Am I willing to throw everything overboard for a sweet temptation?

Lizzie
I’m a big girl with a big heart, escaping my miserable life for a trip around the Hawaiian islands.

I’m a graphic artist by day and author by night, writing real, raw, racy romance. My book boyfriends are inked heroes who like fat, fun, and feisty women (sounds familiar).

My goal is to spread body positivity through my fat and fabulous curvy heroines with a good serving of British humour on the side (not forgetting an extra helping of alpha goodness).

On the very rare occasion I’m not working in my day job...or night job as a writer, I'll be living my best life in the heart of England with my other half, two wildlings (otherwise known as Veruca Salt and Mike Teavee), and a randy cavalier pup.

My serious book fetish travels with me in our tin cruiser as we roam the English countryside. You’ll usually find me in a field somewhere or curled up on the sofa with a coffee (wine), blanket and dog to keep me cozy, and a good steamy book to make me w—warm.

Get in touch! I love hearing from readers.

I didn't enjoy this one. The male and female protagonists grated on my already frayed nerves with their actions. I had to pause and check if they actually ended up together because the build-up was so off.

There were countless pages of incessant conversation and for a novella—which by its very nature is over-ambitious—my annoyance doubled, because the plot was sacrificed for mundane nothings.

To prove how much I wanted to read this, I received my preorder, a preorder I forgot I made!

When you have a fat girl on the cover, yes, I proudly say the word fat because fat is PHAT! You are going to get my attention. Throw in romance and a lot of spice, and you have one happy reader.

After being heartbroken, Lizzie has sworn off men and is determined to enjoy her vacation. Along comes Zac.
Zac is a handsome and very cocky waiter that loves to flirt, but when he meets Lizzie, is it love at first sight or just lust?

I will say, not only do I want a Zac in my life, but if I can’t be Lizzie, I want her as my BFF.
She has this strong, confident exterior, but like so many of us, underneath it all, she is insecure, a little broken, and trying to find herself again.
Zac is gorgeous, self-assured, a cheeky chap, but there is a kind, endearing side to him that very few people get to see, and through all his arrogance, he too has his insecurities.

Yes, there are a couple of cringy moments and the inevitable miscommunication trope, but I loved it.

An adorable chick-lit with plenty of fun, flirty and steamy scenes that make you smile, swoon, laugh a lot and fall in love with the 2 MCs.

Thank you, Annie, for gifting me the arc ebook.
It’s a feel-good read that I’ll reread over and over again.

Oh my Gosh! I sooo enjoyed this book. It was just what I needed after reading a few Fantasy novels. It's exactly what you're looking for in a romance novel!

Thank you so much Annie for giving me the opportunity to get an ARC and review the book.

✅ Strong and curvy female lead (we love a curvy Queen)
✅ Strong and sexy male lead
✅ Spice
✅ Forbidden attraction/romance
✅ HEA

If I wasn't married, I would want to hop on a cruise (if there was no pandemic of course!) to meet a hot Italian cook that treats my like a QUEEN too 🥰

Highly recommend this fun Valentin's day themed cruise romance!

I really loved this book.

1. It was one of the most realistic romances I've read. It's not some billionaire and damsel-in-distress nonsense (although those are fun too). Just an employee and a girl doing her own thing. And they can both be really stupid and immature. He's 25 and she's 30. They're both hurtful and make some really bad choices. But that's human.

2. She's plus size (not sure how much) but isn't shy about it.

This was a cute story set on a cruise ship with great fat representation. I love a confident fat girl in a 2 piece. 🖤 My biggest question tho, why does Zac spill so much stuff? Isn't he supposed to be a waiter? 💀

The reason I'm rating this 2⭐️s is just because Zac pissed me off. (This isn't a spoiler I promise), but during a fight they had, where Zac is definetely in the wrong, he accuses Lizzie of being a slut + then proceeds to slut shame her for her potential body count and with how 'easy she slept with him' when he did the same thing? So he's being a slut shaming hypocrite I guess? Idk but he really pissed me off. I get that big fights happen between the couple in a book, but I don't think the slut shaming was necessary. (He apologized right after, but it just rubbed me the wrong way)

It's a shame because I definitely would have given this book 3⭐️s if I didn't have such a big problem with the Love Interest. 😕

Oh how I loved and devoured this fun and oh so flirty romance story by Annie Charme.

