything that is Hudson. From his tailored suits to his dazzling smile and coffee delivery, the man yells trouble for my heart. A second chance is not part of my plans, but it seems said heart has other ideas. I don’t think I’ll recover from another Hudson-heartbreak.
Meet Again is a feel-good second chance romantic comedy with a persistent and sexy hero, a dance teacher, and an opinionated Cuban grandmother. It’s a sweet closed-door romance with crackling chemistry and strong friendships.
Abi Sabina writes sweet closed door romance full of swoon, sass, and humor. She traded in the big city life for small town living when she moved to Spain.
She hasn't wrangled herself a country boy yet, but she writes books based on charming heroes and small town charm. (And maybe throw in the city setting every so often.)
She loves coffee, country music, and the mountains. Her goal is to write stories that make you feel, smile, and cheer on love.
Four years after breaking up, Hudson and Lex find themselves reunited at their friends' engagement party. While Hudson is eager to reconnect, Lex would rather ignore his presence while he's back in town. As they're forced to spend time together planning a joint bachelor/bachelorette party, Lex finds it harder to avoid the feelings that never went away. They soon find themselves falling back in love, but will the issues that caused their previous breakup push them apart again or can they finally make it work this time around?
Lex and Hudson were such sweet characters with equally likeable friends. I loved how Lex's family was so warm and welcoming to Hudson and encouraged his reunion with their daughter. There were several sweet and tender moments between Lex and Hudson, and we got lots of scenes with them enjoying their second chance at love. Unfortunately this book really dragged for me, and the dialogue and inner thoughts of the characters was very repetitive. I found myself having to take breaks to grab another book before coming back to finish this one. I thought the premise of the book sounded cute, but the party planning was such a minor part of the storyline. If you're a fan of Hallmark movies, then you will enjoy the feel good vibes and sweet moments between Hudson and Lex. Sadly this just wasn't the right book for me.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
When I first started this book I felt like it was going to be predictable and cliches but as I continued reading and got to know Lex and Hudson I found them to be fun and unique. I found myself smiling and swooning over Hudson's determination. I enjoyed all the yummy food mentions. The setting is great even though I don't like snow especially this time of year. The Christmas season is very sweet and festive. Tristan is a great character and look forward to his story. I hope to see the family restored in at some point in the series. Romcom fans check this one out! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
I enjoyed that this was a dual POV story. Lex’s grandma was probably my favorite character. Lex and Hudson were likable, I jut thought that was something missing for me. The first half of this was a slow start that, at times, felt repetitive and lacked emotional depth for me. I also felt like they moved past their issues without really discussing them which didn’t feel right since that’s why they broke up the first time.
If you enjoy Hallmark-esque books and second chance romances this is for you!
Thank you to the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Hudson and Lex are high school sweethearts who haven’t seen each other in 4 years. Tensions rise and old feelings surface as Hudson and Lex are forced to work together to plan their best friends’ “Bach” party.
This was a cute second-chance love story, but I just couldn’t get into it. It felt like a big chunk of the back story was missing, and I struggled with how Hudson could go from keeping it cordial after the first time they saw each other, to hell bent on winning Lex back. Like I said, it’s a sweet story with a HEA, but it just wasn’t for me.
I was given an ARC by the author. All opinions are my own.
EN: This book has been on my TBR list for a long time and should be read by now. But now we're following Lex and Hudson who were once together but are no longer together except that they have to do a Bachlorett party together right now. Second Chance to Love is one of my favorite tropes and I love it unfortunately I was missing something. I liked the characters the more I got into the story, the more I warmed to them. I also liked the story, even if I missed more like the two of them being together again, but it was an easy story to get through. Overall it was good, although I hoped for more, I still had fun reading it and liked it.
Read if you love: 🩰 Second chance 🩰 Dancing in the snow 🩰 Hispanic rep 🩰 Hilarious grandmothers 🩰 Strong friendships 🩰 F•R•I•E•N•D•S references 🩰 Tension and banter 🩰 Small town romance
Hudson broke Lex’s heart four years ago when he chose life in the big city over settling with her in their small hometown of Hartville. Now Hudson is back in town and thrown together with Lex to plan their best friends’ “bach” getaway much to Lex’s dismay. However, they both soon realize that the feelings and chemistry they shared are still very much alive. Will they get it right the second time around?
