Brian Wood's history of published work includes over fifty volumes of genre-spanning original material.
From the 1500-page future war epic DMZ, the ecological disaster series The Massive, the American crime drama Briggs Land, and the groundbreaking lo-fi dystopia Channel Zero he has a 20-year track record of marrying thoughtful world-building and political commentary with compelling and diverse characters.
His YA novels - Demo, Local, The New York Four, and Mara - have made YALSA and New York Public Library best-of lists. His historical fiction - the viking series Northlanders, the American Revolution-centered Rebels, and the norse-samurai mashup Sword Daughter - are benchmarks in the comic book industry.
He's written some of the biggest franchises in pop culture, including Star Wars, Terminator, RoboCop, Conan The Barbarian, Robotech, and Planet Of The Apes. He’s written number-one-selling series for Marvel Comics. And he’s created and written multiple canonical stories for the Aliens universe, including the Zula Hendricks character.
It's great to he plunged back into the world is Zula and Amanda in this issue 1# comic. It has confirmed some theories I had about the role of the colonists and Weyland Yutani, it also makes me wonder what could happen in future movies if they decide to go down this path as well. I really enjoyed the views of Earth and bringing back some characters we were familiar with in Aliens: Defiance. The artwork is also on point and I felt like one of the panels paid a homage to The Terminator as well, also the use of the term Off World always reminds me of Blade Runner. This mix comic has turned out quite well and has me wanting more. I especially love the alternate cover by Tristan Jones. I have already pre-ordered a copy at my local comic book store.

I am an avid Alien fan, and I have finished all the movies. While I am waiting for the release of the new Hulu series I though I might try out the graphic novels. Maybe it’s because I typically don’t read old-style graphic novels, or maybe it’s because of how short it was, but this book just didn’t do it for me. The art is nice, but they do this weird thing where they make the outline of the eyes really thick so you can barely see it… and while I get this was a stylist choice I just wasn’t a fan. As a fan of the franchise, I feel obligated to read/watch all the media relating to the canonical timeline (Even though these are technically spin-offs) so for me this wasn’t a waste of time, but if you aren’t as devoted to it I wouldn’t recommend this book.
Oh gee, an issue of a comic where a character(s) tries to locate some kind of space colony, and shenanigans ensue. Never seen that done before.
Also, woah, what's with this sequence of credits that we have here? This comic's getting all fancy on us, thinking that it is some sort of movie, but I got bad news for you: you're still just a comic! Sure, you probably would be a better movie than a good number of the actual Alien movies, but still...... comic.
Issue #1

Yep this has my interest which excellent art an interesting opening that is this far a good read. I would give it another star but hate incomplete comics. I guess it will keep my interest for now until the next issue.
Good color artwork, dark horse freebie. Amanda Ripley teams up with zula. The corporations are still making power plays. Xenomorphs or Aliens are still being sought after.
A brief peek at Aliens Earth, and a set up for high stakes horror and espionage with Zula and Ripley, who we can hope will be excellent heirs to the franchise.
