Welcome to Heat Haven, a facility where Omegas can safely go through their heat alongside pre-screened and carefully selected Alphas.
Emily: My heat is getting closer. With heat suppressants off the table and no pack to call my own in sight, Heat Haven seems to be my only option. Can I be vulnerable enough for Alphas I don’t know to help me in my time of need?
Griffin: I want a pack and an Omega to cherish. The problem? I don’t like most people and I work too much. Where better to meet someone than a place where you contractually participate in a heat with strangers?
Omega and Alpha pheromones ignite in this spicy novella. With a chance encounter and an upcoming heat, can Emily and Griffin find what they’re looking for in each other?
Sarah Blue is a USA Today best-selling author of paranormal, omegaverse, and contemporary romance. When she isn’t writing you can find her nose buried in a book or picking up a new craft she probably won't finish. She lives in Maryland with her husband, children, and two cats.
I have no idea how I found this novella but I'm glad I did. Heat Haven was sweet enough to devour in one sitting and flaming hot to make you squirm in all the right places. A modern spin on the whole Omegaverse and mating hookups, it was marvelous.
Is it improper to eat pussy in an elevator? Not that I’ve ever cared about being proper, but I only want to take this as far as Emily is willing.
An unmated Alpha and Omega seeking a service to fulfill their needs. With orientation cut short, Griffin and Emily find themselves trapped in an elevator and the fates align. Without time for pleasantries, these two are already ripping off clothes and getting right to the action.
“Sweetheart, you’re fucking killing me. Looking sweet and fucking innocent on your knees for me. I know the truth, though, you like to be a bad girl. Don’t you, Emily?”
Eagerly stroking his length, I reply, “Only for you.”
“Fuck.”
Griff and Emily are immediately smitten but can anything real come out of it once Emily's mating heat peaks? Because these two are going to need reinforcements, as in additional men on deck. And frankly Dion was a welcome lusty inclusion. This story was the perfect reprieve from reality! 🥵
Sept 2023: Listened to the audiobook and it was even better 😩❤️

I always thought a short story couldn’t captivate me as much as a long-length book, but boy was I wrong. I was blown away by how good this novella was and now I'm obsessed with the possibility of more books set in this world.
The concept of Heat Haven, a company that provides omegas with a safe place where they can spend their heats with Alphas who will respect and treat them right without bonding them was fascinating to me. I want to learn everything about this business and to read all kinds of relationships coming out of this place.
This sweet omegaverse was surprisingly funny and I found myself loving all the characters, which is one of the reasons why this book is so good. It's charming and sexy and it hits on all the right kinks and character archetypes. It's just a really well done story and it captivated me from the start.
Emily was an amazing main character. She was so friking charming and cute, and I loved how she had a secret personality when she was in heat. The fact that she didn't curse but during her heat she was dropping the f-bomb left and right was hilarious to me. And getting to read a female characters who asks for things she wants in the bedroom was so refreshing.
But the main reason why this book is so yummy was Griffin. I’m positively obsessed with the charming fucker. If you're into the idea of a sexy alpha's first time with an omega and how he's all about her and so into eating her out, he practically lives between her legs... then give this book a try because holy hell, Griffin is a trouper and so into giving Emily pleasure, it was the hottest thing. And his dirty talk... *sighs in horny*
Dion also joined Emily's heat and I wasn't sure if I was going to be as much into him as I was already into Griffin. But holy cheese balls, Dion is incredible. He was so calm and chill, the perfect convination to Griffin's intensity. And the way they bonded together and became best bros was the sweetest fucking thing. I just loved them so much! And Dion just wanting to belong and finding an omega to take care of... gosh what a cutie. By the end I was mentally begging Emily to ask him out lol
The ending teased us with the possibility of more alphas joining the pack and damn, I'm dying to read about it. This little novella gave me so much more than I thought a novella could offer. I'm invested and I want more!
I have yet to find an omegaverse that holds a candle to Lola and the Millionaires… TEARS.
I like the concept of this book - first in a series of short standalone set in an omegaverse where alphas and omegas can ride out heats in a *controlled setting*. Basically, alphas pay top dollar for the chance to… help omegas… get through their heats. Super interesting set up, and I liked that this world seemed a bit lighter than other omegaverses I read where omegas are, like, hunted.
I understand this is a novella so we’ll be getting less face time and character development, but I truly felt I didn’t know the characters at all. We get POVs from Emily, the omega, and Griffin, an alpha, exclusively - until the epilogue, which jumps forward in time.
Emily felt… very Mary Jane. Sweet, beautiful, doesn’t curse, Southern belle. I thought it was funny that she told Griffin he should wait until after her first heat to decide if he wanted to pursue a relationship with her because she is “so different” during her heat. I was like… oh, is she a freak? But no, she just says “fuck” instead of “fricken”.
