My mates think I can extinguish their demons, but I know better. I'm gasoline and wind, fanning the flames higher.

I'm finally starting to believe that I've found the place I belong, that maybe life holds more than loneliness and pain. Naturally, that's when my mother's past catches up to me.

When the mates she ran from send three foreign alphas to our door to drag me back "home," my dream of a happy life surrounded by my men begins to crack into jagged little pieces. These new alphas claim to want what's best for me. But while Emmy's suitors came bearing gifts of luxury, mine only bring one painful revelation after another, threatening my already tenuous grasp on sanity.

Secrets spread like poison, rising from the shadows to infect everything they touch.

And all the while, wolves are closing in around us, attempting to snuff us out once and for all. But I'm tired of being hunted, sick of paying the price for simply existing. I may not be the Slaughters' daughter in blood, but I'll choose to be in name. After all, it isn't the creature in our chests that makes us less than human; it's us.

We're monsters whether or not we ever set ours free.

**This is a darker themed paranormal romance where the heroine gets all of her men, and contains graphic details, so please read the note in the beginning of the book before choosing to read. This is the second of a four book series that follows the same characters, and as such, will end with a cliffhanger, but the next book is my primary project until the series is completed.**

Didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the previous book. I really enjoyed her voice in book one. It felt like we were trying to build the voices of all the new characters in this one and it led to a lot of monologues 😂 Because her changes, her voice is more…sterile. Just didn’t feel quite as balanced as book one.

I don't really have much to say here. It was 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 better than the first book and I loved the additional characters and pack members. Kind of confused as to why we didn't get any scenes with Emmy training her in the beginning, you know as 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐞-𝐖𝐨𝐥𝐟 she should have been the one to help Sabrina through her new reality. Just a thought. But i 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 did love the second half of the book and the dynamic between the characters was just amazing. I was better entertained despite her vulcan ways.

Otherwise yeah it was a nice sequel, not overly complicated nor too simple of a story. It had the right amount of plot, lore, character developments, action and smut. It didn't 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐤 my world but it didn't 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐞 me either. Even tho i would have preferred this to be a duology since i chose this because i wanted a light easy read not a 3/4 book series. I'll still take the win. So until then i'll be 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐎𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 and wait for the third.

I disliked this book a lot more than the first.
A lot more characters were introduced so some characters felt lost in the shuffle. Older characters lost a lot of feeling..including the fmc. The fmc who went from knowing nothing to knowing everything. She had a pretty big personality change. Its written off as plot but its annoying to read.
The plot itself became kind of typical. The last book was a bit interesting. This book kind of follows the whole 'first female alpha she's so powerful' storyline that floats about. 'These aren't wolves they are... hell hounds because she is so powerful'. Cue giant eye roll.
At this point I didn't care for the fmc anymore. She is so strong. Ooooo. And then the personality shift and how she seems to know what to do all the time. Just...boring. other readers love that sorta thing. Its just boring to read to me.
And the guys? We introduce some more so others get pushed aside almost and others lose their feeling and become almost clinical. The balance seems off.

So, these books started with a shy bookworm of a girl, who was a survivor and loner. I had a problem with how seemingly she flipped her entire life upside-down after meeting a group of men and on the third night knowing them hooking up with two.

This book.... she is somehow now like a strategic assassin killing machine, with no remorse... no feelings about it at all. The author keeps talking about events or facts that happened, but they didn't on paper... yet somehow the entire group knows about it. The female, Sabrina, who just learned she's a wolf, is basically leading the charge on eliminating enemy packs... though she knows fucking nothing about them or pack structure or the ramifications.

Not just that, but the steam.... was awkward and abrupt. There's never any lead up to it, all of a sudden she's just fucking multiple guys. Like.. what? It didn't even feel intimate, it just felt like they were all using each other's bodies... which is fine, but not how it's written at all. The guys act Iike they worship her for it, which is also beyond weird. They all barely know each other. It's all just really odd.

