Phantom Genesis
Long ago, the world became ravaged by an unprecedented catastrophe referred to as the Blight. After failing every attempt to halt its advance, humanity resorted to cutting-edge technology to seek refuge among the skies. Hundreds of cities ascended to escape the devastation below, but after all these years, only one defied the test of time: New Eridu.
As history faded into obscurity, the past became legend, and a figure known simply as Xul emerged as the new supreme deity. Shrouded in mystery, the word of Xul is mercilessly enforced by the reigning Executors of humanity's lone haven. Whether truly a god, or perhaps the leader of an ascended race responsible for man's narrow salvation, he is venerated by most throughout the city.
Some, such as Lucas Corvin, reject the official story in favor of a much darker truth, for they have glimpsed into the mystical powers that the Executors and their hidden masters, known as the Watchers, fear discovered. As the cosmos nears a period of great transformation, Lucas must endure the rising tide and awaken what remains of humanity before it's too late.
