Sometimes in love, the person who’s your future isn't always your destiny…

I was five years old when I met the love of my life. He was my best friend’s older brother, but he was also my friend. We shared popsicles, we hunted for shark teeth on Folly Beach, and told each other secrets. But everything changed when we became teenagers. Brandon no longer wanted to have anything to do with me. I was a pest. Something to ignore. I hated that he tossed away our friendship.

Although he broke my heart, it still fluttered when he looked at me, was near me, and touched me. But eventually he would look away, push away, and walk away. Finally, I realized you can’t make someone love you even if they were supposed to be your forever.

The story begins in a way that mirrors the beginnings of Noah and Tweet one Halloween night when their daughter Halle develops her first crush on her best friend’s brother. They spend a lot of time together growing up and Halle has her future with Brandon all planned out in her head, she is sure that he will eventually realize he is in love with her and they will live happily ever after… This turns out to be unrequited love, he is two years older than her and treats her like a kid sister.

Once she grows into a beautiful teenager though, Brandon wants nothing to do with her. This is sad and confusing for Halle, she thought that they were close. She has very protective parents so thus far has had a very sheltered life but at 16 years old is ready to date and live a little. Dipping her toe into a bit of socializing and a party or two brings quite a bit of male attention her way, Brandon is not happy about that.

You can see why she gets so confused around him. It’s like he doesn’t want her but doesn’t want anyone else to have her either. There is one guy though that is persistent and patient enough to eventually get past her gatekeeper and Ryan turns out to be the perfect boyfriend. He is sweet and thoughtful, her parents like him and Halle enjoys being in her first real relationship.

As Halle and Paige head off to college to begin the next chapter of their lives, Halle is still with her lovely Ryan and there is excitement about what the future will hold for them all. However, no one could have ever predicted what was to come as an unimaginable tragedy changes everything for all of them. Life will never be the same.

Is there such a thing as a cliffhanger review? Well there is now, you’re welcome :)

Okay lovelies, if you are a fan of the Present Perfect series, you are going to LOVE this! The next generation is here with plenty of with angst and heartbreak and I loved every moment of it :) Well except for the part when I cried like a baby… but then I got better :)

“I met the love of my life dressed as a red, blue, and yellow Lego on Halloween night when I was five years old.”

Forever Perfect was named to match how you feel about this book by the end. I went into this one basically blind, having never read anything by Alison G. Bailey, and boy, was I blown away.

Tropes: best friend’s brother/sister’s best friend, “it’s always been you”, childhood friends, the one that got away

Halle and Brandon became fast friends at the ages of 5 and 7, but as the years went on and they each grew up, things changed between them. Halle always had a crush, but when teenage years hit, Brandon distanced himself from her. She doesn’t know what she did to make him hate her, but she can’t help but try to repair their friendship. Brandon, wanting nothing to do with Halle, does everything in his power to keep himself as far away as possible. But when tragedy hits too close to home, they are forced to spend time together and learn how to become friends again. This entire book begs the question: Is it possible that not all soulmates are meant to be together forever?

Quote that destroyed my heart with no context: “Don’t you dare say it’s not right. That we shouldn’t have said we love each other.”

Forever Perfect was fast-paced with time-jumps, heartbreak (there were literal tears on my desk at work while I read), and the perfect amount of ooey-gooey love to make me swoon. I do highly recommend looking into the content warnings of this book (DM me if you want to know specifics). I went in knowing none and was not personally affected by some of the topics in this book, but I could definitely see how some people may be sensitive to them.

Y’all, this book is seriously a new favorite for me. It made me smile, sob, and laugh, and my heart was full when I finished it. It was also fun to have a book that was based in the Lowcountry where I live! There were no parts that I deemed “slow” or had trouble getting through. I cannot recommend it enough. I will now be reading everything that Alison G. Bailey has ever written.

I was so excited to going back to the perfect series, when I read them a few years ago I really enjoyed them and this one was no different, I loved reading about the next generation and Alison as always gave us a beautiful story filled with romance and drama.

