All Too Familiar: A Collection of Paranormal Cozy Mysteries

Rate this book
Take a crime-filled tour of the paranormal with this collection of all-new stories of familiars, felonies, and flimsy alibies in this limited-edition cozy mystery anthology.

From hexed rats to talking cats to mated ravens and magical havens, All too Familiar is brimming with mystery and mayhem. Each story is set in the author's own world, offering readers the opportunity to explore new neighborhoods, meet likely suspects, and solve page-turning mysteries.

In Jane Hinchey's exclusive story, "Fur the Hex of It," undercover SIA operative and witch Holly Day is hiding out in Gravestone, Texas. She hasn't even unpacked before her rat familiar unearths a human bone in her backyard.

In Belinda White's fun (no murder) mystery set in the Gemstone Coven universe, Ruby Ravenswind is up to her eyeballs in trouble, as usual. As if trying to raise two very special Yorkie-mix pups wasn't bad enough, now she has to deal with a backyard prowler!

And in Paula Lester's first in a new series, "Impurrfect Magic," Ivy Patterson has returned to her sleepy hometown, and things are going great. That is, until a dead body, a know-it-all kitten, and a black magic side hustle fall squarely into her lap.

With additional stories from Polly Holmes, Christine Bernard, Kelly Ethan, Maggie Mundy, and Susanne Becker, All too Familiar is teeming with bubbling cauldrons, furry—and not so furry—familiars, and cases waiting to be cracked. Grab your copy of this limited-edition collection today.

Excellent stories

So far, I’ve only read three of the stories: the ones by Polly Holmes, Kelly Ethan and Paula Lester, and all three were excellent! So fun!

Polly Holmes’ story is called Cats, Crime & Creme Brulee and it was very entertaining!

Kelly Ethan’s story is called Banshee, Vikings and Voodoo and it was super fun!

Paula Lester’s story is called Impurrfect Magic and it was so cool! The prequel to a new series and I couldn’t be more excited! Well-written and very moore-ish! Very well-developed with some amazing twists and turns.

Based on these three stories, I highly recommend this collection!

Fur the Hex of It was such a fun book to read in this anthology. I especially loved the punny names and the color changing rat. They, and other things, add a touch of humor to this entertaining book.

Holly Day, aka Tess Hunter, an undercover agent for the supernatural investigation bureau, finds herself hiding out to avoid bounty hunters. She’s sent to live in an abandoned house in Gravestone, Texas. She’s befriended by a local, Doris Shutt, who joins Holly as she seeks to settle into her new abode, renovate it, and discover who’s behind the murder of a local man that no one liked.

This is a quick and engaging read. I enjoyed it very much, and I hope to see more of Holly Day in the future. The only thing that would have made this book better is if the recipe for Holly's Snickerdoodles had been included.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.

This review is for Jane Hinchey’s addition to this anthology, and boy is it a fun one! Holly Day is in hiding because of her latest job in the Supernatural Investigation Agency, and she can’t seem to keep her dead down. She’s drawn into a mystery in this small town, and she has to solve it before she’s the next victim. I just loved how self-assured and together Holly is. Doris and Flynn were fun sidekicks, and let’s not forget Calder, the law in the town. While we didn’t get to learn too much about the town, I’m hoping that are more to give us a more thorough look at the town and its inhabitant. I thought this was a fun book and hope we see more of all the characters. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I read Polly Holmes Cats, Crime & Crème Brûlée. This book is full of Eater Day fun at Noble Crest Assisted Living - until there is a murder. Evelyn and Miss Saffron are on the job! The plot kept me entertained and reading until I reached the end! I am eager to read more of these great stories.

☆FUR THE HEX OF IT☆ JANE HINCHEY☆

FUR-REAL,
JANE HINCHEY'S NO FAUX COZY QUEEN!

ADELAIDE'S QUEEN OF MAGIC, MURDER, MAYHEM, MYSTERY & MADNESS DOES IT AGAIN WITH A FOURTH STRAIGHT COZY SERIES WIN!!