This whole book was a mess, written poorly, it was a scattered, unorganized plotline that didn't make any sense, Reid... who was my favorite character... acted like a paranoid asshole through the entire book.... it was just bad. Really, really bad. Like, that your beta readers didn't ask a million questions about why you were doing what you were doing with the plotline is baffling.

Wow what an action packed book this is. We pick up from the ending of book 1 with Sabrina and her guys Cinjin, Boden, Slade and Reid. When we meet Kaige, Damian and Hunter things start to get more twisty.
We also get many many steamy scenes in this book as we are taken on an amazing ride. Right upto that crazy cliffhanger ending. Boy I did not see that coming. Roll on book 3.

Pack Poisoned, the second book in the Thrown to the Wolves series by J. Kearston, was an utter emotional rollercoaster twist filled ride!!! Does Kearston know how to throw us for a loop or what?!?!

This book picks up right where the first book left us with Sabrina and her men in the middle of a big revelation from an outside pack and everyone trying to regain control. When one of the outsiders attempts to help her heal her injury from the last fight, revelations are made that alters their future and starts them all on a new unchartered path. What evolves next is a whirlwind of more revelations and changes and of course some super steamy connections!

We now know what was causing Sabrina’s “blockage” and what her mom was keeping hidden all this time, but with those secrets being revealed were now in the middle of yet another battle. Can Sabrina learn to control her inner beast…or will she just get lost in the process? As always, pack politics come into play, causing sides to be picked, trusts broken and wars raged and this time it may be impossible for everyone to survive….

Kearston did an amazing job at crafting such a well thought out story, I loved how the plot flowed effortlessly with so many twists and turns. The characters were very well developed and I loved watching them evolve throughout the story and how their group dynamics slowly changed as well to accommodate all the new “changes”.

Overall this is a must read for anyone that read the first book or that loves a unique take on shifters and their pack dynamics. This book had so much suspenseful intrigue, endless action, unforeseen betrayals and enough hot burning chemistry and unchecked emotions I just couldn’t put it down! I absolutely loved watching the relationships develop between Sabrina and her men (old and new alike) as they learned to navigate this new world together and overcome all the obstacles in their way. And that ending?!?! Be warned this one does end on an epic cliffhanger so be prepared to scream at the ending. Needles to say, I need the next book to come asap!

I have to agree with many of the reviews and say this is closer to a 2.5 for me. Of course the second I say that the harem has a manageable amount of men we add 3 more?

I hate when authors go over 4 main male characters and attempt to do dual pov. You always lose people and you lose connection. This book we barely get personality from any of the characters and it's frustrating. The addition of the three new characters moves the plot forward but stalls the romance and the real conversations. This becomes such a mess by the end.

There are characters in this book we barely even get a glimpse into and it made me like it less than the first book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

It’s not bad but

It’s not bad but I feel like I’m missing some nuance. Some of the things that happen aren’t well explained leaving me confused how we ended up here or arriving at this conclusion. Nonverbal type cues are unexplained as well between the characters, they just know what the other means by the look but not interpreted for us. I’m still not clear on exactly what the issues are that are going on in this pack. I don’t understand why they are after the Hawthornes, I don’t understand what would make the new guys who show up in this book pack be different from the packs around here. I also suspect that her mom has some really messed up reasons for doing things and will pop up as part of the big unforeseen bad we’ve yet to meet.

I did get a little bored with the book. It took us a while to get here and I just don’t know how I feel about continuing. Only bc I just need some more nuance.

I couldn't wait for this book!

I wasn't ready for the heat level in this book, and let me tell you, I loved it. It starts right where book one has ended, and Sabrina continues her journey with her and her mates. Her wolf makes an appearance finally, and she needs to develop the relationship with her mates, but them some new guys appear and Sabrina and her guys need to adapt to all of the changes. It ends with a mean cliffhanger and now I can't wait for the next book to be released.