Because the majority of this 100-something book is steam (pre-heat and during the heat), we don’t get relationship development or plot. We meet the other alpha, Dion, during the heat only. He’s just a pretty face. I don’t have a problem with books that are solely smut - but it has to be GOOD smut. Most of the steamy scenes gave me the icks.
There were also a lot of grammar issues that felt clunky to me.
Will I try the next book in the series? Probably, because I like omegaverses and want to find another one that works for me so badly.
Thank you Sarah Blue for being the first to pop my Omegaverse why-choose Cherry.
Talk about an official introduction to what an Omegaverse is and what it entails. I’ve read a couple other books that touched on this trope/sub genre, but not giving the easy explanation of it all like Sarah Blue did before Heat Haven started. This is my second Sarah Blue book in two weeks and I’m becoming quickly convinced that she can write no wrong.
“You want my knot, sweet girl?” he whispers into my ear. “Yes, give it to me, please.”
This book was so freakin hot I didn’t know what to do with myself! A sex club for Omegas when they go into heat to have several Alphas to use at their disposal to get them through their heat—holy💦. Emily meets Griffin in the elevator before her heat and immediately feels an instant connection/bonding/need. I love that this is scent focused because that is my favorite book boyfriend thing. This was honestly was more than I expected and I thoroughly enjoyed this delicious story.
Look. I have never read an Omegaverse book before, so I have no clue how this book ranks compared to others or if it follows the rules. That said, it was entertaining as heck and hot as all get out, so I’m going to say it’s a winner. I really loved Griffin and Emily together and felt like when the heat happened the dynamic of adding more worked easily. I don’t know what else to comment on. It was hot. Ok bye.
So this book was cute and spicy and fun. I liked all the main characters, but I really wish we’d gotten to see in the other guys’ heads more. I didn’t love the skipping forward in time, because it meant skipping a lot of the true getting to know each other stuff. However, the book did bring enough closure to satisfy.
Since this was such a short novella, I'm not going to give it a star rating. But this is an omegaverse where the heroine is using a service to find alphas to help her through her heat, and the hero is volunteering with that service. They meet in the elevator and it breaks down and things heat up. It was short, quick, and fun!
I needed a bit more besides all the bodily fluids🙃🤧 but it was surprisingly sweet and consensual for an omegaverse.✨👁👁 (must be trauma, can't stand whiny, needy heroines)👯🏻♀️
I’m absolutely obsessed with these two & im so glad I chose to start out my new year reading their story. This follows Emily & Griffin who meet on an elevator at Heat Haven. Emily is an unbounded Omega approaching her heat and Griffin is a sexy as sin Alpha + lawyer who recently just joined the club.
Heat Haven is basically a place that facilitates heats for Omegas & Alphas have to pay a fee & be vetted to partake in heats. There’s a rigorous process that makes it safe for everyone.
The fact that this starts out with them meeting being stuck in an elevator was very unique to me it really details all the animalistic traits from both the omega and the alpha as the pheromones start flowing in the enclosed space. Emily was already nervous that day then getting stuck on an elevator which she hates was very hard on her.
Griffin who was a complete stranger managed to ease her anxiety. I was immediately swooning over him & his need to take care of Emily outside of the fact that it’s in his nature to do so. I was very happy with the writing + the banter, the bits of education on safety and consent between adults.
This novella was everything to me and even made me a little emotional lmao I just loved the show of dominance and submission with them. Despite how they met they build such a strong bond & I was eating it TF UP!
It’s easy to get thrown off by novellas and the omegaverse them because it’s not realistic but somehow these 2 authors managed to do this quite perfectly for me I literally cannot wait for the rest of the series. Chefs fücking kiss.
It's like an upscale spa where Omegas can go for a safe and comfortable way to get through their heat. Pick your room, pick your creature comforts, and pick how many Alphas you want in the room with you.
I thought the book was written really well. It was light and fluffy and the characters were entertaining. Steamy and hot, but not violent like some omegaverse stories can get. MF/MMF but no sword crossing.
I'm fully blaming Isabella's review for me picking this little treat up.
Very sweet, very spicy, low angst, escapist fun. Emily is at Heat Haven to finalize the details of her stay before her heat starts. Griffin is at Heat Haven for orientation as a new Alpha participant. They have a meet cute in an elevator and sparks fly. This story is heavy on the spice and light on plot, and I was down for that. This is the first Omegaverse novel I've read where the characters build their pack. Usually, the Omega is joining an already established pack.
This was my first omegaverse, and I will definitely be reading more. I really enjoyed this! I had no idea what I was getting into but I was not disappointed. There were surprisingly a lot of cute moments, I loved it! If you're looking to get into omegaverse this is the perfect start! I was so shocked this was a novella - there was so much heart and character development, I loved it!
