Who new that all it would take was one simple thirty second phone call to change my life and everything I thought I knew . . .

And it wouldn't be for the better.

That one phone call would force me to return to the one place I'd never wanted to be again.

It would open up the doors for so many lies and deceit.

It would force me to face everything i had run from and fought so hard to put behind me.

Most importantly of all that little thirty second phone call would open my eyes, allow me to see who I can trust and who would gladly throw me to the wolves.

It would set the path to unravelling secrets from the past I never even knew needed to be unravelled.

Welp! I definitely was NOT expecting that ending. It certainly kept me guessing and threw me a curve ball at the end.

This little town had so much going on. I swear, a therapist or three need to move to town. Lol. Lots of beautiful relationships, loyal friends, and unhealthy coping mechanisms. I really enjoyed watching the group of friends support Delaney through the chaos. We all need friends as honest and committed as they are. The story kept me interested from start to unexpected finish.

I read this with an open mind - it isn’t my usual preferred genre. I felt like the book was well thought out, the characters are believable and interesting. Each with their own motivations. I definitely enjoyed the character dynamics. World building lacked a little for me personally and I would have liked even more backstory to the characters. However this book definitely twists and turns and throws a curve at the ending that is sure to keep you guessing ! Worth the read !

Envy begins with the MC Delaney. Small town girl coming from an abusive and broken home, but with talent and drive became a successful singer. When she receives devastating news about her younger sister Paisley she is forced to return home for answers. Paisley being not just her younger sister, but her best friend as well causes Delaney to question the situation itself as well as the sister she was forced to leave behind. Returning home with her boyfriend and manager Delaney begins to confront her past as it collides with her present. From there we encounter old boyfriends, unforgotten best friends, unspoken secrets, and the long forgotten memories.

LouLou Fox is truly a hidden gem! This is my first read by her and I enjoyed every moment of the journey. This book was unexpected but in such a good way. There was drama, mystery, unrequited love, betrayal, deception, and soo much more that factor in. The characters were very relatable and could easily be a sibling or a best friend. The more I read I saw the transformation and growth as each character began to discover the truth about the lives they knew and their lives now, and the more the story progressed the more I felt my emotions aligned with theirs.

As a first time author, LouLou killed it! This was an intriguing story of a young lady, leaving behind her troubled home life to fulfill her dream in LA. Her life becomes flipped upside down in a string of events that started with that dreadful phone call telling her that her sister was dead.

She goes back home to find out that it wasn’t an accident but murder. She decides to investigate on her own with the help of old friends when she is left unsatisfied with the police investigation. She won’t stop until she finds the murderer. There’s a whirlwind of emotions that the author portrays in these characters and you can’t help but feel them as a reader. The only complaint that I have is that it starts off a little slow in the beginning but picks up nicely about a quarter of the way in. It was so action packed that I didn’t want to put it down. The ending though!! I was not expecting that.

After living the high life as a celebrity Delaney's world comes crashing down with a tragic loss in the family, making her return to the town she thought she would never see again. She has to face the reasons she left, her abusive mother, first love and the best friend she left behind.
This book is a rollercoaster of events and emotions. Twists and turns. Was the death an accident? Where does her love truly lie? Will anything be the same again?
I had so many questions I couldn't read fast enough... and then the ending! 😲😱

I was definitely speechless 🙉

This is Lou Lou's first book, and I may be a bit biased because I spoke with her prior to reading. But I was in NO WAY ready for this.

What I thought was a simple love story turned out to be dark and treacherous. And while I knew who the big bad was I was not ready for who else was involved and why. A very good read that had me wanting more!

Oh.my.gosh! What an amazing story! A women who left a broken abusive childhood to become a star came home as her sister had died...or was she murdered? Delaney had a circle of supportive big brothers and love interests! Loved this book! Fast paced, you wanted more to find out what was going on and I was routing so hard for Miller!

Being a debut book I was blown away by the creative and clever storyline by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery of who killed Paisley, as well as, the other suspenseful aspects in the story.

