No doubt about it, I lost it tonight. No one will ever have Tess but me. If it were up to me, I would lock her up and only I would be able to see her, feed her, bathe her.

He’s bad for me and he hasn’t stopped staring. His eyes caress my face, hair, body as if he wants to memorize it over and over again. He moves closer and I step back into Jax’s strong chest.
“Jax can’t save you, Kitten.”

I pull my dress up slowly over my hips. Suddenly the DJ and his loud music are gone. Jax and the group of friends vanish. I only hear his breathing. I only watch his eyes. His stiff muscles flex as he clenches his hands. His jaw ticks. He looks at me like I’m his kryptonite. I want him to look at me this way. I hope it hurts him, fucking tortures him.

My face heats up. Anger drives me to be honest with him. “I loved you. And you gave away all your firsts!”

Telltale title. 😌

Obsessively jealous, smug fuckboy.

The heroine should have made him work harder to fall back into her good graces, but the way she forced him to test for STDs had me screamingggg

One word describe this book is angst! Tess and Reed have loved each other since they were 8 yrs old. But wow is there a push and pull between them. Tess I loved her strength but she drove me nuts with her ability of not communicating. Reed I have a hate love relationship with him one point I loved the man with his sexiness attitude and strength then I couldn’t stand him and wanted to cuss him out. Both love each other so much but with the lies and no communication it has huge walls up that so badly need to come down. I’ve never screamed out loud so many times while reading a book! I felt like I was Jax so tired. Definitely a must read can’t wait to find out what happens next. 5/5 stars

I'm not sure I've read such a roller coaster all year and I loved it!

This book really tests your feelings on soulmates. It's a mess. The people, the story, their life, and yet it's a form of reality we often over look. Just because people have money, does not mean life is always peachy.

I love that we get both character's POV and a then and now type of story. You think you have it all figured out, but you know something ominous is just ahead. You can feel it.

I had a different thought on how the end would be, but was blown away at the outcome and I can't wait for more and see how everything happened and unfolds.

Someone recommended this book to me and since they've never steered me wrong before I read it and made no attention to anything, so had no idea it was the first in a duet!! Usually this annoys me, but I'm not even mad because I really enjoyed this book!

Oh and this is a debut novel! I can't wait to see what Cassandra Robbins graces us with in the future!

THE GOOD:

* I like the story concept and how we see growth in Jax and some in Reed
* The story outlines a love that is all consuming and shows how sometimes this isn’t a good thing
* Jax-he was the brother that just was kind and sweet. In the end I was on the fence about him.
* the ending left me reeling and I couldn’t believe Tess and what she did. I also couldn’t believe Reed’s family did that as well. And how she blamed him wrong. All kinds of wrong on all sides. He didn’t deserve that no matter how controlling and a douchenozzle in the past he was.
* The evolution of Reed from a selfish, entitled douchenozzle to a mature, slightly less douchenozzle who has taken his lumps and sucked it up buttercup. He has experienced pain loss and it has hardened him but in those college years you see him more mature and consistent. He is supportive but also kinder and more accepting. That final decision of his was difficult you can tell but one you understand.

*no matter how much the main characters drove you bazonko, the story drew you in. They were a train wreck waiting to happen but you needed to see the disintegration. And see Reed slowly evolve into a less douchenozzle over time had you stay in the story as well. You wanted to know the secret and once out you want to know what is next. Me: TEAM REED. His brother disappoints me and his family just all kinds of wrong. They don’t really think about Reed at all but Tess so I understand why Reed in three years pulled away more. He I think could feel something was being held back. He also went through some dark ties and it hardened him but also disciplined him and got him to be more in control of himself. Too bad it may have also hardened his emotions as well.

THE BAD:

* The main characters. I have Reed grow on me more than Tess but you can’t really like them. As stated earlier-Reed you grow to like more but Tess she just grates on my last nerve throughout.

* Tess-she was too needy, whiny and aggravating. At the end where she was blaming Reed was all kinds of wrong. He didn’t destroy anything she did. He didn’t lie she did. She blames everyone but herself. Always made herself the victim. She wasn’t. And at the end I wanted to smack her so bad.