What happens when a super flirty cruise ship waiter meets a beautiful curvy woman on a heart mending cruise? Sparks fly baby!!

Let me tell you.... Cruise ship waiter Zac is seriously dangerous for hearts and panties. This man is sexy, flirty, sweet, a tad frustrating, but oh so swoon-worthy.
Liz our heroine is a big girl with a big heart who I absolutely adored. She is sweet, kind, a little insecure, but can serve up some serious flirty sass.
Instantly, sparks fly between these two. However, while flirting with patrons is part of Zac's job, taking it beyond flirting is forbidden. And Zac, in order to get his life back on track desperately needs this job.
But...
Can Zac fight his attraction and keep his hands to himself?
And...
Can Liz protect her heart from more heartbreak?

Oh what a journey these two took me on. It was fun, it was flirty, it was sweet, it was romantic, it was angsty, it was frustrating, and it completely stole my heart.
I mean that ending, insert all the heart eye emojis.

I loved and highly recommend this read!

This was my first Annie Charme read and definitely won't be my last.

I absolutely adored this book. When my ship comes in takes place in a shared world on a cruise to Hawaii. I fell in love with the characters Zac and Lizzie straightaway. I loved how clumsy Zac was around her, it was so adorable. Charme gives you a perfect mix of romance, spice and laughs and to top if off the fact the FMC Lizzie is a curvy plus size woman gets a massive thumbs up from me. We need a lot more FMC’s like her. Loved the miscommunication trope too.
Do not hesitate to read this book. You will definitely get all the feels and I was gutted when the story ended, so much so I devoured the bonus epilogue straight after. These characters will stay with you long after you have finished.

Goodness me, I loved this book! But then, I wasn't expecting anything different from Annie. Her stories are heart wrenching in the best of ways, and I always put the books down with a smile.

Lizzie and Zac meet each other on a cruise ship, and while neither of them are looking for a relationship, fate seems to have other plans.

Zac was the cutest thing ever. The way he was clumsy just melted my heart. It was refreshing to read about a male character that felt just as tongue-tied at the females.

I recommend this read for everyone! It's sweet, it's romantic, it's spicy in all the right ways! I'm still new to plus sized romance, but am quickly becoming addicted.

Thank you Annie for letting me ARC read for you!

This was a good story and I especially loved the ending. Their road to an HEA was certainly a bumpy one, but eventually they get it right and are really happy.
The one issue I had was through most of the book, even with her POV I felt a block from being able to connect with her. He notices she doesn’t act like the luxury of her suite is normal, but doesn’t think much about it. There are little points, mostly in his POV, to tell us that she isn’t the normal wealthy client to book that room on a cruise but we aren’t told why until he knows. Not entirely a bad thing, but for a while I just couldn’t fully like her because I felt like I didn’t really know her.

*I am leaving an honest and voluntary review after receiving this book as an ARC.

It was really a cute book, Lizzie is a fun female lead and I most definitely don't dislike her, Zac is also a good male lead very cocky but he's not terrible. The plot was fun and it got sort of boring some bits but I don't regret reading this!

Ohhhhhh holy angsty goodness. I’m pretty sure my heart was in my throat for 80% of this book. I loved every second of this emotional roller coaster! Our heroine is a curvy goddess and our golden retriever hero loves every piece of her! Their chemistry is so fun loving and light but when they need to they look deep and see that they’re each other’s HEA.

Stash this on the MUST READ shelf and get to it on February 7th!

PLUS SIZED REP FOR THE WIN! This book was absolutely adorable (and oh so steamy) 😍. The angst was perfect. The entire book was like having a summer getaway in the dead of winter. Truly so so great.

