In the deep shadows of the supernatural world lies a prison whose captives are organized by supernatural race, capabilities, and destructive power. The lower the level, the more lethal — and desirable — the individual.
As a Nephilim at the Psychic Prison for Supernaturals, I'm banished to the depths of its lowest level, a hellhole from which few ever return. Captivity is no ballgame, but considering I'm the guinea pig for a psychotic doctor's research, I'd much rather remain in my cell for all eternity — just as I was sentenced to do at the age of ten.
My crime? Merely existing. I managed to hide for years, but fate finally caught up with me. And that's not all. If the latest lab results are to be believed, I'm more lethal than I seem at first glance, which means I'll never be free again.
My redemption? Well, that's in the hands of three dangerous men, one of whom is the Faerest of them all. Alongside a banished fae king, a demigod, and an Omega Wolf, I'm destined to experience whole levels of pain in my new captivity.
Prison shouldn't stir a romantic cocktail of pleasure, pain, and hope, but here I stand, bared and ready. If I'm destined to be confined, maybe it's time I played by someone else's rules.
Time to play this game of captivity with my three faeiry absolutes.
I wanted to like this book so badly. The cover was pretty. The premise of a supernatural prison and a redemption story really drew me in. However, I felt truly disappointed when I started getting into Celestrial Prison.
Why? Let me tell you.
First, the plot was erratic. The story started off fine enough. We meet Celeste at ten years old. She’s been abandoned by her parents and left to die after the trauma she has endured. Celeste is saved and eventually meets the three people who become the most important in her life. Even if the plot was developing faster than I would have liked, I was fine with it. I enjoyed Celeste’s character as a mature and intelligent child beyond her years. Then, there is the time skip. This is halfway through the book. We meet Celeste again as a teenager and you could hardly recognize her as the same person from six years ago. It was almost like meeting a completely different character. Sure, she’s growing up but it’s almost too drastic of a change to fully believe it is the same MC. Then, there are two more significant time jumps in the book (there is a small one week time skip but nothing as large as years of passed time), and they feel just as misplaced as the first one did. It made the plot feel disjointed and merely used to quicken the training Celeste, Constantine, and Zackery were receiving. I understand the need to use that as a plot device, and I usually enjoy a well placed time jump, but it was just too much and poorly handled.
Second, the grammar was just off at certain places. I can look past a few bad sentences every now and then, but to find run-ons and poorly worded sentences every couple pages, especially in the beginning, was just too much for me.
Lastly, the characters. I just did not connect to any of them. I liked Celeste in the beginning, but then the time skips happened and she became this wholly other character who I didn’t like at all. Her Absolutes seem like good characters, if not cookie-cutter molds, but they were also very two-dimensional and hard to relate with. The only one I really liked out of them all was Constantine because he was a little more unique than the rest, especially concerning his feelings and emotional intelligence.
Although I really did like the premise of the series, I just don’t think I’ll be partaking any more. The writing wasn’t great and it was hard to connect with what was happening to our characters and the world around them. The only reason I even bothered to finish with the book is because I was already about 70% through when I gave up trying to like it. Definitely would have been a DNF if I hadn’t bothered to try and connect with the story as much as I did.
