Unlucky in cards… Lucky in love!!
Sara Fields has done it again! She has written a fabulous sci-fi alien romance that I couldn’t stop reading until I finished. I highly recommend reading this book. It has a feisty and fierce heroine who must deal with a drop dead gorgeous hunk of an alien!!
An alien race made first contact with Earth and it wasn’t your typical invasion. Instead there were discussions between the humans and aliens on how to keep the planet and its populations safe. Ideas and medical techniques/advancements were exchanged. Naturally the United States led the way and this created jealousy and animosity between the countries. A Great World War broke out and weapons were developed using alien technology that wreaked havoc. In their quest to win, scientists had foolishly created the human race’s own demise in the form of super soldiers that were bigger, stronger, and could heal at alarming rates. Eventually these alien soldiers fought back against their creators and the human race lost. Now they are the hunted.
What is left of the human race are small bands of ill-equipped rebels, members of the Revolution, who are fighting to survive. Raiza is one of these rebels, a fierce and determined fighter, but blessed with rotten luck as she sees it. She has the misfortune of drawing the unlucky card that sends her on a mission to kill the alien leader. Things don’t go according to plan and she ends up becoming the captive of Commander Talyn.
Talyn is intrigued by Raiza and decides to keep her. It has been a while since he has enjoyed a human woman and he is looking forward to taming Raiza. And boy does he ever!! He is quick to punish and dominate Raiza with his methods. She is definitely no match for Talyn in the beginning as she has no experience with men, alien or human. Talyn is equipped with two members, a primary and secondary, which are total devastation sexually to Raiza. The sex between these two is HOT and EXPLOSIVE!! I’m amazed that they didn’t set rooms on fire with the heat they generated.
Regardless of what Talyn does to her, Raiza is still loyal to the human race but she is unaware that the humans have labeled her a traitor. As a result, a rash decision may end up costing her everything when she tries to warn the rebels. Will Talyn be there when Raiza needs him the most? And will these two find love and happiness amid the ruins of what is left of Earth? Well, I’m not going to tell you and spoil all the fun of reading this sci-fi adventure you don’t want to miss!

This book was good, but not quite a perfect 'Sara Field' story - a bit too abrupt and just unwinding, the differences too harsh for the harmonious ending and the way why everything falls into place not so well led emotionally.
Personally, I found it harder to connect to the decision-making process this time and even if I could understand it logically from the overall situation, I alone am not convinced. But otherwise everything there that is nice and delicate, even if some things were overused or overshot the necessary target. Lines can be tested, but it remains to be seen whether one wants to exceed them permanently.

I absolutely enjoyed reading each & every page of this enthralling Sci-Fi alien romance and it has an excellent twist with a dark undertone but I promise you that it is definitely worth reading. The plot is well-written and has good world building with excellent scene descriptions. I particularly enjoyed the way the author portrayed the characters as being strong-willed unique individuals with a variety of traits who have the inclination to be devious and/or dangerous at times but are still realistic with their emotional feelings & expectations.
There is: a hybrid alien conqueror (Commander Talyn), a human female rebel & reluctant assassin (Raiza), twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, drama, hybrid aliens, humans, action, adventure, greed, deceit, betrayal, manipulations, heartache, confrontations, conflict, violence, enemies, danger, threats, defiance, discipline, domination/submission, contentment & a hard-earned satisfying conclusion for this couple.

This story was a delightful romp through what can only be categorized as something Sara Fields could write. In Alien Conqueror, she takes readers through what life is like where the aliens have become the masters and the humans are fighting to survive. But should they be? Fighting that is. Raiza is a fab, strong heroine who easily brings Talyn to his knees. Oh wait, that’s not right. Maybe it’s the other way around. But then again, that depends on how you took it. This is probably my favorite of Ms. Fields stories now. It was so delightful, so decadent that I had trouble putting it down. If you love your alien romances completely over the top in all the right ways, then this is the story for you. And in case it isn’t in the description, there may be some trigger issues for the virtual pearl clutchers.

Raiza, a human by the luck of the draw is assigned the job of killing Commander Talyn. She fails to kill him, he fails to die, and so it starts. Talyn takes posession of the little human female and starts off teaching her a painfull lesson about trying to fight his superior species and him in particular. Talyn rules over all of Zenarkin and Raiza now it's time for each to learn about the other. There are some very hot scenes where Raiza learns about Talyn's multiple appendages and lavender seed and Talyn learns there is a lot more of his little human to learn about. Raiza is now the enemy of the other humans, they label her a traitor and can only fight for their lives in this world that is now ruled by aliens. I enjoyed this story of the aliens vs the humans and new world they both find themselves in.

If you are gonna read Sara Fields you had better prepare yourself for some of the roughest sex in the universe. She pulls no punches with her sexual prose, believe me. There is always a storyline in her books, but following it is hard at times.