Halle and Brandon have met since they were kids and they’ve always been drawn to each other. As they grew older their feelings were still there but Brandon started pulling away until Halle was sure he hated her and treated her only as his sister’s best friend. After some time Halle knew he was never going to see her as an equal so when another friend of them asked her out she said yes. Little by little she started opening up to Ryan and he was really amazing so while she still loved Brandon she knew she had to give Ryan a chance.

In college she really thought she was going to have a wonderful time, especially being there with her best friend and boyfriend, but after an incident her world was turned upside down. She tried to get better for her parents and friends and in that process she started sharing more with Brandon and despite everything they went through all their love was still there. They tried really hard to only be friends but they both knew life was too short to run away from their feelings. At first it was hard for Halle being with him and not feeling guilty but she realized she deserved to be happy especially with the one she had love since she was a kid.

Their interactions then were the best, I loved how Brandon didn’t gave up on her and how he did everything to be there for her. Brandon was very persistent and he knew he couldn’t push her away after everything they went through. I also love their relationship with their parents, they were all amazing and I especially loved the banter between Noah and Brad.

Halle and Brandon had to face a lot of problems but their love lead them right where they belong.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This is a legacy book in the Perfect series. Noah, Tweet, Brad, and Mabry from the original series are some of my favorite characters of all time and their stories broke my heart and put it back together. So going into this one about their children, I had high expectations. But this author delivered a story that is both new and nostalgic. It brings the same intensity of emotions. It has surprises that left me shaken. And it kept me totally enthralled and invested until the last page. It fits in the series perfectly and is the book I did not even realize I needed from this author to make it feel more complete.

Halle Stewart met Brandon Johnson as kids and they formed an immediate connection. He was her neighbor, protector, and friend until the teen years and hormones made it difficult. Her crush and his backing away eventually caused a division.

She is the good girl and his little sister's best friend so she should be off-limits. And her father hates him just like he does his father. She is an over-thinker and is sensitive. But no matter how she tries and even when she hopes she is moving on, there is still a part of her heart reserved for her first crush.

Brandon is in between a rock and a hard place. He tries to do what he thinks is right, but is still plagued by jealousy and unresolved feelings. The only way to stay sane is to stay away. He puts on a front of not caring, pushes people away, and does nothing to improve his reputation.

But when their lives are suddenly irrevocably changed, it sends their emotions spinning and opens the door that was previously closed. And only then can they face the world with open eyes and maybe open hearts. But not all of their challenges are intrinsic and there are other external factors that also impact them.

This is a story of sacrifice, patience, friendship, soul-mates, longing, love, and loss. Life is not always perfect...it is scary, messy, tragic, but there is also the potential of true love and happiness...but sometimes it involves fighting for it. This is an emotional journey for all involved...me included as I teared up a couple of times.

I also loved seeing the relationships between them and their parents, and how these characters have matured in some ways and stayed the same in others. I was especially fascinated with what kind of dads Noah and Brad became. This will forever be one of my favorite and most unforgettable series ever.

I cannot tell you how excited I was to read Brandon and Halle’s story. Present Perfect is one of my most favorite books of all time. Noah and Tweet have a very special place in my heart, so when I heard their daughter and the Smurff&$ker’s son’s story was being released, I just knew it was a must read. To say that it was everything I had hoped for is an understatement. It was so much more!

From the very beginning, it was so much fun to watch history repeat itself. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I felt like I was back in my old neighborhood. I loved watching how Brandon and Halle were together. My heart was happy and I could not stop smiling. Then they became teens and everything changed. The painful longing, the teen angst (which this author writes so beautifully), and all the hurt associated with young love left me feeling anxious but hopeful that Brandon and Halle would find their way back to each other.

Right when I thought the storyline was going transition and give me what I had been waiting for, it took a very dramatic and emotional turn. It will rip your heart out! I was shocked and heartbroken. It left me in tears. Lots and lots of tears! But just as this author always does, she breaks your heart only to mend it and make it stronger than it was before.

I absolutely loved Brandon and Halle’s story just as I loved their parents’ stories that came before them. It was such a treat to get more from this beloved series. It was so great to see Noah and Tweet as parents. Noah was hilarious in a very intense Dad kind of way. Brad was just as I remembered him. My favorite scene with these two was when they were at Folly Beach. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud! When I think of all of them together, I can’t help but giggle. I guess you can say everything happens for a reason and fate has a wicked sense of humor!

