What can I say - I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK!!!

As you can see from my shelves, it checks ALL of my top boxes.

* 2 alpha males MM intense love and sexy times!

(ok, one of the men in the gif isn't "alpha" but just focus on the other one)

* grumpy hero

* dragons!!

* adventure, intrigue, rollercoaster emotions!

* enemies to lovers (and BOY ARE THEY ENEMIES, AND THEN HOLY SHIT ARE THEY THE BEST OF LOVERS!) A love for the ages!! A love to end all loves!!

I mean, what's not to love??

Sin and Zai are EVERYTHING!!! Why doesn't AJ write more MM romances???? It's one of the best I've EVER read! I want more!!!

(Maybe for Ben?? Even tho I'm totally outvoted on that front).

You want to know the synopsis? Read one of the other reviews. I'll just say that for new readers unfamiliar with the series, READ ALL THE OTHER BOOKS FIRST in the Pure/ Dark Ones series before starting this!!! Your enjoyment will be multiplied exponentially.

ALL THE STARS! I MEAN ALL OF THEM.

description

If you've followed any of my updates and reviews, you know I love Aja's stories. Each one is unique with distinct plot lines, emotions and passions relevant and specific to the MCs. I have yet to read an overlapping romantic connection in the Pure/Dark Ones series or the Dragon Tails world. Truth of Dragons was no exception.

Back in this wonderful world, Sorin is still suffering, Ere is still distraught, trouble is brewing and the quests yet to be completed are still owed. Ben - sweet and surprisingly grown up and manly Ben - has decided to venture on this quest and that's how he meets Sin and Zai.

Sin and Zai have traumatic and bloody pasts but when they come face-to-face again, lust and connection outweigh the blood from the past. Zai is determined to distance himself from the intriguing and soulful Sin and Sin is dead set on showing Zai what they could become. It is a battle of will and heart - one running on instinct and the other trying to place jagged ice around his heart. One sees the beauty of what could be and the other doesn't think he deserves love and companionship.

I love MM - especially if the MM relationship is between two alpha males that fight for dominance. Sin and Zai were both very demanding, possessive and dominant and their coupling was hot as SIN (see what I did there?). Each - sometimes without realizing - gave each other exactly what they needed and shared burdens equally. I loved the passion and primal dance they engaged in to get to their happy ending. Companions, lovers, friends, equals, and partners, their animalistic personalities meshed perfectly to the point I wanted to cry with happiness. Everyone has a destiny. Zai and Sin were each others.

description

Truth of Dragons wasn't just about Zai and Sin though. Weaving the intricacies of the quest and the discoveries Ben made about the past and himself made this story action packed, unforgettable and suspenseful. There may have been a resolution to Zai and Sin's story, but so many questions were left unanswered - Is Ben coming to a huge crossroads? - What will the next quest be and who will go on it? - What part does Ben play in the coming change?

I feel there is a lot about to happen and we are on the precipice of something big. I wish I could say this could be read as a standalone but it really can't be. Start at the beginning or go all the way back to the Pure/Dark ones. If you love MM romance, emotionally charged and passionately steamy relationships and to be sucked into a fantastical world of destiny and fate, you have to read this!

What can I say folks? This one hit it out of the park. But you know how I feel about AJ's books. Even so, this one really scratched my many itches. Here's why:

NOBODY WRITES MM INTENSE EMOTIONAL EROTIC ROMANCE LIKE AJA JAMES. HANDS DOWN. AMEN.

Sin and Zai were FIRE. Both are alpha males, which is rare to see in MM romance. The most common pairing is alpha with beta (twink), size difference, or both are beta. This is one of the very rare MM romances I've read where BOTH MCs are sooooo alpha and sooooo right for each other. Equals. Partners. In every way. That alone will make me give this book 5 stars.

Add to that, 2 alphas who are also butt virgins???? WOW. checking all my boxes and then some!

But that's just ONE of the many things I love about this book.

THE ACTION JUST DOESN'T STOP.

From page one, you're thrown in the rollercoaster ride and you only get off with wobbly legs at the very end. And then you're so high and dizzy and ADDICTED you want to jump right back on. You want to find out MORE MORE MORE!

What's going on with Ben??
What's next with the JE's games? Quests?
Who is the mysterious Seventh Sister??

This was a turning point in the series. The momentum is building like an ocean swell. It's about to come crashing, and I want to be there for it!

Bring it on!!