This was such a sweet second chance romance! The beginning was perfection. I loved how Lex totally kept Hudson at bay. It created the perfect tension and made for some great banter. Lex was so saucy and I was here for it. But over time she softened up and started spending more time with Hudson, allowing them both the chance to get know the people they’ve become. I really enjoyed how they slowly became reacquainted and Hudson tried so hard to make Lex see that he was serious. I loved Lex’s grace and poise in the face of Hudson’s horrid parents. Tristan was the perfect antidote to the serious parts of the story and I’m looking forward to his story. I highly recommend this ooey gooey romance if you just want to smile and love swoony kisses.

Thank you to Abi Sabina for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own. I was instantly drawn in by the cover of this book. And I absolutely love the concept. Overall, I found most of the characters very enjoyable. However, I think it was the style this book was written in that I wasn't as much a fan of. While this wasn't a super long book, it felt like it was dragging on forever. I honestly put this down and read another book while I was still reading this one. There were some aspects that I really enjoyed in this book, however, it gets an overall "eh" from me.
Second chances at love. Lex and Hudson's story was an interesting one to read. From the tension to thoughts of forgiveness and wondering how things would work out between them, this story carries us on a journey with both of them as they try again for a second chance. Hudson's determination is definitely one to be admired. I alive how he learned from past mistakes and was willing to do whatever it took to right his wrong. A bit repetitive at times it still made for an enjoyable read If you love second chance romances, dual POV, be sure to check this one out. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via JustRead tour. All opinions expressed are solely mine.
This one was just ok for me. I liked the characters, and their main story. But it was too slow and repetitive. Not much happened, and there were many scenes where they just worried about their feelings and their future, over and over. Some of the dialogue seemed too formal and unnatural at times, too. But once I started skimming the slow parts, I still liked it enough to finish it. I liked how she included good side characters, and set up Tristan well for his story next. I also liked it enough that I will definitely give the second book a try!
I received this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Meet Again: A Sweet Second Chance Romantic Comedy, Meet Cute 1--G Violence: no Language: no Sex: no Absolutely so boring that I had to skim most of it and nothing moved the plot along. I skipped to the "big misunderstanding" so there would be something interesting happening. The characters are flat.
🩰 My thoughts: I loved seeing a Hispanic MC. As a Hispanic woman- I thought it was so fun to see another Hispanic family with the lingo and the culture there. Lex’s grandma was HANDS DOWN my favorite character. Loved her. And the wisdom she had was unmatched.
There was some repetition happening in the first half of the book. A lot of the same things seemed to be happening repeatedly. Like Hudson and Lex kept planning and reminding eachother of the same bachelor/bachelorette party details. And fighting about the same issue after it had already been resolved. Another reoccurring conversation was Lex and Hudson not moving on and still caring about eachother, while Lex insisting they couldn’t be together because of their “issues” that haven’t changed since the breakup. This was a constant theme that was never fully addressed, I think.
Hudson and Lex were together from 15- 21 years old and broke up and then are reconnecting when they are now 25 years old (I did the math here and might be off a little- don’t sue me 😂). So as the reader- I had a lot of moments in that first half that I was honestly thinking they both would be much better if they actually moved on and found someone else. After hitting the 50% mark- I was mostly invested in Hudson making it work with Lex, but I still struggled with Lex. I felt like she was really selfish while blaming Hudson for a lot of things. Lex’s immaturity was truly astounding. And at the end of the day, I feel like Hudson loved her so much that he would have her believe she was never in the wrong for anything. 🙈 For any hope of this working out - I need these two to go to counseling STAT (especially my girl Lex with those horrible communication skills).
I could feel the physical chemistry between Hudson and Lex, but wanted just a bit more depth from them. More serious conversations and more foundational conversations. There was also a lot of wedding planning in the beginning and then all wedding talk stopped for most of the book and for a second- I thought I missed something.
I felt like this was a really sweet second chance romance. It was a quick, light-hearted read for me. If you’re looking for something that’s light and fluffy, I think you’ll enjoy this one. I enjoyed the side characters here, and I’d definitely read another book by Abi.
Thank you so much Abi for providing me with this ARC to read and review.
Second Chance Romance is my absolute favorite genre!!! And this book does not disappoint.
Lex and Hudson were high school sweethearts, best friends, soul mates. Unfortunately, his upper crust family looked down on Lex and her Cuban roots. They did everything in their power to push the two apart. They stayed strong until Hudson graduated college and took a path different than what he planned with Lex.