Although I haven’t read the rest of the Perfect series, I hope to go back and pick them up. Alison does not miss the mark of Forever Perfect being a heartfelt love story. What begins as a childhood friendship runs the gamut of emotions once they enter their teenage years. FP is a quick read that is sure to pull at your heartstrings as well as keep invested in the story.

Halle Stewart and Brandon Johnson met on Halloween night as children when Halle had been shoved by another boy. Brandon from that moment on became her protector and best friend. Along with Paige, Brandon’s little sister the three of them were inseparable. Furthermore, Paige and Halle became BFFs. As they got older Brandon began having feelings for Halle, but he always kept them in check since she was his sister’s best friend.

But when Brandon’s best friend Ryan began to show an interest in Halle things got harder for Brandon. Especially after Ryan and Halle began to date Brandon found the only way to avoid his jealousy was to avoid Halle altogether. Of course, this only hurt Halle more when he would act that way. I love how Ryan was with Halle, the way he was so good to her and totally protective of her, yet it was heartbreaking when her feelings were not the same as his. Ryan was a real standup guy and made the ultimate sacrifice to keep Halle safe.

But would the tragedy with Ryan be a turning point for Brandon and Halle to find each other again?

I thought that Forever Perfect was a well written. Reflecting well on the struggles of friendship/love and events of today’s world.

Highly recommended to everyone!!

4-4.5 stars. Halle Stewart and Brandon Johnson don’t quite have the same neighborly best friend relationship like Tweet and Noah growing up once Halle became a teenager, but the feelings and love are no less intense. Even though this could be read as a complete standalone, it does help to have read the books about both Halle and Brandon's parents since they are consistently present to provide guidance and support and the history between them prevents Halle's dad from trusting Brandon.

Halle is so much like Amanda and Noah, pure sweetness and warmth radiating from her with no malice or insecurity except when it comes to her best friend's brother. Brandon, on the other hand, is definitely a mini Brad, but the best parts of him balanced with his mother Mabry. It comes as no surprise that Brandon is capable of acting like the rude and insensitive jerk that his dad once was, but that is all a facade.

There's a constant push and pull with angst between Halle and Brandon because Halle knows in her heart that Brandon is the only guy for her, but he doesn't seem to want her so she entertains other options. Like all of the books in this series, there's always an underlying theme of how tomorrow is never guaranteed and to live in the present moment because that is the most perfect time. Both Halle and Brandon receive a rude awakening about this in the most tragic way, but it draws them together. I enjoyed each of the characters and the storyline, as well as the embedded messages. There were only a few small things that felt a little bit like a loose thread or I thought would turn out slightly differently, but I still couldn't stop being invested in the journey and to continue to advocate for Team Happiness on behalf of everyone.

This is the first book that I have read in the Perfect series and it could definitely be read as a standalone, although I did think I missed something in the relationship between Halle's father and Brandon's father. That being said, this was a roller coaster of emotions that I totally didn't expect. Halle knew that Brandon was the love of her life when she was five and he took care of her at Halloween. This was also the time when Brandon realized that Halle was it for him. But Halle is Paige's (Brandon's sister) best friend, so Brandon has decided that she is off limits and pulls away from her. Halle heads off to college to be with her boyfriend, Ryan, but after a devastating incident that irrevocably changes their forever, Halle takes the semester off to spend time at home. During this time, Brandon and Halle renew their friendship and come together, giving into their feelings and realizing that life is precious. This book kept me engaged, enthralled and comforted all at the same time. Loved it.

I definitely enjoyed reading Forever Perfect. I loved Halle, and mostly liked Brandon. I loved him in the beginning, tolerated him in the middle, and loved him in the end again. Halle and Brandon were childhood sweethearts but grew apart when they were teens. Halle's heart still wanted Brandon, even though he hardly looked her way. The heart wants what it wants, no matter what the other person wants. Throughout their teens they dealt with other friendships and relationships, family issues, and some tragedy. Would Brandon and Halle realize how short life is and realize they belong with each other? This is the first book I have read in this series, and the first by this author. I look forward to going back and reading the other books in the series.

Five Perfect Stars!!