BE FOREWARNED - READ AJ'S NOTE IN THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK. PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T READ OTHER BOOKS IN BOTH HER SERIES SHOULD PROCEED WITH CAUTION. YOU MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP UP.

****************************************************************************

OMG that ending!!!

Know what you get when you pit a liger against a Dark Hunter?

One of the hottest romance novels I have ever read!

Zai was a reluctant Hunter for the Dark Queen. Born with no name, no parents, no one to care for him, he had to make the most of what he had. His skills made him the best and yet he didn't quite fit in.

Being different was what led him to make the most important decision of his life—betray all he's ever known, throw caution to the wind, and stand up for justice.

Sin had never felt a pull this strong with anyone else across the whole of his existence. Even his lost mate. And he'd never felt it for another male. Whatever this was... it was primal at the most basic, primitive level. Every fiber of Sin's being vibrated with an instinctual recognition.

Honorable to a fault, when Zai realized that Sin was an imprisoned slave of the new Queen, he was willing to enter the lion's den, facing certain death, to free him. And Ben... sweet Ben was along for the ride. He knew that Zai was relevant to his latest mission. But how?

Long-time enemies, Sin and Zai were never meant to be. Or were they?

Sin had vowed to kill Zai. He was blind with rage, swearing vengeance. And Zai knew that all of that hate was well deserved. This man probably hated himself more than Sin ever could.

Aye, they were two of a kind. He didn't realize it could be so exhilarating to hate someone. So downright addictive. So addictive, it was starting to feel less like hate and more like... something else.

The hate was so strong until it wasn't.

What do you do when the person you're supposed to hate the most becomes the most important person in your life?

What happens when your greatest enemy becomes your greatest love?

They fought for dominance as much as they submitted to each other's strength.

I loved Ben.
Obviously.
I've loved him from the first moment he crossed the page.
Wise, precocious, sweet and funny. He reminded me of Ere, but he was wholly himself.
And the man he's turning into is only more intriguing.
And my heart hurts a little bit for whatever's in store for him.
But I'm not even really worried.
Aja James always delivers!

But this story was really about Sin and Zai. What they shared, from the bitterest battles to their all-consuming passion, was incredible to watch.
And so freaking explosive.
No one writes MM quite like this author.
The love, the understanding, the wonder of this couple, it had this beautiful synchronicity.
It was magical.

Heat - 5 out of 5 / frequent & filthy

I have received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Truth of Dragons is the fifth installment within the Dragon Tails series. Just like the previous books, I completely devoured this. It also doesn't hurt being one of the many amazing BETA readers either. The only thing I could have done without is the hurt and heartbreak I went through in the beginning. Mostly because I just wanted Ere and Sorin to get the happiness they obviously deserved.

Besides them, we see Ben go off on a solo mission. At first, I was very worried and protective on my wonderful Ben. Then I got excited to see what he was going to see and who he was going to meet. So thankful for Sin and Zai because they were utterly amazing throughout the book. Both being alpha males and both annoyingly into the other. Annoyingly because they didn't want to be, but we all knew what was going to happen. Or at least we were hoping for.

The romance and action had me completely hooked. We also got some details to help connect who Ben was in his past lives. I, obviously, freaked out when we met a certain fox. Then towards the end, I continued to freak the freak out because I'm honestly so excited for the next adventure. Just need to get a better understanding on the games and quests JE are doing behind the scenes because I'm so confused. The seventh sister will probably be on my mind until we get all the secrets revolving around her.

In the end, I'm so happy that I ran into Aja and her amazing books. Heck, even the beta group makes everything better too! A little sad that this book and adventure are over but happy because we are already getting parts of the next book. I can't wait for this one to be published so everyone can fall in love with Zai and Sin. Not Ben though because I'm prepared to fight anyone and everyone for him. Even you know who.

2 'This is goodbye' stars

It actually pains me to give this book such a low rating (and I'll probably make some people very angry with this) but I really had higher hopes for this one. I did have mixed feelings about books 1 & 3 because I'm not exactly a fan of time travel and quests stuff but I thought that MM would save it for me. Well... sadly, no, and I guess that Zai and Sin just didn't work for me. I'm all for tortured heroes but honestly all these charachters are starting to feel the same (kind of why I stopped reading BDB).

There was nothing special about Sin or Zai. They were supposed to have this cute grumpy and sunshine relationship but I've felt zero for them. There was no development. They kind of hated each other and then they were in lust and out of the blue purple, they were soulmates and in love??