3.4 Stars (rounding rules apply)
This is my introduction to Ms. Charme, and what pulled me in was her heroine being plus-sized. While plus-sized representation is getting a little more traction they are still a relatively small collection. It was definitely something I appreciated about this novel.

Zac was adorable. He was your traditional playboy with backstory that shaped him both by his family life, but also love life. He was the cruise ship employee, and that brought a whole level of conflict to the story. He had a past and was on strict order not to fraternize with the guests; not that this stopped him when it came to Liz. Once his eyes connected with this curvy goddess, he was hooked and couldn’t stay away from her, at first because he wanted the tips and was attracted to her - and then because he had fallen and fast.

Liz was recently single, and on a couple’s cruise. She was determined to enjoy her time. Running into Zac piqued her interest, though not all reasons were good. As a plus-sized curvy girl, I personally, had a hard time connecting with Liz for most of the story. I felt she was very childish in some of the ways she acted, then standoffish in other ways. It was like whiplash in some scenes with how she interacted with Zac.

Throughout there is a lot of miscommunications, and assumptions made by each character that drive the story along. Along with minor characters creating problems, or trying to help - and more misunderstandings were had. There are also some cliches, which I will not go into (as it would be a spoiler) that just turn me off from a story. One of my biggest pet peeves was included within the storyline and, even though I liked Liz and Zac, just turned me, personally, off towards the end. In my opinion it didn’t need to go there, and the fact it did was frustrating to me.

Overall, the story was a good chick-lit. There was some laugh out loud kind of situations – like Zac always being clumsy around Liz. It was a quick read, and the spice was about 2.5/3-chili peppers on a 5-chili pepper scale (based on my own opinion). This would be a recommended book for a vacation, perhaps at a beach, or if someone is looking for a quick read.

While I really liked the cruise ship setting, not much else about this book worked for me.

Zac just came off so cocky that it got really obnoxious to me. Lizzie called him out on it, but the way she did so came off like she thought it was charming, and I very much do not agree with that.

Lizzie was fine. I didn’t mind her as a person, and I understood her motivations. Their relationship was very hit and miss, and unfortunately, more miss. Some of the sex scenes were hot, and some seemed over the top and just added to make the book even steamier.

I didn’t enjoy the ending. My rating was probably closer to a 3 for a while, especially after the casino scene. But it just went downhill from there, and the time jumps didn’t work for me at all. I’m bummed! I wanted to love this because I love cruise travel and plus size rep, and it seemed like such a fun and quick read. But this just wasn’t for me.

Close proximity / Plus Size Heroine / HEA

Love love love!! 🖤

Zac & Lizzie are absolutely adorable together and I loved reading their story so much!

Zac is working aboard a cruise ship to save money, when he meets a curvy beauty with bouncy blonde curls that instantly grabs his attention. But there is a problem… he isn’t allowed to get personal with Lizzie because it’s against HR policy. And he really doesn’t want to get fired, even if he wants to spend every free minute with the sweet, British bombshell.

Lizzie is alone on the cruise, getting away from her life back in England for a bit. When she meets Zac, she instantly likes him, but she just got out of a relationship that ended with her bf and her best friend hooking up behind her back. She doesn’t trust men, especially charming, smooth talking cruise attendance that looks like he could be a supermodel.

But… she IS going back to England and he will still be on the ship. So what would ONE NIGHT hurt?

❤***1000% reccommend!!!***❤
After having read the author's first book I was really excited for this shorter read. I actually stopped reading the book I was reading to do so.....I read it in one sitting until 3am, could NOT put it down. I was engaged from start to finish as each chapter had me wanting more. A really lovely, cute read but still hot and steamy.....a perfect mix. I again loved the main female character being of bigger size and how he adored every inch of her, so refreshing. She was so confident in her skin too, lovely to read about as I wish I could be the same in mine so really relatable. This book had me going through a range or emotions from anger to worry to sadness to bursting into tears in elation.....what a book!!! Thanks for writing, good luck in your future books. Looking forward to the next. ❤

True to the title, A naughty nautical romance is no lie! The steamy romantic encounters between Liz and Zac did not disappoint! Liz finds herself single on a couple's cruise. She represents the curvy, larger bodied women of which we need more of. Liz is unsure of herself, but Zac , who works on the cruise ship, brings out the beautiful goddess in her, and boy does it ever shine! This certainly had me blushing and had I been on a cruise, I may have needed to jump in the pool to cool off! This is a fun, flirty, fast read. Great for vacation or for those who need a break from reality wishing they were on a cruise. This may or may not be an excellent read to get you in the "mood." You're partner will thank you.....(wink,wink) You're welcome!