If you like Sara Fields works, this is up your alley. You'll also be familiar with the type of d/s, spanking themes as well. I'd say this one in particular does continue public voyeurism in front of his men (and the couple going all the way) - which was different. It wasn't offsetting to me with the theme and being familiar with her work - but it didn't give too much to feel hot...either if that makes sense? It was like the usual sex scene but written on occasion that oh yeah there's an audience. Basically I saw it in the neutral end.
I would say that this is more of a humanoid type of alien, is how I'd say this commander was. There's basically an insta-attraction that happens with the main couple, and I do find it pretty forced on the FL end of things. In addition there is the typical troupe of being captured, run away, heroine needs to get saved situation going on here. The running away part wasn't really her running to leave, but it was pretty much a surprise she did it since I couldn't get where she got the hope that the humans would work things out. Basically the "main" subplot of the world is sort of weak, but it is technically all there.
If you liked Sara Field's other Sci-fi books (for me I enjoyed the Vakarran Captives series) - this isn't like it. It does give the vibe a bit with the idea setup, but the couple themselves are different. And this isn't a RH.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. Raiza Nix is apart of the last few human factions present. Humans started splicing and combining their cells with alien DNA and created a superior race. The alien army in New York is led by Commander Talyn. Raiza is sent in to kill the Talyn and instead becomes captured. Raiza is Talyn’s human prisoner in a world ruled by aliens.
Something about Talyn is different. When they are alone in his penthouse he is more human than alien. Talyn does make a point to punish Raiza for stepping out of line and to Raiza’s surprise she is excited by the punishments he doles out. Will Raiza leave the human faction for the superior alien race? This book is well-written and will leave readers wanting more.

I had mixed reactions about this, about the female protagonist not the author. It was very well written that I had mixed reaction about the female MC. I can see the situation from her point of view and from the other human's point of view and I cannot fault both sides. They lived in a dystopian world where everything seemed hopeless and the person that made it light is the alien that she both killed and saved. Her alien seemed cruel but he answered to her needs, does this justify his acts, I don't really know.
The author had written the story that it made you see both sides of the coin, clearly showing that there is no black or white in a situation but a lot of gray areas. I appreciate the story for that fact.

Stand up for what is right
This has to be one of my favorite books from this author! She reached such a depth, of story, of emotion, of character, that I didn’t want it to end. I love how both characters grew and evolved the longer they were together, but not without a bit of pain along the way. The story was interesting and kept me entertained throughout, it actually made me wish there was a book two in the same world so I can see how the world continues change in the new reality. I enjoyed the interactions between the characters, and I love the strength of the lovely lady. She was well suited for war, but really thrived with her alien at her side. This book is a fantastic weekend read and I can’t wait to read the next book by the author.

Raiza’s comrades in arms draw cards to determine who will be sent to kill the alien commander, and she’s the unlucky one who draws the Joker. Raiza faces the alien commander and makes an effort to kill him, but a change of heart has her dragging him to safety and offering him comfort. Talyn is both enraged and intrigued by her actions and after he quickly recovers from the wounds she inflicted he captures her and takes her back to the alien city he rules.
Raiza quickly discovers Talyn intends to punish her and he will not allow her any modesty. He reddens her backside before forcing moving on to conquering her arousal. Raiza learns she responds to Talyn’s punishment with sexual interest and she falls in line with his expectations with small outbursts she quickly learns will trigger more punishment.
Raiza remains loyal to the humans, and risks her life to try to warn them of the alien’s plans. She discovers her life is in grave danger.

Raiza Nix drew the card and now the job to could possibly cause her death. She was to get close to the alien conqueror and kill him. Commander Talyn didn’t expect the humans to send a slip of a female to negotiate. She was small but there was something about her that made him want to know more. But first she needs to be punished for her actions. The story is in in the future where aliens have evolved and humans have failed. Raiza isn’t like the other humans. She isn’t bloodthirsty. She has compassion even when she knows she has done wrong. But she soon learns there are consequences for her actions and boy does it hurt.
We see the future differently. We are no longer on top but at the bottom. We have made mistakes that cost us and now we are fighting for scraps. That is what has happened. Raiza was part of a band of rebels believing that the aliens took from them but did they? The rebels were wrong and labeled Raiza a traitor. Talyn wanted peace but the rebels just made matters difficult. His meeting with Raiza is interesting and when he claims her, a bit painful. I have to say that even my butt was sore from her punishment. But we learn that peace can be had.