Also, sex was really bad. I know Aja James can write seriously steamy and sexy scenes (Ere and Sorin's official first night together or Tal and Ishtar's shower sex 😏) but here there was literally just 'stick it in dry' and 'bear the pain' and that was it. I had "let's do it like they do it on Discovery chanel" song on repeat in my head (not intentionally but sometimes it truly felt more like reading about animals fucking). Maybe they're so alpha males they don't need foreplay but I do. And they don't improve, not even after the love confession, so I guess, it works for them but not for me.

Anyway, I think it's time to say goodbye to this spin-off. Original series will always stay in my heart alongside with many beloved charachters. And I'll surely take a look if the author ever decides to start completley new series but this world is no longer something I'm interested in.

I am at a loss for words. This book is absolute perfection from beginning to end. I read it all in one day because I couldn't put it down. Sin and Zai are stunning together. Their passion is so intense and explosive. They are hands down my favorite couple in this series. Both of them are alphas and they are just breathtaking together. This is one of the best M/M romances that I have read. The pacing of the story is fantastic and there is non-stop action. I LOVED the setting and the characters. It was so great to go back to certain events from the Pure/Dark Ones series. The ending blew my mind!!!! It did not see that coming. I need the next book now! This book is a definite game changer for this series.

Aja James is a phenomenal author. Her books are so unique and beautiful. She always delivers on the romance. All her books are extraordinary.

ARC is provided for free, and I’m leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Another intense story! First, readers should heed the author’s notes about how much prior stories in both this series and her Pure/dark ones series matter, so that this one is easier to follow. These stories happen in the same general world, with returning characters, building upon each story to achieve a well thought out and expansive world.

My other warning is that there are definitely difficult topics- triggers like abuse, torture, iffy consent etc. In fact, most of her books across these series have characters who have endured unimaginable pain and torture. The depth of these pasts lead to the glory of their redemption.

Ere and Sorin, my favorite couple of all time, continue to face obstacles to being together. Sorin, still unconscious from an unknown ailment, disappears in the beginning of the story. Ere, his grief unimaginable, forced the Jade emperor to contain him before he caused too much damage.

So that leaves Ben to follow through on a quest that can hopefully help Ere and Sorin. Ben, as in the prior book, is a fantastic lead for a story- witty, a bit naive and young but strong and smart.

With him are Zai, a Dark Hunter who hunted the Beasts while under the rule of Gaia, the awful Blood Moon Dark Queen, and Sin, the Liger Beast who lost his mate during a hunt for which he saw and then blamed Zai for participating in. Given the difficult start, you would assume a dark story and it started out as such but there were moments of levity, with Ben’s mannerisms and humor similar to Ere. And Sin, oh Sin- he made me laugh out loud and my heart swell with love. I absolutely adored him, his playfulness, his mischievousness and how he treated Zai, who was an absolutely perfect foil for him. (Think a sunshine/grumpy MM pairing)

Aja James, as usual, infuses the romance itself with so much emotion (and steam!) A true enemies to lovers romance, where the couple has to overcome hate and accept love when there is so much pain, my heart broke only to be pieced together. What a gorgeous intricately weaved story. I wait anxiously for the next book in this series, as the ultimate goal of the quests continues to unfold.

Wow this book was a blast.

I want to say that I am glad to have all the insight into this spin-off from Dark/Pure Ones series. To understand the characters and what is happening it helps to rea from the beginning. My review on this book is that I loved the flow in which this author writes her books. The characters are always amazing, funny and of course the steamy scenes.

Ben has grown up tremendously. He's smart and so much like his sire Ere in the humor arena. This book showed more growth and capabilities even being by himself on missions. I was surprise to see some things that came to me while reading. Jogging my memory there were questions that I had to ask with the Muses help at times where I was lost.

Zai went through life regretting what he did to Sin and had to rescue him from the Dark Queen, but not really knowing what he would be up against. Although Sin was in his decline after losing his mate Anya his only reasons for living at that time was getting revenge on the Hunter if he was to meet him again.

The scenes was oh so steamy and to see both Zai & Sin trying get back at one another during their interactions was hilarious. I don't think either was able to relinquish their dominance because they were both alpha males after all.

I should have known through the reading that the person who could make mountains shake, volcanoes erupt and rockslides that the character was Ramses, but this came back to me from when he performed this in Dark Possession.

There are always surprises when reading this author's books. The surprise part of this read was seeing Prince Hulaal/Ramses and understanding how Ben felt seeing his past. I don't want to compare all the books however I have to say this book tops the spin-off series. What really happened to Queen Ashlu when Prince Hulaal/Ramses created the vibrations attack when Ben approached? Who was the gray witch? If Annie is a fire witch when did the witches appear? Still many unanswered questions? Whatever happened to the orphans? There are still questions to be answered.

