Upon graduating NYC's School of Visual Arts, Robert took his BFA and did the only natural, logical thing... he formed a rock 'n' roll band and played at CBGB's.
Robert had the honor of serving as trusted assistant to the legendary Will Eisner, inventor of the graphic novel and creator of The Spirit.
Robert has won awards from PRINT, SND, GRAPHIS, HOW, DESI, AR100, SPD, etc...as well as a prestigious Washington Middle School Class Artist of 1972 Award.
When asked by a teacher what her dad did for a living, Robert's daughter replied, "I don't know...he just stays home and colors!"
Someone at Adweek called him "The Most Un-Neurotic Artist I've Ever Met."

I received an e-copy of this book as part of the Early Readers program without compensation or promise of review. Visually this book is fantastic with the artist's use of shapes and colors. I enjoyed the introduction of construction equipment and tools needed to build a typical playground and think pre-readers and early readers will enjoy learning about them too. This book will show readers how much behind the scenes work is needed to build slides, forts, swings, and more.

This was just okay, teaches kids about different tools used in construction but wasn't very exciting visually or textually.

I mainly liked squishing Momma’s fingers in the pages of this book! But I love going to playgrounds, so seeing how they are built was pretty neat too.

Thank you to the publisher and the Early Reads for the advanced electronic review copy of this book. This book for the youngest readers describes the tools and equipment needed to build a playground. It is an interesting concept to bring STEM to the youngest readers. I enjoyed learning how the playgrounds come together and what goes behind the scenes to assemble them and get them ready for the children to play.