This was a great follow up to book 1 and it really took me on a fab reading ride. There is a lot going on in this installment and it has me panting for the next one ;D Expect a fair bit of angst, a ton of twists, new powers, relationship issues, lots of steam and just so much more. Once you open this one up, you'll be madly flipping pages with how much the plot takes you away - until you hit that shocking cliffy ;P Well done!

Absolutely loved it!!!
This is a book that has it all!!!
Suspense, fun , angst , love...
The book grabbed me from page 1 and i absolutely enjoyed it.
The story line is intriguing and has lots of twists and turns in it and the characters are so well developed and have so much depth and they evolve throughout the story.
This is the 3rd book i have read by this author and i have to say that i am falling in love with her writing style.

I really enjoyed this book. The world billing is extremely unique. Normally witches and walls are not my cup of tea., However, this book out at all. I love the blend of romance and a hero and hook is really good at her craft with magic. The main hero is super fun and he is a big fat teddy bear under all that muscle. I love heroes where they are broody but really kind underneath. I love this book a lot. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Highly recommend.

Pack Poisoned starts off where book one ended and there's a lot of action going on. Sabrina is having to deal with so much in this book including her wolf awakening and the bonds between her and her mates. Lots of twists and turns along the way and then there's that cliffhanger ending. We get to meet some new characters with Damien, Hunter, and Kaige and get to find out how exactly they fit into the pack dynamic.

Can't wait to see where this story goes in book three.

Holy smokes! What a thrilling story…dayum, bit I kind of hated the cliffhanger of the ending.
So, wow. Right. Sooo many things happened in this book. It picked right off where book 1 ended. Many unexpected twists and turns (that ending tho!!) filled with great moments of happiness scattered in between. I can’t wait to find out what happens next!!

The perfect sequel. Book 2 picked up immediately after book 1. New characters were added. I am glad that the female main character didn't automatically get mates and have the instant perfect relationships. There was plenty of angst. Sabrina's character shows that strength is shown many ways. Can't wait to the next book in the series.

A bit confusing

I put 3⭐ because I'm not sure I really got all the subtleties and complications of the plot🧐 English isn't my mother tongue but as I read books in English for more than 10 years, I like to think that I understand what I read. And here? I'm not sure if it's me or the story😅🤔

After being attacked and three guys having showed up saying they were here for Sabrina, things became pretty complicated for she and the guys. During the first shift of some of the guys, they discovered that they aren't like every other wolves shifters...Because of Sabrina? Not very clear here🧐

I don't really understand the POV of the guys. For example, Cin (and he wasn't the only one) said that Sabrina will destroy them so that he has to destroy her or let her destroy him...🧐 Hum...and you're in a relationship with her? 🤔 I didn't get the reason for this and it made me upset for Sabrina, what kind of people think that when you're in a relationship?

Sabrina said many times that the guys feared her. She said something beautiful but heartbreaking💔 explaining that you can't love (fully) somebody when you feared them. And it's totally what seems to be happening here😢
I don't understand why the guys feared Sabrina, why they are so sure she will destroy them, etc.

Then, the split personalty isn't really introduced and it made difficult to understand what was happening... Not easily readable this passage😕

Finally you have the three new "additions" who seem to be involved in Sabrina's past (it will break her heart when she knows how) and claim needed her to "restore" their packs and the balance male/female (🧐 sounds awfully saying like this) but still seemed to plot against the other guys but Sabrina's fathery as well😵‍💫🤯 Too complicated here!!!

Maybe all these mysteries, beginnings of explanations which don't make sense, and this overload of twists and turns are just a preparation for the next books? 🤔

Couldn't get through it

I couldn't get into this one. In all honesty, it was boring as all Heck. I found myself skimming through at just 30%. I liked our strong H in the first book, but this second time I found her a bit annoying. I could not take her mental shut downs, or her need for strength and folding into herself. She had such a strong front that seems to have crumbled? I wanted her to continue being strong while trying to figure out life's crap. I myself can not handle an H falling apart every few pages or every indecent.