I look forward to reading the next book with hopefully everybody traveling together to possibly fight in another battle together. Who is the next dragon that belongs in the Celestial realm?

Wow what a ride!! A lot of the stuff that popped up I didn’t see coming!

I love Sin! That liger was hilarious!! Loved his attitude and the way he never backed down on what he wanted. At first he wasn’t the male I started to love, but hell he went through a lot. I can’t imagine see what he did right in front of his eyes and being the same person.

I loved Zai also! The master hunter was a very amazing man of skill! He had so much in common with Sin it was unreal. They both had the alpha going on and never backing down. They both fought for what they wanted and would never let go. Protecting those they love and care for! I loved that about them and I’m beyond glad they have each other! I honestly didn’t see them getting together at first, but I’m glad that they did!!

The beginning left me so heartbroken for Ere and Sorin, and the ending left me happy, but with more questions. It might seem like everything is fine but I don’t feel like it is. Everything with Ben and all that he discovered. 🤔What is going on with him? 🤔Who is his past lives that I don’t yet see? I believe I know one, but are there more? 🤔The title he was called at the end what does it all mean? And it goes on and on!! So many questions!! And I want answers!! 🤣😂 But I will be patient and wait for these answers! I know Aja will give them in time.

I gave this book 4 starts. Wish I could have given it 4.5 cause that’s what I would have given if I could. The only reason I did that was because I wanted more of Ben and the others in this story. It’s not often a main character gets to go back in time and interact with other main characters. I don’t know maybe it was just me 🤷🏻‍♀️. But hey I still enjoyed the book!

Thank you Aja James for allowing me to go on another fantastic adventure, and I can’t wait to see what the next one has in store!!

Happy reading!! 🖤🖤

Being a Muse for Aja usually is a mixture between pleasure and pain.
Pleasure at getting new bits, and pain (agonizing at times) at those bits breaking your heart into a million pieces.
Which she always lovingly puts back together, don’t worry!
The way she builds each story is simply magical, and it amazes me every time how every detail fits seamlessly into the overall timeline. With Truth of Dragons she goes back into the history of The Pure/Dark Ones in a way that needs a warning.
One she added at the beginning, and one you should listen to.
Because to enjoy Truth of Dragons fully,to really understand what happens, you need the background of at least a few of the stories in The Pure/Dark Ones series.
Having finished the full story, and the ARC,i have to find a way to review this rollercoaster-ride without giving away too many details…..so,here goes….

We knew Sorin’s condition was bad, really bad.
But what happens in those first pages?
And what it did to Ere? Pure Agony!!
It’s a good thing Ben managed to hold onto him as he flew to the Celestial Palace.
Because Ben turns out to be the one to go back to the time Sorin was Sol.
To the time Ashlu was the Dark Queen.
He almost gets into trouble as soon as he gets there, but is saved by a Dark One.
His unlikely saviour is Zai,former Dark Hunter of Ashlu’s mother,Queen Gaia.
He was banished as a traitor, but has returned to the city to make amends for what happened during his last Hunt.
He plans to help a Beast escape.
Not just any Beast,no….the liger who’s pregnant mate was killed on the Queen’s orders.
And he doesn’t need some human boy tagging along, right?
Only, there’s more to this boy than he thought, and once Ben proves himself useful,he reluctantly accepts his help.
Getting the liger out,he feels he’s done what he should, but Sin disagrees.
Zai is responsible for his Mates death, and he wíll pay!
Only, the way he ends up paying is not what Sin had in mind…..and how he feels about that,is another story!
In fact,Sin is starting to change his mind….but will Zai agree?

One thing in all this is certain, they need to get the boy to a safe place.
And where safer, than with my Tiger King,Goya? Ben really needs to find Sol,but since they don’t know where he is,they’re kind of hoping Goya does.
And why not…after all,he ís the Tiger King, and should know where the Eagle King is,right?
When they finally reach Sol,the rumors turn out to be true….he ís lost!
He’s given up on life, and plans to go out with a bang at Queen Ashlu’s tournament….
Can Ben convince him to hang on,to wait until he meets his Rai,his Ere,again?
Should Ben try to prevent him from going to the tournament?
If he does too much, will he change history in a bad way?
And if he does too little will that mean the same?