Delaney was a young woman from a small English town who could really sing. Luck was on her side when she was discovered and moved to California to become the next pop star on top of the charts. Never intending to go back to that same small town, she received a heartbreaking call from her mother to say her sister had died. There went her intentions and her troubles really started.

Meeting up with her old friends was bittersweet for Delaney for various reasons. The bond they had was still incredibly strong though. Miller, her once best friend, was a fantastic support… mostly. I liked him until he needed a slap on the back of the head. He even recognised it though, so all good. Coen, her ex boyfriend, was also an interesting character who I quite liked, although I didn’t like him as much when Delaney was still living in WIllowbrook. Time can and did help to mature people, though.

The murder mystery is one of great planning and execution by this author. The stalker helped to amp up the gravity of the situation and with the twists and turns made for some great surprises. The intensity of the buildup and the actual action scenes are incredible, my heart was beating twice as fast I’m positive. I will admit to having guessed correctly to the murderer but I had no idea why. I was also shocked by the ending and at the same time found it beautiful too.

Thank you LouLou for reaching out and sending me a copy of your book to read and review.

I have no idea where i begin with this book. It is the first of Loulou's that i have read and i was gripped. So much happens that you just dont want to stop reading in order to find out more. You constantly question yourself on your views as it goes along By that I mean what will happen in the end because there are soo many possibilities.

Delaney Walker is a famous singer from a small unknown town in the UK. One day she gets a call from her mother who advises her that he younger sister has died. Through all the pain and hurt that her hometown holds she heads home.

Things are the same on her return her mother is still the alcoholic that she left and still hates her as much as before she left if not more now that her sister has died. After an argument with her mother she goes to the one place she found solace through all the hardships of her childhood and the person who was always there for her still was.

Miller has Loved Delaney since they first met but he had to watch her be in a relationship with her cousin and not let his feelings for her be known. The love for each other pours off the pages.

With a murderer on the loose and Michael Delaney's boyfriend cheating on her with her manager Miller steps in and Looks after her once more but neither of them can contain their feelings for each other but have to keep it tight lipped because of her ex.

There are darker forces at play throughout this book and many characters that come into the story that will have you wondering who it is that is trying to destroy Delaney.

Soo much happens through this book and Delaney is a badass. I really don't want to go into it as i would spoil the story for you but I loved the twists and turns this book took on.

My Only critique is that in this we get quite a few different characters point of view which at times distracts from the story but overall i really enjoyed it.

My Overall Rating is 4 💋💋💋💋
My Passion Rating is 2 💋💋

Envy by Lou Lou Fox was a wild ride of a book. I was drawn in by the first chapter and couldn't put it down until the end. I love the second-chance mystery romance trope. I thought the author brought a vivid world full of mystery, action, and suspense with some spice added to it. The characters were captivating, complex, and had awesome chemistry. I thought this book was a page-turning experience, and I can't wait to see what we get next. I loved the setup of the story. It was past and present with three POVs. I loved the ending of this book, and the twists and turns were the best.

Delaney was such a strong and determined woman. I felt for her with what she experienced in her life. I wanted to give her a big hug. Miller was the white knight with tarnished armor. He was such a caring and loyal guy. Coen was a dark and broody guy. All of them were friends growing up, and I loved how they band together throughout this book to find out what happened to a dear friend and family member. Their chemistry was off the charts, especially Miller and Delaney. They were cute and loved the push and pull and how they fought their feelings for each other. Such a wild ride of a book, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

WOW! That was one hell of a ride with an ending that was explosive and utterly unexpected.

This story is dark, suspenseful, emotional, drama and angst filled, and with twists and turns throughout that kept me riveted to my seat unwilling to look away.

Delaney's life gets turned upside down with one single phone call. And things for her don’t just end there. She takes us on one hell of a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs like you wouldn’t believe.

As a debut novel, it was well written with fantastic characters, and with a storyline that will keep you fully captivated, engaged, and highly entertained right to it’s dramatic and shocking ending.

I loved it and can’t wait to read the next book.
