Won I’m a loner. My only friend and brother is Remo. I’d take a bullet for him. I hate guns and never thought I’d be toting a gun while involving Marino family. But the connection I share with Remo is thicker than blood and I would do anything to protect him. I was of the opinion that he was the only one I’d die for, until Chloe entered my life. I would not only die for her, I’d destroy New York and all fifty states to find those that have hurt her. Chloe When I met Won, I thought I’d met one of those K-drama idols. I thought that he was the tall, handsome, sweet, and caring Korean that would sweep me off my feet. Never did I imagine a fierce protector that would destroy everything in his path to keep me safe. Not only is he a formidable fighter, he’s also a savage lover.
Carolee is a passionate writer whose life revolves around creating a world she can revert to when life gets in the way.
She always knew she would be a writer. Her teachers and the school librarian noticed her knack for story telling from an early age. With their encouragement, she continued to allow her imagination to come to life.
She spent most of her adult life dreaming of writing her own novels while working a 9 to 5 job. With determination, she quit her job and now concentrates on writing full time.
Writing is her passion and without it she feels incomplete. Carolee writes from her heart, from her soul.
In addition to writing, there are absolutely four things she cannot live without; chocolate, good ice-cream, cheesecake, and coffee.
This was pretty good! I am a K-drama fan (movies and soap opera shows) and I love the way that Won treats Chloe. He is a great guy! So far, the series is good.
Liked it way better than Bk 1! Cant wait for 3 now!
Happy I gave this author another chance. I wasnt happy with Remo and Imani's story but I wanted to try Won and Chloe. Not perfect but pretty good! Won is kind of hilarious and Im in love. He's a little weird, Id never use melted chocolate INSIDE body orifices but hey thats just me. The music thing was cool but the authors insistence on getting BTS music in the story kind of didnt fit. I LOVE BTS but I wouldnt have sex to a lot of their songs and definitely not the one(s) the author chose. Also - is it BTS because Won is Korean? Kinda weird off. Anyway - glad I read it. Was a nice follow up from Bk 1 and I love how Brody was introduced. I hope there is more character development in Bk 3 though because there wasnt a lot in 1 and 2 for any character. Also - the story was nice but goes a bit fast and abrupt. That ending was rough. More of a bad ending than a cliffhanger but there you have it. My biggest issue though - continuity. READ YOUR WORK AGAIN AUTHOR! How do you mess up your own characters? How does Remo's dad go from Alonzo in Bk 1 to Francesco in Bk 2? And how is Rubio's son's name Alviz all of a sudden when in Bk 1 his 2 sons names were either Raymundo or Fabricio? Those changes made following who was who a big confusing but I figured it out. Easy enough later on but really annoying when author's don't care enough about their work to remember the characters they use but still want me to pay full-price for their books... I'm interested in Brody and Jewel (my favorite character - she is a riot!) But im hoping the continuity will be better and the characters all get fleshed out.
Ahh man it ended so soon I wanted more of Won and Chloe. I felt like Won was more the quiet type a bit aloof but boy was I wrong, he is most definitely sure of himself and, he knows how to charm a woman🥵. For him Chloe was everything he’d wanted and would do anything to keep her safe and his. Chloe remembered Won from when he helped her friend and was instantly attracted to him😍. She sure didn’t expect him to be such a charmer and he had a sense of humor to match with his alpha male personality.
I so loved how Won expressed his attraction and desires for Chloe, especially sharing his love of music and how it evoked certain feelings and wants for him☺️. His attentiveness, wanting to share time supporting Chloe in her business showed how much he cared for her much more than in words. Chole knew he was a bad boy but the heart and body want’s what it wants and Won was it for her😉. I’m glad that she had the personality and strength to match Won. Her wanting to seduce him was sweet especially knowing how it affected Won. Their chemistry was everything🔥😈🔥.
Brody, the new help at the junk yard is a mystery but I’m glad he is helping Won and Remo fight their enemies👍🏽. I’m looking forward to reading about his story in the next book.