Even with the knowledge of all that’s happened in the Pure/Dark Ones history, this story was mindblowing.
Little details that gave new meaning to events in the past.
Meeting key figures ,good and bad, again.
Ben remembering more, and realizing what some of it meant.
Finding the Truth in more ways than one.
Meeting My Magnificent Tiger again,in a time long before Maddie (me) came into his life.
Seeing his calm, but dominant way of ruling the Beasts is always beautiful to watch….
Zai,that Dark Hunter had a hidden core even he knew nothing about.
But i know i claimed him for a good reason.
That man was GOOD.
Even if he didn’t see it himself.
He was honorable, fought for what was right, and stood by those that needed it.
Took responsibility for his actions.
But damn,he was stubborn where Sin was concerned!
How he fought the attraction, thinking he didn’t deserve it.
Good thing Sin was stubborn too….
And talking about Sin,that liger was something else.
Until he met his mate Anya,he was happy to simply be a Beast.
She changed him in a good way, tought him to care.
But after she was killed,he vowed revenge and killed as many Dark Ones as he could.
Until he was caught and tortured.
Seeing Zai as the enemy,as the one responsible for his mates death, gave him every reason to kill him,but finding out he couldn’t,made him think.
And once Sin started to think,he saw other possibilities.
Messing with his prey was fun,but was Zai really prey?
The more Zai tried to keep his distance, the more Sin did his best to get closer.
To show him they were perfect for eachother,to convince him to stay.
His playful side was so much fun to watch!
Both Zai and Sin had a vulnerable side,a fear of being rejected.
And both had been alone for far too long….
Which made the moment they finally were together, really together, that more beautiful.

But what is going on with Ben?
Is this the start of his Awakening?
And who will be going on the next quest in The Heart of Dragons??

(Sidenote…Logan and i are very happy Goya invited these two beautiful souls into our household.
And i’m even happier he accepted the fact i claimed them….)

**ARC Review**

Aja has truly done it again!
Everything about this read was 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We are back in the present world with Ben, Ere and Sorin when a tragedy takes place and Ben runs head 1st to help as much as he can. Sorin is still not himself and with this new tragedy Ere is losing it. Ben's only option is to visit the Celestial palace and goes on his own quest ... and what a quest it is...

Zai and Sin... there are just no words to explain the chemistry, the love, the longing, and the devotion. 2 Alphas = explosive spice that I didn't even know I needed in my life... I don't think I can ever go back to any other kind of mm spice ever!

Zai is a loaner in the world trying to make up for past deeds. Sin is a lost soul just living for vengeance after his mate and unborn cubs were killed. They both find themselves in a new mission with Ben all the while falling in love with eachother.

Ben is on a some what self created quest with the seventh daughters help. This quest is to help Ere and Sorin since they are a bit lost, which could effect the world if they are not reunited.

As many of you know I am a huge fan of the Pure/Dark series and I highly recommend reading that series before starting this series, especially this book. We get glimpses into the past, get to see characters from p/d and also bits and pieces that was missing from that series. It was absolutely amazing how little details meshed together to create a better story. I seriously cannot express how much I truly enjoyed this story and holy batman I cannot wait for the next book especially if we get to learn more about Ben.

There is something very special about Ben and something very big is coming .... and I want front row seats to it all. Cannot wait for the next book!!

I 💯% recommend this book and series and also highly recommend reading pure/dark series before so you get the full effect of this amazing characters.

The New Solo Quest for Truth Given to Ben by Miss Seventh was super mysterious and seriously entertaining! I loved this new development of showcasing Ben as a major player in the series. If only His Uncle who owned this spinoff could stay away forever, I promised to never wish for anything else from this series.

The steamy hot & brutal love & lust between the two alpha males ~ Sin, the rarest of all predatory cats, a dark blond liger & Master Dark Hunter Zaidu ~ totally blew my mind away! So ~ yeah ~ I wholeheartedly recommend this book to you to please pick it up and lose yourself in this spectacular tale.

Of all of my favorite scenes, I loved when my favorite characters from The Pure/Dark Ones series showed up as supporting characters: The Tiger King Goya, Ben's adopted parents, Ben's grandparents, the Pure Queen and her Consort, and more! They absolutely lighted up this book

Moreover, they helped maintaining my rating of Five Stars for this book by helping to cool me down when I got so offended by the glorifying of the past villains like nasty Queen Ashlu Da-ni-gal and her ever nastier mother Queen Gaia! These two could easily take away at least two stars! That's how much I despised them for having dared to walk into this story and earn even more page time than the past beloved characters I just mentioned!

