Cruel. Savage. Heartless. A few of many words that are whispered behind palms as I pass. A long, long time ago I stopped caring what other people thought of me and started embracing their fear. Fear is power. Fear is motivation.
At least it is for everyone but the snarky little blonde that's been caught in my snare.
She's nothing but collateral. Nothing but a nuisance. I've broken more wills than this Tinkerbell wanna be could ever even count and she will be no exception. I'll either get what I want or she'll disappear like the rest.
There's no Pan in this story that can save her. She's only got me and unfortunately for her, there's no room for her in my obsidian heart. ------------------

***Twisted Tales Collection*** A collection of deliciously dark standalone retellings written by thirteen twisted authors. These aren't the fairytales your mother read you before bed, there are no knights in shining armor or fairy godmothers. But there just might be some whips, blood, and sexual deviants with dark enough pasts to haunt your nightmares and wet your panties.
I am a self-proclaimed coffee enthusiast who loves reverse harem books and is addicted to adopting animals. I dig crows, witchy things & anime. I live on a small hobby farm surrounded by my favorite people and growing animal family. I write under two pen names—AJ Wolf & Halle.
I’m not a nice man, Love.” Bringing my other hand up, I yank on her dress, ripping it into two.
“I don’t talk nice.”Bellamy protests, trying to pull her dress back together, but I throw the torn fabric aside.
“I don’t act nice.” my fingers dip into the elastic of her underwear, tearing them off of her next as she yells. She tries to stand, and I hold her down with a hand on her shoulder, her nails digging into my forearm as she tries to push it off. My other hand swipes through her spilled wine, coating my fingers.
“And I certainly don’t fuck nice.” I ram my fingers into her dry cunt, the wine dripping from them only easing their entry a tiny bit.
I really loved this one. The sixth book of the Twisted Tales Collection, and as the name says... Very twisted and dark story... Where's Peter Panne??? Bellamy, code name Tinkerbell (she's in escort business), is in love with Peter Panne, a man-child who likes to gamble and owes money to James Hook. And so begins Tinkerbell & Hook story... Oh... Yes... Steamy too...

This story definitely has me looking at Hook in a whole new light ! Wow leave it to A.J. Wolf to have me obsessing about the fairy tale Peter Pan! Only it’s Hook not Peter this story is all about! This was a unique sexy kinky dark and twisted retelling and I’m so here for it the writing is excellent the characters are amazing I devoured this story in one sitting! Definitely recommend and this one is my favorite out of the Twisted Tale Collection so far !
"Going to isn't the same as doing it, maybe next time, you'll do better."
But the same cannot be said for A.J. because she's the best! Every single time. I don't have to read blurbs to be interested in her books. Just bring it on, she cannot do wrong.
I have to say this one will have me looking at Peter, Wendy, Hook, Tink, and Smee in a WHOLE NEW light the next time I watch the Robin William's movie, or the cartoon I guess.
James Bartholomew Hook is a mercenary and loan shark disguised as a rockstar. I mean he wears black nail polish, has a man bun, rocks jeans and tshirts instead of suits, and has jewelry all over his body. Well not everywhere I would have expected a nipple and a few cock piercing but sadly there aren't any of those variety.
Tink's real name is Bellamy and she's only called Tinkerbell because of the fairy wings she has on her back. For the past eight years, I still can't believe she did it that long, she was a high class escort. Most of her clients wanted to talk or have arm candy thankfully. Yet it's Peter Panne that her heart desired. The miserable gambling piece of... trades Tink for his debts. I mean how dare he.
But it's the feistyness in Tink that saves her life. She is someone Hook simply cannot get enough of, and at every turn he's taking her body to new heights even when she fights.
I need more characters like James Hook in my life. He reminds me of the saying - Do you want the man who'll sacrifice you to save the world? Or do you want the one who will sacrifice the world to save you? Peter does anything to save himself, while Hook does anything to being his Little Bell happiness.