Why was this a novella? The concept of a safe placed named 'Heat Haven' was good and the story itself was sweet. But why would you end the book on that note after introducing two hot potential 'new members' of the pack.
Umm I became a fan of @sarahblueauthor and @ashleybennettauthor when they dropped VV5. So when I saw this was coming out and it was ANOTHER Omegaverse???? Say NO MORE my ass was on that preorder button like it was on fire.⠀Then however my dear friend Sarah came into my dms and offered me an ARC copy (prolly cause I super stalked messaged both authors on how phenominal I thought VV5 was).
Anyways this book was a super easy read and an even spicier fast burn book.⠀I kept turning pages simly because I liked the characters so much that I didnt want to stop being in their world. YESSSS I downloaded and read the extended epilogue and i 100% recommend everyone doing so.
Even with the Ext Epi I still want more!! Kenjie and Griff together in a pack? Yes please and I want to see Em grow more into herself and not be so apprehensive of Alphas and I NEED her to like being choked eventually lol....(choking is my legit fav)..{TMI TMI} but DEAL with it
storyline 🐙🐙🐙🐙 Spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
this was so different from anything i've ever read before, but i want more of it. the characters were well developed, the writing gave it all a cozy and comforting vibe, there was just the right balance of softness and conflict...this novella accomplished more in 100 pages than some books do in 4x that. i do feel like the "extended epilogues" could have been fleshed out just a little more and packaged as a whole sequel to really shine and give closure to these characters.
as with everything else i've read from ashley bennett & co...this has big comfort book energy.
I love me some non-shifting omega stories and honestly this totally had Heat Clinic vibes but maybe better because SB packed a good story in such a smutty novella.
I loved so much about this especially how other mates came into the picture. It was safe and natural.
That’s really all I can say without giving the story away!
Sarah Blue is fast becoming a favorite and I’m really looking forward to Charming the Devil 👿
”Omega perfume really is some bull. Can't a girl get turned on without the entire world knowing?"
𝘚𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘺 Emily is at Heat Haven to make a few last-minute changes before her upcoming heat, but when she and Griffin get stuck in an elevator, they quickly become… acquainted.
𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 & 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 I don’t read Omegaverse books often, but when I do, they’re a spicy good time. 👀 Although this has high levels of spice, there were some sweet moments that balanced it out. (Probably one of the shortest reviews I’ve ever made, oh well😭)
I have read Alpha and Omega stories before I personally enjoy them. But honestly this was a little different from what I normally read. Instead of being two guys together and loving each other. It was one woman with four guys. I didn’t even dislike the story or the dislike the characters, but I wasn’t super into it I guess. I don’t know 3 out of 5 because there wasn’t that much plot. It was more sex than anything else.
I loved this way more than I expected. It’s a super steamy omegaverse, why choose novella.
The story takes place at a business called “Heat Haven” that connects omegas with alphas and gives them a safe place to stay during their heat.
Most novellas don’t make me as invested as this one did. I loved that it was short and spicy, but that the characters were also very likeable.
The spicy scenes were perfect, and the men were so loving, kind, and gentle with her. There was also tons of aftercare, which I know is important to a lot of spicy romance readers.
My only complaint was that I didn’t like where it ended and skipped ahead in time. After the heat with Dion, Griffin, and Emily it jumped ahead 7 months into an epilogue.
We skipped past a part that was important for the characters. We didn’t get to see Dion and Emily bond on an emotional level.
It didn’t make sense that we wouldn’t see that between Dion and Emily because Griffin and Emily had so much conversation and connection outside of sex.
It feels like I missed a huge chunk of their story.
I think it would have made more sense to show Emily and Dion together more, then go into an epilogue and end the novella on a cliffhanger before the next heat.
The epilogue was also followed by 4 more chapters. That structure was so odd.
The 4 extra chapters where we meet new characters should have been put into a second book.
Anyways, it was super fun, and I loved the characters!
I wish we could have gotten a bit more from them at the end and then restructured the ending because it was very random.
I would definitely still recommend this to other omegaverse and paranormal romance readers.
Oh how I LOVED this book. This was fantastic. Start to finish. Bravo.
Heat Haven is essentially a safe space for Omegas to have their heats, and Alphas pay a membership fee so that Omegas can select them to help them through heats if they wish.
Our FMC is new to Heat Haven, and finds herself stuck in an elevator with fellow new member and Alpha Griffin. Forced proximity mixed with alpha/omega pheromones = a grand time for all parties involved. They made quite a mess in that elevator, all I’m saying.
Despite their feral attraction meet cute, Griffin and Emily actually forge a strong, mature, and adorable relationship. She puts him on her heat list and he makes it his priority to take care of all of her needs.
I can’t wait to see where things go next in this story, especially after the ending 👀. Highly recommend!!
