I found this book easy to read and the plot simple yet enjoyable. There was quite a lot of spelling and grammatical mistakes but they were never so bad that I didn’t understand the book. I liked the satisfying ending, although I was confused by who was supposed to be the main protagonist and was sad to not hear what happened to Donna or the other girls in the second half of the book. I loved the fact it was set in the North East and that you could really almost hear the accents. I recommend not reading the blurb and just diving right in as the blurb basically tells the entire story! The book did suck me in and I read it in very few sittings, which is always a sign I enjoyed a book!

I wanted this to be excellent. Not because I’d paid £8, but because the author is local.

There’s an acknowledgment before the story to ‘Freda’ for trawling through rough copies. I’m not sure what this involved because page 13 includes a there/their error. This caused me to read the book with a pencil to correct the errors as I read.

Page 256 has another ‘there’ error and a ‘your/you’re’ one (both on the same page!).

There are too many commas missing and regular nouns starting with capital letters.

I’d recommend the author proofreads her work and also gets feedback from an editor.