As with everything I've read by A.J Wolf, this is a brilliant story with interesting characters, lots of darkness and a good amount of smut!
I was excited for this retelling as I loved Peter Pan growing up. Tink/Bellamy is an escort, she seems cute and soft for the most part but I loved when her fiery side came out! Hook is a loan shark, and takes Bellamy as payment. I really enjoyed their relationship, and I loved that Hook stayed a villian and didn't turn good in anyway, though he does have a soft spot for Bellamy.
So, if you're looking for a dark read that will leave you dying for more even at the end, this is it.
I love retellings, unfortunately as far they go this was my least favourite ᑭᗴTᗴᖇ ᑭᗩᑎ retelling, I know the one I have previously read (𝙳𝚎𝚎 𝙶𝚊𝚛𝚌𝚒𝚊 I'm talking to you) set the bar quite high, however I didn’t expect this one to plummet so low.
Bellamy is a sweet caring girl and she deserves the world, she was wronged by Peter, who in this story is a sleazy, pathetic man, and she was later tossed around without any consideration from Hook. I liked how she took everything with grace but never giving up her spitfire persona.
I found some aspects of the story extra and OTT and I didn’t feel they served the purpose to make Hook more evil than he clearly was, nor brought in any valuable elements to the story development .
Hook was evil through and through he stayed the same up to the very end, although I appreciated how consistent the author kept him, I can’t help but being annoyed with his uncouth behaviour. I love villains but Hook can’t qualify as one, he lacked finesse, his brand of evil sprouted from ignorance, his actions were crass and needlessly heinous. There was no cleverness behind them. I despised him from the very first unnecessary choice he made and I couldn’t warm to him. I don’t believe innocents should pay for the sin of others, only men with no honour go down that way, which is exactly what he did and kept doing until the end.
Another thing that contributed to my lack of enjoyment of this tale is the way the author handled non con. I wish authors would stop validating rape by giving the heroine orgasms. You want to go down the dark path, by all means do it, but go all the way. Don’t muck it up, don’t think that an orgasm makes it right, first of all it’s an offence to a woman’s intelligence to believe such crap, secondly it’s so off putting, it takes out all the darkness, it portrays a lie, especially in this case where there is no love but only misplaced attraction and abuse. Which again, it’s fine! But you as an author must own it! Be brave and take out the gloss that only brings illusions, please don’t feed us lies. If this is not a love story, don’t sell it as one.
Overall all the men in this retelling (both main and side characters) are all crappy work of art😂 and I think Bellamy would have been so much better off on her own merry way without the burden of these Neanderthals. Ms Wolf managed to create such a poor image of the men population and for that I applaud her talent 🙌
⚠️ This story is part of the 𝕋𝕨𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕕 𝕋𝕒𝕝𝕖𝕤 ℂ𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟, and even if, so far for me, this was the least enjoyable instalment, I totally advise you to read it and form your own opinion, you never know you might love it! Just read the trigger warnings the author gives, take them seriously they are there for a reason… heed them before venturing into this depraved world.
When I was a kid, I used to adore reading fairytales... As an adult, I adore reading their twisted versions... Peter Pan wasn't my most favorite fairytale in the world... Obsidian star though... Hmmm... That's another story!!! I never really liked Peter Pan, but James Hook in here captivated me in a weird way!!!! I love this idea with the twisted retellings of known fairytales and A.J. Wolf did an amazing job with this story!!! Peter Pan who??? Hook is the real deal here!!!
"You're mine now, Little Bell. Remember that."
I don't know how this woman is doing it, but her stories, even when they are short, they are so full and very satisfying... She made me see this fairytale with different eyes and I was panting for more of this world and its characters!!! What would you think if I told you that Tinkerbell was an escort, Peter Pan had a gambling addiction and Captain Hook was a ruthless loan shark??? You would think that I have lost my mind, right??? And I did lose it!!! But in the most sinister and depraved way!!!
"Poor Little Bell fell in love with someone who never loved her."
