Levi’s deal with God doesn’t include falling in love. Levi has devoted his life to preaching God’s Word. In exchange, he expects God to bring his outlaw brother back into the fold. It sounded easy enough when he made the vow but living it out is proving more difficult than he imagined… especially when he encounters the britches-wearing, horse-riding Glory—the most unusual woman he’s ever met. Middle sister Glory believes there isn’t a man alive who can be trusted. And that includes the man who claims to be a preacher but looks more like an outlaw. He confuses her, and it isn’t long before her heart is involved. Is Glory just a test for Levi’s faith? Or is he the one man she can trust? Sisters stick together. Read all three books in the Bonner’s Ferry Glory Mandy Joanna
Linda Ford grew up devouring books and making up stories in her head—often late at night when she couldn't sleep. But she hadn't planned to write. Instead, she dreamed of running an orphanage. In a way, that dream came true. She married, had four homemade children, adopted ten and lived (at times, endured) the dream.
Writing first took her to non-fiction human-interest articles for newspapers and eventually a non-fiction book about tuberculosis set in the 1930s and 1940s (Touched By The White Plague). But romance had always been her first love and she turned to writing love stories. She is multi-published in the CBA market.
She lives on a small ranch in Alberta, Canada, where she can see the mountains every day. She and her husband continue to enjoy their children and grandchildren.
The author has penned a sweet and heartwarming story with humor, as well as human frailties of both the hero and heroine. This is Levi and Glory's story, and the character development is outstanding. Levi is a pastor, but Glory has doubts as his personal appearance resembles an outlaw. Glory is a britches wearing, horse riding gal, which is a bit out of the ordinary. Both of them have trust issues and yet God works in the lives of both of them, and changes begin to take place in each of their lives and love begins to grow. Will Glory and Levi reach a place in their lives and in their relationship in order to have a HEA? Be sure to read this great story to find out. I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Levi and Glory seem to be made for each other. But it took the whole book for them to realize this. Glory wants a certain parcel of unoccupied land and started improving it so she could file a claim on the land. (Things were done differently in the old West.) Levi went out to that parcel with his mind on the improvements he wanted to make, but found Glory on his land. How will they work this out? Read this book to learn how they settled things.
There are three books in this series, and the books are named after three sisters. I enjoyed the entire series even though I read them out of order. I hope you enjoy this book (and the series) as much as I did.
Glory and Levi needed to learn what true trust was, including trusting God and His love for them.
This was a good story, although I really wish there would have been an epilogue with details of what occurred at the end of the book (trying to word this without giving a spoiler!) After all that drama, it would have been nice if the long awaited plans they had would have been told.
A new preacher rides into town wearing a really nice rawhide vest. A little too showy for a preacher, don’t you think? thought Glory. She didn’t trust anyone…especially men. Can you fix things in your life that have been there for a long time? How do you learn to trust again? This is going to be another great series by a great author.
Yes, trust is such a deep issue, especially for those who have been hurt, abused, neglected, and lied to. Yes, it is also a must for a true, intimate and satisfying relationship. I love the spunk and unique character of Glory. Levi is a good example of caring, whilst having his own unique way as well. A good read. I like how loose ends are resolved too.
This is a sweet love story between Levi, a determined preacher and Glory, an Hobert young lady that trusted no one. Well she did trust her two sisters, but their father was another story. Levi and Glory must over all sorts of problem and trust was probably the biggest. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.
I really enjoyed this book! There were enough twists & turns to keep me guessing, they got their happy ever after, & the spiritual aspects of this book were applicable to my own life rather than just a few token lines. I also really enjoyed the characters & how they developed. Can't wait to read the next two books in TBE series!
This book was unique is such a sweet way into a man of Gods heart. His vows and love of God and family gave him much stress, esp when he realized he loved a woman. A good Christian book. Although it still amazes me that throughout time people do fall “in love” quickly.
We’re left by a father who had gold fever. The girls had a home they used for supper and a place to sleep at night. Then they met this preacher whom came to town and this wondrous story begin. Read read read and enjoy.
I enjoyed this story. Sometimes we want something so much we want to strike a bargain with God. We’ll do this if God will give us what we want. But that’s not how it works. We serve God and if it be his will he blesses us with our desires.
A wonderful study about trust. Scriptures that build a desire to trust! A very thought provoking lesson for all who struggle with the trials that sometimes rock our faith.
Glory and the Rawhide Preacher by Linda Ford is a small book that packs a lot into the pages. Levi made a deal with God and then moved to Bonners Ferry where they had no church and no minister. Levi thought he could help the people here and himself so he began a ministry. He helped those that needed help both physically and spiritually in giving them food for thought through the scriptures. Three young women did their work to earn a living in the "Stopping Place" where you could get a good home cooked meal and a small space on the floor for the night. Glory and her sisters JoAnna and Mandy had followed their father many places but decided to stop in Bonners Ferry and make a living here. They hoped one day their father would return and they could be a family again. Glory did not trust men and that included one who "claimed" to be a preacher. When Levi found a young boy and his sister by the wayside waiting for thier father to return, he had to convince them to come with him where they would have shelter and food and he would try to find thier papa. Levi finds Glory stays in his mind too often and she finds her thoughts are often on the preacher man. Linda has her hands full getting these two together. I enjoyed reading this story, come and read it too.
This was a great story with a timeless message! Trust God! But oh, this preacher frustrated me! Why couldn't he see his error? I know we're often blind to our own faults and I have to remember this is fiction, but I'd definitely have a few words with this man, if he was real!
I enjoyed this book it is a quick easy read. However i was drawn into the story from page one.Had some funny moments, but for the most part it was about learning to trust.Nice ending.
