His hive brothers Orel and Gwin may have resigned themselves to being guardians and Dazi retreating to his scholarly works, but he is not willing to give up yet. Although being mated to a small wingless queen wasn’t quite what any of them imagined, they resolve to not give her up. They will court their queen and win her for their own.

Ah yes, whisked to another world by a magic amulet that ends up shrinking you- and planting you right in the path of four ridiculously hot pixie men who are very interested in getting right down to business...if you know what I mean.



All in all this was a fun RH romance with a little bit of conflict, sexy time, and character development. I was also kind of laughing at the fact that their jizz turns into gold dust that, when comes into contact with skin, is a powerful aphrodisiac.



But I have a question they are not brothers right? They are a unit but no relation correct? Bc all of the guys are very into have intimate moments and sex with each other as well as the h. I think I remember reading that the h's kids went off to find their own unit and queen so I don't think this is the case, but I wanted to make that distinction.

Incest = no go for me

This was freakin cute.
It tells the story of Orenda born into a witch family but without magic of her own. However she is able to feel magic and while being on the hunt for magic items she discovers a medal that sends he her to a pixie realm and shrinks her size to one of them.
She comes around a hive of pixies and after a night of pleasure they announce that she is their queen.
I love all the characters in this. There are 4 males in the hive and they are all different and awesome.
It was great seeing them slowly finding their way to each other and Orenda giving in to the feeling of belonging that she had from the beginning but denied herself.
The sex was great and I really like that it was not only about the woman but the man take action among themselves too.
The story was good, quite low angst and not a lot of thrilling stuff is happening but it was overall very cute.
I am definitely going to read more books of the series and author.

The cover was what initially drew me--I thought it was so pretty!

Also this is me being an editor but, it should be The Pixies' Queen, as she is the queen of more than one pixie. "Pixie's" demotes possession by a singular pixie; placing the apostrophe after the S shows that the possessive applies to the plural, not that it's the possessive of a singular.

This falls rather nicely into that vein of erotic romances with male love interests who aren't human or who have a unique culture/way of being to separate them. Think of it a bit like Ruth's Bonded or Demon Mine in that a human protagonist must come to terms with her non-human lover (or, in this case, lovers) and accept their different world.

The alternating perspectives was really enjoyable, helping to flesh out all the characters despite the book being a little over 200 pages, and I really liked how the author approached pixies--it was different and interesting to merge magic, insect and bird behaviors, and a reverse-harem story all into one.

Plus, I like that there was a good amount of focus on the hive as a whole--everyone is connected to each other and interpersonal harmony amongst all five is given importance, with the males being intimate with one another too (two of the pixies are actual siblings, which I would have rather wasn't the case, but aren't shown to be intimate with one another, so I believe the author knows what's up).
Although Orenda has a particular affinity with Dazi, the author didn't make this story be one of those RH's where it's really the heroine having a relationship with just one guy, but she also gets to fuck his friends/brothers/etc. whenever. I'm really happy about that.

While it wasn't an emotional romance, I felt the intimacy and appreciated the erotic scenes. The affection and intimacy felt sweet and passionate, imbued with enough feeling to not feel like cold, empty, uninspired sex.

Really, my biggest complaint is that this book wasn't longer. I know it was a novella that was lengthened, but I would have loved for this to be a more drawn out and detailed story, perhaps even a series. The pixie world is interesting and I saw so much potential for good romantic developments between Orenda and her four pixies. If the author ever chooses to return to this world, I'll definitely be interested.

The current price tag of 3.99 doesn't quite strike me as appealing, but if this ever drops to 99 cents or 1.99, I'd love to buy it to have it permanently in my collection. I can see myself revisiting it. I borrowed it with Kindle Unlimited and am glad for it. It's been a long time with I've read a fae story that landed. The last several attempts have been... quite disappointing, to say the least.

Would recommend if you enjoy non-human love interests and appreciate erotica that's also sweet and loving.

I’m just not feeling this right now, but I might revisit later when I’m in a different mood. Currently I’ve lost patience with the h, and I can’t muster any more effort for her.