Hook was a ruthless man and no one was getting away from his clutches... Bellamy was a bright and sassy girl, but her weakness toward Peter was clouding her judgement... As for Peter??? I never really liked the guy!!! After all, he gave Tink as collateral to Hook with no hesistation and from that moment, Bellamy's life changed once and for all... But she is determined to fight the big bad wolf, no matter the consequences... But Hook is not a man who's taking no for an answer!!!
"I own you, Bellamy. Therefore, I can do whatever the fuck I want to you, whenever I want to do it."
This was a very interesting version of the known fairytale... It was a raw, twisted, intense and sexy as hell version!!! It was deliciously dark and captivating!!! It wasn't a story for the fade of heart and you may be careful if you decide to enter this sinister world... But the only sure thing is that you will be intrigued and captivated and yes... You will fall in love with a villain!!! I told you before... Peter who??? Hook is the one who can make your blood boil!!!!
"Peter fucking Panne. I knew I should have killed him..."
**I received an ARC for the exchange of an honest review**
Bellamy is an escort, but she has a feisty attitude and is a fighter. She lives up to her nickname of Tinkerbell. James Hook is a loan shark and a ruthless one. He doesn’t let people get away without paying their debts. Peter owes Hook money and offers Bellamy up instead.
Hook is the villain in this story and he never changed, however, sometimes the villains need to find their happily ever after, too. He takes and doesn’t care what anyone thinks. He does have a caring side, but shows it in a different way. However, I loved his character. I loved Bellamy. I loved her personality. I loved that she didn’t give up given her situation, if only it only made her fight harder.
The chemistry between Hook and Bellamy is there. The two of them really balance each other out. They shouldn’t work so well together, yet they do. Their story was addictive and it was hard to put down once I started.
If you’re looking for a dark, fairytale retelling this is one to check out after reading the trigger warning.
First and foremost, this is not really a love story. So calibrate your expectations and mentally prepare. This is a story of dark and depraved lust, one where our characters do end up together but there is not love here, no tenderness, and our ending feels more HFN than HEA- but man, it is certainly entertaining in the “should I be shocked in a sexy way or in a this is too much for me” way. So, all in all, I myself don’t even know how I felt about this- which is the AJ Wolf experience. She unsettles, she challenges, she goes to the uncomfortable places.
This is the story of a prostitute version of Tinkerbell, naively and blindly in love with her client Peter, but turns out Peter doesn’t reciprocate in the way she imagined when he easily trades her for his gambling deck to the notorious James Hook. And HOok is most definitely the villain- not romanticizing here. AJ lets his full depravity fly- in fact, we get to see him do some pretty deplorable things before he gets his hands on Tinkerbelle- we get to see him graphically murder folks as well as sanction the brutal rape of a young girl. Yeh.
I can get behind a dark villain, but I need my villain to ultimately adore my heroine, and there are some lines that are hard for me to see past- and that scene is one of them. Had we not gotten that in such detail, I may have more easily fell for Hook. And that’s the crux of this story- there is no space for redemption or even really any tenderness of fondness. We get even more depravity with Tinkerbelle herself - noncon, dubcon, and lots of it.
This is definitely some dark and taboo smut- we get lots of it. Our characters are interesting, but this is a shorter story, so I feel like we don’t get to really see their chemistry evolve- and then we careen to a non-love ending. Hook does get all possessive and darkish swoony in some places, so that was enough for me to want to cuddle him. It’s wildly entertaining, I just wish we had a bit more complexity, and I’m still questioning if I really liked it in the good unsettled or the bad unsettled way, haha. SO, if you like dark smutty and a hyper controlling alpha, this may be your jam. I normally do, but this one super went there, so jury is still out for me. Be sure to check out the triggers.
AJ Hook has got me falling in love with Hook. I've always loved the villains. Villains are who they are with no apologies. They aren't fake and I appreciate that so much. They say what they mean with no regrets. While, I love Villains and growing up I wanted the Disney movies and the princesses, I was never a huge Peter Pan fan. Nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't big for me. But this book, has me reconsidering and maybe I should have just paid more attention to Hook.
