When Athena Jackson is confronted by a surprise pregnancy, she must gain courage to face her abusive boyfriend and her brutal reality and stand up for her baby. Fortunately, her former friends Lily and Rowan Marx are there to walk her through this arduous journey. Yet when things take a couple of unexpected turns, neither one of them can be certain of what surprises or nightmares the future has in store for them.

This novel is the third installment of the EverGreen trilogy, and it definitely did not disappoint me. The storyline and plot was immensely intriguing, and to my pleasant surprise, there were many philosophical themes and theories embedded in the story. Like a diamond shining in an abyss, it is dark but hopeful, sentimental but uplifting.

Abby Farnsworth’s books have something in common, apart from the fact that they are all young adult romance novels—while they delve into and discuss the topic of love, none of them glorifies the process of it or downplays the struggles that threaten to thwart the relationship between the characters. This, if possible, makes her stories even more relatable and touching. As the author wrote in her previous novel, “Love was not rainbows and cotton candy.” People so often avoid contemplating topics such as abuse, death, and miscarriage that they neglect their existence and how they can possibly play a crucial role in a relationship. People so often dream of perfect, flawless fairytale romances that they fail to realize those do not exist, and every relationship has its own hurdles to overcome.

However, this is not to say that all romance novels should take on a dark, gloomy tone, either. We are already living in depressing times because of the pandemic, so of course, any negative reading material would certainly be less than welcome. Yet a gritty, down-to-earth book does not have to resemble an endless pit of pessimism. A skillful author like Abby Farnsworth knows how to strike a balance between realistic sorrow and blissful joy. There are, of course, heartbreaking events in Fallen Snow, yet there is just enough positivity to lighten the mood of it. At the end of the day, it is important to find reprieve and redemption in times of trauma, and it is more than gratifying to see the protagonist achieve that in the conclusion.

Ending on a high, hopeful note, the final book of the EverGreen trilogy is a fantastic read. Abby Farnsworth has proven to be a promising talent in the writing field. I look forward to perusing her new tales and reading more of her future works.

Abby Farnsworth's EverGreen trilogy comes to a close with "Fallen Snow," and it is perhaps the most moving and emotionally intense of the three books.

Just like the second book in the series, Moonlit Skies, did, Fallen Snow now focuses on a new set of characters in the fantasy universe of faeries, demi-fae, and watchers. Lily and Rowan Marx, the couple whose demi-fae/faery love story introduced readers to world where supernatural creatures live secretly among humans, are still an important part of this book, Athena Jackson, Lily's friend, is really at the center of the story. But while Athena's life suddenly intersects with the forces of the supernatural and introduces her to the viciousness of the Watchers, the greatest threats to Athena's life come from the very real horrors of the violence human beings are capable of inflicting on those who try to love them.

I don't want to give away important plot points of the story, so I will say that at the core of Fallen Snow is actually a much more frightening and important issue than merely supernatural rivalries and intrigue. The story is a very realistic look at the anatomy of abusive relationships. And much more disturbing than any kind of otherworldly threats is the glimpse inside the psychology of why women might find it so difficult to walk away from people who hurt them. For young adult readers, especially girls who started this series for its sweet, romantic story of teenage first love, this is a very sobering, serious, and important lesson on recognizing the signs of dangerous relationships.

Abby Farnsworth needs to be commended for what she accomplished with this book. Fallen Snow does not merely entertain but it could have the power to literally save the lives of young girls who fall victim to coercive and dangerous partners.

While the Fallen Snow is presented as the conclusion to the EverGreen trilogy, I'm sure many of its readers will be left hoping that one day Farnsworth might revisit Lily, Rowan, Jack, Leanne, Giselle, Athena, and Rhett and all of their friends and family.

Athena Jackson has found herself in a predicament—she is twenty years old, pregnant, and stuck in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Silas. When Silas finds out about the pregnancy, he demands Athena end it and forces her to a woman’s clinic. Before the procedure can be completed, Athena reaches out to an old friend from high school, Lily Rhodes Marx. Lily comes to Athena’s rescue, spiriting her away from the abusive Silas. Lily and her husband Rowen graciously welcome Athena into their home, where she finds out that family isn’t always blood, and that faeries and magic are real.

Fallen Snow, by Abby Farnsworth, is the third book in the EverGreen series. Taking place after the events of Moonlit Skies, Fallen Snow picks up with Athena and her journey to accept her own pregnancy and save herself from Silas. With several twists and turns that will keep readers on edge, Fallen Snow explores relationships, how someone could continue to love their abuser, and how new love can bloom even without the help of faerie magic.

The author has a knack for developing interesting character personalities and giving them believable physical descriptions along with faerie powers. These traits allow each character to shine on their own. There are several twists and turns throughout this alluring young adult romance novel, making this an unpredictable but enjoyable read.

I always enjoy the quick pace of the EverGreen books. I think the story moves a lot quicker here because, this being the third book in the trilogy, the author doesn’t need to spend time developing the character’s background. The characters are already established and their relationships feel genuine and the reader can feel their love for one another. Farnsworth’s writing style has developed and grown just like her characters in the story.

Fallen Snow is a seductive paranormal romance story that fans of emotionally-resonant teen fiction will enjoy. I loved the way fantasy and reality are blended throughout this story and I think readers will too.

Phenomenal

This book is well written and depicted each character with detail. It is such an engaging book that I never wanted to put it down. It is a flawless mixture of realistic issues that young adults deal with in our society. The author dealt with very sensitive real life situations in a very mature way that portrays excellent moral values. Fallen Snow is a sweet romantic novel with lots of twists and turns. If you enjoy romantic novels this is a must read.

Abby has done it again. Another great book, I couldn't put down. In Fallen Snow, we get to really meet a previous character. It hits so close to home, on so many levels. Have the tissues ready, you have been warned. I can see Fallen Snow unfold, in my minds eye, as if I am witnessing everything first hand. I'm sad to see this series come to an end, however I am looking forward to many more great books from this young lady.

This final narrative in the Evergreen trilogy displays Abby Farnsworth’s amazing ability to describe, in thought provoking detail, relationships and the see-saw of emotions that accompany them. Rhett and Athena’s relationship is beautifully tender and a perfect example of what love should look like. Lilly continues to be one of my favorite characters and someone every friend should try and emulate. I could not put this book down! A must read! A truly feel good story!

You know how you usually love the first book more than the rest in a series? Not this time. Fallen Snow gripped me from the beginning.

This was so beautifully written. Paragraphs and pages that can rip your heart out all while piecing it back together at the same time.

Even with the fantasy, faerie aspect, I found this book so relatable, comforting and as pure as fallen snow

I can't wait to read what else Abby has in store for her other books and/or series.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved it. Fallen Snow did not go how I had expected that it would, and I love that when reading. I love the way that Abby writes her books. I can't say much about this book without giving away things. But if you read EverGreen and Moonlit Skies and liked them, then you have to read Fallen Snow. I look forward to reading more of Abby's books.
