So ordinary, it really shouldn’t have been a surprise when she realized she had powers. She should have suspected something when every animal she encountered, no matter how “feral” they seemed, took an immediate liking to her. Maybe they could sense the inner animal in her—her ability to shapeshift—just bursting to come out.
Unfortunately, she never found any of this the slightest bit suspicious, because maybe if she had, she wouldn’t have been so reckless with her powers; she wouldn't have been so unprepared for what was to come.
However, no amount of preparation could have ever truly readied her for the horror, death, and betrayal to come. Will she be able to hold herself together long enough to find the evil lurking within and expose it, or will she perish trying?
Hi! My name is Megan Hayes and I'm a high school freshman from Northeast Florida. I love reading and writing, music, animals, and spending quality time with my friends and family. I've been telling stories for as long as I can remember, and being a published author is a dream come true.
In order to be transparent - I’m the author’s mother. The author is 15 years old and this is her first novel. I think she did an amazing job of self publishing! The story is suspenseful. Good character development. Descriptive. Good storyline. Creative. Needs a little more editing, but I think she has a great future as a writer.
I remember when the author announced that she was writing a book, at least to me. We were sitting together playing monopoly at our church.
I am so proud of Megan and her work. The book was a very fun read, and a book that I found interesting. The characters were intricately thought about. The plot was distributed equally into the book. 5/5 Would recommend!