Want to know how this book is going for me? My stream of consciousness commentary while reading the first half of the prologue: - And I raaaannnn, I ran so far awaaayyyy. - "flowed frantically"? This could be better. I get it, but it's weird. - "Seemed to be". I hate seemed to be. Either be or don't be. Try: ...glowing golden strands; the only light cutting through the dark. - Awesome, wordy run-on sentences in this one! "coming from the part of my back that should have been the wings I'd been born with." = slicing through my back where my wings should be. - "tears left" = tears streamed, dripped, rolled, something other than left. Where did they go? Vacation? - More awesome, this author is trying to be fancy. "my flushed cheeks were the canvas to the streams of water and sweat that rolled down the burning surface"? J to the super C. First of all, I thought your tears had left? Second of all, are your cheeks flushed or burning? Pick one. Cheeks as canvas... new and maybe not pretty. Flushed and burning and canvas and sweaty. These cheeks are all the things. - The heat that's making it harder to breathe, is that from your cheeks? That's the only heat referenced so far. - The shackles thing needs a rework. - "I fight for freedom" Are you William Wallace? Because right now you're running. Are you in a war? Is this some sort of battlefield? Are you fleeing to freedom? Because that would make more sense in the current context. - How does agony bring "bits of motivation"? The agony of my desires bring (no s, agony is singular) motivation to... what? Go faster? Keep going? - Run-on sentence that should be reworked. Also... you dream every day and night? Do you do anything else? - Random melodramatic statement apropos to nothing. - Another, this time italicized, confusing statement mixing unrelated imagery and metaphor. - More heat, unsure how cheeks can create "scorching torture". Melodrama ensues. - Oooh, she's a lonely one! - Wishing for her mom. Mom = "the woman who decided to bring me into this cruel world" eye roll. - Now lonely for a man, oh, such a man. He's a prince who never comes; Bunch of sentences about no prince all worded slightly differently. Let's just say, he ain't comin'. - Yeah, good paragraph of the body falling to the ground. - Someone else is in the dark, y'all. - Wait what? run-on sentence... you like the fear that makes you collapse? Does "fall into its own demise" mean... suicide? I need to diagram these sentences to figure out what's going on. - "these heavy eyelids" are these yours? The other voice in the dark? Are you referring to yourself in the third person now? - "A Nephilim without darkness was an outcast full of trouble" Possible translation: NephiliUm who are good (without darkness = with light = good?) is an outcast. Unsure about full of trouble. Are you full of trouble because being an outcast is troublesome? Or are you full of trouble AND an outcast? I can overthink this one, but suffice it to say, unnecessary. - You're still fighting? Fighting what? Being an outcast? Seems like the dark. Because without it you'll be an outcast? No, seems you're fighting the dark and in this case the dark is dreams? Because your family is in the light. The light... which means you want it? Yeah, mixed metaphors are confusing. Less is more. - Effing h-e double hockey sticks. More metaphors about the surface = light = reality? Defeat? Back in the war! Oh, now a freakin' battle. AND a journey!!
Yeah, that is how this entire book is going for me. Could have been a contender, but mostly it's run-on sentences full of mixed metaphors and now I don't even know if I care.
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! I've adored each and every series by our beloved author. This book however gave me such complete joy! We get an interesting glimpse at characters from long ago series in a very unique way. I for one can't wait to see where this goes!!! Our of each of her recent prison series, I must say *this* one is out of this world. We finally get to meet the older imprisoned dragon fae brother of certain characters rumoured to be so bad that nobody could enter his prison level. Like all things in each of these prison books not all is as it seems. I can't wait for him to eventually meet his twin sisters ❤. This book takes place in numerous timeframes. We meet a ten year old Celeste at a heartbreaking time in her life. The eventual men in her life equally go through immense pain and heartbreak. We get to follow them through certain age ranges until we each the penultimate and bada$$ current day. Be warned there is the biggest doozy of a cliffhanger that'll leave you DESPERATE for the follow up now!!!! I'm loving everything about Celeste...she's witty, snarky, full of sass, yet protective of those she loves. She's only now starting to see all she's capable of, and the world is about to learn just how awesome she actually is!!!!! Welcome to the show :)
I fell in love with these prison books and was looking forward to Celeste's story. I was not disappointed in the least as this book totally blew my mind. She is amazing after experiencing some really tough stuff. Powerful, smart, funny, and just absolutely incredible. I especially love the Celestia tidbits. Total must read!!! I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars!!!!