Meet SIA (Supernatural Investigation Agency) Agent Tess (Twitch) Hunter aka Holly Day & ex-partner Agent Gavin Flynn, her Werewolf bodyguard (hit by a Dark Magic Spell transforming him to a Rat).
Now hiding out in a tiny coastal town in the middle of Nowhereville USA! Welcome to Gravestone, South Texas,

Living in the run-down home of a recently deceased resident, John Smith (Holly's supposedly long lost estranged Great Uncle). Holly is not only undercover but in hiding like, witness protection after a failed hit attempt on her life as her last case went so horribly wrong.
Tess's boss Scott Harding suspects there's a mole within the ranks of the SIA & spirits Tess away for safety.

Come meet the crazy characters and the charismatic sleepy little coastal town of Gravestone. A place where nothing much happens, except a tonne of magic, murder, mystery, mayhem & madness seems to be the exception. Can there be more to Gravestone than first meets the eye?

Will Holly & Flynn lay low, keeping her real identity & she's a witch secret? And can she refrain from using her magic & powers, knowing that using them will light up her location for the bad guys like fireworks light up the night sky?

With help on the way from the Mad as a Hatter, lovable, determined elderly firecracker in new ally & buddy Doris Schutt, can this unlikely dynamic duo set a trap, solve & catch the town murder all before the Sheriff does? And will the SIA mole be caught, all the while drawing out the Illegal Magic Syndicate Ring's Hitman? All the while keeping Holly's life, real identity & career safe? And will Flynn be forced to stay in the form of a Rat Familiar forever? And what's up with the constant coat change? Some Hinkey Hinchey hijinks going on there! Lol!

Ms Hinche is back in fine form with this
fabulous new tasty series opener.
Spinning a brilliant new tale with loveable, cheesy & engaging new characters & top-notch writing that had me cacking myself laughing as always. Definitely a book to sink your teeth into.

Could the fabulously funny fantastic Ms Hinchey be a witch? Has she put a Hex or Spell on all her buy & read her books Fur-Real? Or is she simply that talented? I think the latter, but Go Out, Grab It & Decide For Yourself! I promise you won't regret it!

Oh and the hilarious character names!
A typical Hinchey trademark usually comes in the form of business names, but this time we see Jane take it a hilarious step further with a run on puns with cast names. As far as I'm concerned, a true Hinchey calling card and trademark!
Can u spot them all & which is your favourite? Mine has to be Ophelia Paine (I feel a pain) & Denise Hurt (Da Knee's Hurt), but Holly Day (Holiday), Ken Opener (can opener) & Gus O'Genenn's (Guess Again) are pretty good too!.

Come join Adelaide's fabulously fantastic Cozy Queen Ms Jane Hinchey & her incredible new Cast & Crew of Gravestone, Texas for the craziest wildest murder mystery ride in town!

I Rate FUR THE HEX OF IT 5☆ Out Of 5☆!
A Great Series Opener, Can Not Wait For Book 2!

This review is for Jane Hinchey's story in the anthology, Fur the Hex of it:

Fur the Hex of it is the first in a new series by Jane Hinchey and if you love Hinchey’s work and cozy paranormal’s you will definitely love this book.

This time we meet Twitch the Witch who, with her colleague Flynn, have literally been hit with dark magic. For Twitch this results in a broken bone in her foot which can’t be magically healed, and poor Flynn has been turned into a rat.

Fearing a mole in the organisation, the head of the SIA has created a new identity for Twitch and sent her off to the sleepy town of Gravestone for protection.

Twitch, now known as Holly Day, is to pass herself off as the long-lost great niece of the recently deceased John Smith, who has come to Gravestone to claim her inheritance with her pet rat Flynn.
Holly doesn’t get off to a good start when she gets on the wrong side of the local law officer Sherriff Joshua Calder as she staggers into town dragging her orthopedic walking boot encased foot. Firstly, she seems incapable of responding to any of his questions without snarly sarcasm, and secondly when he spies her rat. Turns out Calder really really doesn’t like rats.