This is a second generation Perfect series story done to perfection.
Halle is Noah and Tweets only daughter, and Brandon is Brad and Mabry's eldest child. Coincidentally their youngest, Paige, is also Halle's BFF.

This story took me through so many emotions. I laughed and cried, I was ready to throw my kindle, while not being able to put it down... All I can say is Alison has done it again! To say this is probably my favorite series ever written, wouldn't be an understatement. I've been #TeamAlison since the release of Present Perfect. And don't come after my Noah, because I'll fight you! 🤣 But I have to say Brandon rates right up there in heros that make a girl swoon.

My heart was so happy being back in this world. Rather you're an OG fan of the Perfect series, or a brand new reader, this is one book you don't want to miss.

Brandon and Halle knew each other since they were kids. She was his sisters best friend and they always shared a connection. Though out the years that connection was tested but it was always there. They both shared family drama, friendships and tragedy but one thing never changed….deep inside they truly had a deep connection. The older they got the deeper the connection became. This was an emotional journey and a great story. The characters were well developed and the story had great depth. I enjoyed the strong friendships and bond they shared. Brandon and Halle were good together and I look forward to reading more books by this author.

This book was the perfect amount of emotions. I haven’t had tears in my eyes from a book in forever. Alison respectfully showed what can happen in a blink of an eye and to always be thankful for what you have and to tell the love of your life you love them!
Brandon and Halle had the perfect relationship to where they knew how to push each others buttons and be there for one another. Their story was truly lovely and I loved seeing their parents as well.
Paige was hilarious and maybe we will see more of her?? Arc provided for honest review!

This was my first Alison Bailey book & my first of this series. I won't lie I did feel a little out of the loop & wanted to know what the heck had happened with all the drama with the parents! Aside from that I read the book in record time it was a short book & there was such great tension between Brandon & Halle that I couldn't resist turning to the next page. There are many things I liked & a few I didn't, I've listed them below the spoiler line.

𝗪𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰: Duel POV, Best Friends Brother, Small Town, Soul Mates, Happily Ever After

Spoiler Below

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 Forever Perfect: The author did a great job of pulling you in quickly & showing just how hard being apart was for Halle & Brandon. She also did great building up Ryan from complete douche canoe territory & making my heart frayed for Halle. Ryan was one-dimensional & it did seem to like/love Halle but I don't for one second believe he wasn't hound dogging around on campus for two years. I also felt like we could have explored a little bit more of why exactly he went after Halle so hard when he knew that Brandon was in love with her. It seems like every person knew this fact but Halle & Brandon. I wish we could have explored his jealousy being a factor for why were together in the first place. Ryan's death was a surprise & a terrifying part of the book that I wasn't expecting. However, I think it was done really well & I was so heartbroken for the "after".

I also loved Paige, she is one badass bitch & undeniably herself.

The parents were hilarious & I really enjoyed the built-up tension between Halle's dad & Brandon. I also loved that all of the parents were so funny & still into each other after so long.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭:⁣
This is my first Bailey read so I'm not sure if all of her books are like this but I REALLY wanted more from some of these scenes & characters such as:
- the first love-making scene, too short, not enough connection & emotion
- Drake - what the hell Halle? You just abandoned your friend in his crisis
- Paige - also, what the hell Halle? You just replaced Paige with Brandon & I'm not okay with it! When Paige was in town they should have had a girl's night instead Paige just vanished from the scene and wasn't heard from again until the last pages of the book
- Also Paige - with how jealous Paige was throughout most of the book & always telling Halle how embarrassing her crush on Brandon was, it seems like she would have much more to say about the fall out of this relationship.
- Ryan Fallout - We needed more, not depressingly so but we needed some more from his parents, what did they think of Brandon & Halle? Did they ever recover from sobbing each time they saw Halle? I think Halle would have been bobbling with more emotional currents when sleeping with Brandon the first time, doing all these firsts with Brandon versus Ryan & what all that meant. It felt like Ryan just vanished & everyone moved on too quickly. Which hurt me, for Ryan.

I gave this book 4/5 stars for the reasons above.

