WHEN JESUS RETURNS

Rate this book
Christians everywhere await Christ's return. Will he come to the whole world or just one place? Soon and suddenly or after clear signs? What can he achieve by coming back here and how long will it take? Few theologians speak with such clarity and uncompromising biblical faithfulness as David Pawson. Based on a new approach to the intrpretation of the book of Revelation, Pawson here discusses in detail the controversial and misunderstood subject of the Rapture and uncovers the true significance of the Millennium. This popular and highly topical book is being re-issued with a striking new cover.

A breath of fresh air

I love all of David Pawson’s books and this one is no exception. True to form, he preaches from the Word of God, and points out where ideas introduced over time have led to confusion. After reading many different interpretations of the book of Revelation, I find Pawson’s to be the clearest and to make the most sense because he takes the simplest approach. I highly recommend this book.

What an excellent teaching by David Pawson! It certainly is not an easy-quick read. I took notes, highlighted, read Scripture before tackling a chapter and during....it was an entire study for me. But I am SO GLAD that I did and I praise God for giving David Pawson wisdom and insight on rightly handling His Word.

I am not sure I agree with all of David Pawsons views in regards to the rapture, but I do appreciate his clearly thought-out and scripturely based reasoning. It has made me question some of my beliefs on things (which is a good thing, we should never be so "stuck in our ways" they we are unable to change our minds if shown to be wrong). Although I am currently under the view of a pre tribulation rapture I particularly liked the comment (along the lines of) "it is better to expect to go through the tribulation and get raptured that to expect to get raptured and go through the tribulation", now even pre tribbers like me can't argue with that!
Each point was clearly written about but never laboured on. The little "question page" on your own personal view on the millennial reign with explanations afterwards, towards the end of the book, was very interesting. I also learnt viewpoints that I never knew existed, which is helpful if I come across someone with these views. A good book indeed 🥰

Excellent descriptive read

I really enjoyed and got informative food from this book. I took my time digesting the content and found it really helpful in my walk with God. Thank you David. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is really interested in our Lord and saviour returning for His chosen.

I only made it through page 183. I had read enough to get a sense of what the author believes about the end times, and what many are teaching about the rapture of the Church. The part I didn't read was dealing with the different views about the millennium, etc. I really couldn't care less.

I know that Jesus is coming back, but to get that involved in all the details seems counterproductive to me.

If you have a strong interest in learning about the book of Revelation, and getting all the details worked out, you would probably really enjoy this book. It was just time for me to go on to other things.

A must read. Revelation unfolds in a new light about Jesus return and Millennium afterwards. Rapture is not what we've heard about (i.e. Left Behind series).

I read the Kindle edition which is not listed on Goodreads. ASIN: B004JHY7QS

This book provided me with a lot of useful material on the Second Coming of Christ. This is a very balanced book giving insight into a topic a lot of churches are reluctant to teach on. David Pawson shows clearly that Jesus will return and that the Bible commends the church to get ready for this major event. Pawson outlines the different schools of thought and makes clear his own point of view. This is a good theological book on the subject and I recommend it.