I’ve seen this setup many times. An unhappy/ lonely h with nothing going for her stumbles across a magical/foreign land or planet and runs into some sort of local that declares she is his/their mate and desperately tries to woo her while she stubbornly resists and demands she must return to Earth and her shitty life that sucks large as soon as possible. All the while he/they are providing unlimited orgasms and showering her with gifts and affection.

Here we have Orenda, an unhappy witch that is accidentally shrunk and sent to the Fae realm where she is found by a hive of four very desperate male pixies. Shavish, Gwin, Orel, Dazi are larger, duller, and older than the other unmated males. They are well past their prime and this will be the last chance they have to secure a queen before the elders strip them of their fertility and dismantle their hive/brotherhood. (they are in relationships)

I’m an impatient reader, so for this to work, I need her to get with the program in a somewhat reasonable timeframe. I’m ok with other crap hijacking their happiness, but I’m not down with her kicking her Golden Retriever “mates” and we’re halfway through and it feels like Orenda is using them for sex while planning to get the hell out of Dodge at her first opportunity and since these dudes next option is pretty much death or sterilization… I’m not down with that.

Bottom Line- I’m sure this will get better, and I’m sure Orenda will be the Queen here little pixies deserve, but they are just in such a desperate situation that I’m not digging her blasé attitude that she’s basically holding their entire futures in her hands. I love drama, but I don’t enjoy watching puppies be teased by potential owners through the window. So, it’s a pass for now.

Frustrating

First, let me list my biggest grievance. Please put a TW at the beginning of this book as well as the synopsis.. while half these males might not be related they reiterate growing up together, CONSISTENTLY call each other brothers, but also copulate. I don’t care if a RH has M/M, but it’s really disturbing when they treat each other like siblings while also f&$k:ng... just.. disturbing. I couldn’t get past that when they constantly brought the sibling thing up, and I’ve read a lot of weird stuff.

Second, it was really difficult to remember who was who. There was a mix of slight introduction to the pixie world while also assuming the reader already understood. Had no idea which guy was which guy until chapter 20 something. Also, there were some errors in the beginning, one such error was a chapter being narrated by Dazi who a couple pages later looked over to Orel and said “Dazi and me” like... wut

Their longevity could do with additional explanation in my opinion. I’m fascinated with characters who can live for a long time but when they say the queen has withered wings or whatnot at a century, then act like MC is still young at 120 ish years old... what?? I was sitting there wondering the whole book if the fact that they can live for a long time while she can’t was gonna come up until it was just casually thrown in the epilogue like no big deal

At first I loved the epilogue, then I wished it had been 2/3 through the book with more on what happened.. like... dang.

Solid for its genre. Interesting world and magic exploration. Enough of plot line that wasn't romance to keep me interested in the characters and their arcs. Surprisingly well-written first person point of view for five different characters that felt unique to each voice so they didn't blur together or feel extraneous and unnecessary. Also surprisingly well-paced considering what I usually find in the genre. Definitely not for everyone in terms of content, but probably about a 3.5 for me. Would I read it again? Eh. Was it good within a genre that I'm not well-versed in? Yeah. Do with that what you will.

So i have mixed feelings.

I did enjoy it but maybe it felt lacking romance wise because its RH so the actual quality time seemed nearly non existent to the point where the dudes were basically interchangeable...

Also m/m just inst for me. And while i can tolerate a little and often just skip parts in group sex scenes with it it takes away time on the main romance and adds more relationships to an already 4 guys 1 girl not exactly easy to develop well relationship. I felt like a lot more time was spent from their initial mate not mate fight to the flower festival than their was of good stuff. Like yes her relationship with fini was important but i feel like they could cut down the time frame on that and had her spend more time interacting with her new duties and world which wouldve been way more fun.