Things don’t look like they will improve much when Calder drops her at John Smith’s property, and she sees the state of it. Then there’s a knock at the door and standing there is an elderly lady who introduces herself as Doris Shutt (hint, for those of you not from the USA it helps to read all the names of the characters in this book with a slight drawl to pick up the punny names!).

Doris rapidly organises the local ladies into a cleaning squad to turn Holly’s new abode into somewhere livable. Then, just as the ladies have organised all the old furniture etc. into a nice bonfire shaped heap, Calder turns up to remind them, again, that no fires are allowed. Seems Gravestone’s women have a predilection for pyromania!

Then things start to get interesting, Flynn suddenly appears dragging what is clearly human bones, one of the ladies who has a weak stomach vomits all over Holly and somehow Calder seems to think that Holly is responsible for the bones that have turned up.

From here Holly finds herself embroiled in exactly what she doesn’t want while supposedly hunkering down in a safe house, tracking a body, and possibly a murderer. With Doris by her side, or possibly leading the way, she tries to stay one step ahead of Calder, to discover if the bones belonged to Seth Saltzman, if so where his body was, who killed him and how, what really happened to her supposed great uncle, what the connection with the mayor is, and what’s going on with Flynn and his fur colour.

A fabulous fun read with plenty of twists, turns and red herrings (and enough punny names to make you groan!). A five-star read from me.

Fur The Hex of It by Jane Hinchey - This book is so so good. It's rear that I find a book that I get so engrossed in that I can't put it down, that was this book. I sat down to read this book and was so surprised how much I got into it. I loved these characters, Doris is kinda how I imagine how older southern women are. I really liked the rat, Flynn. These are the kind of women I'd love to be friends with. I liked how Doris just took Holly under her wing and treated her like family. I'm hoping Holly and Calder get together. This was my first Jane Hinchey book, it won't be my last. I will read the next book, I hope she writes more books in this series.

Broom Service by Christine Bernard - I liked this book. It took a bit to get into this book. I liked the characters and I loved Fern so much. I liked thzt finally accepted what she is and that she had so mnay people to support her and talk to. I wish there was a bit more to this book but I did enjoy it very much. This author is new to me and she did a very good job with this novella.

Cat, Crime & Creme Brulee by Polly Holmes - This novella is a perfect introduction to the characters of this series. The characters are fun and quirky, I really like Evelyn. The best part is the talking cat. This book is different, the lead detective welcomes Evelyn's invovlement with the investigation. I like that her boyfriend helps her, not hinder her. I will have to start this series from the beginning.

Banshee, Vikings & Voodoo by Kelly Ethan - This story kind of surprised me. I'm not one for zombie anything, the zombie in this book reminded me of a spirit. I liked the characters, especially Holly and Elspeth. I will have to try Lila's books but I'm hoping after this that Holly gets a book or two. I liked how the family came together to solve this mystery.

Spooky Familiars At Foxglove Cottage by Maggie Mundy - I may update this part at a later time.

Familiar Unspelled by Susanne Becker - I'll update this at a later time

Impurrfect Magic by Paula Lester - I'll update this at a later time

Yorkie Doodle's Boys by Belinda White - I'll update this at a later time

This is my first review of an anthology, I think I did this right. My favorite story out of this book is Fur The Hex of It but this whole anthology is good.

Another paranormal cozy mystery anthology that is not to be missed!
If you love paranormal cozy mysteries and are looking for either new authors to discover or just want to read short stories, well... All Too Familiar is for you.
The great thing about an anthology is, authors love to tease with a new series, introducing them in a short story to see if readers like it. Something that I really love, but also , often they write them so they can give us hungry readers a little more inside views of a series.
Whichever an author decides to write, it works for me.

