Sometimes storm clouds can dampen even the most romantic holiday of all… And so can murder. It’s Valentine’s Day in Dogwood Mountain, Missouri and donut shop owner, Maggie Sharpe, has tasked one of her employees with the job of hosting their holiday celebration. Things are going well until an unexpected storm hits the town and there’s a hit and run involving one of the guests at a local bed and breakfast, who was just at Maggie’s shop hours before. When the storm causes flooding and the roads close, everyone is afraid that the Treats for the Sweet event will be a bust. Just when Maggie thinks her stress level can’t get any higher, it turns out that the hit and run is anything but accidental. Struggling with a lack of suspects, Maggie casts a wary eye toward the object of her affection’s old flame, hoping that she’s not being overly biased, under the circumstances. Hopeful that the clouds will clear, both literally and figuratively, and that the Treats for the Sweet event can be saved, she dives headfirst into investigating. Sleuth alongside Maggie in Dogwood Mountain, where romance is in the air and murder is afoot in this delightful Culinary Cozy Mystery.
It was almost Valentine's Day, and a couple of our donut shop faves were bitten just a little by the jealousy bug. With a murder and a flooding rain to distract them, Maggie and her pals set out to solve this one. With Maggie's plan in place, the perp was caught, and the ending was really cute.
This series is fast becoming one of my favorites. Although this is the fifth installment the book had a fresh and interesting storyline. As always the mystery was well plotted. One of the things I like best about this series is that although the donut crew tries to figure out the killer, it is the town's police chief that generally solves the crime.
Water seems to be a problem right now. There's a water pipe that burst at the bread and breakfast on the hill. There's a roof problem at the donut shop. One of the guests dies in a car accident during the torrential rain that won't let up. But the police don't think it's an accident and the donut shop crew tries to figure out who the killer might be.
Another fantastically delicious book. Maggie, Ruby and the rest of the rest of the crew get involved in another mystery in their town. Will they figure it all out before the big valentines day celebration? Pick up a copy to find out. Well written story with great characters. I wish there were recipes at the end, the food in the book sounds so good. I look forward to reading more.
I love this series!!!! The books keep getting better!!!! Maggie, Ruby, Myra and Orson are getting ready for Valentine's week and the day itself. They want to decorate and make special donuts and a special romantic night at the Donut shoo, but the plans start to fall apart when Gretchen comes from her B & B with her guests, because of her plumbing. Harvey Wilson an investor of small businesses, he had a contest to pick the winner, while someone didn't like the results and no one got the prize!!!!! Who? Why? Was it one of the guests or someone in town? His wife was a big suspect, but others had reasons also!!!! Now get this book to find out!!! You won't be disappointed!!!!!!
Valentine's Day is always centered around showing those you care about most your appreciation. Unfortunately for one couple that wasn't possible. Maggie and her crew were on the case in spite of people being in the way and a crisis at the donut shop.
Even with the crisis they were able to find the murderer and still come put on top. I am so over the moon about the ending and cannot wait to see what blossoms from there.
I absolutely adore this series and each book just keeps getting better and roping me back in. With such great characters how could you not fall in love with the Donut Shop Gang?
When one of the B&B guests runs off the road dies, the search is on for the killer. The characters are all under suspicion. Then, a major rainstorm traps everyone from flooding and the roof of the Donut Shop caves in. Myra's Valentine's Day event is moved to Gretchen's B&B, and the killer who ran Harvey off the road to his death is caught. I loved the way the Valentine's Day menu cards are used to catch the killer. This book was a real thrill to read, and I recommend it to anyone who likes cozy mysteries.
Another entertaining read in this donut cozy series.
A deadly hit and run for a guest at the local B & B during Valentine weekend. Local storm causes more damage than just flooding as a body is discovered. Once again the gang will come together to solve the case and if Maggie has not enough on her plate and old flame returns to cause havoc.
One of the guests at the BandB is run off the road and killed. While this is being investigated the donut shop is planning a big valentines event. Then torrential rains hit town and the donut shop roof collapsed. Lots of surprises and a fun read.
Orson has hidden talents, the green-eyed monster is running amok and a flooded out event.
Myra is planning a Valentine's Day event and Orson is being grouchy. Cupid doesn't need an arrow with all of the green-eyed monsters running around. I think I missed that Brett has been married multiple times. The hit-and-run seemed to take a backseat at times.
This series has caught my attention. Good story plots and vivid characters drew me in and the Author keeps me coming back with the well-tested method of writing installments as short stories. I truly want to know what’s next in Maggie Sharpe’ life.
I like this series. There is always something happening. Orson the cranky beast is so adorable and he knows how to play the violin. Brett and Maggie need to get together…maybe the next book?
Boy this one had a few annoying characters. I felt sorry for Maggie having that deal with them. I had narrowed it down to two suspects by the time the killer was revealed. I am not excited for the next book.
I'm glad this is nearly done. 5 books and the slowest romance of the new century still hasn't started out of the gate. The mystery is still ridiculous in scope and solution. I mostly like the characters but would really like to see a decent plot.
This was yet another great story by our genius author😁. It's amazing how much you can learn from a simple story about others in your life! I feel as if I wasted a lot of time on other books but be assured I have finally found just the right story!!
This is book 5 in the Raised and Glazed Cozy Mysteries Series. Maggie, Ruby and the rest of the gang from the donut store, work together to solve a mystery.