And the troll thing like she was human she couldve conveyed to both kate and the troll queen what happened and how to prevent it happening in future and that the pixies territory should be off limits to the trolls so they dont have to worry about being killed squished stolen homes destroyed godzilla style like or how the pixies dust isnt for the trolls to get horny off and is a sacred mating dance they want to keep for themselves and not made a spectacle.
Furthermore the troll queen nor kate given her apparent powers didnt even ask if their was anything they could do to apologise like give her wings or put a barrier to protect the pixie lands from anyone who isnt their size from entering like even a basic fence made of prickly vines or enchanted type hedge like in the previous book couldve protected them also wtf anali was just not even gonna mention that one her people whose mates literally came along knowing she was alive and somewhere here was trapped somewhere by a troll? And did the troll queen know her etc like wtf maybe the pixies should incapacitate the trolls with their love dust and light their homes on fire like wtf

Idk i feel like a lot was glossed over or rushed... and done disservice to the characters and like also surprised that orenda didnt take the opportunity to write a letter for her sister and give it to kate to deliver since she had a good relationship with her and like 50 years for them to have kids as far as im aware they werent using fkn lil mini condoms to prevent any preganancy before that and its clear that fertility and such is like a massive thing for the pixies and there was no mention of them having issues with producing children and the wording was very much we waited 50 years to have kids like thag dumb as hell especially since shes human and had noway of knowing shed still be fertile or even alive then idk i feel like i wanted to love this and in general the pixie society and relationship set up was one of if not my favourite but idk it didnt press any smut buttons or RH properly there was no real oh now she makes dresses for all the trolls pixies or anything about any of her things in the human world like even if she doesnt like her family was she really just gonna disappear and not even go back for a photo of her grandmother or to even temporarily show her mates and maybe fini and her mates her home. Whil she got her things or closed down her shop and refund customers or anything? Like i dont expect fantasies to be super practical but their are so many plot holes and unfufilled things in this book that i was kinda confused why this felt off compared to the previous books and only at the end of the book when the author mentions its an old novella that she eventually turned into a full length does it make sense. The flows off it feels like its been mashed together scenes its like when you watch a ten min web drama as it comes out and then they release it as a full length movie but its choppy af and doesnt have the flow or like fufilling depth of a movie because it remains constantly surface level and can never keep delving deeper as it goes on because the stories been made to be really shallow and quick.
So i dont hate it but compared to how much i love the others it feels very different and kinda annoying like out of place.
And as much as i loved the pixie world and society it was never fully explained or explored and their was a brief mention of pixie nobles etc but ? Since when i though there were just elders who were basically their leaders and then the mated hives as the main society and the unmated queens waiting to enter society debutante style. And idk there was no mentioned or anything of her learning to read and write their language or making other friends or even names of her children or doing anything with their hives and frankly if theyre all long lived why the fuck so we never see the guys parents or other siblings or aunts etc and when soeaking that elders wings wither and eventually they no longer fly and pointing out an elder than was 100years and like that when apparently theyre all at least thag old in the epilogue and have no issues flying and why should a 100yo when they apparently live like 500 years or more... so in that case where are the grandparents the great grandparents their tight knit community and if the elders cant fly why isnt their village made for them as well aka walking people or at the very least they should have permanent sparrow type transport and they wouldnt of been surprised to see orenda on a cargo/mail sparrow... add in like if they cant fly when their old what duties do they perform do their fingers stop being able to produce silk and surely they arent the only pixies in existence they mention other colonies further away so why then do we never meet any of them especially when they apprently can go to the troll kingdoms palace and ride birds to take them... like and besides zabi and apparently fish what other predators are their? Birds surely? What happens when it rains i mean we see her nearly and drown and they cant fly with wet wings so do they all just stay inside that entire time or youd think theyd have linked undercover bridges to their houses so they can travel in the rain or have their homes up in the trees where trolls cant hit them or step on them etc i mean what about deer and such idk like they have the ability to literally spew fire and other magic yet they act like theyre helpless and if they collect nectar for dood then wtf are trolls allowed to walk through their village and pick it like idk the more i actually think about this book and the inconsistences and backward arse logic the more my head hurts.
So as much as i loved the concept i feel like the execution and romance side was lacking and frankly none of them actually changed or had any breakthrough conversations to get them past the inital wtf moment and cold shoulders ita juat like suddenly they decided to pretend relationship anyway and forget all the issues they had with it in the beginning... which were very real issues. And they suddenly orenda just doesnt care anymore like about anything? Like you can choose them and still be like i still need to sort out my apartment and tell the police not to search for me. I mean when she got sucked into the portal or whatever she heard shouting so im assuming the chick and shopkeeper saw her so what was her family notified did they even look or like was their a funeral or like they still didnt even say what the portal was and who made it like i thought she recognise the weird text on it in a book or something and be able to weild her own portal and like not need to fly because she could teleport anywhere but ? Idk im done lol im gonna hopefully enjoy the next book but this one was mega disappointing cause on the surface it ticked all my boxes and i could even tolerate the m/m but the rest of it the plot holes and no mention if her half human offspring was like or if they had witch powers as well and her witch gift that she showed in the store and mentioned she could feel and see magic just seemed to cease existence in the new realm cause everyone can see that shit including the human size humans their... so idk no big family dinner at that long table mentioned or any mention of how pixie pregnancies were like... idk im disappointed and my head hurts.

