👉Forget about diet, focus on building a nutritional plan.
👉Include protein in all main meals.
Be careful with the “fuckit button”, e.g. it’s the weekend, “fuckit” I will eat this pizza.
👉Mindful eating 20-20-20 method: 20 mins eating, 20 seconds between bites, chew food for 20 seconds.
👉The 7 deadly diet sins:
1️⃣Thou shall not fool thyself with treats
2️⃣Thou shall not pick food off someone else’s plate
3️⃣Thou shall not forget to count alcoholic calories
4️⃣Thou shall not disregard that portion size matters

👉NEAT: Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis. 5 ways to achieve this:
1️⃣ Standing rather than sitting
2️⃣ Daily steps of minimum 10k target
3️⃣ Walking/cycling for daily commute
4️⃣ House cleaning and gardening
5️⃣ Play with kids
👉The importance of sleeping 7-9 hours per week. Some tips:
1️⃣Stick to a sleep schedule
2️⃣Don’t exercise too late in the day (do aim for 30 mins everyday even if just hitting 10k steps)
3️⃣Avoid/minimise caffeine and nicotine
4️⃣Avoid alcohol before bed
5️⃣Avoid large meals/drinks late in the day
6️⃣Avoid medication that disrupts your sleep, if possible
7️⃣Don’t nap after 3pm
8️⃣Relax before bed
9️⃣Take a hot bath before bed
1️⃣0️⃣Dark, cool, gadget-free bedroom (try airplane mode on phone)
1️⃣1️⃣Have the right sunlight exposure
1️⃣2️⃣Don’t lie in bed awake (get up after 20 mins if you haven’t fallen asleep and do something until you feel sleepy)

This is it!!!- this is the book that has finally made it click for me! My mindset is adjusted to understand we don't need a cycle of indulgent eating followed by a crash diet, lapsing back and being frustrated and lilely gaining back any weifht lost- you build a solid eating approach of foods you like and enjoy (helped to be developed based around the understanding as provided by Brian re nutrients, macros etc) and you just lower or increase the calories based on your wants or needs. No need for exclusions or massive calories cuts, and endless cycles for limited overall results!!

Big fan of Brian- no nonsense and understandable approach combined with vast knowledge and experience, and an ongoing desire to learn. Highly recommend this book as a brilliant all-rounder with regards nutrition, exercise, sleep and stress.

Started what I had called "my weightloss journey" 15 months ago, totally focused on the scales, I soon discovered Brian's podcasts and realised after listening for awhile that it was more to do with mindset and a lifestyle change, not a quick fix and not focus on the numbers on a scale. This book is filled with so much useful information, tips and so easy to read. If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed or unsure, you can delve back in to the book, keep it on hand and refocus on your goals. It's definitely one that will be kept on the bedside locker.

As Brian had mentioned himself, this book can be used like a toolbox.

You have sections on mindset, nutrition and training, sleep and stress and building your own plan.

I love that if I want to find more details about a particular topic, I can flick over to that section and read up on it.

This is definitely something I will look back to over the years, definitely a great investment for a better life.

The podcast is fantastic, but it is great to have things laid out in front of you in a book form.

I listen to Brian's podcasts & had already read "Rewire your Mindset" so was absolutely delighted to see that he had a new book on the market.

I found this new book to be very helpful when it came to the mindset around losing fat, and maintaining that for the long term rather than offering a quick fix which is not really sustainable.

I've recommended this book to others in my circle, as I feel that it is hugely helpful to those who struggle amidst a world of information on the subject to get the information best suited to their needs.

Having been a long time fan of Brians, all I can say is well done. He has an amazing ability to explain ideas and thoughts in the most simple and easy to understand form.
His books, podcasts and social media pages have played a huge role in my own journey to date and I simply couldn't recommend him and those wells of information enough!
This book in particular really is suitable for newbies who need the basics and those who may be further along their journey.
No B.S, straight facts and only the information you need. No fluff for fluffs sake.