Forever Perfect is a wonderful addition to the Perfect series. I've read book one, Present Perfect, more times than I can count so it was a true treat getting to catch up with Noah, Tweet, and have this book be about their daughter Halle. This story clearly mimics Halle's parents' romance a bit, with her having met the man she would forever love when she was just a little girl on Halloween, something Bailey gave us as a sneak peek all those years ago in an epilogue. It's filled with sweet moments and even a bit of harsh reality as Halle comes of age, loving one man with all of her heart and appreciating what another did for her before she could even think about the future she craved.

We get Halle's entire childhood, first as Brandon's friend and then as his assumed enemy, as their teenage years prove almost too much for both of them. I loved the tension between them even though it hurt Halle over and over again that the boy she could never forget treated her way too harshly. And I have to say, that's my one pet peeve about this book. Brandon was almost cruel as he keeps his distance from Halle yet practically threatens any guy who tries to get close to her. He frustrated me big time and I truly felt for Halle having to walk on eggshells around her best friend's older brother way too often.

I will say, however, that Ryan was a real highlight and stand-up guy, and his patience when it came to Halle deserved an award. His heroics prove to be a turning point in the story, finally giving Brandon a push towards finally accepting his own feelings towards the girl he couldn't get out of his heart.

The book plays out as it should, shared pain a driving force for Brandon to finally claim his girl despite all his past feelings of never being good enough and for Halle to let go of what she has lost but will never forget. Noah, Tweet, Brad, and Mabry play a huge part in their children's decisions and it was almost comical at how much Noah still despises Brad for what happened back in high school. However, it must be said that while I chuckled a bit at his reactions to both Brad and his doppelganger Brandon, Noah was a bit out of line in not realizing that a son shouldn't be judged for the sins of his father. It was almost overkill at how stern he was at keeping his daughter away from the son of his supposed enemy.

However, the last few chapters, which had a last bit of angst that pulled once more at my heartstrings, together with a sigh-worthy epilogue clearly sealed the deal between Halle and the love of her life and I was extremely happy at how everything turned out. It's not always an easy task writing about the children of beloved characters but I'd say that Bailey did a good job and left this long-time reader with a huge smile on her face.

4 big stars!

Overview:

Halle knew her heart was set for Brandon the day they first met. She was five, dressed as a Lego on Halloween, with Brandon as her knight in shining armor as he saved her from being teased by Ryan, Halle’s childhood bully. As they grew up, Ryan changed a complete 360, from a plain bully to a lovely gentleman. He then ended up being best friends with Brandon, whose sister became best friends with Halle. During Brandon and Ryan’s senior year, Ryan made a move as he started to like Halle as more than friends. Wanting to put his best friend’s feelings as the top priority, he had to put his feelings for Halle aside, if this means having her hate him for the sake of Ryan’s happiness.

Review:

I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did. It was a cute read, despite the tw// shooting and having to read about Halle’s mom’s experience with cancer which hit too close to home. Halle’s overprotective dad can be a bit too harsh to Brandon at times, but it’s understandable as Halle’s their only child. I loved the concept and plot of this book, however, I feel like the whole Ryan thing was brushed off way too quickly. I felt so bad and sad because I did not expect it to turn out the way it did. Imagine the gasp I let out when I read that whole part.

Brandon’s motives to hurt Halle to make her hate him was understandable, though my sensitive ass got a bit too triggered and I could feel my heart hurt for Halle, especially since she’s nothing but a sweet, soft girl.

Halle and Paige’s relationship was chef’s kiss. I’d love to read more of their experience in college together, I feel like that would’ve been so fun, especially with their dynamic.

The ending felt too rushed for me. Didn’t allow me to enjoy the last few chapters because before I knew it, it was the end, but it’s okay because the epilogue made up for it. The epilogue was perfect, loved it, it was cliché, but so perfect.

This is a second generation romance - between the children of previous Perfect series couples, and it has the perfect amount of involvement from those former favorite characters to make a connection but also let these characters stand on their own.

Halle and Brandon grew up as neighbors. He was her best friend’s older brother so even though she had a crush on him, she was off limits to him. By the time they are in high school, she has been hurt by his pulling away, and he is all about no-strings fun when it comes to girls. Their friendship may be on the outs, but there is still a part of Halle’s heart connected to her first crush.

