Motherhood at the End of the World:

Rate this book
The first book in a trilogy. An immersive, first person point of view suspense story, of a mother in her mid-thirties after a global disaster . Marlene, is trying to protect her family and fine a safe place to live. A Coronal Mass Ejection triggered geomagnetic storms which caused massive destruction and the breakdown of society. Marlene and her family have taken shelter with other survivors; under the protection of a small group of soldiers. As winter is approaching, other bands of survivors turn violent, and desperation grows. Marlene must make tough decisions and face many dangers to keep her children safe. This is an apocalypse story for 30+ crowd. An exploration on how a mother might have to tackle the challenges of a disaster. What decisions she might face, how she might plan. The end of the world doesn't change a mother's job. Children still need to be fed, washed, and have a safe place to sleep. It isn't just a story for moms. Anyone who has ever wanted to see a strong mother fight for her kids will love this story.

This book was so good, i loved it.
My favorite things included how there wasnt a prepper or someone who knew everything about every gun ever made. It felt real and possible. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Amazing first book to a trilogy, I love how it wasnt filled with a prepper or someone who knew everything about every gun or survival instrument. The characters were well though out and so believable that I could picture myself in their shoes. I look forward to reading more from this author and the rest of this series. I was sad when it reached the end of the book I just wanted more.
Thank you for letting me read it before the book comes out officially.

I absolutely loved this book. It was so nice to read a book with a main character I could relate to.

I love stories that have to do with a post-apocalyptic situation and this one was written beautifully. We are immediately feeling that we are in the story. Something has happened but we aren't sure the extent of the event around the world. Mouse is doing everything she possibly can to ensure the safety of her family and friends. I felt like I was right along side of her while she was out scavenging for supplies and helping the group she was with.

The story shows us what one mother will do to protect her family. I can't wait for a second installment to this story!!

This book was everything i hoped it would be. It seriously spoke to me as a mother. Marlene is everything i hope to be if that situation really happened. All the situations that Marlene and her family fund themselves in are very plausable and that makes it a scary good read. I loved the characters. This is one of my top ten favorite books ever.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an HONEST review and that's what you're about to read:

This is a unique take on what happens when the world as we know it comes to an end. A post-apocalyptic world that explores what would happen if the husband wasn't the one doing all the stuff but the wife was. The mom is the resourceful one(just like most moms in our current world) and finds a way. The mom is the one doing what needs to be done, protecting her family, keeping things going, and keeping their family together.
I honestly feel like this book is the most accurate account yet of what most mothers would be like in that scenario. The book was interesting. It was realistic, even set in a post-apocalyptic world. It was no-frills but still exciting and captivating. Perfect balance of the every day and the WTF.
Great read! And the first in a trilogy!

This is an incredibly compelling story with well-rounded, relatable characters. How DOES life look after the world as we know it changes? Jesse did a fantastic job giving us a look at just that. I highly recommend it to those as intrigued with apocalyptic fantasy, as I am. I would also recommend it to anyone who wants a good great with the ability to pull you from the realities of daily life.