* the romance toxic and a bit over the top at times - it was all consuming and started to destroy who they were. Reed more than Tess. Tess was just grrr....Reed he began to grow on you as we see him mature.
*

YAY or NAY: Yes because I need to see Reed’s story out. Has he matured enough? Will he be able to forgive his family is my biggest one. That right there is the aspect I am shocked most about. Tess no his family yes. Can he let go of his anger and grow more. Will his heart thaw. Me what Tess did was disgusting and she acts like he forced her hand. He didn’t and she is wrong so so wrong especially since she had his family this whole time on her side and he had no one. No feeling sorry for that chick. Reed yes her no. I hope he can overcome his anger in the next part but not sure I want Tess in his world other than on the periphery. Beginning to feel that his family there is a good thing as well.

Oh my sweet baby jesus this book!! 💕😭😭

There just isn't enough word's to express in how absolutely amazing this book was. This is my first book by a new arthur for me and wow is all I can say. This is the story of Tess & Reed who meet when their both 8 and Reed claims her as his own so that his twin brother Jax doesn't get dibs on Tess. Oh yes indeedy these boy's are a hoot at that age and she's their accomplice. This book takes you through the stages of them growing up and Tess and Reeds love continues to blaze into an inferno with an obsession for each other. When I started reading this I honestly couldn't stop so about 1 am I had to stop I kept telling myself I'll read to this chapter or time and pretty soon I was almost done. This is one heluva page turning book and you can't help but want to root them on, but they had issues and their age played a difference in their bad decisions, but you will fall in love with them just the same I can't wait to find out what happen's next.. Yes definitely a must read.

I am going to preface this with I don't normally read nor enjoy Romance novels. However, this book has changed my mind!

The story of Reed and Tess is reminiscent of the fiery love we have all experienced and seek still. The passion between these two characters is incindicary, raw, and real. There are no cliche sappy connections- rather the relatable and consuming feelings that come when you find the person you can't live without. It's consuming!

At times I was annoyed with the interactions of the main characters; however, this is a testament to how Robbins has brought them to life. Not only do they feel real and relatable, but I was left wanting to reach out to both of them to see how things were going.

I devoured this book in a day and savored the feelings it elicited. I can't wait to see how the saga of Reed and Tess continues.

Robbins has made a romance reader out of me.

Can I first say that I can not believe that this book is written by a debut author? I was stunned at how well the plot and storyline wove together into this amazing book!
If you are an angst lover as I am, READ THIS NOW! Tess and Reed's story is sexy, heartbreaking, and gut-wrenching. I was spellbound by the development of their obsession with one another from a young age until adulthood. Nothing could stop me from reading this book in one sitting. I just had to know what was going to happen!
I loved the cliffhanger ending that left me panting for more. The second book will quickly be following in November so don't be afraid to grab this book and devour it. It reminded me of old school Jamie McGuire and K.A. Linde, where angst and passion collide into one incredible read.

I can not recommend The Entitled enough. Watch out book world, Cassandra Robbins is about to take you over!!!

Not for me.

First I want to say the author does have talent as a writer. I truly think she needed someone to be brutally honest with her during her development of this story. As there is a major Yuck factor in adolescence having graphic sexual encounters. If she would have aged the main characters from 14/15 to around 17/18, then I could have tolerated the sexual encounters. The storyline of obsessive love was very intriguing, but the excessive sex actually pulled me away from a plot. At times I felt that the author was trying to push the boundaries of erotic romance by including everything under the sun, plus some BDSM.
The author does have talent in crafting a story, but the execution of the story just was not my cup of tea.

At the time of the review the book was read via kindle unlimited.

4.5 stars for me

I had a goal in 2019 to read a new to me author every month. This was my January read and what a fantastic one. Found a new author to stalk.

This is the type of YA story that has you wanting to both hug and slap the characters. The first kisses, the tummy butterflies, the friendships that become more. Then you get to the mistakes they make. Boy are they brutal. Young hearts are broken and the amount of pain they cause each other is exactly why I love YA books. I legit wanted to read into the Ipad and smack Reed in the face at times. Seriously! But that's also why I loved it. The author was true to the age group she was writing and their mistakes are what make them great characters. Who didn't do stupid things when you were 15 and 16. I know I did.

Gotta say the cliffhanger ending is brutal but I luckily had book 2 to dive into immediately.