Hook is 100 percent the villains in this story. He's not q good guy and he doesn't pretend to be. Peter though, he's not your typical Peter Pan. He's a skeeze. And little Tinkerbell, well, she's a fireball as she has always been.
When Tinkerbell winds up in Hook's clutches, she's convinced she will be saved. But when she's not and she can't escape right away, she learns to change her frame of mind.
This is not your HEA fairy tale. Hook is not capable of falling in love and getting married and all that. Tinkerbell is not falling in love easily and dreaming of her wedding. She doesn't forgive and she never stops fighting.
Now just because this isn't a sweet and mushy love story with an HEA does not mean it lacks steam in any way. The steam in this had me panting throughout. Hook knows what he is doing and knows how to get what he wants.
“Aren’t all surprises good?” I scoff, shaking my head. “Absolutely not. For example, when I was kidnapped and brought here, that wasn’t a good surprise.” A hum rumbles from him. “It was a pleasant surprise for me.”
I just love the casual conversations they have 🤣 James Hook had me HOOKED from the beginning, he’s a loan shark who kills anyone and doesn’t think twice about it, your debts not paid wellll Hook is coming for you.
Peter Panne sees Bellamy who’s an escort and they have a relationship that is definitely not it. Peter can’t pay his debts so instead he offers Bellamy, AKA Tinkerbell. She has an attitude, she’s a fiesta little think and together Hook and Bellamy have this unique relationship that is twisted, toxic and out of this world. Hook is the actual Villian and his little bell has accepted it
Bellamy, aka Tinker Bell, nicknamed that for the set of fairy wings tattooed on her shoulder, is an escort. She's in love with Peter Panne, her favorite client, and he seems to feel the same way about her. However, when Peter gets into massive debt with Captain Hook, he trades Bellamy's life for his.
Thoughts
I couldn't see what Bellamy saw in Peter, but then neither could Hook. When I previewed this book a long time ago, I thought she was going to end up with Peter, so I was like wow, we are starting with a sex scene right off the bat. I thought Peter was the villain, lol.
I found it interesting how closely the book followed the literature but had its own spin to it. Now I want to read Peter Pan or watch the movie again.
I felt like Hook's pubic hair was mentioned several times. For example, "Her cunt squelches, sweet juices dripping down my shaft, wetting the hair at the base of my cock" (177). Hook's looks grew on me since a man bun didn't appeal to me at first, but I could see how it would be hot. I liked how Hook's personality didn't change during the course of the novel; he stayed a villain.
The book didn't end with the typical "I love you", which was interesting, but not what I really wanted. I guess I do like that HEA after all. I wanted Bellamy to get pregnant; they sure did seem to be having a lot of sex without a condom.
DNF 5% The book begins with her sucking Peter and mentally reflecting on how much she enjoys working as a prostitute! P.S And the protagonist is James Hook, not Peter.
Obsidian Star by A.J. Wolf was a delicious retelling of Hook and Tinkerbell from my favorite childhood story of Peter Pan. Of course, this version was absolutely a much much more tantalizing , infinitely more seductive🔥 and a little on the kinky side. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to watch a Peter Pan movie with my kid without blushing and grinning from ear to ear😬😉. I mean Hook was utterly what sensual “nightmares” are made of. His dark and ever so twisted aura coupled with his dirty, lascivious mouth had me panting🥵. The steam level was OFF THE CHARTS. So, if you are into villains more than heroes, and enjoy morally gray to blackish stories, Obsidian Star is pure gold and it may make your day, night, week…
You love to hate him and hate to love him. He's wicked, he's cruel but he's oh so hot!! I love me some Hook!! 🔥 Little Bell, full of fire and sass. She gives him a run for his money. Literally!
A wickedly hot, modern retelling of Peter Pan, with Hook and Tinkerbell (Bellamy) being the main characters. Once a villain, always a villain but he's so damn good!!
