The world is at the brink of disaster, and the demigods want him dead. Derk knows the tribulations he faces force him into perilous situations, but with Tyla and Tasnia sworn to his side, he might save things yet. With new and unproven allies, plus a mysterious elf named Diane, now he must navigate intrigue and assassins to build his power enough to fend off those who pursue him. Should be simple, right? Nobody wins without taking a few risks after all.
A good continuation of the series. Thing progress as they normally do in these types of stories. It has been a while since I read this book since I was on vacation so I don't have anything specific to mention about the book except I enjoyed it.
Its the end of the book but I am thinking of not reading the next . The American Marine. Has his ass handed to him for.the second time by a woman for underestimating the unknown about her and that and his lack of total.situational.awareness has cost several lives and this time his wounded pride and lack of attention brought him a broken nose and almost another ass whipping by a second woman . He is either too tired, his power is weakening or.... He has lost his power all together . About the only thing he is really good at is bedding his harem members . His women are his saviors. Its another story where the he never has, enough power to do his job but someone is always there to do his job and, save him
Some good curveballs thrown in the storyline like Jess being resurrected as an AI, the dwarfen spy (setting up situations for a multi-racial harem) and the MC being able to absorb power from all his adversaries. The alien's plots are becoming more interesting and clearer. As expected Diane has regained her memories upon joining the harem but its not clear yet why she is such a shy voyaire. All told, the plot holds together well, the characters are interesting and as happens in real life, some fall in battle along the way.
Still a pretty decent story, with a lot of stuff being held back from our knowledge.
The MC gains the expected third harem member, and a potential fourth is hinted at. The plot starts to thicken some with the aliens, and the MC starts to change the rules of the game a little. I'm hoping it pulls closer together in the third book.
Some awesome world building!!! A truly interesting mix of cultivation and traditional magic use!! A MC that bends or out right breaks the rules makes this series so much mire enjoyable!!
It's a good book dude nerds to get a lot stronger the he's been progressing with was just too slow and got people killed I hope that finally got through to him to hurry it up
I think without a doubt this is my favorite series of this type of story. It has sex but it is not over done, it tells a story a very good story with very likable characters. I'm getting the next book in the series and will look up more of this author..
More ladies have joined the harem, we’re getting more powers, discovering what it’s gonna take to win back the world. And we still have not compromised on our morals. I am loving Derrick story so far onto book 3.
I am still dragging my self to end this book, but a the 74% it is already hard to not DNF it. I have a theory why: the author may be a fan of The Wheel of Time and a militar or ex-militar. He found awesome to make a novel with the basic concept of The Wheel of Time (a world where only women has magical powers) and add his militar knowhow on tatics and leadership! It didn't work....:/ The result was a boring main character that talk and talk and talk, and you have a extremely heavy dialogue focused novel, where EVERYONE has long and formal conversation EVERYWHERE, AND EVERYTIME. The story can't move on with so many babbling around while the author is desperately to show, by proxy with his annoying hero, how much he knows about forming a militia. As long of course, everyone in the militia is into long and formal conversation even when they are refugees, in the middle of nowhere, running away from a genocidal army. The only interresting character end up being the villain, which I enjoyed his interactions with Patricia, but his "screen time" was drastically reduced on this sequel, probably due to censorship. I will concluded this book, but I am giving up to follow the series from this book on.
UPDATE
Crossed the finish line today! Nothing has improved since my last review. Actually the hero has become a kind of Mary Sue( since his a male the correct term would be Gary Stu). So I finished like I promised to my self and I am calling the quits like I have decided too.