Angsty AF

Holy hell was that a roller coaster ride! There were a couple times I wanted to stop reading due to all the angst but I pushed through - it got lighter toward the end. I am not sure how I feel about Tess and Reed though. Their relationship is pretty messed up. Sometimes people shouldn't be together no matter how much they love each other. I am hoping that they get their crap figured out in the sequel because I will always pull for that HEA.

The Entitled by Cassandra Robbins (The Entitled Duet Book #1) is a really good read, especially as this is the author’s first novel. It is full of drama and angst, and literally keeps you on your toes to see what the characters will do next.

This book is angst personified. Tess and Reed’s characters’ story aren’t from fairy tales, and it was interesting to read their story from the very beginning, seeing them develop as a couple and as individuals.

My heart felt for Tess’ character – especially when it comes to her relationship with her parents. How toxic it was. For that, I really wanted to give her character a hug and take her away from the toxicity that was her parents. I loved seeing the diversity of her relationship with her parents to Reed’s with his – and the way that they treated Tess. It was nice seeing her receiving some love somehow. I especially loved Brad (Reed’s Dad).

However, it felt that in some parts of the book that Tess and Reed were annoying me a little. Tess felt just a little too clingy and whiny and Reed just felt too arrogant to me. It did take some time for me to grow to love them. But I did get that the older they got, and the more recent their story, they grew a little more, but honestly, I wouldn’t want to sit around a young Reed at any point of my life – he would just annoy me too much (lol).

Other than that though, I found the story really interesting. It covered all the bases of a really good love story full of angst and passion. And that cliff-hanger... WOW! It has definitely wanting me to read the next book. Really good! Can’t wait to read more!!

Standard, recycled plotlines with one-dimensional characters that you've read before. It's a second chance, childhood-friends-to-lovers duet with a man-whore hero and virginal heroine. The love is instantaneous and we don't see them develop it at all, we're just told about it. While apart, the hero parties it up and has sex often, threesomes etc, while the heroine saves her virginity for him because for some reason being pathetic is normalized in these types of novels. The heroine is snobby, jealous, and apparently so pretty that every guy mentioned in the novel wants to get with her. If only she actually did something about that to make this story a bit more interesting.

Perhaps this is a case of me and not the book, since the writing was fine, but I've just read so many books exactly like this one or better that it was quite boring.

I think I experienced every emotion possible while reading this book, including yelling NO! when the book ended in a true cliffhanger.

Tess and Reed fell in love at 8 years old, were separated as teenagers and found their way back to each other as young adults. At times I had a hard time relating to the main characters as I wanted to slap Reed and shake Tess and tell her to speak up. However, I couldn’t stop reading. The storyline kept my attention and I cannot wait for the continuation of their story.

The Entitled is the first part of a duet by Cassandra Robbins, and it will have you wanting the second part ASAP!
Synopsis: Tess and Reed are childhood sweethearts. Their love affair faces some serious challenges, but can they overcome them?
This was such a good a read! The way Cassandra puts you inside the characters’ heads makes you feel like you know them like an old friend. And the writing beautifully takes you on a ride, leaving you wondering if something will happen or not. Be prepared for an epic
love story. I, for one, will be rushing out to get The Enthralled when it comes out!

4 Stars!
Okay, first I just want to say that I've never read anything by Cassandra Robbins and I just wanna know... HOW!!!!

This love story took me on an emotional rollercoaster. I cried, I laughed, I swooned, I got pissed... but in the end, I fell in love with the story and characters. The writing style was right up my alley and I just loved every bit of it! There are many authors that do terrible at writing the hero's POV, but Cassandra.. she killed it with writing female and male POV.

Reed is hot and possessive as hell when it comes to his woman. Tess is Tess.. she wasn't the worst heroine in the world but she doesn't have that much of a backbone. Together, Tess and Reed are such a sweet couple and it made me upset that there were so many bumps in the road for them.

The one thing that prevented this book from having 5 stars from me was the constant drama going on between Tess and Reed. After reading the book, I felt like when they would break up/fight, they both would not even fight for their love and they would just let each other go. Reed claimed to love Tess so much but when they would break up he would go drown himself in booze and sex. I believe the author portrayed Reed to be so obsessed and in love with Tess, but if you love someone "so" much like that, you don't just go sleep with hundreds of girls and throw away the innocent, young love they had. Not to mention when he slept with hookers he would imagine they were Tess... and it was just a little much.

