A witch with buried power. A shapeshifter torn between beast and man. Together, they must defy the gods to survive.
Catriona Remington tried to leave her past behind—her magic, her coven, and the memories that still haunt her. As host of the newscast, The Scoop At Five: Live!, she prefers to show the world a brave face. Inside she’s barely keeping it together, worrying over the fates of Sarina and Jonathan Lance, who are trapped in the dimension of Blackwater Hills—a world ruled by shapeshifters, ancient laws, and primal magic.
Complicating matters is her irresistible attraction to Samuel Singleton, the newly crowned leader of the tribe. His touch awakens the power she’s been suppressing since leaving the coven. But when Catriona follows Samuel into the Shadowlands to rescue his father’s spirit, she finds herself at the mercy of the witch goddess and her demons.
Samuel never wanted to lead. Now he is bound by duty and tormented by forbidden love and a power he doesn’t understand. To save his father and protect his mate, he must learn to accept Bestiae—the god-like part of himself he can't control. But will Catriona’s presence in Blackwater Hills irreparably damage the Balance and provoke the wrath of the Raven of Otherworld?
For fans of shapeshifter romance, dark magic, ancient curses, and fated mates, this is the spellbinding third installment of the award-winning Children of Corvus trilogy.
An IHIBRP 5-Star Recommended Read. Readers’ Favorite 5-Stars.
L.E. Harrison lives in a 1860s farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania with her husband and a fourteen-year-old long-haired tortoiseshell cat named Mosi. She is the author of the award-winning contemporary fantasy trilogy The Children of Corvus (Blackbird, Merula, and Corvus), Jarren and Reyna (The New Order of Corvus), Julian Cato and the Four Immortals, From the Uncollected Thoughts of: L.E. Harrison, a collection of traditionally published poems and short stories, and Letters in the Attic, a collection of poetry and flash fiction. Two short stories, “The Time Guardian” and “Tony’s Monster,” are featured in More Lore From the Mythos Volumes 1 and 2.
Hidden agendas come to fruition and dark emotions are at play in “Corvus (The Children Of Corvus Book 3)” by L.E. Harrison, but none are so shocking as what is revealed to both Cadie and Samuel as the former tries to resolve past issues and bring about a new future for himself and his tribe.
Shocking revelations are in store for Harrison’s readers as she weaves an intricate and terrifying conclusion to her paranormal thriller trilogy—with love, deceit, and murder sitting at its the core. With the very survival of the Blackwater tribe at stake, a deadly battle between those in power and those working behind the scenes to restore balance to their world may result in the destruction of them all.
Fans of this series will be delighted to know that the action and terror don’t let up for a moment in this dark and chilling conclusion to the Blackwater journey. L.E. Harrison writes all three books in The Children Of Corvus Series with passion and conviction, and “Corvus”’s bold and unique plot line gives new insight into a centuries-old werewolf community that paranormal fantasy lovers can really sink their teeth into.
Like most reads involving shapeshifting werewolves and witches battling it out between tribes and clans, Harrison’s tale contains graphic descriptions of physical torture and violence, such as when shifters change form and when harsh sentencing is carried out by the heads of their communities. I recommend all three books in The Children Of Corvus series—“Blackbird”, “Merula”, and “Corvus”—only for ages 17 and up.
This 3rd & Perhaps Final Chapter in the Children of Corvus Saga Is the Best Yet
Corvus, the book, not the god of Bestiae, is the best of the three books. The first, Blackbird, lacked the context provided in Corvus. The second, Merula, did little but set up the story for this book. Questions were answered here that lingered from the first two books. There was more story line here too. All in all, or in summary, read them all. There really is a good story here and some fabulous world building. imagine a whole dimension hidden from us, Tue advena, in her tale, hidden in the woods of Maine. Then, she creates more dimensions still within this pocket dimension known as the Children of Corvus. Fascinating, just fascinating.
A stunning conclusion for Samuel, and Cadi. They each get to live with their life mates. Samuel delivered most of the Merula’s to Raven, including Michael & his Aunt Stella. Hopefully, with the balance restored they can live in peace. If the author has any other stories in mind for this world, I can see the witches taking revenge.
Corvus (The Children of Corvus Book Three) was a good read by L.E. Harrison. A witch and a son of Corvus combine their powers to defeat the witch goddess and save the souls of the Merulas that are trapped inside the Shadowlands. Catriona Remington is barely keeping it together while worrying about the fates of Sarina and Jonathan. Sarina stayed behind after finding her father and Jonathan is being held prisoner in the castle dungeon for homicide. Catriona and their father infiltrate the dimension of the children of Corvus to aid her friends. She has an irresistible attraction to Samuel, the newly crowned leader of the tribe. Sarina has a mystifying and debilitating illness. Samuel has to learn to embrace his power and duty to save his father’s spirit and protect his mate. I really enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