They experience a tragedy that has them both lost, looking for safety. Even though they weren’t a safe place for each other, there is still the connection from their childhood that has them reaching towards each other.

I was shocked at the turn of events about mid-way through the story, and for me the second half of the book changed everything I was thinking about the first half. I think I might be getting too old to spend too long in the high school years of any story, because the drama that teenagers create causes me to lose patience with characters. But in this case, their college situation changed it all for me and I found myself loving both Halle and Brandon.

This was an emotional story filled with longing, grief, and good friends. While I struggled for a bit with the beginning of the story, I loved the emotional impact of the second half. I wish that second half could have continued a little further, just because I wanted so much more of that connection for them.

Overall Grade: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Disclaimer: While Forever Perfect is a standalone in a series, I do think reading the earlier books in Alison G. Bailey’s The Perfect Series would lend depth to this book. I did not read the earlier books, so I found myself guessing over the relationships between the female and male protagonists and their parents. To understand Halle and Brandon, I recommend starting with book 1, Present Perfect, and reading through to this newest book in the series.

That being said, Alison G. Bailey’s Forever Perfect is textbook soulmates, best friend’s brother romance. In this story, Halle and Brandon have loved each other from childhood, but Brandon continually denies his interest in Halle. In their youth, it has more to do with her proximity to his sister, but later he chooses to avoid her because his best friend asks her out. Much of this story is Brandon’s denial of his love for Halle, and Bailey puts her reader through the paces with these two. Like Brandon, Halle also denies her attraction to Brandon, and she hides in her relationship with Ryan. It isn’t until catastrophe strikes and their reality rushes in to wake them up that they acknowledge their love for each other. After that, Forever Perfect rushes on as an insta-love story until its breathtaking, forever-type of a happy ending.

Everything in Forever Perfect is expected for the tropes that Bailey has chosen for Halle and Brandon. You can’t help but like them. Their denial of love is frustrating, and I’m not certain that I care for the way that Bailey removes Ryan from the situation. It’s my biggest criticism of the book. I also think that Halle and Brandon’s story is similar to their parents which makes it feel like an addendum instead of a new space for them. But again, I didn’t read the earlier books, and I’m uncertain about it.

Did I enjoy reading Forever Perfect? Absolutely! Would I recommend it? Yes. Did it bowl me over? Not really. However, if you’ve read the earlier stories, I imagine this book packs a bigger emotional punch. In the end, it’s another opportunity to spend some time with Alison G. Bailey as she invites you into her world of storytelling.

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: Forever Perfect
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
AUTHOR: Alison G. Bailey
TROPE: contemporary romance, college romance
TYPE: Perfect #4
POV: Dual POV
MY RATING: 4.0 Stars

Halle and Brandon met when she was five years old. He was her best friends’ older brother but also made time to include her. When they became teenagers, Brandon stepped away from her. The close friendship that they once had was no longer there. If anything, Halle felt as though Brandon hated her for some reason. She’d always loved him and couldn’t figure out why he no longer wanted to be her friend. Turns out, Brandon didn’t hate her…he just couldn’t be with her. So, he acted mean to push her away. Eventually he pushed her directly into the arms of his best friend.

Fast forward to her freshman year in college, tragedy strikes and she returns home full of heartbreak. The two of them realize that maybe they were done fighting the inevitable.

I enjoyed reading this book. I was surprised when the sensitive subject matter was introduced. I felt just awful reading it. This book is much more emotional than when you first look at it. Halle and Brandon have danced around each other for years. Everyone knew that Halle was head over heels in love with Brandon even though he paid attention to every other woman except for her.

This is a slow burn romance. It takes our couple a long time to finally get together. They face a lot of challenges along the way. It was a beautiful read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My Review (ARC provided)
4.5 stars!

This book brought me right back to 2013 when I read and devoured Amanda and Noah’s story in Present Perfect. I get to read and feel everything from this wonderful series all over again. It’s several years later and we get the kid's story now!

This love story starts on Halloween when a sweet young Brandon rescues a sweet young girl (Halle) dressed as a lego, very much the same feels as when Noah and Amanda meet. Brandon is a couple of years older than Halle and her best friend's brother. They become fast friends and Brandon becomes her protector, that is until she gets older and he starts looking at her differently.

