What Happens in Sturgis

Rate this book
Mixing business with pleasure…

For Vince, general manager of Dream Machines Custom Motorcycles, the annual trip to the world famous motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota is never about just business. Every year there are plenty of cool bikes and hot women, both of them ready for a laid-back joyride. But this year the boss sent along the company’s newest hire—a woman. And Tori is all business.

Kissing is overrated…

She may manage the order process at Dream Machines, but with a degree in biology, Tori isn’t just another pretty face. As Vince and Tori become a finely-tuned team in the sales booth, he also discovers she’s not as straight-laced as he’d thought. Then late one night he reveals a secret he’s never shared with anyone—and the reason he doesn’t like kissing.

Never too late to learn…

The fact that Vince avoids kissing has never stopped him from getting what he wants from women. But Tori is determined to teach him what he’s been missing: Slow, sweet, mind-blowing, heart-racing kissing. But when their fragile new romance is threatened, will Tori kiss him goodbye? Does what happens in Sturgis only last as long as the rally? Or can Vince find it in himself to make the kissing last forever?

Tracey’s writing has been described as “vivid” and “gut-wrenchingly beautiful” and has been accused of making readers cry. All of which makes her heart feel ten times bigger because (despite having the appearance of a got-it-together business owner) she’s a hopeless romantic who believes that love—in all its many forms—truly makes the world go round.

Get swept away by wounded, flawed and vulnerable heroes (and the women who love them).

Join strong heroines on their riveting journeys through loss, forgiveness and self-realization.

Hang onto the edge of your seat through action-packed adventure and drama.

And most of all, escape into the combustible combination of ‘slow burn’ sensual pleasure and true love!

Tracey is a former Army combat medic and EMT. When not writing (or working part-time to support her writing habit), Tracey enjoys riding her motorcycle (which she affectionately calls ‘Black Widow’); spending time at the lake with family; and watching her favorite soccer teams (which include her kids’).

She lives on a 3-acre oasis in small-town Minnesota with a small menagerie of critters, an infinitesimally understanding hubby, and two almost-grown children who put up with the ‘embarrassment’ of a motorcycle-riding, romance writing mom!

Sturgis, South Dakota is host to one of of the largest motorcycle rallies in the United States. Thousands of people attend as participants, vendors, or both. Vince and some of his co-workers are in Sturgis running a booth during the rally. After revealing a secret concerning his aversion to kissing, Tori, one of Vince's co-workers, tries to reset his views.

A Biker's Kiss is a short novella that brings together two unlikely characters. Vince fits the image of a bad boy biker and Tori as a women that doesn't get involved in the biker scene beyond her shift at the booth. When Vince divulges his reasons behind never kissing a woman, Tori is both horrified and determined to help him move beyond the issues.

The novel contains limited backstory, really just providing what the reader needs to know about Vince. The development occurs in the present with Tori. The situation unfolds respectfully instead of Tori taking Vince's secret and waving it around in public. I really feel that the relationship building between Vince and Tori is executed well and is written in a believable way. I enjoyed A Biker's Kiss.

Quick, okay read 2.5 stars

What Happens In Sturgis was not the MC or biker romance I was expecting. With such a sexy book cover and blurb I was thinking in the lines of most of the MC romances, but instead found a sweet love story. The writing and descriptions are one dimensional in this short novella and the plot a bit slow, almost as if it were a journal of routine tasks these two people did while at the motorcycle event at Sturgis. Vince gets a lesson on kissing and realizes there is more to intimacy. The more they spend together both find an undeniable attraction.
