For the right girl, Noah Johansson might actually enjoy what he was about to do...
But Paige Parker was definitely not the right girl.

Paige Parker has spent the past year carving out a perfect life in Maple Valley all for one reason: To convince her father he can finally stop worrying about her. After all, she's already cost him too much. But now it's her love life he's most concerned about.

Cue: Noah, Paige's new tenant, who agrees to play the role of a boyfriend while facing wounds of his own. But keeping up the charade proves tricky as real sparks fly and dreams, hearts, and newfound hopes collide.

Cute romcom set in delightful Maple Valley, Iowa. The use of water throughout was particularly well done.

Noah Johansson's dream died in Afghanistan with his best friend. Or so he thought. Now, in Maple Valley with his newly discovered half-siblings and a pretty landlord, visions of the life he once envisioned for himself are coming back to him.

Paige Parker moved to Maple Valley to prove to herself—and her father—that she could be independent. He's given up his life to raise her, and she wants him to find a life on his own. Plus, renovating her over-the-garage apartment was a fun project, and combined with her job at the newspaper, she has a happy and fulfilled life.

But when her dad shows up to visit, it seems like he expects more. Like a boyfriend. Enter Noah...

The impulsive idea to announce they were dating soon becomes a plague to both Noah's and Paige's consciences. But if it helps her dad, and doesn't hurt anyone else, can't they fake it for a while?

Meanwhile, Noah starts pursuing his dreams, but nothing comes easily. Can he overcome the past, the reopened wounds, and the current day obstacles to see it to fruition?

This is a sweet novella in the Maple Valley series. It's a standalone, but if you've read other the other books you'll have fun spotting beloved characters.

This was an enjoyable, entertaining novella. The enemies-to-romance trope was well written. The banter and water rescue were spectacular. I especially loved the heart-deep themes.

Favorite line:
“Of course, she’d prayed. But everything had felt off lately. Her faith dry and distant. Maybe it’s not so much whether you prayed as whether you ever listened for an answer.”

Content: tattoos, replacement expletives, replacement profanity, swearing by “the love of Pete,” sensuality

I know that this was 'supposed' to be a sweet 'fake relationship grows to something real' kind of romance, but my GRACIOUS! does Melissa Tagg ever have a talent for reminding us of God's truths along the way!
I absolutely loved the reminders that both Paige and Noah got that God is already waiting for us . . . wanting us to take the next right step with Him . . . but not waiting impatiently . . . waiting with an encouraging smile and gentle words that tell us that together with Him, nothing truly is impossible.
And as to the romance part, while that wasn't my favourite part of the book, it was definitely high up there too!

I am not one to give out 5 stars in a whim, but there is something about Melissa Tagg’s writing that I absolutely love.

There is plenty of depth in the characters, enough romance to enjoy but not too much to make it completely unrealistic and unenjoyable.

This book is no different. I throughly enjoyed reading Noah’s story after have been introduced to him in Some Bright Someday. I have loved continuing to get to know the people of Maple Valley after reading many of Ms Tagg’s other books. I look forward to ready many other books by Ms Tagg!

Awwhhh I adore Melissa Tagg's books, and this is no exception. Loved reading Noah and Paige's story; so sweet, and boy, are there some theological zingers--as ever, with Tagg's books. :) Love, love, love.

I don’t usually love novellas because I feel like they can’t really get into a story in such a short amount of pages. But reading this on the heals of Maple Valley #2 was perfect.

Still can’t wait for Sam’s story!!

I've always enjoyed Tagg's Maple Valley stories and this one is another excellent addition. Both Noah and Paige are relatively new to the little community and still finding their way as they seek to find new purpose for their respective lives.

Both characters are well crafted, far from perfect and we see both grapple with their own insecurities and weaknesses. One of the lovely elements of the story is how both bring out the best in the other. When one of the them is insecure about something, the other encourages the other to believe in themselves. It's an important quality in strong relationships and it's lovely how Tagg demonstrates it in this story in both Noah and Paige.

Full of Tagg's quality story crafting and fun situations, this is a sweet romance that even though you know what's likely to happen, the way Tagg presents the power of selfless love is wonderful to read. Sometimes it takes such love to help an individual to let go of their inhibitions and fears to be able to step out to discover their purpose and start living it.

I read this story as part of the 'Love's Treasure' Boxset.