Absolutely loved Brian’s latest book - was given an advance copy in an Instagram competition and I found it brilliant in every way! No matter if you have a nutrition background or not the way Brian explains and breaks it down is incredible and so enjoyable to read ! The last section on sleep and stress has me wanting more and will 💯 be looking into it more after he explained it! There is something in this book for everyone and would 💯 recommend

Having read both Brian's previous books, and as an avid listener to his excellent podcast, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. I love Brian's style of breaking everything down to a very basic and easy understandable level, leaves out all the jargon you hear nowadays and says it like it is. I 100% recommend thus book to anyone looking to change their attitude and mindset towards leading a healthier lifestyle.

Essential tool on your weight loss journey. Easy to understand and breaks the process down into easy steps for sustainable weight loss. Gives examples of relatable experiences in previous mistakes to recognise and avoid in the future. Love his no bs approach and tells it how it is. Excellent book to have to keep you on the right track doing it the right way. Would highly recommend. If I could give it more stars I would.

This book strikes the perfect balance of getting the mindset right and that provides the foundations for achieving your fitness goals.

I like how Brian uses the analogy of having your "ladder up against the right wall" and "not pressing the fuck it button"

This book has served me well and i loved how the book is layer out so you can pick up and read a chapter a day without losing where you were previously

Forget The Lord of the Rings and The Dark Knight trilogy.. THIS is the trilogy you want! From the mastermind behind "The Fitness Mindest" & "Rewire Your Minset" comes this must have: "The Keane Edge"

And incredible book that will help absolutely anyone regardless if you're a professional within the fitness industry, somebody just starting off on their journey or a stay at home parent, this is the book for you!

Can't recommend it highly enough just do yourself a favour and grab a copy!

I am a huge fan of Brian and have been listening to him for awhile now. This book was just super. I had put on a covid stone and the self loathe that was attached with it was horrid. I would start my 'diet' every Monday and would fail by Tuesday because I ate 'bad' food. I now am sticking to a nutritional plan that suits me without the guilt of having a take away now and again or chocolate or wine. Thanks Brian for hitting the reset button for me.

Another master piece from Brian. Just a simply brilliant hand book for anyone wanting to chance their lifestyle, eating and exercise habits. Brian's philosophy is very simple - stop making changes you cannot stick to in the long run - it has really changed my approach about food and exercising and discovered a new meaning of "balanced life".
Highly recommend this book to anyone who is or has struggled with lifestyle changes.

Loved this book so much, along with his other ones.its very educational around nutrition and training. It suits all ages and all goals nutrition is a very hard part to grt right and this book breaks it down perfect along with all the different recipes definitely one the best and educational books I’ve read!

Recommend anything by this guy... books, podcast are both great... to quote some many nuggets of gold’.
I love the honest approach, consideration of both sides of opinions, all the experiences he has that are next level he is able to bring down to relatable information and advice for day to day life. 👌

Such a great, easy to read, motivating book on how to fix your mindset, get your nutrition on track and workout/train for long term benefits. Loved it and cannot recommend this book highly enough for anyone who is looking for a no nonsense approach to meeting your health, fitness and wellbeing goals.

I read this in linear fashion on Kindle. Have to pick up a hard copy now too because Kindle isn't ideal for referencing back. Will definitely be doing plenty of that in years to come, brushing up on my knowledge of sleep, nutrition basics and training. 10/10, expected nothing less from Brian, definitely recommended!! 💪🏻

Absolutely unreal. Read the fitness mindset and rewire your mindset last year so had to pick this up when I saw it. Brian knows his stuff and his anicdotes and analogies are priceless. Would definitely reccomend to Anyone into the gym or training

After reading and loving Brian's other books I was looking forward to his book and it has not disappointed. Very informative, straight to the point, no bs way to get the reader looking at their way of thinking around health and weight loss. Great read!!

Had been listening to Brian's podcasts so thought I would give his latest book a try. Reading the book is like having a chat with Brian over a coffee. His wealth of knowledge and his ability to get his message across to the reader is excellent.

What a read! Hats off to Brian Keane on this book. The knowledge that this man has is unbelievable and I love how he simplifies it for us readers! I would highly recommend this and now to put my ladder up against the right wall! 10/10 must read.

After 12 weeks off training due to a fractured ankle, this book was the exact kick up the backside I needed to get me moving. Super easy read without overcomplicating things. Could not recommend it more. Loved it.