It's dark and twisted and may not be for everyone. There are some triggers, so keep that in mind before reading. I absolutely loved it!! I want more!
**I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review**
This story was a dark twisted tale of characters we all may know and it added its own style to it. Hook and Tink what a duo I never would have thought would work but man these two just do. This was such a fun yes fun in a dark way retelling and I loved it. I don’t want to give too much away because this was a wild ride of epic proportions that should be devoured not spoiled. I will say I loved it and it does have triggers so be warned but don’t let that scare you away from this crazy ride.
Obsidian Star is a darkly twisted modern retelling of Peter Pan. Who knew Hook could be such a deliciously dark anti-hero. AJ Wolf takes all the characters you used to love and spins them so brilliantly.
Hook is nobody’s hero and he takes “VILLAIN” to a whole new level. Bellamy (Tinkerbell) is feisty, sassy, and gives Hook a run for his money. They’re explosive together.
Obsidian Star is a fantastic read. If you love dark retellings and twisted characters, this is one to read.
This was one of those books that I couldn’t put down each time I picked it up. It was easy to fly through and kept me well entertained.
Absolutely filthy and I loved that immensely.
This book just felt refreshing. Not a lot of back story, not a lot of build up. It just took me where I wanted to be with out dragging me along and I loved it there.
Check triggers because there are some rough scenes
I don’t mind smut. I like it when it’s appropriately added ALONGSIDE an actual plot. This book gave me the feeling that I read a porn scene with minimal plot. Anyway, that’s the main reason for the low rating.
I hated Hook. 😃 He’s a villain. I LOVE my villains and mortally gray heroes. But he was irredeemable! A villain till the end. I have never hated a Hero in a romance novel more than I hated this guy. Kudos to the author for actually warning us before we begin reading.
I hated Bellamy. 😃 She’s supposedly a good person down on her luck. Yet she has no issue with Crazyass Hook murdering innocent Wendy, and having his men beat Peter to death, literally.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Please make sure you read the triggers I feel like there was a trigger missing with chapter 4 dealing with a minor that almost put me off of the book completely however you can skip it that part when you realize what's going on and it will not effect the rest of the story My overall rating for this is 3.75 out of 5
If you like anti-heros that stay villainous, this is the book for you. For those of you wondering, this books is not paranormal. It happens in the same world we live in.
Obsidian Staris an Enemies to Lovers, Dark Romance, Peter Pan Fairytale Retelling from theTwisted Tales Novelseries, written by new to me author A.J. Wolf. Through dual perspectives, it mostly follows the story of Bellamy ‘Tinkerbell/Tink’ and James Bartholomew Hook along with appearances from some other well known characters.
Hook and Tinkerbell’s story was a fairly fast paced, quick read that just so happened to be a Fast Burn having brought the high spice levels. Author A.J. Wolf manages to pull you in hard and fast. Making you ultimately fall down the rabbit hole that was all things Hook and Tinkerbell as a whole.
When it came to the narrative the majority of the focus was spent on their relationship, following the whirlwind of the Enemies to Lovers trope. Though Hook and Tinkerbell may have hated one another to start off with. It didn’t stop the sparks they gave off from flying, especially when it came to their heated moments. The constant back and forth they had going on led them to always be in close proximity paving way towards a standoff, leading to the rise of their sexual tension. Only to result in Raunchy, Red-Hot, Spicy Fire that was Steamy AF!
Although the spotlight fell on their relationship, the storyline still allowed us an insight perspective into Hook and Tinkerbell’s lives as individuals prior to meeting. As well as through the changes that lead them to meeting and taking them on a crazy experience together. Through the journey of them entering each other’s lives, it took you on a somewhat chaotic adventure. One that was filled with drama, angst and a hint of a mystery, within the suspenseful and tension filled path that was ventured upon. Given the situations that occur from the events that take place.
Seeing as how fast paced the overall story was, it felt like there could’ve been space to for more chapter to be added IMO. Just because it ended quite abruptly, with how rushed it became closer towards the end, leaving me with a sense of unfulfillment.