When I read an RH, that's kind of what I expect. This...I hit 51% before the main characteristic even 16, which is still young in my book bc I have a 15yr old daughter so gross. Seriously, there should have been a way to sum it up, maybe refer back to her past here and there. Half of the book the MC is 10.....I kept forcing myself to read even though I was annoyed. I mean, I should not be able to share an RH with my kids like some screwed up Grimm Brothers tale. I think this should have been listed in just fiction and not advertised as a steamy read.
The world building was shoddy at best and nonexistent at worst. The character development was piecemeal and lacking. There was no real relationship building and no real reason to emotionally invest in the secondary characters, aside from the basic "screwed over" plot devices. The were issues with misused homonyms and apostrophes, there were also missing words and incorrect tenses used. It's sad that all of these issues were missed or glossed over by not one, but two different authors and an editor.
Supernatural Child Abandonment and Four Beings That Save Each Other!💔😡😭🙏💕💛💘💙💘💜💘 Cruelty Breeds Determination & The Need For Redemption!💪🙏😍🌟💥 (Read using Kindle Unlimited) Celestial Prison (For the Faeiry Absolutes #1)
Celeste is a Nephilim Princess. Their entire species in on the run & in hiding because dark forces are attacking them to steal their feathers, each one is extremely powerful & worth millions!! Her Mother has been training her hard since she was little, without anyone knowing, even in the before, when there was peace. Celeste holds a vast amount knowledge on most subjects, for a 10 year old. Then one night she's captured & with her staring up to the sky begging her King & Queen parents to intercede, her wings are hacked from her back!💔😭 Her Mother stops her Father from helping, even as she's left there to die by the hunters. She tells the King she'll give him more heirs, better ones as this one, Celeste, is now useless to them without wings!!😡 Her Dad tries to come to her aid again but the Queen stops him so Celeste finds some dregs of energy & curses her with infertility & to feel a fraction of the pain she's caused her, they both then disappear as scream of pain errupts from the Queens mouth!😳
Zachery, an Omega Wolf shifter saves Celeste along with Klaus, a Demigod Warlock. Together they save Constantine, he's a hybrid Fae Dragon shifter. He's 10 years old as well. Zachery is 16 years & Klaus is over 120 years old!😳 They're all went to supernatural prison on trumped up charges but Klaus promises to train them all while they're locked up, so they can be strong enough to take revenge on whomever did wrong by them & seek redemption once they're free!!😍💥
This was painfully sad reading at times. The things these kids went through was heartbreaking!💔😭 I loved the friendships they all forged regardless of the Faeiry Absolutes bond they're marked with.🙏 I hope Klaus fixes his mistake in book #2. 😳💘 I'm looking forward to seeing where this series goes next.😃 I could tell which part were written by Ms Song as she writes almost as if English is her 2nd language, it didn't come across as well in some chapters!😕 I hope they're more careful with that going forward!🍀🙏🍀
Celeste is a young and heartbroken 10 years old when we first meet her, she has been physically and mentally abused by the very people who should sacrifice anything and everything to keep her safe and happy.
Instead her mother makes her train from sun up to sundown. Not even allowing her a break to eat. When the hunters descended on her parents, Celeste hears her mother cry out for her. Believing that she can help save them, she unknowingly falls into the trap that the hunters have set out. After watching her parents hover above her captured and broken body, watching while the hunters sliced her wings from her body; Celeste begs them to please save her...but instead they leave Celeste alone, broken and injured to die; while they escape.
Celeste is saved by a handsome teenager, a sexy demigod and a young dragon who vows to protect her and help her obtain her much deserved revenge on the parents who mistakenly believe she is worthless and of little value.
We get to watch the evolution of Celeste from young and innocent girl into a powerful and self confident woman, who will challenge any and all comers who think to destroy the men she has unknowingly claimed and who she deeply loves.
This is one of those books that immediately grabs your imagination and takes you on a journey that will have you laughing, crying, and anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!