In fact in this anthology I kind of get both!
The first story I was looking forward to is Fur The Hex Of It by Jane Hinchey!
This is a introduction to a new series and I absolutely loved it and cannot wait for more!
Witch Holly Day is in witness protection , alongside her familiar rat.
She cannot use her powers , which proves a little bit of a conundrum for her.
In the coastal town of Gravestone, she pretends to have inherited a house from a estranged uncle.
On her first day her rat finds human bones.
Can she resist the mystery or will she try and solve the case with her newfound friend ?
I think you can guess the answer.
As with all of Jane's stories, you've got witty and hilarious characters, great storylines and the supporting characters always add that extra bit of excitement and also make you want more!

The second story I was excited about is Kelly Ethan's Banshee, Vikings & Vodoo.
This is an introduction to Holly Harrow, cousin of Xandie Meyers & Lila Harrow.
The Point Muse series started with Librarian Xandie and the first Spin off was Baker Lila.
And now it's Holly's turn to solve crimes.
As with all the Point Muse books you can expect a lot of hilarity, a great storyline , outrageously interfering relatives and a mystery that is unique to each of the Harrow girls!
Definitely not to be missed!

Now onto the other stories , I'm excited for all of them!

This review is for Jane Hinchey's story Fur the Hex of it in this anthology. What a great beginning to a new series and I can't wait for more! We are introduced to Twitch, a witch and her partner Flynn who worked for the SIA. When her boss thinks there is a mole in the organization which got her and Flynn with black magic, he sent Flynn and her to a "safe" town with the name Holly Day, and in no uncertain terms, she can't show any magic and has to lay low with a broken leg from the incident with the mole. Flynn was turned into a rat. When Holly with her broke leg cast and Flynn get dropped off miles from the town and has to walk, the sheriff stops to help. Wow do I LOVE her sarcasm throughout beginning with getting off to a bad start with the town sheriff. I love the feisty Doris who welcomes Holly to town and with her town lady friends helps Holly put the house she is staying in under the guise of being the niece of the man who died there. When bones are found on this property, Holly with her feisty friend Doris take it on themselves to investigate. We are treated to so many threads in this book that is so deftly woven together like the murders, evil magical signs, magic, an irate Mayor who has it out for Holly and friends and a surprise ending. I can't wait to see what will happen next! You will love the characters especially Holly, Doris and who can't love Holly's familiar, Flynn! I received and ARC of this story but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

an exciting collection featuring several favorite authors and a few new to me. Witches and shifters and ghosts - oh my!

fun, sarcastic, ironic, sisterhood stuff, and insightful. I particularly enjoyed Fur the Hex of it by Jane Hinchey.

An ex paranormal agent undercover trying to stay alive and hide her witchy and agent skills fails at the keeping training and skills hidden.

She also fails to keep out of trouble when death comes to her doorstep. And of course she befriends Doris, so trouble is a given.

Twisted motives and murderous mayhem meet witchy and agent adventures.

I enjoyed meeting a new witch from Paula Lester. Ivy is ready for the next phase in her life, after leaving a teaching job, stressed out by paperwork and administrative work . Taking over the produce shop from her uncle was supposed to start in another nine months, if he felt ready. Tragic events intervened, and Ivy ginds herself looking into the murder of her uncle, and exploring the inborn dark magic she shared with her uncle.

Evil, or just different? how would she know? could accepting the magic she was born to help her help others and become more whole herself, or is that the way if dark arts? Intriguing and self reflective witchly adventures with whodunnit thrown in. I bought this book on Kindle, and cannot wait to read more!

This review is for Jane Hinchey's Fur the Hex of It. Holly Day, aka Tess Hunter, aka Twitch, has been sent off to the outer limits of Texas by her boss at the Supernatural Investigation Agency (SIA) to lay low for awhile. It seems someone really wants her dead after she busted up a wand smuggling ring. The wands had been tainted with deadly magic and Twitch's cover had been blown. She had been put in a safe house but she and her guard had been attacked with a magical blast that had left him stuck as a rat and her with a boot cast due to a broken foot. So, she had been given a cover as a long lost niece of a recently deceased man and Flynn came along as her pet rat. Forbidden to use magic, she is expected to blend in and keep her nose clean until the SIA finds the mole who outed her. Unfortunately, that is not as easy as it sounds.

