Iron Body Conditioning Methods: for the Modern Martial Artist

Rate this book
Make no mistake, when a real fight happens, you will get hit. If you haven't conditioned your body to give and take punishment, you will be at a huge disadvantage. All of the fighting skills in the world are useless if you can't survive getting hit by your opponent. Warriors of the past knew this, so they used Iron Body conditioning methods to prepare themselves for combat. Many of these methods have been passed down through the martial arts for generations but they are not often used by modern practitioners. In Iron Body Conditioning for the Modern Martial Artist, the author shares simple but highly effective exercises that will toughen the body to give and take punishment. Topics covered include proper posture to protect yourself from strikes both standing and, on the ground, recovering from the ground, training for falls on hard surfaces, impact breathing, conditioning the natural weapons of the body, a simple Iron Palm training routine, preparing to take a punch, mental conditioning and more. No stunts or magic, just proven conditioning methods to turn your body into iron.

Clear explanations, easy to follow and good quality pictures to show the exercises. I began reading it mostly out of curiosity and it was a great and pleasant surprise. A must read for aspiring martial artists and weekend warriors.