Lovedddd it! Celeste is a Nephilim Princess on the run with her parents when she's trapped and has her wings ripped off. Her parents leave her for dead. Then an Omega Wolf Zachery, who is a prince that left his family and kingdom after learning the truth about his ruthless father, finds her and takes her to someone who can help. They meet up with Klaus who is a wizard Demigod and he tries to help her. Before he can they find Constantine, a Dragon Prince, chained and left to die. Celeste saves him, sacrificing herself, while they are under attack. Constantine saves her in return. They are then all marked as her Faiery Absolutes. For trespassing they get sent to prison. The story then takes us over the next 10 years and as they grow, train and develop their relationship with one another. Also somewhat get revenge on their parents. Seriously my favorite prison book yet. Definitely sets a back story for all the others
This book took a different turn from where several of the other books in this set have. While many of them give you the background of the character they also show all the intersections the main character has with the other people in the set. This book took a different approach by only showing us the backstory.
We get to meet Celeste as a child and see how she becomes a Faeiry Absolute. We continue on as she meets her others in Klaus, Constantine, and Zachery. I love the fact that Constantine is in this book as he is a reference for others in the set. This book also contained some references to other series' that Avery Song has written. I feel like this book took on a whole nother level in how a story can be told.
I definitely suggest reading this book, particularly if you were reading the set, as it gives us an in-depth understanding of Celeste's character. I also feel it shows the dynamic of Avery Song's writing and how she portrays this world she's created.
The emotional trauma in this book was heartbreaking! Once I got past the bit, it was amazing as always. Finding out more about the evil ones plans and how very long he has been working on them was enlightening. I loved Constantine, his connection with Celeste is so very amazing. So many questions, eager for books two. I’m eager to learn more about what it means to be a faeiry absolute. I can’t wait for Constantine to learn the truth about Faith and Wilfried’s marriage! I know Celeste and her guys have more obstacles ahead of them,, but I hope they have time to celebrate their reunion.
This book was absolutely amazing. After getting glimpses of Celeste throughout the other Supernatural Prison books I have been eager to learn more about her. I loved that we got to experience this journey with her from the fateful moment her wings were cut off and she was abandoned until the moment she fully rose above it all and became a member of the council. Watching her grow has been an amazing adventure. I hope that book 2 will show her reunion with her men, being away for 10 years could not have been easy! Also, I am eager to see if Klaus decides to take his head out of his ass and try to woe Celeste. I cannot wait until book 2!
Avery Song is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. She has such a versatile imagination and she work well with other authors on the same book/series. This book is one I’ve been waiting for to get a better look into Celeste who has been in other prison books. And this book didn’t disappoint. The flair of the story was remarkable. The love, adventure and danger all combined to one great storyline. I felt drawn into the story like I was there getting to trouble and fun right along with the main characters. There were bits and parts for everyone to enjoy. This book is a great start to another series. Can’t wait to find out what happens next.
I think Celeste's story should be read first and I am frustrated that her next story is so far away. I hope someday there will be a list of the different POV's of the different women in this world so that there was a chronological order to their stories. I have tried to read the first story of each woman, starting with Cassandra who seems to be the newest woman, next was Alisha, then Ivy, and now Celeste.
Each woman has common themes of betrayal, abandonment, and pain. They also have men who help them and heal their pain so they can be even stronger. I am so in love with this world.
Wow, you would think with all these prison series we would be sick of them, but NOOOO!! This author makes each series so freaking different from each one, yet ties them all in a neat little bow so they compliment each other. This story follows Celeste, and I love that we see so much of her life as she grows up. We meet some new yummy, faelicious men in this book who I can't wait to learn more about. This book really just sets up the next book so well, I can't wait to read more to see what happens next!!
I totally love how all these books link into each other. This book goes back before the characters from the adjoining books where born to show the paths of Celeste and a certain Dragon prince we were all led to believe was bad and evil. With the help of Klaus and her saviour Zachary we see them all grow and learn things they will need to survive whilst being in the supernatural prison. With loads of twists and turns we also get to see some hot action plus love bonds growing. To end the book on a high but also a slight cliffhanger wanting to know what Celeste is going to do.