I liked book 1, but the pacing of book 2 is so slow. There is so much repetition and so much internal monologuing from the various characters' POV that it bogs down the story. I'm halfway through and Slade is blathering on in his head about how he has failed her. He has already repeated this sentiment multiple times in this chapter, in between dialogue with various people and other things happening. I'm so over it.

I still don't know how Sabrina feels about Slade, and they haven't really had any time together (just the two of them). They both seem to think the relationship is established, but I don't feel like they have a bond at all. Reid is pulling away due to some fear that I don't quite get -- he doesn't think he will be able to control his wolf? He thinks he's going to become a monster? But why? What's driving his fear? No idea.

Sabrina knows about Cinjin's past and his insecurities, yet for all her compassion and understanding for Reid (Cinjin's twin), she doesn't appear to have any for Cinjin. Has she reassured him? Comforted him? Nope and nope. She singles him out as the one she doesn't want to help--yet--because she says he wants it for the wrong reasons, or that there's something not right with the wolf inside him. Isn't that just going to make him feel more rejected? No one seems to have thought about that.

Then there are the three new wolves from her father's pack. She has claimed Damian accidentally, but again, like with Slade, hasn't spent any time with him. After the claiming, you'd think that she'd want to speak with him and make sure he was okay with it and at least apologise for the accident. After all, she's a straight shooter (or was, in book 1). But no, they barely say two words to each other.

Also, what does this claiming actually do, apart from freeing the wolves inside the men? Do the men not get to claim Sabrina in return? Because so far she has bitten the ones she has claimed, but they haven't bitten her. Does it help them to sense each other's emotions or read each other's thoughts, like in other shifter books? The author doesn't explain, and in this aspect the world-building is absolutely abysmal. We know the wolves have enhanced hearing and accelerated healing, but nothing is said about sense of smell, nor physical strength.

Sabrina herself is morphing from the strong, interesting woman she was in book 1 to... something less. Again with the internal monologuing--the author has a real issue with using internal monologue to tell the reader things that she thinks we need to know, sort of like info-dumping; but also, so much introspection that it just gets old and slows down the story.

I get that Sabrina has had a lot of revelations to deal with in a short span of time, and a lot of shocks to come to terms with. And I like that she recognises the guys' protectiveness and isn't chafing against it nor acting out against it. She isn't TSTL. But there's something in the way she's written in Book 2 that feels like she has lost the spark that made her special in book 1. She gives off almost a helpless air; it's her inner wolf that takes charge and tells her what to do. And no one seems to realise that she needs help to deal with her wolf until she mentions it? Even though Slade worried that she wouldn't be able to control her wolf?

I'm so close to DNFing this book... can't imagine plodding through two more to complete the series. The characterisations are poor. How can you have a bunch of males who are incredibly protective, then one of them has sex with her against a tree when the tree bark is tearing up her back, and he doesn't scent the blood or doesn't care that he's hurting her (even though she's consenting and fully participating in the act)? Even after they've finished, he doesn't seem to realise, nor is he horrified at himself or remorseful or (belatedly) solicitous of her well-being. Like, seriously!

There are no words for how much I loved this book. Pack Poisoned is the second book in the Thrown to the Wolves series and has most certainly surpassed the first. Don't get me wrong I loved the first book but this book had all the things. There was relationship drama, surprise revelations, shocking betrayal, power plays, drug deals, torture, unique supernaturals, attacks, crazy plots to put into the works, emotional drama, blackmail, new powers, and a whole lot more. The crazy thing is I can't say which things were done to the pack and which of the things the pack did because it's an all-out war.

Sabrina has adapted to this life really well, she's basically a genius, with an analytical mind at times, and with her mother putting her in different predicaments when she was younger she most definitely learned to roll with the punches now with a new development that occurs in this book, Sabrina now has a cold side, she can look at things and make the hard choices. That's not saying that things aren't hard on her or that she's actually coping in a healthy way but she is willing to process things instead of running away, she's making decisions based on the information she has and not jerk reactions. Sabrina has gone totally boss lady taking charge in this one and I love it.