Four years later and they are planning a joint bachelor/bachelorette party for their best friends. While Lex, stays cool and hard towards Hudson, he does the complete opposite with her. Wearing her down, gaining her trust, making her fall in love with him all over again. But to be completely honest, the two never fell out of love and never loved anyone else.
It seems like this time though, they have the opportunity to have it all. They have grown and know what they want and don't want. But when push comes to shove, it seems like Hudson is taking the same path and once again breaking Lex's heart. Can Hudson really step away from his family business? Can he stand firm in Lex's love and against his parents? Can they really have it all? Or has he broke her heart, and his own for that matter, for good this time?
This is one of those books that make me love love. Second chance romances are actually top tier. Lex and Hudson broke up at 21 due to unfortunate reasons but they're now having to work together 4 years later to plan their best friends bachelor and bachelorette parties.
I absolutely loved this. It initially gave off one sided enemies to lovers but it wasn't a slow burn so they reconciled their differences in good time. The way Hudson loves Lex, ugh I want nothing less. He would move the moon for her. His attentiveness and confidence was everything. This made me feel all gooey inside.
He's rich, she's not. He works for the family business. She has her own ballet company in their local town. You can see where this is going.
I love second chances. I also loved that Lex and Hudson were thrown together and kind of forced to spend time together. That made them talk about where they went wrong. Obviously they had differences to work out to make both their dreams come true. I loved that this was sweet and clean. Passion and chemistry go hand and hand and sometimes I wished he would just kiss Lex. However, I liked the longing and the making sure they were on the same page. I loved that it was pretty simple: pizza, being in the snow, coffee, etc. It was charming and sometimes frustrating, but the love could still be felt through it all.
4.5/5 Lex and Hudson have strong emotions due to their history. Their best friends are getting married and they'll be throwing a dual bachelor and bachelorette party. This means Lex and Hudson are stuck with one another.
dual pov. These characters carry love for each other and honest joy for the others success. There is anger and hurt and I felt so many emotions.
″And I was an investment you could just replace.”
No matter how much time has passed, she’s always owned a piece of my heart.
“I loved you with every fiber of my being. You know that. Do you think I could let that go so easily?”
"Sometimes love isn’t enough to make a relationship survive. I learned that the hard way."
Meet Again is a sweet and incredible story of second chance love. The chemistry between Lex and Hudson never really went away after they split years ago. The two characters complement one another perfectly. I enjoyed their story and loved how it all came together.
The story Lex is a 25 year old dance teacher with her own dance studio. When her best friend Hope gets engaged to Toby, Lex walks into the engagement party and is surprised that her ex Hudson is there. Everyone is rooting for Lex and Hudson to get back together and Hope and Toby have launched a plot to get them to arrange their join “bach” party at a ski resort. Will Lex and Hudson be able to put the past behind them and move on?
My thoughts There is a lot of angst and soul searching in this sweet read. The primary reason Lex and Hudson broke up years ago was that Hudson went to work in New York for his wealthy parents leaving Lex and their home town of Hartsville behind. Nothing much has changed, but it seems that Hudson is unable to forget Lex and is now back trying to change her mind. Lex is also not willing to change her life - where she lives and her business. I enjoyed the parts of the story where Lex’s parents and grandmother supported her choices.
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars ______________________________________________________ Story Notes
There was a whole lot going on in this story and I loved how Abi let everything be unpacked at just the right speed. We got to see both sides of this second chance romance which is always a plus in my opinion. Neither Lex or Hudson were really over each other but they had tried to move on. The slow burn of the story was a nice touch, given their history and I liked how things played out in an organic way. Nothing about what happened years before was okay and that was explained very clearly. Abi let us see the how the relationships that Lex and Hudson had with each set of their parents was pivotal to their relationship. While Lex had support, Hudson had criticism and spite. That spilled over into everything in Hudson's life and he had to decide whether he was going to be his own man or the man they wanted him to be. Lex had to learn that just because his parents were toxic, Hudson was working to become different from the people they were. One of the best inclusions of the story, besides the swoony kisses, was the way that Hudson fought for their relationship this time. He had matured and that was clear in how he handled Lex's fear and running away. It was what Lex had wanted all along and really proved his love for her when he chose her over his job and his parents. I certainly recommend this sweet story to those who enjoy second chance romances with some real depth. It's for sure worth putting on your TBR list.
