ECP - Bravo Manhunters #3

Hunting for Susan

Can love truly heal all wounds?

Former Army medic, Susan Moore, wants to use her newly achieved Nurse Practitioner’s license for more than rescue operations. She wants to make a difference — even if it means being forced to deal with an irritatingly hot British doctor.

After being apart from his favorite spitfire nurse for months, Dr. Liam Sutton discovers Susan’s working in West Africa for Doctors Without Borders. This is the opportunity Liam needs to get to know the vixen, so he seizes the moment and joins her on the trip.

However, when tragedy strikes their clinic, he’s left for dead and a Nigerian militant leader has taken Susan as his bride. Did Liam lose his one chance to find love? Not if he has anything to say about it!

With help from ECP's Bravo Team, they set out to find Susan, except the girl they bring home isn't the one they once knew. Will their love be enough to heal the wounds left behind by her captors?

**This story includes depictions of physical and sexual abuse.

Speechless

Wow! This is one of those books that has so many layers to it that first, you don’t want it to end and second, you have to reflect after it ends. One things that I absolutely loved about this book is that the author embraced the trauma. Many books gloss over this but I believe it is extremely crucial to talk about healing, body, soul and spirit, as well. The author did the character justice in that area. Healing comes when it comes. There is no timeframe. I have recently discovered this author and have been going back to read her books. Definitely recommend but be aware there are triggers.

Hunting for Susan is intense beginning to end. The action is fast paced, the danger explosive, the emotions are riveting, the importance of friendship and unconditional love are front and center and the psychological ramifications of suffering physical, mental and emotional trauma explored. Dr Liam Sutton made no bones about his attraction to Susan "Doc" Moore. She wasn't exactly receptive. Fast forward, they end up on the same Doctors Without Borders assignment. Liam finally gets to press his case and gets Susan in his arms. A violent encounter ends in murder and Susan's abduction by Nigerian militia group whose leader is intent on making Susan his own. ECP Bravo team rescues Susan but not before she suffers at the hands of the leader. Her recovery is a long, tough road but Liam is there every step of the way.

Susan works for ECP. She has some medical issues but takes medicine for it. Liam really likes Susan but she keeps pushing him away.
Liam and Susan run into each other in London. When Liam finds out where she is going, he follows.
While they are in Africa, they are attacked and Susan is taken. So believes Liam is dead. Her captor abused her physically.
When she is found, she is catatonic. When Liam arrives, she still believes he is dead.
Will Liam be able to bring Susan back? Will she give him a chance?

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat through the whole book. Plenty of action, suspense, terror, and abuse that may trigger some. When Susan is kidnapped, Ethan, her boss and father figure, will do anything to find her. Her and Liam will have their chance.

Good book

I have read both books so far in the series and been drawn in with the characters and the lives they have lived so far. Each looking for something more and finding some one share it with. Look forward to the next book.

I like the Bravo series. With the man hunter series I can read about a lot of different problems. This one was a little dark but seemed realistic and how things and people would react if taken by a militia leader. I like how things weren’t minimized. Susan’s reaction was believable.

I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.
This story is a little darker than the previous ones but so amazing. There are definitely a few things that could be triggers for some (domestic violence and rape) but they are not drawn-out and are used to help the story flow.