The relationships between Sabrina and the guys have reached a whole new level. The twins have their own issues which in turn is affecting each of their relationship with Sabrina but things have never been clearer or better between Bo and Sabrina and Slade and Sabrina. All of them support her, are willing to follow her lead most of the time, they take care of her, cherish her, and are pretty much obsessed with her and I love it. Cin's issues don't really come to anything but turns out Cin is a psycho and I'm here for it. I love all the Hawthornes (although one is pushing me to my limits) but Cin is my favorite, the jokes, the banter, he brings a levity even if he doesn't feel that peace himself and he's deeper than I expected. As for the three new guys who showed up, they all have big parts in this story and a couple of them even have a chapter or two. Some real feelings are there between Sabrina and they bring with them a whole other point of view about wolf shifters in general and what's been happening to the Hawthornes with their neighboring packs. However, they come with a lot of baggage and things aren't at all settled with them.

What an excellent plot, the drama and feelings, and revelations were everything. Looks like the sins of their parents' past have come back to bite everyone. From Sabrina's runaway mother to the Hawthornes' twisted parents, all their actions have come back to backfire on their children, with Sabrina it's an unknown pack wanting to claim her and the guys' parents committing so many crimes publicly that the other packs really refuse to help out or hold up to their alliances because of them is causing a lot of problems. More of Sabrina's mother's past is revealed and things are very much connected but I don't know-how. Then there are the new changes Sabrina and her guys go through which calls into question everything and have me asking a few of my own.

Pack Poisoned was a fabulous read, I don't if I devoured it or it devoured me. A lot is going on in this book, first, there is this mysterious pack on the other side of the country who want Sabrina, second, there are packs that are causing a whole lot of trouble, a few surprises of the supernatural variety, secrets festering, a betrayal that no one could have seen coming, an all-out war with a body count that is quite surprising for people who live near a city, and finally a cliffhanger that had me gasping and questioning wtf happened. It's gonna be so hard waiting for the next book but if it's half as good as this then it's gonna be worth it.

Enfim, até eu me repeti.
Um verdadeiro saco, uma perda total e absoluta de tempo e parei por aqui porque não vou continuar mesmo essa série só pela curiosidade.
Não vale a pena de jeito nenhum.
É um grande tchau e tô riscando a autora da minha lista.

This was a bit of a slower pace tha. The first book, and I felt that there were places where it was disconnected, such as the Jenna thing, we didn't see that at all they just mentioned it after the fact as if you should have known what had happened, almost like she wrote the scene and then decided to delete it but forgot to update that later part.

I also felt like Sabrina was disconnected for pretty much the whole book. I get the identity crisis to an extent and how the wolf was becoming a more prominent part of her personality but she felt like a completely different character than in the first book. And by half way through it felt like the guys were having more chapters than her which also helped with the disconnect. I hate the Reid storyline and it feels kinda cheap, like she's having such a good go if it with the rest let's throw in some unnecessary relationship angst to keep things a bit more interesting. But in the whole we barely even saw any if the relationships in this book, most of the time they were just running around, and even though there were a small handful of spicy scenes (which isn't a bad thing for me, I prefer less spice and more story), we didn't really see much of her relationships grow with any of the guys, she barely had any one on one time with any if them except Kaige which didn't end up being in a romantic capacity.

It felt like everything was mainly done off page and we only saw bits and pieces of the end results, except for the Carter torture scene where the Bo, Cin and Kaige got some bonding time in. But everything else the whole book felt really hectic like there was always stuff going on but also not at the same time. We saw them discussing how busy they were and that they had all of these plans and small snippets of the plans but things never really happened in page, which made for a confusing read (see Jenna issue above, I was SO confused about who they were talking about and what happened until it was explained a bit further down).