I won't ruin the story for you. Not everything is wrapped up at the end, so there will be more of Holly and Flynn to come. You will love Doris who is Gravestone's Miss Marple (snicker).

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Fur the Hex of It by Jane Hinchley

Fur the Hex of It introduces us to Holly Day, an SIA agent hiding out in a remote town aptly named Gravestone. Unfortunately for Holly, her hide out is anything but low profile when human remains are found under the house by her newly appointed familiar Flynn, drawing her and nosey local, Doris, into the centre of a murder investigation.
This kicks off a riotous journey filled with hilarious names, snarky dialogue, eccentric seniors and small town intrigue. There are many laugh out loud moments, particularly with the puntastic names and the exasperated sheriff juggling his fear of rats and trying contain the general mayhem incited by Doris.
Jane has a fabulous knack for creating strong but relatable female characters. In particular I love her representation of senior women leading rich, complex and often mischievous lives - women who I would love to have in my life. I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to see more of Holly, Flynn and Doris.

Banshees,Vikings, and Voodoo by Kelly Ethan
Did you know that there are Vikings in New Orleans? Did you know that they can be considered paranormal? The PIG does. Read story to find out what that stands for and then laugh!!!

So much for Holly's all-expenses paid trip from her bosses. She just wants to get to the auction and bid on the item they want. She bids all right. Gets a surprise too. All that and more!!!

Holly's turn at being the star. If your familiar with series and the three cousins. If you are not, don't worry. YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE THIS!!!!

So go ahead and read it, great introduction to all the books. You will definitely want to go read the others after this. Especially to see what they mean by the grandmother's mayhem. Just laughing thinking about her antics in the series. I especially like the hair.

Easily a standalone book. Good clean and fun read.

This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

My review is for Jane Hinchey's - Fur the Hex of it.

Twitch the witch aka Holly Day is in hiding in the small town of Gravestone, Texas with her colleague Flynn who got hit was some seriously bad magick that turned him into a rat, and now her pet/familiar.
This is only the beginning of a rather entertaining adventure for Holly. The people she meets in this small town are not exactly as they appear and it's just so much fun trying to figure out who or what is coming next. Holly is to keep a low profile (while hiding of course) but when a hand is found on her property by Flynn, it looks like her new friend Doris is determined for her and Holly to solve the mystery before Calder, the sexy and surly sheriff can.

This had a great cast of characters, an interesting mystery and it was a ton of fun reading. The author knows how to connect with the reader and I look forward to more adventures in Gravestone, Texas with the small town of misfits :)

What a great collection of good reads here.
In Banshee, Vikings and Voodoo: Holly and Xandie are on vacation in New Orleans. Well a working vacation as Holly's boss has sent her on a buying trip. As they are Harrow's, mayhem is sure to follow. Elsabeth also makes an appearance in this one to help the girls out. These books are always fun and such a laugh out loud read.

In Fur the Hex of it: Holly Day has been banished to Gravestone, TX along with her pet rat, Flynn.
She is an agent of SIU and is now in hiding after her last job.Gravestone is not what she thought it would be. She must hide her abilities to stay safe. A dead body shows up on her doorstep and she gets involved with Doris and the locals to figure out what happened. This series is full of unique and hysterical characters. I will be coming back for more.

I want to start off by saying that I've only read the first story in this book so far, Jane Hinchey's Fur the Hex of It. I will update my review as soon as I read more.

I enjoyed Jane's contribution to the anthology. The pacing was steady and the characters were funny and interesting. It was cool to see a familiar that wasn't a cat or a dog for once. it was also funny to see people's reactions to Flynn being a rat. There wasn't much magic in this story, but it's the first book of the series and Holly is supposed to be undercover and not using her magic. I'm guessing there will be more magic in the next one, due to some interesting news that Holly gets. I'm very curious to see why Flynn's color keeps changing and what shenanigans Doris gets Holly into next.