Ummm this was cute but weird?
Like not a freaky weird but enough that I was like wait.. what's going on now?

Do they really even like each other honestly? One second their having steamy moments then their hating on each other, didnt they just meet and its only been how long...
The time lines funky, the relationship is funky, MMC is a clutz, and the FMC represented the plus size gals well but she just was not it for pettiness and childishness of the "fights" in this book.

I wanted to love it but :/

mixed feelings…

Maybe it deserves a higher rating.. I’m not sure. It was not bad. The steam was there but they were so toxic when they had miscommunications and misunderstandings. I think the story would have been there if not for the toxicity between them .
They barely knew each other and said some pretty awful things..that’s kinda what threw me, but other than that, it wasn’t too bad.

This is a fun Valentine's Day read. Our FMC is going on cruise, and has booked one of the suites for herself. She isn't looking for anything but a good vacation to Hawaii from England. Our MMC is working for the F&B department of the cruise and saving up to open a restaurant. His biggest tips - rich older women. When he helps our FMC into her suite he has his sights set on her, but maybe this is more.than just flirting for tips. They shouldn't cross the line, but they only have 2 weeks.

I wanted to like this book, especially since I have experience working on a cruise ship. However, there are a lot of incorrect things in the book about crew life, and it ultimately took me out of the story.

Look, if you're just looking for a spicy romance story, and don't care about inaccuracies, this is probably fine. The characters fall for each other incredibly fast, and I don't buy why the male lead is okay risking everything for her just by how she looks, but okay. I get that these kinds of stories aren't where you go if you want a slow, believable romantic build-up.

But, I just can't excuse a lot of the things about crew life that just aren't true, and are integral to the story. Look, every ship is different, so maybe this one is special. But crew do not get a lot of time off. They are working long hours - especially waiters. In one scene the male lead doesn't go to work until the evening? That's unheard of. In another he has the complete day off. I assure you that crew do NOT get this much time off, and if they did, they won't be spending it in the passenger area. The author does mention the crew bar, which is accurate, but passengers are definitely not allowed and can't just easily sneak in.

I feel like the author could have talked to one crew member and got them to point out some of these inaccuracies. I think the author just assumed working on land at a restaurant is the same as on a ship, which it is not, and called it a day. It's a bummer because the rest of the cruise ship details are accurate, especially the passenger-specific parts.

There's also the frustrating premise that a crew member and a passenger aren't supposed to hook up (which is legit) but they end up doing so in multiple areas where they could be spotted but no one ever notices? Also, like I said, the male lead gave up his crew code pretty quickly, which doesn't make sense since he takes his job so seriously.

If you're looking to suspend disbelief this is probably fine, but if you want a realistic look at crew life, I'd look elsewhere.

Man I was hoping this book would be a nice spicy little palate cleanser after Onxy Storm, but it was not the vibe for me. Please don’t make me read “my wet heat” and “channel” 🤢 Also, ughhhhhhg sooo many second, third, fourth, maybe even fifth act break-ups. PLUS the miscommunication trope over and over PLUS a surprise pregnancy? Not my jam 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️

So much to love in this book

Loved this super fun fast-burn with very likeable main characters. I wanted to strangle Zac sometimes because he was being so hard headed but I still couldn't help but love him. The last few chapters were everything - their relationship grew so much and I was 100% there for it.

I enjoyed this fast paced, witty and hilarious novella.
The chemistry of the main characters is there since the first encounter, and you root for them as they face their hardships. The unexpected twists nearing the ending wrap it all up nicely. I recommend.