We also barely saw Emmy at ALL, she has ONE scene at almost the end of the book, and it was all about Sabrina and her guys, we barely know anything about Emmy's guys except she likes them. Considering the entire premise of the first book was about Sabrina finding her family via her relationship with Emmy and all the drama around Emmy finding her mates which was the catalyst for literally EVERY else that has happened, it yet again felt disconnected that Emmy basically just disappeared into her bedroom with her six mates for the whole book and was barley even mentioned.

The book only really got exciting, had any interesting action take place in the last handful of chapters, which again we were just launched into with no preamble, and left on a cliffhanger.

We also found out that Damien and Hunter killed Sabrina's father and not only does Reid know but he hid the evidence and Sabrina doesn't know anything about it. So now TWO of her rice mates are responsible for her dad's death and she has no clue and the one guy she opened up to the most initially is hiding this from her alongside breaking her heart and trust. I get the feeling book 3 is gonna have a lot of emotional trauma.

I’m struggling to finish this book. I’ll probably skim the next two, just to see what happens.

The Plot: just doesn’t make sense

* so many holes
* there’s dropped information that comes out of the blue and doesn’t connect to anywhere previously in the book
* why does the entire pack have to go to her fathers again?
* why would Reid keep the information about her fathers murder from his brothers?
* why wouldn’t Slate consult his brothers on dissolving the pack? And why would they use anyone they already knew for secret identities. Surely there were other options. Such a huge plot hole.
* Emmy gets six mates but we don’t see them for 2 weeks? So what they don’t eat meals together or use the kitchen? Lizzie just hangs with her guys out back? They don’t act like a pack at all.
* Reid, who was the most forward, suddenly has a change of heart?
* The pack is supposedly dying, but they seem to be the one with the most females so why so glum.
* Sabrina decides to do Cins first shift in the middle of a battle? When she had to coach the others through it? Then he gets mad bc Sabrina is hurt so tosses her into a burning collapsing house? Where she finds….
* Hunter trapped and instead of shifting back or using his clothes to drag him, of course she bites his shoulder to drag him so he’s accidentally claimed. How does that even make sense.

Characters: split personalities

* We never can tell when the wolf is talking vs the human
* When did they all start inner monologues about how awful their mate is?
* Reid has become paranoid
* Sabrina just starts killing people for no good reason. Like Aaron, there was absolutely no reason to kill him just to show power. Gratuitous killing is always a turn off.
* if less time was spent on inner monologues about therapy and lectures about basic decency 🙄, maybe we’d get some actual relationship development or even smut. Emmy is having more sex than Sabrina at this point and she’s not even in the main story anymore. So much for best buds.

So, it’s just more annoying than enjoyable at this point.

DNF @ 82%.

this series started out incredibly strong. but the plot became SO convoluted in this second book. now there's drug dealing involved? and the h's fathers who aren't actually her fathers (or are they??)? there are so many characters, and plots, and schemes, and secrets, i can't keep up with it all.

and i kinda hate how similar the Hs are. like, when a new H appears he's super intriguing and mysterious and dangerous-seeming. and then he becomes the heroine's mate and suddenly he's exactly like all the other Hs. zero discernable personality traits.

and there's so much drama that the h doesn't even really get much quality time with the heroes.
i literally don't get why she still has a super time-consuming job when they're all just trying to survive pack politics. and her job is in videogame development, of all things. like, no one is gonna die if she says she doesn't want to work for a few months while they take care of everything else in their lives. she's literally burning out bc she spends so much time developing a game for a cooperation........ im... ??? i do not understand why the fuck that's a priority for her right now.

also, there's so so much contemplation. they all think, all the time. everything is reflected on, over and over again. and they're so fucking dramatic about it all, and pessimistic.
one minute they're all like "[heroine] is gonna be our end; she'll ruin us all" and the next they're like "we're a plague to [heroine], a curse, and we're ruining her". like ???
they're so fucking whiny. and they keep saying how she's the best thing to ever happen to them, but also how she's a huge fucking problem or smth??? idk, i swear i don't understand half of what they're talking about. im so tired, and definitely not continuing this series, because it's exhausting.