Am I creeped out by the 10 year old having sexually charged conversations with a 16 year old? Absolutely. Am I still just as grossed out reading about said 10 year old having heavy sex scenes at 16? Most definitely. The concept for this book had so much potential but I just felt completely weirded out by the authors choice of age for the majority of this book, followed by huge time leaps which leave you missing enormous chunks of character development. Just felt rushed. Won't be continuing the series.
Celestial Prison is one increbile, exhilarating ride! Celeste's growth is the greatest yet in this universe and it was so much fun to watch her go from a child to a formidable force. He trio of companions are just as intriguing. Constantine finally makes a real appearance and more clues come to the surface as to what's going on in the supernatural world. It's my favorite story so far. I flew through it so fast because I just couldn't put it down. Another wonderful take from a very talented author.
I loved Celestial prison. I started reading books in this ”world” with Supernatural innmate and loved seeng some of whats going on in level 4. I was so exited for this book to come out i read it in one day. If you have read about a certan Unicorn shifter you will love this book. I loved meeting Celeste and her boys/men. Reading and following some of her childhood was interesting. It was different than what im used to from this author but i loved it and Celeste’s story.
Holy dumplings! This book had me crying, laughing and fanning myself all in one read. It is simply AMAZING. She references alot of past characters and i love how we get another view of Constantine story (Gus) lmao. The ending has me desperate for the next book. Huge cliffhanger. Like slap in your face cliffhanger. This is by far my favorite read. She really takes the time to develop the characters and Celeste is a total freaking badass!!!
Celestial Prison is another great storyline from the Paranormal Prison series. Celeste is another relatable character who is no damsel in distress, but a smart heroine who is grounded and can and does rescue her hero’s/harem/knights. I enjoyed reading the scenes and interactions with the harem and seeing some of the growth during the story. Well done authors!
Boom! That ending, it made me so excited to see where this storyline goes. These characters are fantastic and Celeste is a completely badass. I definitely look forward to reading the next book and to read how they weave all the storylines together. Great read that I definitely recommend reading, especially if you are reading the other books in the paranormal/supernatural prison series.
My heart was broken by the betrayal and horror of what happened to Celeste and Constantine as children. But loved when klaus and Zachary took them in. I laughed at the teenagers they became and was so happy with the adults they were at the end of the story. Avery Song has done it again. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of this world. I can’t wait for the next installment of it.
I have been in a funk lately, where I don't want to read. As always, I get so excited when I see one of my favorite authors publish a new book. So when I see that Avery has released another book...well lets just say I scared the cat lol. I devoured the book in a little less than 5 hours. It was sooo good!!! Loved the story development. Highly recommended.
This book was absolutely everything I thought it'd be and so much more. Celeste is such a great character and one I loved from the start. I really, really liked the guys as well. This series along with the others in this world have kept me addicted and I just can not get enough of them all. I know the next book will be even better and I cant wait for it.
This book continues the universe of Avery’s prison series but we now get to learn about Celeste and many other characters that have popped up in other stories like Constantine. I really enjoy learning the back stories, how they got to the prison and how the men all met and fell in love with Celeste. Another winner from Avery Song!
I LOVED THIS BOOK. This is going to be an amazing series. I love that we get to see her grow up and face the hardships and how she always gets back up when she is knocked down. That she is willing to stand by her word, be in defending who she deems as hers or when someone doesn’t give her the love she deserves. I can’t wait until book 2
Celestial Prison, ties every Paranormal Prison series together. This is the glue in one book. Avery has added her fourth girl in a way that is dynamic. This books covers many other stories. Failure to read this book would be a huge mistake. A huge mistake because I am sure this part of the series will continue to tie up loose ends.
