This is an excellent resource for the beginning weightlifter and a good one for intermediates. It covers principles of technique and programming in very practical terms.

Tommy Kono was a wonderful human being and this comes through in the book. One of the biggest thrills I had in my years in weightlifting was briefly meeting him at the Masters Nationals one year. A very gracious and generous man.

Skimmed through for history. Not very relevant today, in both programming and conceptualization of the lifts.

His explanations helped where a number of others hadn't. The inspirational stuff is a little over the top, but isn't it always?

Perfected my olympic lifting form in just 3 days thanks to Tommy Kono and his book. The diagrams were very helpful and it is basically my textbook now :)