I so loved reading this reading this story, set in the future when our planet has been invaded by an alien warriors and humans have been almost wiped out and those that have survived are left to fight as part of resistance.
Raiza is a soldier who drew the joker card and is sent to kill the Alien General Talyn but even though she tried, but she just couldn’t do it… Talyn went to meet the resistant leader but was surprised when he see Raiza, even more so when she tries to kill him only to try and save him instead..
Talyn takes Raiza as his prisoner, to make her his pleasure pet and to punish/pleasure her for her mistake.
This book had me hooked and I just couldn’t bring myself to put it down with its hot and super steamy scenes (with extra bits), action, adventure with unexpected twists and I hope we get to read more.

Sara Fields books are just plain porn. You have a story as meaningful as the plumber in actual porn.
Not necessarily a bad thing. If you are in the mood for a quick easy smut read with some kink, this is it. If you need a little bit of story, not totally ridiculous dialogues and characters you can like.. stay away.
My running theory is that Sara Fields doesn't exist and instead an AI writes this books. Otherwise I can't fathom how she pushes out so many books a year. And they aren't badly written or anything and curated.

I like the concept of damsel in distress but not a spineless heroine which what Raiza is. Her people are being killed and all she thinks about is her arousal and the orgasms that her alien is giving her! Love scenes are well written, I admit but loyalty is important. Raiza showed little of that to the people that she knew and lived with all her life. She seemed satisfied with being the commander's mate while other humans are only worthy of being servants and maids. I have a problem with that!

Wow!! What a completely captivating read, totally addictive…
This was a simply fantastic read and I have to say that you will enjoy every single moment of this simply spectacular read which has left me unable to put the book down and so I have found it impossible to put down until I reach the end of the book.
Raiza was on her way to kill the commander Talyn who is the leader of the Alien forces who have now taken over the earth and they have been brutal and there are now only small clusters of humans hiding and living in the woods and other abandoned buildings where they are trying to go un noticed which is not an easy thing to achieve.
Unlike many humans she is not blood thirsty but she knows what she has to do and she goes about it with some vigour however, as she watches him begin to regenerate from his injuries, she realises that she has to help him and for this she is taken prisoner by Talyn and is also then marked as a traitor by her own race.
The interaction between the pair is simply amazing and it is fair to say that he is more enamoured with the little human that she could ever believe possible, he is built differently from human males and he makes it clear that she is now his and will obey or else be punished!!
Over the time they are together she begins to recognises that he actually cares for her and that he will not let her go, he also will make her pay severely for any disobedience and she is in a difficult situation as she cares for her own race and knows they have no chance against the aliens.
When she creeps out of the quarter to tell the humans how little chance, they have of surviving the fight she discovers she is now wanted as a “Traitor” by her own kind. She never would have believed the would be so cruel and filled with “Hate”!!
Read this simply amazing book and discover for yourself, you will not be able to put the book down until you read this wonderful book.

« Le monde dans lequel nous sommes plongés est sombre pour l’humanité. » J’ai été captivée dès le début de ma lecture et je n’ai pas pu m’arrêter avant d’avoir lu le dernier mot.
L’intrigue est bien écrite et a une bonne construction du monde avec d’excellentes descriptions de scènes. J’ai particulièrement apprécié la façon dont l’auteur a décrit les personnages comme étant des individus uniques à forte volonté avec une variété de traits qui ont parfois tendance à être sournois et / ou dangereux, mais qui sont toujours réalistes avec leurs sentiments émotionnels et leurs attentes. Bien que j’ai eu des réactions mitigées à ce sujet, à propos de la protagoniste féminine et non de l’auteur.
J’ai apprécié cette histoire des extraterrestres contre les humains et le nouveau monde dans lequel ils se trouvent tous les deux. Les noms peuvent être différents, mais je savais à peu près exactement ce qui allait se passer. Je suppose que j’avais espéré une petite variation. Je ne peux qu’imaginer à quel point il est difficile d’écrire sur un livre et de trouver de nouvelles idées. C’était bien mais ça ressemblait à d’autres livres que j’avais déjà lus d’elle.
C'est une lecture définitive pour les fans du travail de cet auteur et de la romance sombre qui ne déçoit pas si vous aimez vos romances extraterrestres complètement exagérées de toutes les bonnes manières, alors cette histoire est pour vous.
« Le monde dans lequel nous sommes plongés est sombre pour l’humanité. » J’ai été captivée dès le début de ma lecture et je n’ai pas pu m’arrêter avant d’avoir lu le dernier mot.
L’intrigue est bien écrite et a une bonne construction du monde avec d’excellentes descriptions de scènes. J’ai particulièrement apprécié la façon dont l’auteur a décrit les personnages comme étant des individus uniques à forte volonté avec une variété de traits qui ont parfois tendance à être sournois et / ou dangereux, mais qui sont toujours réalistes avec leurs sentiments émotionnels et leurs attentes. Bien que j’ai eu des réactions mitigées à ce sujet, à propos de la protagoniste féminine et non de l’auteur.
J’ai apprécié cette histoire des extraterrestres contre les humains et le nouveau monde dans lequel ils se trouvent tous les deux. Raiza is one awesome woman. She’s tasked with a difficult mission and when everything fails to go as planned, she shows such bravery and strength to face the consequences. And despite everything, she shows incredible loyalty to the humans. I really liked her!
Talyn is ruthless, cruel, arrogant, bossy and possessive. But there’s even more to him than meets the eye - he’s fair, strong and fiercely protective. And the equipment he’s packing is quite the bonus! Oh, I loved everything about the commander!
I loved the development of their relationship and the S&M dynamics. Both Raiza and Talyn were strong-willed individuals and, from the very first moment they met, their chemistry was undeniable. And, yet, it took time for them to trust each other. And some punishments. But the passion they shared was sizzling hot and they were definitely a fantastic match.
In addition, the worldbuilding was absolutely fantastic! The history of how it all came to be and the ramifications of humanity’s actions were unique and captivating. And that new world is quite dark and dangerous and only the strongest survive.
Overall, Alien Conqueror is a deliciously dark enemies to lovers story. It’s filled with action, suspense, conflicts, violence, betrayal, danger, twists, rash decisions, consequences, scorching hot romance and wonderful characters.
I couldn’t put it down and loved every single page of it!