I received this temporary complimentary ARC from Abi and JustRead tours via Bookfunnel. I am not required by anyone to write a positive review but am most pleased to do so. I will receive no fiscal compensation for this review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.
Meet again is a funny romance book about two high school sweethearts. It is years after high school but they meet again when their friends get married. They are trying to work together to plan a party for their friends but how can they be sensible when they still have feelings for each other? Overall I think this book deserves a 4 star rating. I love that Lex and Hudson found each other after years. They make a great couple and have a lot of chemistry. They are a couple that you just know will work out. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
There is just something about a second chance romance that I always find myself drawn to, so when I saw this book, I was certainly drawn in for that reason... and I did find it to be an enjoyable read overall. That said, there were a few things that I felt kept me from enjoying it quite as much as I could have.
First and foremost, novels written in first person tend not to be my preferred reads. For whatever reason, I find that they tend to be a little more difficult for me to get into. I did appreciate that this one went back and forth between Lex and Hudson's perspectives, but I do think I'd have preferred it had it not been first person.
Aside from that though, I really enjoyed the interactions between Lex and Hudson's characters. Their chemistry was done very well, and I found their second chance at romance really sweet. There were times that it seemed a little repetitive, but not so much that it affected my enjoyment of the story. This definitely had a sweet Hallmark-like feel to it, with some nice humor mixed in as well. If you are looking for a sweet, clean rom-com, this is certainly one to check out. I looked forward to reading more from the author in the future.
**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All thoughts are my own.
This was my first Abi Sabina novel .... as well as her first novel! It's a duel point of view (POV) novel that rotates between the main characters - Lex and Hudson.
Hudson left his hometown while Lex stayed. All she desired was to create a dance studio and give her students and opportunity to dance. Hudson left to be a part of his Father's company, but when he returns he wants to fight for the girl he left behind.
Yes, there is comedy! Yes, there is romance! There is also a battle of wills and finding ways to communicate. There's working through a romantic relationship, but also family relationships. It's a complete novel with no cliff-hangers, but I sense more is coming from author Abi. I'm looking forward to her next novel!
Reviewed from an eArc copy. Thank you, Abi! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Meet Again is a cute second chance romance about Hudson and Lex who were together in high school and college and ended up breaking up due to his family and some misguided notions. Hudson feels like it’s his responsibility to keep the family business going especially when his younger brother, Tristan, walks away from it. Whereas Lex knows what her dreams are and goes for them! She won’t let anyone, not Hudson and not Hudson’s snobby parents, ruin her dream. But they wind up together planning the joint bachelor/bachelorette parties for their best friends and all bets are off. No matter how much Lex resists, Hudson is set on winning her back! I love second chances and this one is adorable and I really enjoyed the characters! I definitely recommend this one for second chance lovers out there!
*i received a free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
just adored Meet Again by Abi Sabina! It was filled with everything I love in a romance novel. This is a sweet, closed door romance, enemies to lovers, with such fun banter. The main character, Lex, runs a dance studio in her small town, so you know I just loved the dance aspect! 🙌🏼 Hudson also made such a great love interest.
Another thing I loved about Meet Again was the fact that it never got overly frustrating. Sometime romcoms follow that same big frustrating/lack of communication moment, and I really appreciated the fact that I didn’t have to really deal with that. I also loved how Lex’s culture was such an important part of her life. The diversity was really nice.
Overall, this book was so fun and enjoyable! It was cozy and sweet and I loved every minute.
I liked this small-town romance. As most sweet romances are, it was fairly predictable, but definitely worth a read. The characters, secondary included, were so much fun to hang out with (especially Grandma 😝). I would recommend reading this second chance romance if you love the cliche romance trope and enjoyable characters.
I was given a complimentary copy to review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Lex and Hudson, former high school sweethearts, are forced back together to plan a joint "bach" party for their best friends Toby and Hope. With everyone but Hudson's parents rooting for them to get back together, Lex channels her inner "Lorelai Gilmore" with Hudson pushing for a second chance with his "lobster". Cute pop-culture references pop up throughout the novel.
This is a slow burn as their feelings for one another become known early in the book. The dual POV helps to pull the reader in to their back story, their reasons for separating, and their desire to reunite. Kissing only scenes.
Great character and place driven story. Easy to picture this as a second chance romance on a certain TV networks holiday lineup as much of the story take place over the winter holidays.
Thank you Abi Sabine for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Cannot wait for Tristan's story this fall!