Pack Poisoned is book two in J. Kearston’s Thrown to the Wolves series and trust me when I say...this book is one wild roller coaster ride. Book two picks up exactly where book one left off and it’s “hold on tight and brace!”
Pack politics are at play. Emmy has chosen the men that she wants, but it seems that there are three new players in town. Who are these guys? They say that they are there for Sabrina?! Well, turns out that they were sent. Don’t worry. No spoilers. You’ll have to read to find out what’s going on. But Sabrina is really going to have her hands full with everything that’s going to be going on. The truth is coming out, relationships will be test and in some cases...broken.
So much is packed into this book it’s just wild. Sabrina is going to find herself overwhelmed with so much as the other packs have even more reason to be resentful towards them. But brace yourself for some crazy twists. I’m pretty sure my jaw, at one point, just took up residence on the floor.
Everything is definitely not sunshine and roses in this book. There are a lot of “growing pains” and there are a couple of moments of where I get irritated with almost all of the main characters in this book, but it just makes the book more interesting.
This book was so hard to put down. The minute I got my hands on it I immediately dove in and devoured this book. If you enjoyed the first book, grab this book. There is so much going on and you are not going to want to miss it. It takes a minute for the title to tie in, but when it does it’s a real shocker. I’m rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I had some issues with the characters, and some of the inner monologues that are prevalent throughout, but the story is worth it and wouldn’t be the same without them all.

J Kearston is pushing the limits of our expectations with this series this book is literally an atomic bomb that explodes ready to annihilate everyone.

Sabrina is one seriously astounding women and one of the most mesmerising wolfs. She has been through so much mental trauma, still battling the repercussions daily. Yet somehow she is able to build, nurture and maintain strenuous budding relationships. She's able to understand and articulate deal with other when they lash out at her all while focusing on the day job. She's able to be strategic, empathetic and magnamous.

The Hawthorns Cin, Reid, Bo and Slade are walking disaster zones simmering just below boiling point, ready to fracture in a strong wind. One thiny push and they will fall like domino's waiting to be put back together. They all feel deeply for Sabrina but something that should be as easy as breathing is more complicated then they ever knew.

Kaige, Hunter and Damien are enigmas ready to be cracked open from the moment they appeared and Sabrina is the key to it all. Their relationship is built on sand and half truths that are so fractured time will reveal all.

This book is full of lies, half truths, underhand tactics and twists that will not see coming. Relationships build, fall to pieces and shatter hearts with a side of steam that will keep you desperate for more. This is a wild ride with psychos galore, Alpha aholes and the most amazingly broken alpha female balancing everything and everyone, till catastrophe strikes.

I can't wait to see what limits are about to be broken by these amazingly broken characters in the next book.

While book 1 started the series pretty good, this book was not quite as good. Definitely not enjoying it as much & had book 1 started off this way wouldn’t have continued with the series. This picks up where book 1 left off. There’s a few places the flow was off, and the character development is not much more than from book 1, I would have expected more for the 4 original guys/brothers to be introduced in book 1. I was hoping for more so that I could start to like them even more & start getting invested into them. Sabrina is hard to get invested into, as she keeps submerging herself in her project from her job. So immersed she doesn’t even realize anyone is around her while working. The 3 new guys introduced into this book are just off putting, there’s just not enough to make me care about them, just a bleh feeling. Almost set up as bad guys in a sense, not really as potential “mates” likable. The sex scenes are kinda bleh. They don’t really feel like it’s more than to add spice to the plot, not chemistry for the guys. The plot kind of twists in this book, and some of the twists aren’t addressed well. I felt like maybe a few pages were skipped because I didn’t get where something happened that was being talked about -like it had already been addressed before that point but it hadn’t been. The work project just seemed annoying & made no sense in the grand scheme of things, just something to procrastinate the plot from moving forward. Plus while she’s so deep into her project, she’s really not involved with the guys other than Reid, & after what he did to hurt her feelings, I just don’t even like him at all now. Did go ahead & pick up book 3 after this.
