This is a really great way of learning basic french in a short time (three months) even if you've never done the language before. Its also available with a CD which, even though the imitated pronounciation in the text is quite good, I'll recommend to first timers...
I completed this book in 1 month (library deadline), spending 1-2 hours a day. It is very well written, and covers all the essential grammars in French.
This is a great book for perfecting your French pronunciation with the native speakers on the 3 CDs in the set, and building substantial vocabulary and grammar with key phrases, model sentences, basic verb conjugations, etc. The exercises and instructions are very simple and easy to understand, which are set up in a way that you can go at your own pace. I've already gone through the first two months and found that the fluidity of my speech has improved considerably, which I didn't expect initially. The course is absolutely amazing and I would recommend it to all beginners in the language!
Hugo's foreign language learning series are really effective, so I'm planning to continue with Arabic and Spanish when I have finished Hugo's French in 3 months and Advance French course.
Book and companion tape set. Builds fluency and comprehension by recitation and repetition of key vocabulary and beginning to intermediate grammatical concepts. Amusing situational dialogues used as chapter reviews are repeated twice, first slowly, then at a normal pace, for optimal comprehension.
very good but I cannot underline nor mark in this book in Kindle
Otherwise I would rate 4 stars… Other Kindle books on my iPad I can do marks, underline, comment etc. but not this book, bought in Kindle store. I do not understand why.