This whole book is a love story about two people that won't let go and show their love for each other. It’s filled with angst and passion and while you are rooting for these two to make it work something always happens that comes in between them.

This book was so well written, it has an angsty little love triangle thrown in and you can’t help but love the other person. You don't want them together but yet you feel bad because you don't if that makes sense? Alison does such a good job of writing that other person that you can't help but love them.

Please be warned that this book may trigger some people, I can not write the trigger for fear of spoiling the book, but I’d be happy to tell you in a private message. It tore me up and made me cry, but ultimately it's what brought our Forever Perfect couple together. I am so happy I got to read these beautiful words and get more of this series I love so much!

Despite her grandmother's wishes to dress her as a princess, Halle's mother allowed her to pick her own costume. Her father agreed that as long as she didn't leave his sight she could walk to the doors by herself. She is proudly walking up to the doors for trick-or-treating wearing her red, blue and yellow Lego costume when a kid runs past almost knocking her down. As she looks up at the boy who kept her from falling she was mesmerized by Superman standing before her. And when he gave her his strawberry Blow Pop she fell in love.

Brandon is her best friend Paige's older brother and she has no idea why the man she fell in love with when she was five started avoiding her like she had the plague when she turned thirteen. And Ryan the boy who used to torment her calling her Hootie had grown up to be a gorgeous sweet man. Despite her continued obsession with Brandon when Ryan asks her out she agrees knowing that her and Brandon aren't meant to be.

I absolutely loved this book! What an emotional rollercoaster. Prepare to cry!!! This book is very well written, the storyline is gripping and the characters are fully developed and highly relatable.

This book is action-packed and full of emotion. It takes a tragedy to wake up Brandon and realize tomorrow isn't promised, but did he wait too long? This book will make you laugh, make you cry and totally break your heart. But, through all the pain come happiness. Highly recommend this story!

First off…..LOVE , LOVE , LOVE the cover ❣️📕

After the first few pages I found myself singing “ Brandon and Halle sitting in a tree …” much to the amusement of those around me 🤷‍♀️🥰🤪 what can I say I just knew ….

So Brandon and Halle have come along way and share a history and I think I was overly fond of Halle as my little girl gets teased for her glasses and gets called owl eyes so she had a special place in my heart ❤️ in any case Halle list her to Brandon as a little girl at halloween , as a teen he ignored her as she was a little younger but then comes a day when his eyes open and he sees what is right in front of him and life seems perfect ….

Tragedy strikes and life as they know it changes ….

I didn’t read the previous series but I think I should as I’ll have a better insight to people but one thing I can say is that I walked away , yet again , being reminded of how precious life is 🙏❣️ we need to fight for what is right , what we want and yes life isn’t a bed of roses and it isn’t always easy but it is a blessed gift and journey !

Beautiful people to make a brilliant read ❣️📕

In ‘Forever Perfect’ we meet Halle and Brandon. Halle is Brandon’s little sisters best friend and they always had this special bond. Brandon always felt protective about Halle. But she has always been off limits. When they are in their teens, they start to grow apart. Brandon keeps hurting Halle with how distant he gets at times. And his jealousy makes things even more complicated.

The two main characters Halle and Brandon where fun to get to know. I loved how Halle and Brandon grew up together, and I loved their connection. I’ve always had a thing for the ‘little sisters best friend trope’ (probably because it’s how I met my husband), and their connection is definitely something that made this book fun.

Throughout this book I felt like I missed something. I can’t really explain what it was exactly. But although their connection was fun to read and the writing was easy to read, this book was not what I expected and hoped for. I missed the chemistry, and I felled like things where a bit rushed in the end.

That gorgeous cover though, is something I can keep looking at. And I definitely still like to read more books by Alison G. Bailey.