However with that said, A.J. still did a great job withObsidian Star, since I enjoyed it overall. Which is why it’s safe to say, A.J. Wolf has certainly won me over as a reader and a fan!
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
☆☆☆☆☆ Obsidian Star was one hell of an incredible read. I want James Hook in my life for behind closed doors access. Peter Pan was never a fairytale I embraced as a kid but these adults’ versions are so appreciated in my life. Bellamy aka Tinkerbell or Tink is a high class escort involved with a customer, Peter Panne. He is not the Peter many children love. He owes a lot of money to a loan shark, James Hook. Instead of paying off his debt with money, he gives him Tink. People call Hook cruel, savage, and heartless. He embraces every one. He doesn’t claim to have a single good bone in his body and he won’t in the future. He feeds off fear and runs his business with an iron grip. He finds it almost impossible to get a grip on Tink. She fights him tooth and nail yet her feisty nature calls to him. He’s an expert at breaking wills. He will bring her to heel or be rid of her, as in disposed of. In this dark fairytale, there are no heroes like Peter Pan to save her. If she thinks she can find a place in his black heart, she’s sadly mistaken. AJ Wolf blew me away with this story. The plot was well developed with uniquely crafted characters. The darkness combined with twisted and kinky Hook had me salivating the majority of the book. There are a lot of trigger warnings so please heed any you find. If you love dark and deeply twisted romances, then I suggest you give this one a try. Be prepared, it’s not your typical romance with a typical HEA. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
Obsidian Star by AJ Wolf is a dark retelling of Peter Pan but from the point of view of Hook and Tinkerbell. Bellamy (Tink) is a snarky young woman caught up as collateral damage and given to the deliciously dark Hook as payment for a debt that cannot be paid. What ensues is a dark story about giving up control and how sometimes a villain is just a villain.
The chemistry between Hook and Tink was great throughout the story, and I loved the fact that Tink doesn’t really love Hook but loves the power that he wields, even when he makes her own body betray her! Tink is definitely a strong woman and when she goes head-to-head with Hook the results are explosive.
I loved that the book was a retelling and not in the traditional sense. We see Peter as this snivelling, nasty young man who doesn’t take any responsibility and causes a lot of issues for Tink without any apology for it! When Tink comes to her senses about him, it is quite liberating!
This book definitely has a lot of triggers for some readers and may not be for everyone! Overall, a great retelling with some kink, bloodshed and strong characters!
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊
I have enjoyed the Twisted Tales collection and seeing how each author has their own creative spin on classic tales. Peter Pan was one of my favourites growing up so I was looking forward to this addition.
The names of the characters were basically the same as their fairy tale counterparts but with more of a modern twist. Hook was still the villain with his trusty sidekick Smee, Peter was an immature man and Tinkerbell loved Peter. The best part of this was having Tinkerbell and Hook as the love interests. I loved how they played off one another and that Hook actually remained a villain in the story. He was a villain but not THE villain, if you know what I mean.
It’s a short and quick read with plenty of steam, drama and a few laughs actually. I enjoyed the ending and the little inside joke between tank and hook in regards to Wendy. Sometimes even the villain needs a happily ever after and I like that Hook finally got his.
Literally, that was the first thing I said when I started reading and it was the last thing I said when I was done reading.
Please take the trigger warnings seriously at one point I was like no way this is gonna happen and then IT HAPPENED and I was like Whoa.
I feel like Wolf really pushed her limits with this one and in my opinion, it was done well this particular instance I think furthered the plot and proved Hook is not a good man. Often times we read about these bad guys who are morally gray but still have a good guy in them. Listen, I don't know if Hook has it in him, did he do some good things for Tink. Maybe. But he is ruthless.
Okay, so Tink is an escort who is in love with her client Peter. But Peter, not a good dude. He's nowhere near as terrible as Hook but he plays Tink. Tink is feisty and I just loved her.
I devoured this book easily and I really hope to see more of these stories from Wolf.