December 14, 2021I cannot rate this book fairly, mostly because of my own personal dislike of the extreme level of punishment and the virgin heroine's immediate acceptance and intense enjoyment. It was...just too much for me and too unrealistic. I originally planned to DNF the book but realized I was already almost 50% in and decided to finish it.
However, that problem is mine to deal with because the author was 100% up front with the content. Take the author's warning to heart and whatever level you expect dial it up. I'm apparently too used to author's warnings being overkill and then the content being pretty mild, or like 1-2 punishment scenes...this is NOT that.
I would have actually liked more world building because the concept was interesting. The post-war world with the hybrid alien conquerers was actually something I could see happening because no one is as good at destroying the human race as humans. Anyway, proceed at your own risk.

WOW! Well then, that was definitely a dark sci-fi romance. If you get triggered by scenes of rape and physical punishment then this may not be the book for you. However if you can stomach that then I’d recommend this book. Set in a future were humans create superior alien/human beings who then take over and become the dominant species. Humans live on the fringes and strive to survive. We then meet the alien Commander Talyn and our brave in her own right human Raiza. Through the story we see Talyn come into is humanity little by little and experience Raiza come to terms with the way the world is now, where humans are slaves, possessions, or pets. It is his world and she is just living in it, and will learn to love it. Good read for sure.

I know this won’t be a story for everyone, but I liked it. It was a darker kind of SciFi Romance and I loved it. Most of the book consists of bedroom/punishment scenes, so be aware. If that isn’t up your alley, don’t bother with this book. The world we are thrown into is a dark one for humankind. Some might see Raiza as a traitor to the human race, like her fellow humans in this story, but I get her, especially with the way the other humans behave. It has a HEA and I am satisfied with how it ends. I don’t know if this is going to be a series, but I would love to read more of this world.
Conclusion:
Darker than your typical Alien Romance, but I enjoyed it.

Talyn and Raiza have one tale to tell. There is character depth, deception and flawed beings, lust, violence, and complex dominant pain/pleasure intimacy all wrapped together. I loved it. These two were made for one another and didn’t know it. Talyn’s dominance is addicting. Raiza’s submission to him made their unions that much more intense. They each were made whole with the understanding of how strong they were outside of their intimacy. Raiza’s empathy for others and intelligence to understand the changing environment brought out aspects of Talyn that made him whole. The plot was well done to keep the pages turning. And the mildly kinky intimacy was super hot! With a HEA.

Sara Fields never, ever disappoints and this was another brutally steamy read. Raiza Nix, a rebel human fighting alien conquerors, has drawn the lot to run suicide mission and assassinate Commander Talyn, the leader of the alien forces. But when she shoots, slices his throat, and poisons him, she regrets it and tries to help him. He heals himself and takes the beautiful and tough human captive, as his slave. I love the build of their relationship, the steam, and ultimately the trust and love. This is one of her best books and you can read it for FREE with your Kindle Unlimited Subscription. Grab it soon.

Reading this book reminded me why I love when Ms. Fields plays in the PNR pool; she knows how to bring the Alpha to alien and the heat and dominance to an otherwise boring smex scene.
I think the reason why I couldn't give it a full 4 stars or more was that the plot was so over used at this point by her and I believe even some of the smex scenes were too. The names may be different but I knew pretty much exactly what was going to happen. I guess I had hoped for a little variation. I can only imagine how hard it is to write about book and come up with new ideas. It was good but felt like other books I had already read from her.