I enjoyed reading this book with some Korean food ttukbaegi-gyeranjjim. Loved these 2 couples and happy they are together💗.
1.0⭐️ Insomuch as Book 1 is a thrilling, compelling, action-packed read, I anticipated that same level of intensity and solid storytelling in Book 2. On the contrary, this book lacked ALL of those attributes I found intriguing in the previous book. Bk 2 has no depth or substance, and there is nothing at all engrossing about it. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen but the story just falls flat and thus, fails miserably.
Further, the great mystery and suspense surrounding the death of Won’s father is apparently resolved, however, I have no clue how that happened. In my estimation, questions still remain because the latter part of the story is a jumbled, convoluted mess and makes little sense. More importantly, there is much too much talking and no action. It seems that more focus is placed on sex and dirty sex talk than on any actual plot.
In all, this book is an extremely pedestrian offering, coupled with excessive and egregious editing and proofreading issues. While I have some curiosity about the mysterious Brody featured in Book 3, I doubt that I’ll read it. Frankly, I’m not in the mood for another uninspired, and unexciting fuckfest driven story.
Oh my goodness this book was H.O.T!!! I swear each book just gets better and better! I knew Won and Chloe's story was gonna lit because of the fire and chemistry they had in Remo and Imani's story. There was so much action, drama, intrigue, suspense, steamy sex that had me reading this book all night long until I had to charge my devices. This author is amazing! I cannot say enough of how much I loved reading this series. They are definitely a must read! I cannot WAIT to read Brody and Jewel's story.
I support and applaud anyone who puts to paper. It's hard work. But this needs work. From grammar to spelling to sentence structure. Glaring error rare vs rear. One refers to cooking, the other to part. Not trying to put the author down but some editing would help. I'll read another book by the author to see if there's growth. But this is definitely not in my read again pile
I really like this author's writing. Its a continued story but it has a happily ever after. There were sight twists in the book. The bad guy came out of nowhere but he was from the past and sought revenge, so that allowed the bad guy to just pop into the storyline. Yep I enjoyed this read.
I’m with Don, I think that was too easy doing away with Valachi. Let’s see how this all plays all, I’m trying to figure how Sergio always seems to have all the information. I’m happy Chloe let her guard down and enjoys all the love Won has to give her. Can’t wait for Brody’s story!
Won is definitely a sleeper. Outside of what he does for & with Remo, the things he gets up to with Chloe? Whew chile! Won definitely keeps his skills on the low until he pulls out all the tricks. Really enjoyed book 2 & can't wait for the next installment.
I am loving this Thicker than Blood 📚series by CD Samuda👐! Exciting mafia action in this revenge & retribution suspense second book ! Won & Chloe are well matched & I particularly appreciate how reggae songs by Jamaican superstars were woven in the romance 😀 On to 📕 3💃
The story created a lot of anticipation as to what would happen next. There was a build up of mystery and action that did not materialize. The ending was even weird. I liked Remo's story much better. This book was a bit of a let down.
I enjoyed this series so far but this one did not move me emotionally like the first book. Even the sex scenes were a little blah. Maybe it was because there needs to be more back story on Won like there was with Remo. Nevertheless, it was a good story.
Short and sweet. Great st Tammanyory, like the first one. Very captivating. However, I did figure out the there was a multi killer. Feels like I have read this story before. Most stories feel that way.
It just seemed to come out of nowhere. Quick fast and over. I was like.....wait!!!! I'm not sure about reading book three. They don't seem to be going anywhere
A good read. I enjoyed the characters and discovering Wons back story. Intrigued to discover Brodies story. Interesting read I look forward to the next instalment.
Loved how Won was so laid back and a little mysterious. At first I thought he was quite, but the ruthless side came out when they went after his woman. He wasn’t taking any prisoners. Can’t wait to read about Brody
Entertaining! But, I should have read the 1st book in this series since characters from that one was featured in this story. I felt like the narrative would have made this one resonate a bit more.