The heart of the story ~ when Ben completed the quest and the Truths were revealed ~ was the most satisfying spoilers ever!

Sharing one of Sin & Zai's heart pounding PG-13 scenes:

This was what their bodies were made to do—to give each other endless pleasure. To dominate as much as submit. To surrender as much as enslave.

Surely, Zai felt it too. Surely, he knew the primal truth.

At last, he stilled. Everything inside and out stilled as well.

"No," he said.

And Sin knew that it was his final word.

Stubborn warrior, Sin thought, closing his eyes, ignoring the ache that suddenly filled his chest, like blood pouring from a mortal wound. . .

. . . he simply locked his man in a tight embrace, squeezing a bit harder than usual until Zai's bones creaked in protest, buried his face in the crook of Zai's neck and went to sleep.

Deepest gratitude to the author for the gift of this ARC. It's been my pleasure to share honest feelings about this super amazing book here.

Hard to handle

The Black Crowes version of “Hard to Handle” should be Sin’s theme song and I am sure Zai would agree, as he irritated and exasperated Zai at every turn with his tricksy, playful, feline ways. Sin and Zai are a study in opposites that clash with spectacular effect, to be remade as a unstoppable force of one. One mind, one heart, one soul.

Thoughtfully written, the Eagle King’s longed desired self destruction is heartbreaking. His despair and loneliness becomes ours.

Excellent read.

On a personal note: If I never see the phrase “with every fiber of his/hers/their being” it will be too soon. Authors should forget this phrase exists and stop using it.

Who would say a dragon and a liger could become mates? Or that a hunter could fall in love with his prey? But that’s exactly what happens. And someone has a hard time accepting it…. Read all about it and find everything about another fantastic couple with beautiful love. How hot? VERY! Is that it? Definitely not. Great humour, exciting fight scenes, beautiful descriptions of other realms.

Regardless of the book’s blurb, “Truth of Dragons” by Aja James is the story of two alpha males, Sin and Zai, surviving and eventually falling in love in the brutal, unforgiven world created by Mrs. James for the “Dragon Tails” book series. Usually, I am not a fan of fantasy novels. Several reviews on GR, however, convinced me to give “Truth of Dragons” a try. I am glad I did it.

Sin is a “liger,” the extremely rare and powerful creature resulting from the successful mating between a lion and a tiger. In his human form, Sin has the physique of a Greek God, the ferocity of a lion, and the fearlessness of a tiger. He is a natural predator and a trained killer. Sin is also driven, knows what he wants, and he's willing to fight for it. And what Sin wants is Zai.

Like Sin, Zai is an uncanny assassin as well as an adept hunter. Tall, muscular, and extremely good-looking, Zai is a superb example of the male species. When Sin and Zai collide, fighting for survival, revenge, and love the result is a titanic battle of equals. Quite literally, there is no telling who will finish on top.

Thank “the Gods,” Aja James is the one writing this compelling story. The lady knows to write. And on “Truth Of Dragons,” she does it extremely well. In crafting Sin and Zai’s fantastic journey, Aja did not resort for lazy, moronic plots, or one-dimensional characters, or worse yet, irritatingly melodramatic tricks. Thankfully, unlike most MM's authors, Mrs. James does not treat us, the readers, as half-wits. A case in point, the scene towards the end where the two MCs’ meet after they, unwillingly, had been separated for some time. The description of Sin’s reaction when confronted with Zai, the object of his unbounded, unlimited, and endless love makes for a remarkable reading.

As for the sex scenes? First – and, in my view, more importantly – Aja James wrote sex scenes between the two male characters without forgetting the implications that the word MALE carries with it: masculinity, virility, and subtle vulnerability. As a bonus, she gifted both Sin and Zai with huge dicks and a formidable talent on how to use them. Lest not forget the MC's deliciously plump, muscular butts willing and ready to be abused. It is man-on-man-sex heaven. Second, the way Mrs. James describes our two MCs fucking, should me called something else. Something that goes beyond wild, fiery anal penetration. Yes, it is lustful, intense, rough, and deliciously dirty with rivers of body fluids but it is also intimate, caring, and tender. An almost never-ending fuck/love fest between two big, muscular MEN. And, boy, I loved every single minute of it.

Well done, Mrs. James. Well done. Keep them coming. (Sorry, not sorry)

Enjoyed it even though I didn't read books 2-4. M/M couple (almost always a plus) and I liked Benji from when we first met him in the P/D Ones series.