This is such a lovely novella — and Paige and Noah are a delightful couple. Oftentimes I find myself liking one main character more than the other but in this case I loved them both. Somehow I skipped the previous book in this series so I will be immediately moving onto that now. For years now I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about Maple Valley and the characters who live there. So I recognized a few in passing.

Noah’s back story has some heartbreak in it but is beautiful all the same. Paige has some family issues to work out as well but nothing that diminishes either of them as wonderful and relatable characters.

I hope I will be reading some updates on them in future stories about Maple Valley.

I always enjoy a visit to Maple Valley. Since I met Noah in Some Bright Someday, it was fun to read more about him and see him figure out what he should be doing with his life. Paige was also a fairly new resident of Maple Valley, working at the newspaper office with Noah's sister-in-law Jenessa. She was trying to make a new start to prove to her dad she could make it on her own and to give him space for growth in his life. Noah and Paige didn't start off well but it was interesting seeing their feelings change and the growth the made as they figured out what they wanted in life. I really enjoyed this sweet romance.

Someday Soon, by Melissa Tagg, is a novella that continues her Maple Valley series!

Paige Parker is sitting in a boat with no oars; unfortunately, she does not know how to swim. When Noah Johansson shows up on the scene, he is unsure how to proceed with this woman who is more his nemesis than his friend!

After Paige is safely returned to shore, you will be surprised when you see these two begin to interact in a way you would never expect. Noah steps in and pretends to be her boyfriend!

This is a fun,easy-to-read tale as you see Paige and Noah’s relationship morph into something no one would expect!

Someday Soon is another delightful addition to the Maple Valley series by Melissa Tagg. I enjoyed revisiting this setting for the story of Noah Johansson and Paige Parker. Tagg is so talented at creating engaging, colorful, imperfect characters and putting them in situations where they grow and prosper, although she usually puts them through the wringer first. This delicious tale is a perfect read for an evening, although I found myself wishing it wouldn’t end. It was fun to catch up on characters from other Maple Valley stories.

Maple Valley and Melissa Tagg are an absolute comfort read combo for me. I loved the glimpses of characters from prior books, but this book works as a standalone. Noah & Paige's insecurities and histories were handled well and believably. I laughed, like I always do when reading a Tagg book. I thought things were a little sparse re: Paige's dad and Gram, but on the whole, I liked this book a lot.

A sweet romance & visit to Maple Valley

Great little taste of Maple Valley. I'm so glad Noah got a story. Though a novella this had all the wonderful aspects the reader has come to love in this author's writing. Good flow and dialogue. I enjoyed the themes of the story. Noah & Paige had similar struggles and I thought the resolution & growth was thoughtful.

A sweet and charming story

Wow, Melissa has done it again. I loved the storyline and characters. And, such a sweet escape 😍 She captivated me, with a heroic gentleman swimming out to save her, from an oar mishap. I loved the back story of opening up a kids rec center as well...just a good, sweet, story!

I loved this book

As with any other Melissa Tagg book, this book was well worth reading. Even though I've read a lot of similar stories, Melissa has a way with words that always touches my heart. The only problem I have with her, is that she isn't writing fast enough to my liking. Keep up the good work.

Small Town Charm

Enjoyable clean romance read that kept me turning the pages. The characters were relatable, and the story progressed at a steady pace. I will definitely look for more Maple Valley books and others by this author. There were several references to other characters who may be part of the series but it did not detract at all from being able to enjoy this novella.

The story pulled me in right from the beginning. I really liked Noah and Paige. I enjoyed their back and forth and their budding relationship. They are wonderful characters. I also really enjoyed the secondary characters. I have the first book in the Maple Valley series and it has just moved up in my TBR file after this one. I loved the way this little town helped and supported each other.

Overcoming the Past

I just discovered Melissa Tagg had another Maple Valley book I had missed. I had a!ready met Noah in Some Bright Someday but this novella with Paige captured me with a secret. It was a quick read and unlike the Muir Harbor books which take a bit
more delving, was a delightful read. Recommend! Always look forward to the next Melissa Tagg book.

If you have read the maple valley series, this is such a fun little add on to that plot! Most of us know about Lucas’s half brother Noah and this is his story. This is a shorter novella so a quick read and I highly recommend. I did give it a 4/5 stars due to the plot lacking the slightest bit and a couple other small things but I really enjoyed it!

Loved it. Wonder story. It’s been a while since I read walker family & Muir series. So it was hard to remember a lot of characters & stories. But, it can be read as a stand alone. Looking forward to reading more of this Author.