To all my fellow Goodreads friends: This was an amazing book. I loved the characters overall and I will be checking out more books from Cassandra!

I'm currently reading book 2 and I'm excited for the ending, Review 2 to come....
P.S. I really hope Jax gets his own book!! **Crosses fingers**

Passion, lust and amazing chemistry. This couple is hot from their relationship at 15 to years later, you the reader will find it physically impossible not to fall in love with Reed and Tess.
Tess is sweet, innocent and a bit like a princess but the way Cassandra writes her, I found it hard not to route for her. She comes from two parents who can't get their act together and have no issue with making it known she was a mistake. Tess loves Reed with everything she has but all that changed when tragedy tears them apart.
Reed is hot, sexy and obsessed with Tess. He has a temper and will use it if any guy thinks about getting near what belongs to him. His soulmate is Tess and nothing can stop them from being together. Then she does the unthinkable and Reed is reeling with anger, yet he is still needs her more than anything else.
This love story is epic. This was by far my favorite read of the month. Mark your tbr for this one.

Oh my. I don’t even know what to say about this book. I will say that for this authors first novel she really hit it out of the park. With engaging characters, witty banter, a plot that begs to be devoured, once I started I couldn’t put it down. I liked both Tess and Reed. I could feel the connection they had and even though I wanted to smack them both up side the head I couldn’t help but root for them to be together.

The secondary characters played such huge roles in the story and while some of them annoyed me to no end, their parts had to be played. Now when it comes to cliff hangers there’s ok ones that don’t leave me wanting to throw my kindle and ones that have me so mad I should have waited and this book is the later. I am going to be stalking this author until the next book come out because she has such an amazing talent. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen. 5 stars #2OCCJD

3.5/5

For being Cassandra’s first novel, I have to say this was a really good read.

The first bit in the first chapter oh my goodieness. I was hooked. I wanted to keep reading to see where the story was going to go. I was able to read this story in a day.

The connection that these two have is undeniable. They have known one another since they were 8 how cute right? Tess’s parents come for a visit and when they first meet, I think it’s adorable that Reed got all gobsmacked when he first see’s Tess. Their relationship is real, and I find that reading some books it’s sometimes is hard to come by. At some points I did get a little annoyed because Reed and Tess love one another unconditionally and they just couldn’t communicate their feelings. Aside from that I really enjoyed the book and the relationship they had.

I cannot say enough good things about this book! It was a whirlwind from page one. The perfect mix of angst, romance, and intriguing secondary characters, this story has it all. I started it early in the day and stayed up half the night to finish it. I could not stop reading. Reed's over-the-top alpha possessiveness was perfection. I loved the way he craved Tess almost to the point of obsession and how she accepted him wholeheartedly. I'm usually not a fan of books that focus on the early teen years but by chapter two there was no way I could walk away from this story. Now I sit with my heart in my hands wondering how they can ever come back from that ending! No pausing here, I'm jumping right into book 2! I have to know what happens next! If you're looking for a good angsty, steamy read this is definitely one to check out!

*I received Entitled ARC for my honest opinion*

I had a hard time putting this book down. Reed and Tess have had an all consuming love since they were 8 years old.
The emotions you get when reading this book is all over the place. This book encompasses all of the emotions. It definitely had quite a few steamy scenes. I wouldn’t read this in public...it’s quite naughty. I’m certainly not complaining ;-)

I will say that I wasn’t the biggest fan of either of the two main characters. Tess was a little too damsel in distress for me and Reed was over the top. However, the story line kept me reading and I’m glad I finished it.

This book definitely leaves off with a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the next book!

What a crazy, chaotic, wild ride for a first book. This is the perfect title of the most snobby, pretentious and entitled group of people I’ve read, and I love it! Cassandra did a masterful job of bringing full color to all the characters and keeping an intensely fast pace and me glued to the pages. I know that this level of crazy exists somewhere between two extremely codependent toxic people and what fascinated me was if you think they couldn’t sink any lower, yup it happened. I’m exhausted reading about all the chaos. I loved how well it was written. Not sure I’ll be ready for the conclusion — can it get worse?!?!

I am in love with these characters and can't wait to see what comes next for Reed and Tess.

So excited for book 2 in the duet!