I'm excited to read the rest of the stories in this anthology, as I have read books from some of the other authors before.

Supernatural Investigation Undercover Agent Holly Day has arrived in Gravestone with her familiar rat, Flynn, who just so happens to be her former partner. The town is filled with sweet little old ladies and hunky guys, all of whom are only too anxious to get to know Holly better. But when Flynn brings her a severed hand, and she’s considered a prime suspect, what’s a witch to do? Ordered by her superior to lay low and not use her magic for any reason, how will Holly solve the murder and possibly her own life? And just what secrets are hiding in Gravestone? Jane Hinchey has done it again…created quirky characters that you instantly fall in love with, set in a town that you desperately want to visit! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

FABULOUS FAMILIAR ADVENTURES
What is about familiars that is so tempting, that they can most times talk? or find a way to communicate, that they are always on the witches side? or it that they always seem to be toilet trained? ha ha. So far I haven't met a familiar I didn't like. Now in this collection I have just finished "Fur the hex of it" by Jane Hinchey and it was great, a magic law agent, damaged and laying low from the baddies gets mixed up in some old lady side kick sleuthing. Love the Rat and his multi-colouring fur. I am off to continue reading.
I bought this collection as soon as I saw it advertised. Recommended for anyone with an imagination and who see's the smaller things in life, Happy reading.

Who is Holly? What does she do for a living and where do we find her? Why is she there? Who and what is Flynn? What and who are the Supernatural Investigation Agency (SIA)? Who is Scott and how does he know Holly and Flynn? What happens when the sheriff shows up? Omg, she has truly landed in the devil's armpit hasn't she? Oh, I could not stop laughing at the play on names for some of the folks in the town. I'm still trying to figure out if there's a meaning to others! Oh, the trials Doris and Holly get into and put Calder through are funny! What book does Denise borrow/take from Holly's house? Read and see what happens when the Mayor shows up. I liked this story so much and cannot wait to read th enext book in the series!!! Enjoy the read! I did.

I haven't read all of the stories in this anthology and am only reviewing Fur the Hex of it. This is an introduction to what's going to be another fabulous series by Jane Hinchey. I'm already in love with the quirky characters, and who couldn't love a town named Gravestone. I prefer to jump into Jane's books without knowing anything about the story so I can fully enjoy the surprises, so I'm just going to tell you that it's fabulous and one that you won't want to put down. I feel like I read it fairy quickly, but that's mostly because I completely lost track of time while I was reading it. The story does end in a cliffhanger, but that only makes me more excited for the next one. Its a wonderful story and shouldn't be missed.

This anthology of cozy paranormal mysteries is for every cozy lover, even if you think paranormal isn't your thing. I've read all four and can say without hesitation the stories are all well written, have humor that encompasses snarky to laugh out loud, and are just plain fun. Although I initially purchased the book for the Cats, Crime & Creme Brulee book, by Polly Holmes, I recognized the other authors as ones I've enjoyed in the past and I wasn't disappointed. Fun, entertaining, and a surprisingly quick read especially when you consider the estimated page length. If you haven't been introduced to any of these authors yet, this will make you go back and purchase books they've previously written! If you love a good cozy and like to snort laugh, this is the book for you!

This is a great collection of stories, and each author brings their own unique story to the series.
Jane Hinchey’s story Fur the Hex of It was a fun story. Holly Day is in hiding because of her latest job in the Supernatural Investigation Agency, and she can’t seem to keep her head down. She’s drawn into a mystery in this small town, and she has to solve it before she’s the next victim. Doris and Flynn were fun sidekicks, and let’s not forget Calder, the law in the town. Whilst we didn’t get to know too much about the town, I’m hoping that are more stories coming. This was a fun book and hope we see more of all the characters
Whilst this is only one review all the stories have been fun to read. I’m looking forward to reading more from these authors.