What I LOVED: I love the relationships between the hive members and their eventual queen but I went into this for the monster smut and that’s exactly what ended up being my favorite parts! The idea of mating and the interesting anatomy the pixies had was very intriguing.

What I LIKED: The world of the pixies was so interesting to explore especially through the POV of the pixies themselves and of a human who was sucked into their world. I liked having backstories for all the characters and seeing their journey until the epilogue

What I DIDN’T ENJOY: My mind was focused on the smut when I went into this so most of the plot bored me but I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if I was in a different mood

S.J. Sanders, the QUEEN of fantasy romance, has done it again. The whole book was a wonderful ride.

My one gripe? Gwin, and his racism towards zaabi, or whatever. I couldn't at first envision how the heroine was supposed to ever forgive that. But I guess it was all exaggerated by fear, and since the heroine forgave him and got over it, so did I.

cute fantasy why choose

I enjoyed the sweet romance in this book and thought the characters fit together well. It was a depressing beginning and I wish Sanders had addressed the serious cultural issues at play that forces men to give up their desire so young. However, the main plot points were all addressed so I can’t complain too much. I have to say, even though the smut was good, there were some serious missed opportunities with all MMCs having a double d situation.

So, I enjoyed this.
The pixies were super interesting, with their unique culture and customs.
The relationships were fun to watch grow.
And the sex was steamy and interesting.
But.
There was Zero dirty talk of any kind, and it sort of made their mating feel a little distant. Like instead of being a part of it with the characters, we were behind a sort of privacy screen where we were told of things happening but kept separate.

And the inner dialogue of each character was a bit hard for me to really fall into with how much they kept repeating themselves.

I really enjoyed it.
But I didn’t get the full satisfaction of feeling fully connected to the characters the way I would’ve liked.

I didn’t know what I was expecting going into this, I wasn’t expecting was for me to love it! Omg. It was such a fun ride, this book was so entertaining. And if you’re looking for spice, don’t worry this book has you covered!

Out of all the males, Dazi is hands down my favorite. Sweet Lil librarian pixie. The spice had me blushing. And I also have to say, the pixies giz is gold. Literally gold. That is all.

Also Orenda got her wings in the end! I just wish we could have seen Fini’s reaction to her finally getting wings.

I’m glad she found a place where she felt like she truly belonged.

This was cute, a bit shorter than the previous books.

I don’t read a lot of RH, but this was okay to me. 4 guys isn’t the most in number that I’ve read. Truthfully, I think 3 is a good number and anything else gets difficult to keep track of.
But this book did a decent job of keeping things linear with the guys, with the 1st person POV.
I liked that despite the m/m, all 4 guys were obsessed with the fmc. But having the m/m AND double peens AND wing colors going on with the guys made it kind of hecticccccc

Not as much spice as I figured it would have. My favorite was Davi. But why was Orel always getting the backdoor? lol

This had a way better ending than I first thought it would be. Didn’t like the first 50% of the book. But after it did an 180 and turned really good! Started to love all the characters and the plot. I disliked some of the lead ml in the first half of the book but after they became so good to her!!🥰

Fun concept with some cute bits thrown in, but overall I found it a rushed, clunky story (a lot of editing errors as well) that was actually kinda boring.

I mean, a harem of 4 double-peen pixies should be bangin’ (pun intended) but there were too many off-page encounters, and the ones on page fell flat. I also kept mixing up who was who, they were that interchangeable.