Forever perfect is the fourth installment In Alison G Baileys ( Perfect Series ) although it is my first time reading this author and this series , I most definitely will now be me last . In fact I cannot wait to go back and read the first 3 books . When I first sat down and started reading I went in with a completely open mind, I was not sure what to expect . What I did not expect was how fast I fell in love not only with Hallie and Brandon both so likable , so relatable and so utterly intriguing but with the storyline as well , a story that is guaranteed to tug at all your heartstrings and take you on the most wonderful emotional rollercoaster ride . Hallie and Brandon were childhood sweethearts but as they got older they grew apart . Hallie has never stopped wanting Brandon even when he didn’t know she existed ( unrequited love is never easy , my heart broke for Hallie and all the emotional turmoil she had to endure . Certain circumstances eventually lead to Brandon realizing that the perfect person has been right in from of him the other whole time , but is it too late or do they have a chance to be together.

I admit I wasn’t paying attention when I signed up for this book. I didn’t realize it was a series, which is fine. However, it made me a little nervous at first because I couldn’t tell if this was a standalone book or if I needed to read the other books first. Never fear! This can be read like a standalone book!

With unforgettable characters and a plot that effortlessly transitions between the past and the present, “Forever Perfect” is a great weekend read. Bailey’s writing style is fantastic and draws you in from the very beginning. You will experience a range of emotions, so I apologize in advance. The pacing is quite perfect; there weren’t any parts that lulled for me.

Brandon and Halle were terrific characters. They went through a lot, and I found myself rooting for them to have a happy ending. Their interactions were beautiful, and I loved the interactions they had with their parents.

It’s a beautiful story that will give fans of the series a chance to catch up with a few of their favorite characters. I’ll be adding the rest of this series to be TBR list!

Forever Perfect is a great brother's best friend romance by Alison G Bailey. This is the fourth book in the Perfect series and is easily read as a standalone.

I can never resist a brother's best friend romance. And this is my favorite kind, as Halle and Brandon have known each other growing up. They were even good friends...until they weren't.

Their story is told with time jumps, as we get to see the past and the present. And the present starts with Brandon hating Halle, creating a nice enemies to lovers storyline. And damn, their story is full of pain and obstacles, but their love is well worth the journey.

The writing is great, with an intriguing storyline and two interesting characters. The story is fast paced, with everything flowing nicely. There are definitely some tough subject matters, so be warned.

Overall, Forever Perfect is a great read. I love this Alison G Bailey book, as it's full of all the feels. I definitely recommend it the next time you're in the mood for a brother's best friend romance.

Forever Perfect is a friends to enemies- back to friends/ best friends older brother love story. It follows Halle, Noah and Tweets daughter from Presently Perfect. Halle meets who she believes to be the love of her life on Halloween when she is five. Next door neighbor, Brandon, comes to her rescue when another little boy is teasing her. Halle, Brandon and Brandon’s little sister Paige are best friends until they hit their teen years. The girls remain besties, but Brandon starts acting like he hates Halle.the story follows them through high school then college. They go through a lot before they both finally admit their feelings to each other. This book was very entertaining and sometimes emotional to read. I enjoyed watching these two, along with their friends navigate life. I also enjoyed getting to see grown up versions of Noah and Tweet. What a wonderful story. I definitely recommend reading it.

Not having read the previous books in the series, I wasn't entirely sure how I'd feel about this since I'm one of those readers that likes to read a series in order, but I didn't feel lost when I read this and really enjoyed it from start to finish. So many emotions all over the place between Brandon and Halle, the quiet longing and seemingly unrequited feelings on both sides kept me engaged and eagerly swiping to see how things would play out for these two, especially when another person entered the picture and caused quite the shift in dynamics between Halle and Brandon. After reading books for the last hundred years, I knew there was going to be something that caused the main characters to finally acknowledge feelings out loud, I just wasn't expecting that sort of event, and that really kept me up reading late at night, wanting to know if and how any sort of relationship would happen, and I was not disappointed.

i really wish i had read the other books first to have more background on the side characters, BUT I still loved it anyway!

This book made me laugh, cry, and everything in between. It was such a rollercoaster watching these characters find themselves and their way to each other. Even when things seemed impossible for them, the characters still found a way to grow and make their way back.

I loved both of our main characters. Having both perspectives really added a lot to the story. I think if we only had one perspective, we wouldn't have fully understood the connection and feelings that these characters had for each other.

Trigger warnings on cancer, school shooting, and death.

A beautiful story that showed how love will remain no matter the time or effort to push it away, when it is the person you are meant to be with.