This looks to be such a good read full of paranormal mysteries written by some fantastic authors.
My review is for Jane Hinchey's exclusive story, "Fur the Hex of It," undercover SIA operative and witch Holly Day is hiding out in Gravestone, Texas. She hasn't even unpacked before her rat familiar unearths a human bone in her backyard.

It’s a fun read that keeps you on your toes with its twists and turns as we try to work out whose after Twitch aka Holly. Of course nothing is as simple as lying low for Twitch as one thing after another happens but we do meet some fantastic characters and nothing is as it seems! A fantastic fun and captivating cozy mystery .

I found and pre-ordered All Too Familiar: A Collection of Paranormal Cozy Mysteries while looking for a new Jane Hinchey book. I love these anthologies/collections as they are a great way to discover new authors. This book is terrific, and I thoroughly enjoyed all the stories! I liked the stories contains familiars other than cats & crows, but I still love them, too. My cat even enjoys them (he listens in while I read aloud to my blind mother). All the stories were fun and well-written, and I look forward to reading more stories by all these authors in the future. (I really liked the humour of Doris Schutt's character in the first story)

Another great series started from Jane Hinchey. Wow Holly is new in town, has a broken foot, has to clean the house where she will be staying as John's great niece, she watches her rat Flynn bite someone after finding a human hand, watching Flynn get shot at then end up in jail for punching the sheriff and that's only day one and I can't wait for.day two through whenever. I recommend this book to everyone I know because like me you will be hooked. I received an Arc for an unbiased, honest review. I wil say i.recommend this whole book to.read.because their are some awesome authors who.have got together with some awesome books, but I have reviewed for Fur the hex of it by Jane Hinchey.

The start of a new series from Jane Hinchey, Fur the Hex of it, introduces us to a new group of wonderful characters. Holly Day, an agent of the SIA and her rat familiar, Flynn, get involved in solving a murder in the town of Gravestone. Along the way you meet Sheriff Joshua Caulder and Doris Shutt, two characters who play important roles in Holly’s new life.

Follow their adventures in this fun, fast cozy mystery. I have loved each of Jane Hinchey’s books that I have read so far and can’t wait to read the next. This one does not disappoint!

Fur The Hex Of It by Jane Hinchey
First, I really hope this turns into a series. That being said, I loved it. Holly is on a forced vacation for her own safety. However, not even 24 hrs in this small town and she finds herself involved in a murder case. With her new 'friend' by her side, they have a killer to find. I thought the characters were great. A magical mystery, full of suspense and humor. Oh, and don't let me forget her 'pet' rat. Filled with just the right amount of twists, you won't be able to put it down.

This review is for Jane Hinchey’s “Fur the Hex of it”.
Her cover blown in a previous investigation, “Holly Day” has been stashed in the small town of Gravestone to keep her safe. But it’s hard to lie low when your rat familiar brings home human bones. Can Holly solve the case without blowing her cover, again? This is a fun start to a new series. The characters are interesting and I’m eager to learn more about them in the next book. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a voluntary, unbiased review.

This review is for Fur the Hex of It by Jane Hinchey.
Fur the Hex of It was a fun cozy mystery which introduces Holly Day, a witch from Supernatural Investigation Agency (SIA) who is hiding out in a small sleepy town and her colleague-turned-pet-rat Flynn. Not long after their arrival, human bones are found and Holly and her sidekick - Doris, an elderly lady from the town - set out to investigate. Things aren't as they seem and another death seems linked and suspicious. Doris and Holly are fun characters and get up to mischief. We get to meet other residents of the town such as the Mayor, the Sheriff and the carpenter as the investigation continues. An enjoyable, quick read.

This is for Fur the Hex of It, Jane Hinchey's story in this anthology. What would you do if you were moved to a little town in the middle of nowhere with a rat familiar thst used to be you partner. You're supposed to be laying low because a ruthless gang of magical bad guy's is after you. Of course the first person you meet is a suspicious sheriff and then a body shows up in your yard. Then there's the older character who takes you under her wing but wants you to help her solve the murder. Funny scenes, great characters, and a well plotted mystery. I hope this becomes a series.
